Långbans mining village

Welcome to one of the world's most mineral-rich places. 1.8 billion years ago these minerals were formed, but it would take until the 16th century before iron ore began to be mined. In the early 1970s, however, mining quieted down for good. However, the mining village is still alive today with its buildings, mineral collections, exhibitions, beautiful nature, exciting stories and memories that have their origins in the beginning of time..

Hornkullens silver mine

According to legend, silver ore was mined in Hornkullen even before the Death of Diger, i.e. around 1350. The mining area is a unique monument to Swedish mining. There are several different mine holes in Hornkullen, but it is the Dunderkammaren that is bilge-pumped and possible to go down into. With a little imagination, you can hear the hammers hitting and the shafts creaking. Perhaps you can imagine the smell and smoke from the cooking fires.

Lesjöfors museum

A working life museum beyond the ordinary. The museum provides a rich description of the work and living conditions of a few generations, and an understanding of the change society underwent during the latter part of the 20th century.

OLW Snacksbutiken

Since 1967, OLW has been producing snacks in the heart of Värmland and now their long-awaited snack shop is finally in Filipstad - a real oasis of snacks. In addition to selling OLW's products and unique souvenirs, visitors will be able to learn about everything from the history of cheez doodles® to how chips are produced in OLW's factory.

Wasa Knäckebröd Butik & Museum

Barilla/Wasabröd has been in Filipstads since 1931. Next to the factory there is a museum and a shop with factory sales of Wasabröd and Barilla products.

Vandring i Filipstad – 7 fina vandringsleder

Oavsett om du vill upptäcka en spännande natur, historia eller kultur så hittar du det på vandringslederna i Filipstad.

Bästa vandringslederna i Filipstad är Brattforsleden, Kopparslingan, Högbergsfältet, Paradisheden, Stegelmosslingan, Ormtjärnsleden och Hälsans stig.

Innehåll

1. Brattforsleden

En av de finaste och mest händelserika vandringarna i Filipstad gör du på Brattforsleden. Det är en vandring på 22km som går genom en varierad natur och kulturlandskap.

På vandringen får du uppleva allt från raviner, dödisgropar och rullstensåsar. Vissa delar av leden är tuffa speciellt när du kommer till Lungälvsravinerna.

Vindskydd för övernattning finns vid Lungälven och Alstertjärnarna. Vid sjön Alstern kan du passa på att bada om du vill. Även toaletter finns längs leden.

Brattforsleden är markerad med både skyltar och orange färgmarkering på träd och stolpar så enkelt hittar.

2. Kopparslingan (Fd Silverleden)

Ä du sugen på att göra en historisk vandring kan vi rekommendera att vandra Kopparslingan som förut hette Silverleden. Hela vandringen är 10km och startar i Nykroppa.

Under vandringen får du se historiska fynd, gruvhål och fina utsikter. Du kommer även gå förbi Hornkullens silvergruva, gör gärna ett besök här om du har möjlighet. De har öppet på helger under sommarmånaderna.

Ledmarkering finns av orange färgmarkering på stolpar.

3. Högbergsfältet

I Högbergsfältsets naturreservat finns en vandringsled som bjuder på mycket variation. Totalt är leden 4,7km.

För det mesta går leden på breda vägar och stigar. Men i skogen blir det mer kuperat. Längs leden finns gott om rastplatser att pausa på som ligger vackert vid sjön.

Tänk på att leden även går genom betesmarker. Följ orange färgmarkering för att hitta runt i naturreservatet.

4. Paradisheden

Rundslingan som går på Paradisheden är 5,3km och går genom ett av Sveriges största dynfält.

Vill du pausa för att vila eller äta matsäck finns en rastplats vid Långtjärnen.

Startar gör du från Malmtorget där även en parkering, information och en rastplats finns. Leden är markerad med gul färgmarkering.

5. Stegelmosslingan

Önskar du en lite kortare rundslinga kanske Stegelmosslinga kan vara något för dig. Det är en vandringsslinga på nästan 4km med start från Stegelviken i Brattforsheden.

Leden tar dig genom gammal tallskog och längs åsar. Det är även branta backar upp- och nedför åsarna.

Vid parkeringen finns även toalett och en rastplats finns vid Stegelviken. Följ blå färgmarkering.

6. Ormtjärnsleden

Ormtjärnsleden är en avstickare från Brattforsleden och är 2,5km enkel väg. Perfekt utflykt att göra om du vill komma ut en stund i naturen.

Starta gör du från norra Kittelfältet och du kommer passera ett häftigt brandområde på vägen, i slutet av leden finns ett vindskydd, eldplats och toalett.

Det är orange färgmarkering som sitter på stolpar och träd.

7. Hälsans stig

Vill du ha en mer central och mer lättvandrad promenad är Hälsans stig ett bra val. Det är en promenad på 5km som ligger mitt i stan.

Längs vägen kan du bland annat se Kanonudden, Bergmästargården, Storbrohyttan och Ferlinstatyn.

Hälsans stig är en rundslinga och det finns informationstavlor vid varje kilometer som visar vägen. Du kan starta från vilken Hälsans stig skylt som helst i stan eftersom det är en rundslinga. Hälsans stig finns i flera svenska städer.

Varför vi rekommenderar att vandra i Filipstad

Mycket variation finns på Filipstads vandringsleder som bjuder på historia, kultur och häftig natur. Du kan också enkelt ta dig ut till många av lederna med kollektivtrafiken.

Det finns även gott om rastplatser och vindskydd vid lederna att pausa eller övernatta vid.

Oavsett erfarenhet finns det någon vandringsled för alla och finast är det att vandra här på sommaren då kan du även passa på att bada i sjöarna som ligger längs vissa leder.

Brattforsleden om du har tid annars är Kopparslingan också väldigt fin att gå.

Sommaren. Självklart går det att vandra i Filipstad året runt och alla årstider är fina på sitt sätt. Men som bäst tycker vi det är på sommaren.

Ja, det får du om inget annat anges på platsen. Allemansrätten gäller men det kan vara särskilda regler i naturreservat och i vissa naturområden. Då kan det vara tältförbud så ha koll på skyltar.

Inte vad vi vet. Se till att alltid ha med dig tillräckligt med vatten.

Create and add an email signature in Outlook

In Outlook, you can create one or more personalized signatures for your email messages. Your signature can include text, links, pictures, and images (such as your handwritten signature or a logo).

Note:  If the steps under this New Outlook tab don't work, you may not be using new Outlook for Windows yet. Select Classic Outlook  and follow those steps instead.

Create and add an email signature

On the View tab, select   View Settings . 

Select Accounts > Signatures .

Select    New signature , then give it a distinct name.

In the editing box below the new name, type your signature, then format it with the font, color, and styles to get the appearance you want.

Select Save when you're done.

With your new signature selected from the list above the editing box, go to  Select default signatures and choose whether to apply the signature to new messages and to replies and forwards.

Select Save again.

Note:  If you have a Microsoft account, and you use Outlook and Outlook on the web or Outlook on the web for business, you need to create a signature in both products.

Open a new email message.

Under Select signature to edit , choose New , and in the New Signature dialog box, type a name for the signature.

Under Edit signature , compose your signature. You can change fonts, font colors, and sizes, as well as text alignment. If you want to create a more robust signature with bullets, tables, or borders, use Word to create and format your signature text, then copy and paste it into the Edit signature box. You can also use a pre-designed template  to create your signature. Download the templates in Word, customize with your personal information, and then copy and paste into the Edit signature box. 

You can add links and images to your email signature, change fonts and colors, and justify the text using the mini formatting bar under Edit signature .

You can also add social media icons and links in your signature or customize one of our pre-designed temlates. For more information, see Create a signature from a template .

To add images to your signature, see Add a logo or image to your signature .

Under Choose default signature , set the following options. 

In the E-mail account drop-down box, choose an email account to associate with the signature. You can have different signatures for each email account.

You can have a signature automatically added to all new messages. Go to in the New messages drop-down box and select one of your signatures. If you don't want to automatically add a signature to new messages, choose (none). This option does not add a signature to any messages you reply to or forward. 

You can select to have your signature automatically appear in reply and forward messages. In the  Replies/forwards drop-down, select one of your signatures. Otherwise, accept the default option of (none). 

Choose OK to save your new signature and return to your message. Outlook doesn't add your new signature to the message you opened in Step 1, even if you chose to apply the signature to all new messages. You'll have to add the signature manually to this one message. All future messages will have the signature added automatically. To add the signature manually, select Signature from the Message menu and then pick the signature you just created.

Add a logo or image to your signature

If you have a company logo or an image to add to your signature, use the following steps.

Open a new message and then select Signature > Signatures .

In the Select signature to edit box, choose the signature you want to add a logo or image to.

To resize your image, right-click the image, then choose Picture . Select the Size tab and use the options to resize your image. To keep the image proportions, make sure to keep the Lock aspect ratio checkbox checked.

When you're done, select OK , then select OK again to save the changes to your signature.

Insert a signature manually

If you don't choose to insert a signature for all new messages or replies and forwards, you can still insert a signature manually.

In your email message, on the Message tab, select Signature .

Choose your signature from the fly-out menu that appears. If you have more than one signature, you can select any of the signatures you've created.

Automatically add a signature to a message

You can create an email signature that you can add automatically to all outgoing messages or add manually to specific ones.

Select Settings   at the top of the page.

Select Mail >  Compose and reply .

Under Email signature , type your signature and use the available formatting options to change its appearance.

Select the default signature for new messages and replies.

Manually add your signature to a new message

If you've created a signature but didn't choose to automatically add it to all outgoing messages, you can add it later when you write an email message.

In a new message or reply, type your message.

If you created multiple signatures, choose the signature you want to use for your new message or reply.

When your email message is ready, choose Send .

Note:  Outlook.com is the web version of Outlook for users signing in with a personal Microsoft account such as an Outlook.com or Hotmail.com account.

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (AP) — Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi arrived in Cambodia on Sunday for a three-day official visit to reaffirm ties with Beijing’s closest ally in Southeast Asia. His visit is the last stop on a three-nation regional swing that also took him to Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.

He is visiting amid foreign concerns about two big Chinese-funded projects in Cambodia — a planned canal and a naval base — that critics allege could aid Beijing’s strategic military interests in Southeast Asia.

China is Cambodia’s most important ally and benefactor, with strong influence in its economy. That is illustrated by numerous Chinese-funded projects — particularly infrastructure, including airports and roads, but also private projects such as hotels, casinos and property development. More than 40% of Cambodia’s $10 billion in foreign debt is owed to China.

Wang is scheduled to have separate meetings with Prime Minister Hun Manet and his father, Hun Sen, now serving as president of the Senate after serving for 38 years as Cambodia’s head of government until he stepped down last year to be succeeded by his son. Wang was also granted a royal audience with King Norodom Sihamoni.

Hun Manet has shown no sign of deviating from his father’s pro-Beijing foreign policy. In August 2023, Wang visited Cambodia just days after Hun Sen announced he would step down as prime minister in favor of his eldest son.

Beijing’s support allows Cambodia to disregard Western concerns about its poor record on human and political rights, and in turn Cambodia generally supports Beijing’s positions on foreign policy issues such as its territorial claims in the South China Sea.

Cambodia has recently reiterated its determination to go ahead with the Chinese-financed 180-kilometer (112-mile) long, $1.7 billion Funan Techo Canal project across four provinces in the southern part of the country to connect the capital, Phnom Penh, to the Gulf of Thailand.

The plan has raised concern from neighboring Vietnam, where some scholars speculated the 100-meter (330-foot) -wide and 5.4 meter (18-foot) -deep canal could make it easier for China to send military forces southward, close to Vietnam’s southern coast. There are often frosty relations between Vietnam and its massive northern neighbor China, which aggressively claims maritime territory claimed by Hanoi and in 1979 staged a brief invasion.

The United States has also weighed in on the project, appealing for transparency on the part of Cambodia’s government. Wesley Holzer, a U.S. Embassy spokesperson in Phnom Penh, was quoted as telling the Voice of America that “the Cambodian people, along with people in neighboring countries and the broader region, would benefit from transparency on any major undertaking with potential implications for regional water management, agricultural sustainability, and security,”

Hun Manet, speaking Thursday to government officials and villagers in southern Takeo province, dismissed the Vietnamese concern and vowed to push forward with the project, which he said would provide a huge benefit to Cambodia.

China also is involved with another project causing foreign concern, its Ream Naval Base on the Gulf of Thailand , which the United States and some international security analysts say is destined to serve as a strategic outpost for Beijing’s navy.

The Ream base initially attracted attention in 2019 when The Wall Street Journal reported that an early draft of an agreement seen by U.S. officials would allow China 30 years’ use of the base, where it would be able to post military personnel, store weapons and berth warships.

Hun Sen in response repeatedly denied there was such an agreement, pointing out that Cambodia’s constitution does not allow foreign military bases to be established on its soil and declaring that visiting ships from all nations are welcome.

The base is situated on the Gulf of Thailand, adjacent to the South China Sea, where China has aggressively asserted its claim to virtually the entire strategic waterway. The U.S. has refused to recognize China’s sweeping claims and routinely conducts military maneuvers there to reinforce its status as international waters.

On Dec. 7, two Chinese naval vessels became the first ships to dock at a new pier at the base, coinciding with an official visit to Cambodia by China’s top defense official.
