If you just stay on the bus and ride around the circuit, that is probably fine. But if you get off the bus, you may wait 30 minutes or more for another bus to come. If that bus is full, it won't even stop, and you will wait another 30 minutes or more, and so on. Our first stop was the Lincoln Memorial. After that, we tried to catch the bus at the next stop, but it never came. Then we noticed the bus going about a block away from the scheduled route. We tried to catch that bus, but it wouldn't even stop. We finally gave up and took a taxi back to our hotel. We paid $175 for one stop on the Big Bus, and would never do it again. Not only is their website dismal, but their map isn't close to accurate and apparently there are different loops. It's not at all clear which busses do the full loop and there are no announcements to explain. the bus is painfully slow. We were not able to half of what we wanted because of the bus. • nicholascK1345VS 0 contributions 3.0 of 5 bubbles Buyer beware The man we bought the tickets from for our tour yesterday kindly let us off paying the child’s fare for our youngest grandchild as he was only just in the age bracket. However, I suspect this was because he knew what we were actually letting ourselves in for. Owing to events taking place in the streets around the White House, the Red Loop only actually consisted of 8 stops instead of 17. This was not communicated to us clearly at any stage, either on the ground before we bought the tickets, or on the bus itself. The first time we understood what was actually happening was when we jumped off at stop 5 for lunch and looked properly at the app on our phones. In the app, the Red Loop was now shown as 1-6, then a jump to 14. In actual fact when we did hop on again, the bus only stopped at 6, then 17 and 16 in that order. As a visitor from abroad, I understand that events in the capital can interrupt the smooth running of the tours. However, surely there must be a way of communicating this clearly to potential buyers and a fairer way of charging in such circumstances. Why should we have to rely on a seemingly ‘generous’ gesture by the ticket seller, instead of paying less when we are getting less than half a service? I would recommend people who might be interested in these tours to check the traffic news themselves before committing to paying. Read more Written April 15, 2024

The bus we were on broke down and would not start after about 10-15 minutes of riding (stopped at stop 3) and we were told to wait for another bus. My children and I somehow missed the second bus (pick up spot was under construction and ppl were everywhere). We spent the day walking to other stops trying to “hop on” to no avail. I don’t think any bus stopped at stop 14 all day even though a worker told us it would and the website and email indicated that only stop 15 was closed. The virtual chat help feature on the app is useless. We ending up getting an Uber back to the hotel. We saw a competitors trolley make several stops while we waited. Almost $200 for a few minute ride on a bus. Will likely never do any bus tours again due to this experience but if so I’ll definitely use another company. Read more Written April 13, 2024
