Nine years into MAMAMOO ‘s career as a leading, chart-topping K-pop girl group, the quartet has announced their first-ever tour dates for the United States.

The new “MY CON” tour dates follow the group’s latest EP, Mic On , released in November of last year , which included the single “Illella” that peaked at No. 5 on Billboard ‘s World Digital Song Sales chart . Beyond group activities, the members have remained active with their solo music and projects. Solar and Moon Byul even teamed up as a duo for MAMAMOO+ for 2022 single “Better” and have new music together coming out later this month .

Tickets go on sale on at 10 a.m. local time on March 29 via Ticketmaster. See the full U.S. tour dates below.

MAMAMOO announces USA dates, venues, and cities for their WORLD TOUR "MY CON"

Vocal powerhouse group MAMAMOO finally announced the beginning of their long-awaited USA leg of their World Tour. The  US leg of the World Tour titled " MY CON " will begin on the 16th of May at UBS Arena in New York and conclude on June 4th at the Kia forum in Los Angeles.

Needless to say, fans of the group are incredibly excited to see MAMAMOO perform in the USA, as the group is known for their live performances. So much so that the Korean general public has given the group the title BeLisMAMAMOO which means Believe and Listen to MAMAMOO .  Since the group is known for their colorful, solid vocal, and powerful live performances on stage, they never disappoint.

MAMAMOO Announces Dates And Cities For U.S. Leg Of "MY CON" World Tour

MAMAMOO is taking their first world tour to the United States!

On March 16, MAMAMOO announced nine dates and cities for the upcoming U.S. leg of their first world tour “MY CON.” The group will get started in New York on May 16, then make their way to Baltimore, Atlanta, Nashville, Fort Worth, Chicago, and Glendale throughout the month. On June 2, MAMAMOO will visit Oakland before finishing up on June 4 in Los Angeles.

MAMAMOO’s “MY CON” world tour began last November with a three-night concert in Seoul, followed by a two-night performance in Japan. Early this year, the group embarked on the tour’s Asia leg , stopping by Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Manila.

Currently, MAMAMOO’s Solar and Moonbyul are gearing up to make their first-ever unit comeback as MAMAMOO+ with “ ACT 1, SCENE 1 ” on March 29.

Ticket sales for MAMAMOO’s upcoming tour dates are set to open later this month.

Los Angeles, CA - March 23, 2023 - Fresh off last week’s exciting announcement, MAMAMOO announces the venues they will be playing at as part of their “MY CON” World Tour as they head to the U.S for the first time. After wrapping up their latest performances across Asia, the popular K-Pop group will embark to the U.S. for their inaugural arena tour that launches in New York City on May 16, 2023; hitting a total of nine cities coast to coast with many major markets in between including Atlanta at the award-winning State Farm Arena on Saturday, May 20 . Presented by Mammoth, Inc. and Sugar Monkey Live, this is MAMAMOO’s first ever global tour, as well as their American debut.

The girls knocked it out of the park with their mini album “MIC ON” in October 2022, and promptly followed up with a hugely successful, nine city tour across Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Bangkok, Jakarta, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Manila. MAMAMOO has established themselves as unrivaled icons of K-Pop, having sold out more than twenty concerts since their first one in 2016. MAMAMOO’s first song, “Mr. Ambiguous,” debuted in 2014 and cemented their position as a mainstream K-pop knockout. Their launch was considered by some critics as one of the best K-pop debuts of 2014. They are recognized for their retro, jazz, R&B concepts and their strong vocal performances. Their song “HIP” is their first music video to hit 370 million views on YouTube and 210 million streams on Spotify, since their release in 2019. The quartet is known for being daring and breaking the rules in K-pop with their progressive fashion style, challenging the Korean music norms for women, and their girl boss attitude. MAMAMOO promotes being an independent woman with no restrictions. Hwa Sa is the most successful soloist, with her hit song “Maria” (2020) breaking records with more than 270 million views on YouTube. The K-pop girl group will play nine shows over two months

K-pop girl group MAMAMOO are set to embark on their first-ever tour of the US as part of their wider ‘MY CON’ world tour.

The quartet officially announced that they would be going on their first North American tour, which will comprise shows in nine cities on both coasts, as well as southern and midwestern markets, over two months.

MAMAMOO’s US tour will first kick off on May 16 in New York at the UBS Arena, before heading down the coast to Baltimore’s CFG Bank Arena and the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

The girl group will then head down south, with shows in Tennessee, Texas and Arizona. The quartet will wrap up their nine-date tour in early June with two shows in California, at the Oakland Arena and Kia Forum.

Tickets for MAMAMOO’s US tour are set to go on sale 10am local time March 29 at Ticketmaster . More information about ticketing is expected to be released soon.

MAMAMOO’s upcoming US tour is an extension of their ongoing ‘MY CON’ world tour, which kicked off in Seoul on November 18, 2022. As part of the world tour, the girl group have performed in Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and the Philippines, among other Asian destinations.

Meanwhile, the group’s sub-unit MAMAMOO+, comprising members Solar  and  Moonbyul , will release new music later this month . The duo are set to unveil the single album ‘Act 1, Scene 1’ on March 29, half a year after they made their debut in August 2022 with the song ‘Better’ , featuring BIG Naughty .

Mamamoo finally announced their first-ever USA concert dates as part of the My Con World Tour. Starting off from the city that never sleeps, New York, the girls will wrap the North American leg of the tour in LA.

K-Pop girl group Mamamoo has continued to impress fans with their incredible vocals and chart-topping hits. The members Solar, Wheein, Moonbyul, and Hwasa have also been thriving in their solo pursuits. Following the release of their latest EP Mic On in 2022, Solar and Moonbyul are now gearing up to release their first single album, Act 1 Scene 1.

Attention all Moomoos, Mamamoo are set to embark on their world tour, stopping at the US for the first time ever! The tour titled MY CON', a wordplay of the 2022 mini album MIC ON', will kick off this May in New York before wrapping up in Inglewood, California. The quartet, Solar, Moonbyul, Whee In and Hwa Sa will play nine shows across North America over the course of two months. Acknowledged for their unique style in the Korean music industry, don't miss the chance to see the talented K-POP group. 

The girl group debuted in 2014 and rose to fame in the South Korean music scene in 2015 when their single Um Oh Ah Yeah' peaked at number three on Gaon Digital Chart. With a mix of multiple appearances and winners of the Korean music competition Immortal Songs', they quickly became recognized by the public. They hold numerous awards including the Golden Disk Award for Best Group and Mnet Asian Music Award for Best Vocal Group and they don't plan to slow down as they continue to make music as a group as well as solo releases.

After wrapping up their latest performances across Asia, the popular K-Pop group will head to the U.S. for their inaugural arena tour. which will comprise shows in nine cities on both coasts, as well as southern and midwestern markets, over two months. MAMAMOO Kicks Off First-Ever World Tour ‘MY CON’ in the US with Shows in 9 Cities!

South Korean girl group MAMAMOO is set to continue their impressive debut world tour ‘MY CON’ with a series of performances across the United States. After successfully concluding the Asian leg of the tour, the powerhouse quartet is ready to take America by storm!

On March 16, 2023, MAMAMOO’s agency, RBW, announced through the group’s official social media channels that ‘MAMAMOO WORLD TOUR ‘MY CON” would be extending to the Americas. The talented foursome, composed of Solar, Moonbyul, Wheein, and Hwasa, will start the US tour on May 16 in New York City before heading to Baltimore, Atlanta, Nashville, Fort Worth, Chicago, Glendale, Oakland, and Los Angeles.

Following their triumphant ‘MY CON’ concerts in Asia, which included shows across nine regions such as Seoul, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines, MAMAMOO is expected to bring the same level of excitement and energy to their American fans.

‘MY CON’ marks MAMAMOO’s first-ever world tour and will feature powerful live performances of their hit songs, including the critically acclaimed “ILLELLA.” In addition, fans can also anticipate enchanting solo stages showcasing the unique charms of each member. With their reputation as a “performance-oriented group,” MAMAMOO is determined to demonstrate their musical prowess through captivating stage setups exclusive to ‘MY CON.’

Their first concert for the tour was held at the Olympic Hall in Seoul from November 18 to 20 of 2022, [1] and their second concert was at the Makuhari Messe , Chiba from November 26 to 27 of 2022. [2]

The rest of their concerts take place in 2023, including the concerts of the Asian part of the tour: " MY CON - ASIA ". The countries of the Asian tour section are Hong Kong , Taiwan , Singapore , Malaysia , and the Philippines ; [3] on December 11, 2022, Indonesia was added to the country list, [4] and then Thailand on December 23, 2022. [5]

Their third concert took place on January 7 in Hong Kong at the AsiaWorld–Expo ; [6] as of December 15, 2022, the concert had been extended to take place from January 7 to 8. [7] Their fourth concert took place on January 14 at the NTSU ARENA (Linkou Arena) in Taoyuan , [NT 2] Taiwan ; [8] as of December 2, 2022, the concert had been extended to take place from January 14 to 15. [9] Their fifth concert was held at the IMPACT EXHIBITION Hall 5 in Bangkok , Thailand on January 29, 2023. [5] Their sixth concert took place on February 5 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD [10] in Tangerang , [NT 3] Indonesia . [4] Their seventh concert took place on February 9 at The Star Theatre in Singapore ; [11] as of December 9, 2022, the concert had been extended to take place from February 8 to 9. The next region for their tour is the United States , [17] with the tour section being called " MY CON - USA ". [18] The cities for the USA part of the tour are New York , Baltimore , Atlanta , Nashville , Fort Worth , Chicago , Glendale , Oakland , and Los Angeles .

Their tenth concert took place on May 16 at the UBS Arena in New York City , New York . Their eleventh concert took place on May 18 at the CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore , Maryland . Their twelfth concert took place on May 20 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta , Georgia . Their thirteenth concert took place on May 22 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville , Tennessee . Their fourteenth concert took place on May 24 at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth , Texas . Their fifteenth concert took place on May 27 at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago , Illinois . Their sixteenth concert took place on May 31 at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale , Arizona . Their seventeenth concert took place on June 2 at the Oakland Arena in Oakland , California . Their eighteenth concert took place on June 4 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles , California . [19] The Los Angeles concert is the last event for the MY CON tour in the USA.

They did an encore concert for their previous Seoul concert, and it is their nineteenth concert overall. It took place at the SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium in Seoul from June 16 to June 18. [20]

MAMAMOO released their documentary film for the world tour, with it being titled as MAMAMOO: MY CON THE MOVIE . The film was released domestically in South Korea on June 21, 2023, and exclusively premiered in theaters through CGV Cinemas. [21] Its overseas release is scheduled to take place in the same year on only August 9 and 12. [22]

Report: Ado bedazzles Los Angeles with first world tour “Wish”

On March 29, Ado brought magic to Los Angeles while journeying on her first world tour Wish , powered by CrunchyRoll . The acclaimed virtuosa brought down the sold-out Peacock Theater for over 7,000 attendees, some clad with merch, many others decked out in full Ado cosplay, who all flooded the hall with a sea of blue and red light sticks.

Ado got her start as an “utaite”, a singer who mainly posts covers for the online Vocaloid community. She reached a broader audience in 2020 with her debut digital single Usseewa , which stole the scene with a number one spot on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 chart. Ado was only seventeen years old at the time.

Since then, Ado has only ascended higher with countless hits, even providing the singing voice for the character Uta in the 2022 anime blockbuster One Piece Film: Red . Throughout her rise to international fame, her identity has remained a closely guarded secret. When performing live, her figure appears no more visible than a backlit shadow projected onto the gauzy drape over the “Ado Box”, a massive cage fitted with its own lighting that dances and flashes along to every song…

The moment Ado glides onto stage, her face hidden by a traditional Japanese umbrella, sends shivers of anticipation down our spines. Perhaps because her identity is shrouded in mystery, we’re all the more enthralled to realize that she is actually there, sharing her voice in person. The crowd roars at her entrance. The enthusiasm only grows as she opens with Shin Jidai , an uplifting theme for One Piece Film: Red , with a wispy falsetto that climbs into a soaring chorus.

Cheers erupt as the final beat segues flawlessly into the iconic Usseewa . Ado plasters line after line with her aggressive vocals, gradually morphing the melody into guttural growls, which show off her incredible vocal versatility.

Although she sings within a cage, she commands the space like a queen on her throne. We only see her silhouette–a slim figure caped in a loose duster and donning flared pants–but her personality and attitude shine through her power poses, playful choreography, and dramatic gestures. At times she even utilizes the floor, such as when she collapses in the third track Lucky Bruto . Her heeled boots kick back and forth coquettishly in contrast to the dark imagery of handcuffs on the screen behind her.

As the night proceeds with staples Readymade , Rebellion , Utakata Lullaby , and Motherland , Ado’s four-piece support band ignites sparks with mesmerizing musicianship. Bassist Naoki Kobayashi and drummer Ryunosuke Morita snap and punch with laser precision. Meanwhile, guitarist Takafumi Koukei shreds dizzying solos while holding his Telecaster high in the air. The spunky pianist Sara Wakui steals our breath again and again, bopping and leaping across keyboards while beaming an ear-to-ear smile to the crowd in disbelief.

While some of Ado’s lyrics are so fast-paced, they’re almost a rap, the easy-going Gira Gira invites everyone to chant along. Then, she flips the mood fast enough to give us whiplash, throwing everything she has into the screams in Tot Musica . Bending so far back, she makes us all wonder how she keeps herself from toppling onto her head. And how do her vocal cords come out unscathed night after night? This transitions immediately into the soft opening to a cover of Kikuo’s Aishite Aishite Aishite , which crescendos into a maniacal waltz.

A brief water break encases the Ado Box in solid blue. The digital curtains then part, revealing utopian golden skies and a greeting from the anthemic Watashi wa Saikyou . The punk-ish spirit carries onward into the cynical Ashura-chan , which brings all of Peacock Theater to raise their hands and waive to the beat in unison. The brassy, breakneck Kura Kura completes the trifecta, recounting imagery of the whimsical land of espionage from the anime series SPY x FAMILY .

After the TeddyLoid remix of Yoru no Pierrot and KokoroToluNaNoFukakai , Ado treats us to another cover, Mayonaka no Door~Stay With Me . The video backdrop converts to a retro 4:3 format, and a glittery, overexposed karaoke stock footage accompanies Ado’s reimagining of Miki Matsubara’s 1980 single.

Ado took few breaks, plowing through the setlist with incredible endurance. She pauses only once to address concert goers before the last song of the main set. With thoughtfully rehearsed English, she thanks everyone for coming to see her show.

“Hello everyone! I’m Ado! This tour marks my first trip outside Japan!” For Los Angeles, she notes in particular her chance to enjoy Santa Monica beach . An endearing moment of frustration also surfaces when she can’t remember a particular word to describe her experience. (Don’t worry Ado, it happens to all of us, even as native English speakers!)

“Have you been to Japan?” Ado asks. Many scream affirmative. “Tokyo, Osaka, Okinawa, Hokkaido…” It becomes clear that Ado, despite standing behind a veil, radiates with joy and love to the people who embrace not only her music but also Japanese culture as a whole.

The 2023 smash single Show closes out her heartfelt speech, igniting an explosion from the stage all the way to the last row in the balcony. The sitar-laced downbeats unite the entire hall–women and men and non-gender conforming, parents and kids, lifers and casuals–to clap and groove to the signature zombie shuffle.

Ado and her band return for a robust four-song encore, including Gyakkou , FREEDOM , and the long-awaited cover of Kurousa-P’s Senbonzakura . As part of her final message to fans, she reveals a bit of vulnerability, sharing her roots as a passionate utaite surrogate singer who dedicated herself to the “utattemita” cover artist community.

“Thank you for respecting my music. I’ll come back again! See you soon!” With this, she launches into her album’s lead track Odo featuring a special dance beat intro, the evening’s true finale.

In an era of smartphones when we’re all constantly documenting our lived experiences for someone else, being unable to access our devices during the concert led to a strange feeling (they were sealed in special Yondr pouches as per venue and staff regulation). But it also brought together countless music lovers and tied us to the present in a way that we couldn’t have possibly experienced when living a concert through our screens. Although the strict prohibition of cameras or recording equipment was understandable for the sake of the artist, this refreshing change pulled everyone into Ado’s universe.

Considering the sold-out booking in each major city, Ado’s tour would be an incredible feat for any artist, even more so for one on her first overseas tour. Missy Elliott's 1st-ever headlining tour coming to LA; Busta Rhymes, Ciara, Timbaland to join

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Missy Elliott is about to do something she's never done in her 30-year career: She's heading out on her very first tour as the headliner!

The hip-hop icon, who has sold 40 million records worldwide, will perform in 24 cities this year, and she'll be in good company. Busta Rhymes, Ciara and Timbaland are joining her for this musical ride.

"Out of This World: The Missy Elliott Experience Tour" kicks off July 4 in Vancouver.

The tour will be here at L.A.'s Crypto.com Arena on July 11.

Elliott said, "Fans have been asking me to tour forever but I wanted to wait until I felt the time was right because I knew if I was ever going to do it, I had to do it big!"

K-pop fans are in for a treat this year, with popular groups and artists like IU , NCT Dream , and Aespa scheduled to perform in Singapore. To add on to the ever-growing list of concerts happening on our sunny island, Hwasa will be performing at The Star Theatre on June 22, 2024, as part of her first fan concert tour, titled Twits – a nod to both her solo debut single and affectionate nickname for her fans. 

The powerhouse vocalist first debuted as part of renowned girl group Mamamoo, where she gained popularity due to her unique vocals, spirited personality, and unwavering confidence. Since then, she has gone on to launch her solo career, with her debut single Twit topping South Korean Gaon’s (now known as Circle Chart) music charts in the top three categories – Gaon Digital, Gaon Download, and Gaon Streaming. Hwasa’s successful solo debut has also led her to win the esteemed Best Solo Artist Award at the Golden Disc Awards, and Best Dance Performance Solo at the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA).

Earlier this year, the rumors, hopes, and speculation that Colombian pop icon Shakira would headline Coachella in 2024 were shut down after Coachella reportedly declined to book the singer for the gig. While the news disappointed fans, who would have loved to see Shakira at the top of the bill, one of her biggest advocates once again had her back.

Argentine record producer and songwriter Bizarrap extended a special invitation to Shakira to perform their collaboration, “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53.” This joint performance, of the diss track aimed at Shakira’s ex-partner, footballer Gerard Piqué, marked a significant return for the pop icon, who hadn’t released an album since “El Dorado” in 2017.

The song, which reached No. 1 in 16 countries, was a milestone for both Bizarrap and Shakira. It became Bizarrap’s first Top 10 single and Shakira’s fifth, and also her first all-Spanish track, on the US Billboard Hot 100 since “Beautiful Liar” with Beyoncé.

Shakira rose from a podium during the performance with the Argentine DJ’s primary background screen reading, “La Loba Se Viene” (“The She-Wolf is coming”). The crowd erupted with screams while they both kicked the performance into full gear. After the collaborative set ended, Shakira shared an emotional thank you and a message of gratitude to her fans and Bizrrap for inviting her to perform at the festival. Before dancing off the stage, she announced her world tour promoting her latest album, “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran.”

There is no doubt that Shakira is slated to become a stadium sellout act and perhaps this was the festival’s last chance to book her before then. But who knows? Although she didn’t get the much-deserved headlining spot, the performance is just another example of how Shakira continues to handle whatever is thrown her way. La Loba might, in fact, return.

LA Wildlife Crossing construction prompts freeway closures

The world’s largest Wildlife Crossing project in Los Angeles is nearing a construction milestone.

The pieces for the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing over the 101 Freeway will start installation next week. 

As about 300,000 drivers use this section of the 101 everyday, Caltrans is trying to minimize the disruption by preparing the community ahead of the closures with a meeting Thursday night to answer any questions.

The first phase will close down the southbound lanes near Liberty Canyon Road beginning April 15. This will take place Monday through Friday from 11:59 p.m. to 5 a.m. for the next several weeks before moving to the northbound lanes.

“We hope it sets the precedent for the type of overcrosses we can build down the line not just for us but other states and across the nation,” said Mark Bischoff, a public information officer for Caltrans District 7.

The closures will allow Caltrans to place 82 girders above the freeway that extend from the median to the shoulder, which will be the foundation for the wildlife bridge. This is expected to take eight weeks to complete.

Construction for the crossing started last year, but these concrete girders are the first visual milestone that give us an idea of what the Wildlife Crossing will look like. 

“Wildlife is facing every threat possible. We are at a biodiversity collapse right now,” said National Wildlife Federation Director Beth Pratt.

The National Wildlife Federation and Caltrans first proposed this project in 2015 to help restore the habitat that has been negatively impacted by development in the Santa Monica Mountains.

Dozens of mountain lions have been killed by cars over the years and have been at risk of extinction. 

The most significant example is the death of P-22, who was iconic for roaming the Hollywood Hills. P-22 was euthanized in 2022 after health issues and injuries from getting hit by a car. 

Conservationists say his legacy will live on with this project that will ensure the future for all wildlife.

“When this bridge is completed, you’ll have all these people driving in the morning or evening or whenever a mountain lion could be walking over it. A fox, coyote, butterfly, could be landing on a milkweed,” said Pratt.

Extensive studies by the National Wildlife Federation demonstrate how reconnecting animals’ habitats helps them to survive and thrive.

The Wildlife Crossing is expected to be completed in 2026.

Caltrans is hosting a public meeting at the Agoura Hills City Hall from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday to answer questions about the impact for drivers during construction.

Drivers can also use Caltrans’ QuickMap service to see a detailed list of the closures and detours.
