Men’s Best Travel Underwear - Man on chair

Key Takeaways

  • Prioritize breathability and comfort, allowing for good air circulation and keeping the wearer cool and dry in hot and cold weather.
  • Quick-drying or wicking underwear made from synthetic materials is preferable, as it dries in a few hours compared to cotton underwear, which takes around 24 hours to dry.
  • Durability and odor control are essential factors to consider when choosing travel underwear, with synthetic and semi-synthetic fabrics often being more durable and some wool underwear offering natural anti-odor properties.
  • The best travel underwear options for men include ExOfficio Give-N-Go Boxer Briefs, Saxx Vibe Boxer Briefs, Smartwool Merino 150 Boxer Briefs, Icebreaker Anatomica Boxers, and Uniqlo AIRism Low-Rise Boxer Briefs.

Table of Contents

Men’s best travel underwear.

Consider options like ExOfficio Give-N-Go Boxer Briefs or Saxx Vibe Boxer Briefs. These briefs are specifically designed to meet the needs of travelers, providing comfort and functionality.

The ExOfficio Give-N-Go Boxer Briefs are made with a lightweight, quick-drying fabric that is perfect for travel. They also feature an antimicrobial treatment to control odor, making them ideal for longer trips without access to laundry facilities.

Another great option is the Saxx Vibe Briefs, which offer a supportive fit and are made with a blend of soft modal fabric and spandex.

For those who prefer natural fibers, merino wool underwear such as Smartwool Merino 150 Briefs can provide excellent moisture-wicking properties and temperature regulation while still being lightweight enough for travel.

Considerations When You Buy Underwear for Travel

When buying underwear for travel, there are several key considerations to keep in mind.

First and foremost is comfort; you’ll want a pair that feels good against your skin and provides all-day comfort.

Additionally, breathability is crucial to help wick away sweat and keep you cool and dry throughout your travels.

Durability is also essential, especially if you wear underwear for multiple days without access to laundry facilities.

Lastly, consider the drying time and weight of the underwear, as quick-drying materials can reduce the number of pairs needed and lighten your luggage load.

To ensure your comfort during travel, it’s important to choose travel underwear that provides good air circulation and keeps you cool and dry. The best underwear is designed with breathable materials that wick away sweat, making them suitable for hot and cold weather.

Investing in a good pair of underwear for travel may be more expensive, but it is worth it for the enhanced overall experience. Not only can they be worn at home, but they also provide comfort during long journeys.

Quick-drying travel underwear is ideal as it reduces the need for multiple pairs and decreases weight in your backpack or luggage .

Breathability

Ensure your comfort during travel by choosing breathable underwear that allows for good air circulation and keeps you cool and dry.

Regarding men’s travel underwear, breathability is a crucial factor to consider. Opt for quick-dry travel underwear made from synthetic materials that wick away sweat and moisture, ensuring you stay comfortable throughout your journey.

Another excellent option is Merino wool underwear, known for its natural breathability and moisture-wicking properties. These types of quick-drying underwear are ideal for hot climates or intense physical activities where sweating is inevitable.

Investing in breathable and moisture-wicking underwear lets you say goodbye to discomfort caused by trapped sweat and hello to a more enjoyable travel experience.

Durability and Fabric

Invest in durable underwear that can withstand the rigors of travel and provide long-lasting comfort. When choosing  durable underwear, look for materials that are known for their strength and resilience, such as:

1. Cotton: Cotton underwear is breathable, comfortable, and typically lasts a long time. Look for cotton underwear with a high thread count for added durability. 2. Modal: Modal is a semi-synthetic fabric from beech tree pulp. It is known for its softness and ability to retain shape even after multiple washes. 3. Nylon: Nylon is a synthetic material known for its strength and durability. It is often used in athletic underwear due to its moisture-wicking properties. 4. Polyester: Like nylon, polyester is a durable synthetic material resistant to shrinkage and wrinkling. It is often blended with other fabrics to enhance their durability. 5. Merino wool: While not a traditional choice for underwear, merino wool is a natural fiber that is both soft and highly durable. It is known for its ability to regulate body temperature and resist odors.

In addition to choosing underwear made from durable materials, consider checking for reinforced stitching, double layers in high-friction areas (such as the crotch), and high-quality elastic waistbands. It’s also essential to follow the care instructions provided by the manufacturer to ensure the longevity of your underwear.

Drying Time

When choosing your travel panties, consider the drying time, as it can significantly impact your convenience and comfort during your journey. The best men’s travel underwear is designed to dry quickly, allowing you to wash them on the go and wear them again in no time.

Quick-dry underwear is usually made from synthetic or semi-synthetic fabrics with moisture-wicking properties. These materials help draw sweat away from your body and accelerate evaporation, resulting in shorter dry times.

Cotton underwear takes longer to dry, which may not be ideal if you’re constantly moving. Opting for a quick-drying underwear option will save you time and ensure fresh undies are always ready.

Opt for lightweight options to minimize the weight of your travel gear.

Not only does lightweight underwear reduce the overall weight in your luggage or backpack, but it also adds to your comfort during long journeys.

Men can opt for ExOfficio Give-N-Go, Saxx Vibe, or Icebreaker Anatomica Boxers as their go-to travel underwear.

These options are designed with super lightweight materials that won’t weigh you down while providing all-day comfort and support.

Remember to pack light for a hassle-free journey.

Choose a material that is lightweight and breathable for your travel underwear. Regarding travel undies, the material you choose significantly affects your overall comfort.

The ExOfficio Give-N-Go Boxers, which we tested, is made of synthetic fabric that is quick-drying and moisture-wicking. This means they will keep you dry and comfortable throughout your travels.

On the other hand, cotton underwear tends to trap sweat and takes longer to dry, making it less ideal for travel. If you prefer natural fibers, wool underwear is also a great option, as it is breathable and has natural anti-odor properties.

So when selecting your travel undies, opt for materials like synthetic or wool that offer breathability and quick drying capabilities.

You should consider options like ExOfficio Give-n-go Boxer Briefs, SAXX Vibe Boxer Briefs with Built-in Pouch Support, and SAXX Daytripper Boxer Briefs with Built-in Pouch Support. These underwear provide excellent comfort and support during your travels, ensuring you stay cool and dry.

Other options worth considering are DAVID ARCHY Breathable Boxer Briefs and 2UNDR Swing Shift Boxer Trunks. These underwear offer a combination of breathability and durability for extended wear.

How to Choose the Best Under Clothing Travel Pouches

With so many available choices online—most of them even sporting the very same model—it can be difficult to decide on which one is the best. While tastes can be a subjective matter, a good under clothing travel pouch should at least cover these three basic features.

Those items include your ID/passport, cards, and some cash. Thankfully, most of the under clothes travel pouches are designed to hold those items just fine.

This feature is the one that can really narrow down your choices to the best ones. Companies can always get it right when it comes to the size and compartments, but when it comes to comfort, not everyone makes the cut. Since you’re going to shop online and can’t try it properly, reading the reviews of its past users can be very helpful. If you have no time for that, we’re here to help you!

Herschel Fourteen Waist Pack (1.0L)

Herschel’s Waist Pack comes in several different sizes and their Fourteen Waist Pack is the best pick for an under clothing travel pouch. Coming from one of the most popular accessory companies, you can expect extensive choices of designs and colors. Other travel pouches simply do not give you all the fun and vibe like Herschel’s design does.

First things first, this may be the least discreet under clothes travel pouch. If you wear it under your shirt, it will likely form the bulk and is not so hidden. Even so, it’s still among the safest choices since you’re always going to have it with you at all times. The main compartment holds a lot of different items, along with your traveling essentials, you can easily fit sunglasses inside. Thanks to its long, adjustable strap, you can adjust it to find your best fit.

An all-around functional travel pouch—with great design and choices of colors.

  • Very stylish and holds a lot of items
  • Not too bulky
  • Extensive choices of designs and colors
  • Long, adjustable strap
  • Comes in a perfect size for travel
  • Some users complained about durability issues

10 Best Underwear Bags For Traveling

pouch travel underwear

There’s something exciting about breaking a mundane routine and traveling. Whether you’re headed to an old neighborhood to spend time with family and friends, or an exotic vacation spot, you know you can’t leave home without packing.

But packing can bring up some problems. If you always get upset when arriving at your destination with crushed bras and a mess of underwear you know the struggle is real. Underwear has a knack for roaming into strange places in a suitcase.

Then there’s the issue of unpacking your goodies in dusty hotel drawers which isn’t always an appealing option. Digging through a mess of unorganized underwear is not a fun way to kick start your holiday or vacation.

If you want to take the frustration out of packing, then you need to be introduced to the best underwear travel bags. Once you get your hands on one, you won’t know how you ever went without this lifesaving organizer.

Top 10 Best Underwear Travel Bags

1. jj power large compartment underwear travel bag and bra organizer.

JJ Power Large Compartment Underwear Travel Bag and Bra Organizer

Pro: Very sturdy. Con: Maybe too small for large bras.

Durable: JJ Power’s travel organizer is perfect for panties, socks, and some bras. The pockets are roomy. You can even use some of the pockets as a place to store feminine products.

It’s large enough to hold your intimate apparel and other needed accessories. Plus, it’s light enough to put in a suitcase. The durability is also phenomenal. This organizer is definitely built to last. The color selection is beautiful.

On the flip side, the size is a bit small. Remedy this issue by saving granny panties for the house. Pack your smaller thongs, briefs, and seamless panties instead.

2. Freegrace Underwear Travel Bag and Bra Organizer

Freegrace Underwear Travel Bag and Bra Organizer

Pro: Spacious. Con: A little floppy.

Multiple compartments: Freegrace’s underwear travel bag is an excellent product for travel. It has a lot of little compartments. You’ll have plenty of space to stack underwear and multiple bras.

There’s a large compartment, pockets, and smaller zippered compartments for all of your essentials. It’s so spacious that you can tuck other things in like socks. This organizer will free up more space in your suitcase for clothing.

Plus, it's lightweight and the quality is nice. You can get creative and use it to pack vitamins, supplements, and medications on a trip. You’ll have everything you need at your fingertips and be able to look over what you packed in the blink of an eye.

This underwear travel bag is so amazing you’ll want to buy it for friends who like to travel too. On the other hand, this travel bag is a bit larger than some other brands. Prevent this from being an issue by using the larger compartment to store items that would take up more room in your suitcase.

3. Sacstar Underwear Travel Bag and Bra Organizer

Sacstar Underwear Travel Bag and Bra Organizer

Pro: Great quality. Con: Not sturdy.

Stretchy netting: Sacstar’s travel organizer for underwear is designed to store any size of underwear. It has more than enough space so you can pack extra knickers in the little compartments.

You’ll be able to keep everything organized while saving much-needed space. This is an awesome product that you’ll get a lot of use out of. If you decide to keep bras in this organizer, rest assured that they won’t get smashed.

The downside is that the material is soft and may not protect bras from being squished. Keep this from being an issue by not storing bras in this organizer.

4. Travelon Multi-Purpose Underwear Travel Bag and Bra Organizer

Travelon Multi-Purpose Underwear Travel Bag and Bra Organizer

Pro: Deep cube. Con: Has a chemical smell.

Removable nylon pouch: Travelon’s underwear organizer is made from a lightweight, water and stain-resistant ripstop. It includes piped edges for structure and folds flat for easy storage. You can fit underwear, bras, and socks for a least a week-long trip.

The size is perfect so you can fit it in your suitcase or carry on. If you use it in a carry on you’ll still have plenty of space for rolled-up pants and blouses. As soon as you get to your hotel you can easily take the bag out of your carry-on and stick it in a drawer.

You won’t miss those days of searching through luggage for one pair of panties stuck in a corner of your suitcase. You’ll love how organized it keeps your stuff and how you’ll still have room for a couple of other items.

On the flip side, the mesh pockets may be too deep and narrow. Remedy this issue by rolling panties like a cigar to get them in and out easily.

5. Alena Culian Waterproof Underwear Travel Bag and Bra Organizer

Alena Culian Waterproof Underwear Travel Bag and Bra Organizer

Pro: Easy to carry. Con: Shallow compartment.

Large capacity: This organizer has soft nylon material and a durable zipper closure that gives all-round protection for your unmentionables. Durable waterproof material offers an added layer of protection when you take this bag in the bathroom.

It’s easy to snatch this from your bag and take it to the shower without having to rummage through a suitcase for your underwear. Those days of destroying your bag to find a pair of panties are over.

This organizer is expandable, collapsible, and works as designed. Overall, the quality is great and you can fit a lot in the bag.

On the other hand, if you’re a curvy chic with 36DD underwire bras in your wardrobe, you may find that the compartment isn’t long enough to fit your bras. Stop this from being an issue by taking advantage of the versatility of the travel bag and use the compartment to fit socks and other smaller items.

6. Amazon Basics Underwear and Clothes Travel Bag

Amazon Basics Underwear and Clothes Travel Bag

Pro: High-quality fabric. Con: Color bleeds.

Versatile: This is an excellent organizer for guys who plan on hitting the local or hotel gym after arriving at their destination. Amazon Basic’s four-piece organizer bags are perfect for your sports clothes, underwear, socks, and shoes.

These cubes organize your clothing items and compress them so you can pack more into your luggage. The cubes are great at stretching to accommodate everything you can throw inside them.

Don’t worry about having any difficulty zipping them up or getting rips or tears in the mesh. This is a well-made set of cubes.

On the flip side, the size of the bags is a little awkward. Keep this from being an issue by stacking the bags from the largest to smallest.

7. JJ Power Travel Bag Organizer

JJ Power Travel Bag Organizer

Pro: Durable double stitching. Con: Runs small.

Breathable Mesh Design: JJ Power created an underwear travel bag that compresses 30% of the volume of whatever you put in the cubes. You get seven cubes of different sizes so you can organize more than your underwear. You’ll be able to compact, organize, and re-pack everything without breaking a sweat.

These cubes make packing easy while providing much-needed neatness and organization to your luggage. You’ll also have peace of mind knowing you’ll be able to open your luggage and find all of your stuff neatly in place even after the airline tossed your luggage around.

The downside is that this set of cubes is not very durable especially if you travel a lot. However, the cost is reasonable so you could purchase a second set when the other cubes start to show wear.

8. Gonex Compression Travel Bag Organizer

Gonex Compression Travel Bag Organizer

Pro: Wear-resistant. Con: Seams may split.

Webbing handle: Gonex’s organizing cubes make life so much easier when you’re traveling. The material is supported by strong stitching. A mesh design allows you to find what you want at one glance.

The cubes create a lot more room in your suitcase. The cubes are well made. The stitching is precise and even and all the seams are bound. Plus, there are no loose thread ends.

Also, the zippers are heavy duty and work easily. On the other hand, only the sides get compressed. If you need to have the top part compressed as well, you can simply place a larger piece of clothing over the organizer to create a flatter top.

9. Bagsmart Travel Packing Bag

Bagsmart Travel Packing Bag

Pro: Lightweight material. Con: Narrow design.

Retains shape: Bagsmart crafted a thick, well-constructed organizer with a beautiful design. The lightweight bag stays in the box shape, which makes it is easier to contain folded underwear and clothes. Plus, it feels expensive, not flimsy.

Whether you travel for a weekend or a month, you’ll benefit from adding these cubes to your luggage. Finally, packing can feel like a dream come true instead of a nightmare.  All of your underwear, clothing, and accessories are kept well organized.

Although this travel bag is great for storing underwear, the downside is that it doesn’t hold much. Remedy this issue by using this bag for short trips instead of long ones.

10. Gonex Underwear Travel Packing Bag Organizer

Gonex Underwear Travel Packing Bag Organizer

Pro: RipStop nylon fabric. Con: Threads may fray.

Compact: Gonex’s underwear travel bags have a lot of excellent features. The seams are strong and it’s easy to zip the bag due to the double zippers. Plus, the zippers don't get caught around corners.

There’s a good balance of mesh and fabric. There’s not so much mesh that it tears around the seams and the fabric is very durable. You can wash these organizers several times without worrying about the construction falling apart.

On the other hand, the mesh doesn’t cover the entire top so you can only see through a portion of the bag. Keep this from being an issue by only putting underwear in these organizers so you know exactly what to expect when you open the travel bag.

Best Travel Underwear for Men

Posted by Keith Langston December 31, 2023 Updated March 06, 2024

We research, test and evaluate outdoor gear based on a number of factors, including our writers’ experience and expertise, trusted user reviews and more. We may earn a commission when you make a purchase through our links. See our editorial policy to learn more.

Whether you like briefs or trunks, a man needs a solid pair of underwear when traveling, and these six pairs offer everything a good adventurer needs.

That pack of whitey-tighties you bought at Target was probably a good bargain, but they’re not exactly ideal if you have travel plans in your future. Standard cotton traps moisture (and odor), and the fit of standard underwear doesn’t exactly help with mobility or flexibility.

What we need when we’re traveling (whether it’s on a plane or along a trail) is underwear that can wick away moisture while being super comfortable and flexible. In some scenarios, you’ll want heavier, warmer underwear, and in others, you’ll want something light and breezy.

Read on to find the six best pairs of travel underwear for men – I also recently reviewed the best travel shorts for men if you’re interested in completing the outfit.

  • Best all-around men’s travel underwear: Mack Weldon AIRKNIT Boxer Briefs
  • Best men’s travel underwear for staying warm: Smartwool Intraknit Boxer Brief
  • Best budget men’s travel underwear: Wirarpa Ultra-Soft Briefs

  • Best natural and sustainable men’s travel underwear: Free Fly Bamboo Motion Boxer Briefs

Best all-around men’s travel underwear

Mack weldon airknit boxer briefs.

Mack Weldon boxer briefs

A lot of underwear, especially athletic underwear, are sold as being “lightweight”, but trust me, you’ve never worn a lighter pair of underwear than Mack Weldon’s AIRKNIT boxer briefs (they also come in briefs). Made with a waffle-like knit fabric, these underwear are unbelievably stretchy and soft. They move with your body, don’t bunch up, and don’t feel constricting.

Plus, the brand’s AIRKNIT fabric is made from nylon microfibers that are both moisture-wicking and odor-fighting, so they don’t just feel good, but they’re also built for performance. These certainly aren’t the cheapest pair of underwear out there, but they are absolutely worth the price.

Best men’s travel underwear for cold weather

Smartwool intraknit boxer brief.

Smartwool boxer briefs

Smartwool is known for their high-quality merino products and has long been a favorite for outdoors enthusiasts. Their Intraknit boxer briefs are also perfect for anyone who will be spending time outdoors during their travels – especially in cooler weather. The TENCEL fabric combines a blend of materials like merino and lyocell to create a very stretchy yet relatively thick pair of underwear. They form to your body and have minimal seams to reduce chafing (another great addition if wearing under layers during cold weather).

What makes them so great is that they’re both breathable thanks to the fabric, while also being snug and thick. They’re warm yet ventilated, which is exactly what you want. These are the most expensive pair on the list coming in at $50, but remember that these are performance underwear designed with a purpose and aren’t just any old pair of Hanes.

Best budget men’s travel underwear

Wirarpa ultra-soft briefs.

Wirarpa underwear

If you are looking for a cheaper option, Wirarpa is a brand you should check out. I originally had no idea what these underwear were, but I kept noticing guys in the locker room wearing them and they looked super soft and lightweight. After searching on Amazon, I saw that they have a 4.5-star rating based on almost 19,000 reviews…which is pretty damn impressive.

That was a little over a year ago and since then these have become my go-to for daily wear. I’ve worn these while hiking in Wisconsin, at the gym, on airplanes, during long drives, and pretty much everywhere in between. They’re soft, stretchy, comfy, breathable, and have held up really well in the year I’ve owned them. Plus, they’re super cheap. Does it get any better than that? These are also available as a trunk.

Best athletic men’s travel underwear

Bn3th pro boxer brief.

BN3TH boxer briefs

For starters, we need to talk about what made BN3TH famous – their ball pouch. It sounds like a gimmick at first, but BN3TH makes their underwear differently, having specially-made ball pouches that don’t smoosh your banana and walnuts up against your body, and instead give them a dedicated space to have room to breathe, while also being secure and kept in place.

On top of that, the pro boxer briefs have an anti-friction finish to avoid static and bunching and are made with a breathable mesh fabric that’s comprised of 89% recycled polyester. For the guy who loves being active (or just wants their goodies to feel comfy on a long journey), these are an excellent choice.

Best boxers for men’s travel

Rei co-op everyday boxer briefs.

REI co-op mens boxer briefs

Personally, I really like briefs, but not everyone does. Some guys still love old-school boxers, and if you’re one of them then you’ll want one of REI’s co-op boxer briefs. Yes, these are boxer briefs and not boxers. But trust me, traditional boxers aren’t fun when traveling. When you’re on-the-go, when you’re sweating, when you’re constantly moving (and often wearing the same outfit for the entire day), you don’t want loose cotton boxers underneath your pants getting all sweaty and bunched up.

But if you like the loose feel of boxers, REI’s boxer briefs are a great choice. They’re more relaxed than other boxer briefs and they even have a functional fly. Plus, being made of polyester, they’re much softer and smoother than traditional boxers, meaning you’ll be way more comfy.

Best natural and sustainable men’s travel underwear

Free fly bamboo motion boxer briefs.

Free Fly boxer briefs

Lightweight, flat-seamed, and complete with a four-way stretch design. Already these are a great pair of underwear. But these boxer briefs are even better because they’re made using sustainable organic bamboo. Bamboo literally grows like a weed…worse than a weed actually, able to grow 3-feet in a single day. It doesn’t need fertilizer or pesticides, it doesn’t even need much water – it’s an excellent sustainable alternative to cotton.

But the Motion Boxer Brief isn’t your standard bamboo underwear either. They’re not barky, rough, or fibrous. They’re soft…very, very soft. Some of the softest underwear I own. These are also true boxer briefs, not trunks, so they’re a bit longer than the other pairs on this list, making them perfect for guys who like the longer fit.

The 10 Best Pouch Underwear (For Extra Support)

Published on July 27, 2022 by Brian Adee · Clothing and Style May contain affiliate links ( what's this? )

Wanna try pouch underwear but aren’t sure where to start? We’ve got you covered! Here are the 10 best pouch underwear options.

Table of Contents

Best Pouch Underwear

Men’s underwear has come a long way since the days of choosing between tighty whities or boxers. Now, there’s a whole range of colors, patterns, styles, and materials to choose from — the best of which might be pouch underwear.

By offering a little bit of extra support to your family jewels, the best pouch underwear make for a smoother and more comfortable ride all day long.

We’ve been wearing men’s underwear with pouches for a few years now, so we figured it was time to put our favorite brands together in one big review.

Here are our top three recommendations from the list:

Mack Weldon Stealth Boxer Brief

Mack Weldon’s Stealth Boxer Briefs' flyless MotionCTRL pouch is designed to give just the right blend of support and style. The hybrid seamless construction provides a scratch-free experience.

Hanes Ultimate Comfort Flex Fit Total Support Pouch Boxer Brief

Hanes Total Support Pouch underwear is the best choice if you’re looking to fill your underwear drawer without breaking the bank. They have an innovative breathable mesh liner that supports all-day comfort.

BN3TH Merino Wool Boxer Brief

BN3TH’s Merino Wool Boxer Brief has natural odor blocking and temperature regulating properties of merino wool, which makes these boxer briefs insanely cool and comfortable.

Read on for more info and the complete list…

Best Pouch Underwear

Here are the 10 best pouch underwears in particular order.

BN3TH Merino Wool Boxer Briefs

Though they clock in as some of the priciest underwear on this list, BN3TH’s Merino Wool Boxer Briefs are undoubtedly the most comfortable and luxurious choice.

BN3TH Merino Wool Boxer Briefs.jpeg

The natural odor blocking and temperature regulating properties of merino wool make these boxer briefs insanely cool and comfortable all day long.

BN3TH’s finely tuned pouches give just enough support (without looking like you’re trying to show off). These are the author’s daily underwear choice and come highly recommended.

All Citizens Paradise Pocket Boxer Briefs

On the opposite side of the price scale, you’ll find All Citizens’ Paradise Pocket Boxer Briefs . Don’t let their low price fool you: This pouch underwear offers a seriously comfortable ride with just the right amount of roominess.

All Citizens Paradise Pocket Boxer

Plus, they’re available in five different styles and dozens of colors — offering you a big ability to customize your underwear game to match your individual style. Great for buying in multiples once you know you like the pouch underwear design.

SAXX Daytripper Pouch Underwear

Offering a relaxed fit and flat-sewn seams, SAXX’s Daytripper Pouch Underwear is definitely made for all-day cruising.

SAXX Daytripper Pouch Underwear

Their BallPark Pouch is shaped like a hammock, providing long-lasting support for all your bits and pieces.

But, by adding breathable mesh panels on both sides of the pouch, these underwear take the style one step further to make sure that you’ll never have to deal with your boys sticking to the side of your leg on a hot summer day.

Mack Weldon Stealth Boxer Briefs

As one of the most restrained styles on this list, Mack Weldon’s Stealth Boxer Briefs might not even look like pouch underwear at first glance.

Mack Weldon Stealth Boxer Brief

That’s because their flyless MotionCTRL pouch is designed to give just the right blend of support and style — without placing your junk front and center for all to see.

The hybrid seamless construction really tops things off, making for a scratch-free experience every time you put them on.

Sheath Single Pouch Boxer Briefs

Sheath has so many different types of pouch underwear to choose from it was hard to pick just one for this roundup.

Sheath Single Pouch Boxer

Their Sports Performance Boxer Briefs are a fairly unique offering though, with an eight-inch inseam and horizontal fly that you won’t find in most other pouch underwear.

That makes them a great choice for wearing while you work out, and the modal/elastane construction will help to keep you dry and smelling fresh, too.

Hanes Total Support Pouch Underwear

Hanes has been making underwear longer than most of us have been alive, so it should come as no surprise that they can make a pretty solid pair of pouch underwear, too.

Hanes Total Support Pouch Underwear

They’re the most affordable pouch underwear on this list, due in large part to their recycled polyester construction.

Overall, they may not be quite as silky smooth as many of the other items featured here — but if you’re looking to fill your underwear drawer without breaking the bank, they’re the best choice for you.

Lululemon Always In Motion Underwear

The secret to Lululemon’s Always In Motion Underwear is in their unique fabric: A modal mesh that brings the best of breathability and stretch to a naturally antibacterial fiber.

Lululemon Always In Motion Boxer

They’re extra soft and quick-drying , too, with a modest pouch design that’s perfect for active days at the gym or on the trail. Just be sure you follow the care instructions to the letter if you want them to last as long as possible.

Tommy John Hammock Pouch Underwear

Tommy John was one of the first brands to use a hammock-shaped mesh pouch in their underwear, and their pouch underwear still meets and exceeds expectations daily.

Tommy John Sport hammock Pouch Boxer

They’re super lightweight and naturally antimicrobial, keeping you comfortable and stink-free every time you wear them. These will be an excellent choice for daily wear if you’re looking for a pair of underwear to take with you while you’re traveling.

Separatec Classic Bamboo Trunks

We didn’t include many pairs of dual-pouch underwear in this review (too many adjustments necessary), but Separatec’s Classic Bamboo Trunks definitely deserve your consideration.

Separatec Classic Bamboo Trunks

They have separate pouches for your member and your gonads, making absolutely certain that you’ll stay dry and chafe-free all day long.

All that, and they’re made with a naturally antimicrobial bamboo-based fabric for all-day freshness, too.

Rhone Everyday Essentials Boxer Briefs

The training gear gurus over at Rhone have really succeeded with the design of their Everyday Essentials Boxer Briefs .

Rhone Mens Boxer Briefs

They look like a standard pair of boxer briefs , but a tagless design and Supima cotton/modal fabric make them incredibly comfortable. Add in a pouch for extra aeration and cooling, and you get a pair of underwear you’re going to want to wear every day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to a couple of questions you might have about pouch underwear.

Hi, I bought some pouch underwear from New York that has a fish logo on the waistband. Do you have any idea what brand this could be? Thanks.

what I’m looking for probably doesn’t exist. need low rise so the band wont roll with my tire on the waist. average man size but looking for a pouch to support everybody without shrinking after every wash and with sweating. If clothes designers would put as much thought into grown up mens underwear there would probably be fewer wars.

10 Best Pouch Underwear – Ball Hammock Boxer Briefs 2024

We independently evaluate all recommended products and services. Any products or services put forward appear in no particular order. If you click on links we provide, we may receive compensation.

The verdict is in: not all underwear is great for your balls. Clothing designers took this fact to heart and developed the best pouch underwear with a freeing sack-sock (and in some cases a dick-pouch too) to protect your goods and support your sperm count. You can get everything from briefs to trunks with pouches nowadays, so the odds are great you’ll find a favorite pair of ball hammock underwear.

Just keep in mind that not all men are built the same. The best underwear for ball support on one man might fit like a sausage casing on another, and there are so many it can be hard to know what’s what. The upside? We did the research for you, so finding the best men’s pouch underwear for you should be a simple task.

All you need to do is take a good look at our guide, decide what you truly want from your pouch underwear, and order them up. We guarantee that if testicles could talk, they’d thank you.

  • Final Verdict

1. Best Overall Pouch Underwear: New Balance Pouch Boxer Briefs

Material: 90% Polyester, 10% Spandex | Sizes Available: XS-XL | Colors Available: Black, Blue, Grey, Yellow, + | Style: Dual Pouch

New Balance may not seem like the best underwear for ball support, but hear us out. These are the best pouch underwear overall. The high-quality polyester and spandex build is great for regulating and wicking away sack sweat , and the built-in pouch works double time to ensure optimal freedom and cooling.

Honestly, New Balance surprised us with some of the best men’s pouch underwear. We applaud them for taking the step beyond shoe design and into excellent undergarment creation.

2. Best Dual Pouch Underwear: Sheath Dual Pouch 4.0

Material: 92% Modal, 8% Spandex | Sizes Available: S-3XL | Colors Available: Black, Red, White, Blue, + | Style: Dual Pouch Boxer Brief

It makes sense that a company named Sheath has some of the best underwear with a ball pouch money can buy. And it isn’t just a witty name. The modal used in the construction of these beauties will leave you extra comfy when you sheath up your man-sword.

The dual pouch design is like a normal pouch on steroids. It doesn’t just separate your junk from your legs like the single; it keeps the frank away from the beans for prime dangleage, breathability, and testi freedom.

And yes, dangleage is a (great) new word.

3. Best Trunk Underwear with Pouch: New Balance No Fly Boxer Brief

Material: 90% Polyester, 10% Spandex | Sizes Available: S-XL | Colors Available: Blue, Red, Black, +   | Style: No Fly Trunks

If you’re picking up a pair of trunks , just remember you aren’t getting a typical boxer brief. Trunks are the middle child, right between boxer brief length and regular ol’ shorty briefs. Obviously, these trunks got the pouch treatment, so you’ll get the cooling and benefits of junk separation.

Keep in mind these trunks are no-fly, so you won’t be able to just bust it out at the urinal. You’re going to have to hit the stalls if you want to avoid pulling your boxers down to pee like a confused kindergartener.

4. Best Brief Pouch Underwear: David Archy Micro Modal Dual Pouch Briefs

Material: 92% Micro-modal, 8% Spandex | Sizes Available: S-XL | Colors Available: Black, Navy, Gray, Wine | Style: Dual Pouch Brief

David Archy remains one of the best men’s pouch underwear brands on Amazon, and these briefs are here to enforce that claim. They have the dual pouch design going on, so your dong and balls will have their own little caves. Plus, you don’t have to worry about overheating to sterility.

These are also some of the comfiest pairs of pouch underwear we’ve seen. If it ever says “micro-modal,” you can count on it being soft as hell. Even guys who don’t normally like briefs might want to try this pair out; they don’t squeeze everything together like normal briefs.

Though we will say it wouldn’t kill them to have a few more size options.

5. Best Affordable Pouch Underwear: Hanes Total Support Boxer Briefs

Material: 76% Polyester, 19% Tencel, 5% Spandex | Sizes Available: XS-XL | Colors Available: Black, Blue, Red, + | Style: Dual Pouch

Every skivvy-buying guy out there has worn or knows about Hanes. They’ve been a staple of American department stores for decades. When you try their Total Support boxer briefs, their ball-holding dynasty will make sense.

Hanes has kept up with the times with these pouch boxers. They do everything all the best men’s underwear for ball support does, just at a lower price. They might not last quite as long as pricier pairs, but for this low of an entry fee, you can’t go wrong.

6. Best Fun Pouch Underwear: Saxx Underwear Super Soft Boxer Briefs

Material: 95% Viscose, 5% Elastane | Sizes Available: XS-XXL | Colors Available: Black, Blue, Striped, +   | Style: Boxer Brief

When plain-old soft isn’t good enough anymore, Saxx Underwear is there to save your balls. These boxer briefs are as soft as the name implies, and they come in a bunch of fun colors and patterns. A surfing beach astronaut? Yes, please.

They’re made from 95% viscose, so you know they’re going to be cozy and flexible. They’re also odor resistant, so you won’t be haunted by stank. That said, you shouldn’t have too much sweat stink considering your sack will have its own personal lounge.

7. Best Sports Pouch Underwear: Separatec Dual Pouch Performance Boxer Briefs

Material: 84% Polyamide, 16% Spandex | Sizes Available: S-XL | Colors Available: 9 Colors | Style: Dual Pouch Boxer Brief

Separatec is one of those brands you mostly see on Amazon, but don’t let that scare you away. They make some of the best underwear for ball support you’ll ever wear. This performance dual pouch boxer brief is especially great for guys who are out playing sports without a jockstrap.

Not only does it have the dual pouch design to keep things cool and separated, but the quick-dry fabric dries up to three times faster than cotton and is 40% percent lighter to boot. The odor fighters will even keep away the dreaded swamp sack. If you’re looking to play ports in your pouch underwear, these are the best ball hammock underwear you can get.

8. Best Long Leg Pouch Underwear: Shinesty Long Leg Pouch Boxer Briefs

Material: 95% Modal, 5% Spandex | Sizes Available: XS-5XL | Colors Available: Black, Blue, Green, Patterns, + | Style: Long Leg Boxer Brief

Shinesty isn’t just reminiscent of Shadynasty’s (that’s for you, Always Sunny fans). It’s also some of the best underwear on our vast internet. We didn’t just choose these long-leg pouch boxer briefs because the modal is comfy, soft, affordable, and sports all the benefits of ball pouch underwear life.

We chose these bad boys because they have all of the above, plus some unique and witty designs. Want an elephant trunk adorning your man trunk? Get it here. Ever wanted to wear a slice of pumpkin pie as a jock strap? Today’s your lucky day because now you can. Thank us later.

9. Best Cotton Pouch Underwear: Separatec Cotton Pouch Everyday Boxer Briefs

Material: 95% Modal, 5% Spandex | Sizes Available: S-XXL | Colors Available: Black, Red, Navy, Green, + | Style: Boxer Brief

Some guys swear by cotton and just won’t wear anything else. Others have to do the same, thanks to fabric allergies. For both of you fellas, Separatec’s cotton boxer briefs are the best ball hammock underwear we’ve tried.

They aren’t technically 100% cotton, but they’re pretty damn close. They needed at least 4% spandex to achieve elasticity that won’t stretch out over time. They may seem a little pricey at first, but that’s until you realize you’re buying a seven-pack. The pack also comes with some great colors as a personalization bonus.

10. Best Bamboo Pouch Underwear: Bamboo Cool Bamboo Viscose Trunks

Material: 92% Bamboo Viscose, 8% Spandex | Sizes Available: S-3XL | Colors Available: Blue, Purple, Red, Black, +   | Style: Trunks

Guys who haven’t tried bamboo underwear , do yourself a favor and give them a shot. They’re much softer than most cotton, as breathable as micromodal, and as thin as it gets. It’s basically the Mythril of comfiness (Tolkien fans get it), i.e., it’s much better than basically everything else.

It’s surprising that bamboo clothes are still being marketed as a niche cooling fabric when it’s an all-around great material. It’s not the thickest, so it won’t keep you that warm, but they ace every other task. These are trunk length, but you can also find them in long-leg, boxer brief, and brief forms.

Oh yeah, these have all the fixings that come with the much-lauded ball hammock too. That’s kind of why they’re in this guide.

What To Look For When Searching For The Best Pouch Underwear

If you’re going to have something cradling your pearls all day, you should probably get a material you like. Cotton is always comfy, but don’t be scared of getting blends and polyesters either; they’re no longer just a cheap alternative.

Keep in mind breathability too. Some materials will allow more air to pass through than others, so make sure you pay attention while you read our guide to learn which materials are best for which situations.

Since we’re talking about pouch underwear as a whole, the style is going to make a huge difference in your experience. Some guys prefer the longer trunk, some the slightly shorter boxer briefs, and others might love the classic dad favorite, the brief.

If you aren’t sure which is ideal for you, give each of them a shot. Even if you don’t think you’d love a certain style, you might surprise yourself. Package size, of course, comes into play, too. The more you fill up a pair of pants, the more room you’ll need to avoid strangling your sausage.

Finally, color is the last big factor to consider. Everybody feels at least a little more confident when they’re rocking their favorite colors right down to the drawers. Black underwear is always a classy look. You’ve probably worn the white undies at some point in your life, so you know the classic look they come with.  Maybe some sexy red underwear if you’re trying to…make an impression.

Crazy colors or patterns are always fun too. Everybody loves a fun pair of underwear (not that we advise flashing the neighborhood). Even if nobody sees your awesome bigfoot-themed boxers, it’s a fun secret to have in your back pocket. And if you get “pants”, you’ll get pantsed in style.

Final Verdict

You might be in for a surprise, but the best ball pouch underwear we found overall belongs to the shoe masters (and now underwear masters) at New Balance. Their pouch boxer briefs are the perfect length, the material is breathable, and they’re comfy as hell comfy.

Last but far from least, they have an excellently designed pouch that will keep spider-sack at bay and your meat stick dangling happily.

Pouch underwear is basically men’s undies that have an actual pouch built in to cradle your junk. Tired of your balls sticking to your legs or underwear that bunches up into scrot crunching front-wedgies? Pouch underwear could be your savior. Worried about your sperm count lowering because your balls stay too warm stuck to your leg or squeezed into your crotch all day? Yeah, that’s a real thing.

You may have guessed, but the best pouch underwear can alleviate all of these issues. Sounds to us like some good reasons to try some of the best pouch underwear available.

First, and we all know this, not all men are built the same. That’s just what it is. And yes, we’re talking about your meat and potatoes. Guys with a bulging package or maxed-out gluteus maximus will want something they don’t feel constrained in. Those guys are going to need roomier pouch underwear than other fellas.

Other guys have a little more freedom with their purchases. If you’re an average height and “build,” feel free to shop around. Just be honest with yourself, guys; buying underwear with a huge pouch without needing it might make you a little self-conscious.

If you haven’t checked out the guide above, now is a great time to scroll up and give it a look. By the time you’re done, you’ll find the best pouch underwear for you.

Introduction, selecting the right underwear, preparing the underwear for packing, folding techniques for underwear, packing underwear in a suitcase, packing underwear in a carry-on bag, organizing underwear in a travel bag, tips for keeping underwear fresh.

When it comes to packing for travel, it’s important to have a systematic approach to ensure that every item fits neatly and securely in your suitcase. While some may overlook the significance of properly packing their underwear, it is an essential part of travel preparation. Not only does packing underwear properly help save space, it also helps to keep your undergarments organized and wrinkle-free. In this article, we will explore effective methods for packing underwear for travel, including selecting the right underwear, preparing them for packing, folding techniques, and organizing them in your luggage or carry-on bag.

Whether you’re heading on a weekend getaway or embarking on a long-haul adventure, selecting the right underwear for your trip is crucial. Consider the climate, duration of your travels, and the activities you’ll be engaging in. Opt for moisture-wicking and breathable fabrics like cotton or bamboo for warmer destinations, and thermal or wool-blend underwear for colder climates. Additionally, choose underwear that provides comfort and support, such as briefs, boxers, or boxer briefs , based on your personal preference.

Once you’ve chosen the appropriate underwear for your trip, it’s important to prepare them before packing. Start by giving them a thorough wash and allowing them to fully dry. This not only ensures cleanliness but also helps to reduce any unwanted odors during your travels. It’s also a good practice to fold your underwear neatly to minimize creases and optimize space in your suitcase or bag.

Now that your underwear is clean and dry, let’s explore some folding techniques that will make packing them a breeze. The simplest and most common method is the basic fold. Lay the underwear flat, fold the sides towards the center, and then fold it in half lengthwise. Alternatively, if you want to save even more space, try the bundle roll technique. Lay your underwear flat, fold one side towards the center, then fold the other side on top. Roll it up tightly from one end to the other, securing with a rubber band or hair tie if necessary.

When it comes to choosing the right underwear for your travel adventures, there are several factors to consider. From comfort to functionality, the type of underwear you pack can greatly enhance your overall travel experience. Here are some tips for selecting the right underwear:

  • Climate: Consider the weather conditions of your destination. For warmer climates, opt for lightweight, moisture-wicking fabrics like cotton or bamboo to help keep you cool and dry. For colder destinations, thermal or wool-blend underwear will provide warmth and insulation.
  • Duration of Travel: If you’re heading out for a short trip, you can pack a few pairs of underwear. However, if you’re planning an extended journey, it’s wise to invest in quick-drying underwear that you can wash and dry overnight.
  • Activities: Think about the activities you’ll be participating in during your trip. If you’re planning on hiking or engaging in outdoor activities, consider performance underwear that is designed for active wear and provides moisture management and support. For everyday casual activities, choose comfortable underwear that allows freedom of movement.
  • Comfort and Fit: Your comfort should be a priority when selecting underwear for your travels. Opt for styles that you feel most comfortable in, whether it’s briefs, boxers, or boxer briefs. Make sure the waistband isn’t too tight, and choose underwear with a proper contour or pouch to provide support where you need it most.
  • Packability: Look for underwear that is lightweight and doesn’t take up much space in your luggage. Some brands offer travel-friendly packs that are designed to be compact and easy to pack.

Remember, the right underwear can make a significant difference in your comfort and confidence while traveling. Take the time to choose underwear that suits your needs and preferences, ensuring that you have a comfortable and hassle-free journey from start to finish.

Before you start packing your underwear for travel, it’s important to take a few steps to prepare them. This will help ensure that your undergarments are clean, fresh, and ready for your trip. Here are some tips for preparing your underwear for packing:

  • Washing: Start by giving your underwear a thorough wash. This will remove any dirt, sweat, or odors that may have accumulated. Use a mild detergent and follow the care instructions on the labels. If you have access to a washing machine, consider using a gentle cycle. For delicate fabrics, handwashing may be necessary.
  • Drying: After washing, make sure to properly dry your underwear. Hanging them up to air dry is the best option, as it helps prevent shrinking and damage. If time allows, try to dry them in direct sunlight, as this can help naturally eliminate any remaining odors.
  • Organizing: Once your underwear is clean and dry, take a moment to organize them. Pair up matching socks and fold them neatly. This will make it easier to locate and access them when you need them during your trip.
  • Scented Pouches: To keep your underwear smelling fresh during your travels, consider placing scented pouches or sachets in your luggage. Lavender or other pleasant scents can help mask any odors and keep your underwear smelling delightful.
  • Storage Bags: Another way to keep your underwear organized and protected is to use storage bags. Ziplock bags or fabric pouches can be used to separate clean and dirty underwear, preventing any cross-contamination. They will also help keep your suitcase or bag organized throughout your journey.

By following these simple steps, you can ensure that your underwear is clean, fresh, and well-prepared for your travels. Taking the time to properly wash, dry, and organize your underwear will not only enhance your travel experience, but also help you feel comfortable and confident throughout your journey.

Properly folding your underwear is a crucial step in preparing them for packing. Not only does it help save space, but it also keeps your undergarments organized and wrinkle-free. Here are a few folding techniques you can use to neatly pack your underwear for travel:

  • Basic Fold: Lay your underwear flat on a clean surface. Fold the sides towards the center, creating a rectangle shape. Next, fold the underwear in half lengthwise, bringing the bottom edge up towards the waistband. This technique works well for most underwear styles and is straightforward to execute.
  • Bikini Fold: This folding technique is ideal for bikini or brief style underwear. Simply fold the front side of the underwear towards the back, aligning the waistband. Then, fold the sides of the underwear inward, creating a smaller, compact rectangle. This method is great for saving space and can be easily stacked or rolled.
  • Bundles: If you’re looking to maximize space and keep your underwear wrinkle-free, consider bundling them together. Lay your underwear flat on a clean surface, with one pair on top of the other. Start by folding the waistbands of both pairs towards the center, overlapping each other. Then, fold the sides inward, creating a tight bundle. Secure the bundle with a rubber band or hair tie to keep it in place.
  • Rolling: Rolling your underwear is an excellent technique for saving space and reducing creases. Start by folding the underwear in half lengthwise, as in the basic fold technique. Then, tightly roll the underwear from the waistband down to the hem. This method works well for various underwear styles and is especially useful if you have limited packing space.

Choose the folding technique that works best for your underwear style and packing preferences. Experiment with different methods to find the one that maximizes space and keeps your underwear organized. Remember to take extra care when folding delicate fabrics to prevent any damage or creasing.

By utilizing these folding techniques, you can ensure that your underwear remains neat and compact during your travels. This will not only help you keep your suitcase or bag well-organized, but also make it easier to locate and access your underwear when needed.

When it comes to packing your underwear in a suitcase, it’s important to utilize space efficiently while keeping them organized and easily accessible. Follow these tips for packing your underwear in a suitcase:

  • Use Packing Cubes: Packing cubes are a fantastic tool for organizing your suitcase and keeping your underwear separated from other items. Place folded or rolled underwear into separate packing cubes to keep them neatly contained.
  • Stacking Method: If you prefer to fold your underwear, stack them neatly in your suitcase. Start by placing heavier or bulkier items at the bottom, such as bras or padded underwear. Layer the remaining underwear on top, being careful not to overcrowd the space. Avoid overstuffing your suitcase, as it may lead to creasing or damage.
  • Maximize Shoe Space: Utilize the space inside your shoes to pack underwear. Roll or fold your underwear tightly and place them inside your shoes. This not only saves space but also helps protect your shoes from getting squashed during travel.
  • Consider Compression Bags: Compression bags are a great option for maximizing space in your suitcase. Place your folded or rolled underwear inside a compression bag and manually remove excess air, which will shrink the bag’s volume. This method is particularly useful if you have limited space in your suitcase.
  • Separate Clean and Dirty: To keep your clean and dirty underwear separate during your trip, consider using separate compartments or bags. You can use ziplock bags or reusable laundry bags to keep your dirty underwear contained and prevent any unwanted odors or stains from spreading.

Remember to pack your underwear towards the end of your packing process, after you have placed larger and bulkier items in your suitcase. By following these packing tips, you can ensure that your underwear stays organized, wrinkle-free, and easy to find throughout your journey.

Packing underwear in a carry-on bag requires careful consideration of space limitations and airline regulations. Follow these tips to efficiently pack your underwear in a carry-on bag:

  • Utilize Small Organizers: Maximize space in your carry-on bag by using small organizers, such as packing cubes or travel pouches. These will help keep your underwear neatly separated and easily accessible.
  • Consider Rollable Styles: Opt for underwear styles that are easily rollable, such as boxer briefs or bikini briefs . Rolling underwear not only saves space but also helps prevent creasing. Lay the underwear flat, fold in any excess material, and tightly roll them from the hem to the waistband.
  • Utilize Unused Space: Make use of unused space in your carry-on bag, such as the gaps between packed items. Roll or fold your underwear tightly and slot them into these areas to maximize space efficiency.
  • Separate Clean and Dirty: To keep your clean and dirty underwear separate, pack an extra small bag or pouch specifically for dirty laundry. This will prevent any odors or stains from contaminating your clean clothes.
  • Wear Bulkier Items: If you are limited on space, consider wearing your bulkier items, such as thermals or padded underwear, onto the plane. This will free up space in your carry-on bag for other essentials.

It’s also important to familiarize yourself with the airline’s regulations regarding carry-on luggage. Check if there are any specific guidelines or restrictions for packing underwear or other clothing items in your carry-on bag.

By following these tips, you can efficiently pack your underwear in a carry-on bag, making the most of the available space while keeping your undergarments organized and easily accessible during your travels.

Keeping your underwear organized in a travel bag is essential for easy access and efficient packing. Here are some tips to help you organize your underwear in a travel bag:

  • Use Dividers or Compartments: If your travel bag has built-in dividers or compartments, take advantage of them to keep your underwear separated from other items. This will help prevent your underwear from getting tangled or mixed up with other clothing.
  • Individual Storage Bags: Consider using individual storage bags or pouches for each pair of underwear. This will not only keep them organized but will also help protect them from dirt and potential damage. Opt for lightweight and breathable bags to allow air circulation and reduce the risk of moisture build-up.
  • Color Coding: Assign different colors or patterns to different types of underwear or each day of your trip. This can make it easier to locate specific pairs and helps maintain a sense of organization in your travel bag.
  • Labeling: If you’re someone who likes to have things labeled, consider using small labels or tags to identify the contents of each storage bag. This can be particularly helpful if you have a variety of underwear styles or colors.
  • Mesh Pockets: Look for travel bags that have mesh pockets. These pockets allow you to easily see the contents inside, making it simple to locate and grab the underwear you need without rummaging through your bag.

When packing your travel bag, place your folded or rolled underwear in an organized manner. Stack or arrange them neatly to maximize space and prevent unnecessary creasing. Additionally, consider packing your underwear towards the top or in a separate compartment of your bag for easy access.

Remember, the key to organizing your underwear in a travel bag is to find a system that works for you. Whether it’s using dividers, individual storage bags, or color-coding, find a method that keeps your underwear organized and makes it convenient for you to find what you need while on the go.

Keeping your underwear fresh while traveling is essential for your comfort and hygiene. Here are some tips to help you keep your underwear fresh throughout your trip:

  • Change Daily: Make it a habit to change your underwear daily. This helps maintain cleanliness and prevents the build-up of odor-causing bacteria. Pack enough underwear for each day of your trip to ensure you have a fresh pair available.
  • Air Dry: Whenever possible, air dry your underwear after washing. Hang them up to dry in a well-ventilated area. This allows them to fully air out and helps eliminate any remaining moisture that may lead to unpleasant odors.
  • Use Freshening Sprays or Sachets: Consider using freshening sprays or scented sachets to keep your underwear smelling fresh. Spritz a small amount of freshener on your underwear before packing or tuck scented sachets into your travel bag to ward off any unwanted odors.
  • Separate Clean and Dirty: Keep your clean and dirty underwear separate during your trip. Use separate compartments or bags to prevent contamination and ensure that your fresh underwear stays fresh.
  • Laundry Facilities: If you have access to laundry facilities during your trip, take advantage of them. Regularly washing your underwear will help maintain freshness and cleanliness. Follow the care instructions on your underwear to ensure they are properly washed and dried.
  • Pack Antibacterial Wipes: When on the go, pack some antibacterial wipes in your travel bag. Use them to freshen up and clean your private areas before changing into a fresh pair of underwear, particularly in situations where access to showers or laundry facilities is limited.
  • Avoid Moisture Build-up: Moisture can lead to the growth of bacteria, resulting in unpleasant odors. Ensure that your underwear is fully dry before packing them in your travel bag. Consider using moisture-wicking fabrics that help draw sweat and moisture away from your body.
  • Rotate Your Underwear: If you’re on an extended trip, it’s a good idea to rotate your underwear. This way, you’re not consistently wearing the same pairs, which can lead to a higher chance of odors and bacteria build-up.

By following these tips, you can keep your underwear fresh and comfortable throughout your journey. Remember to prioritize cleanliness and give your underwear the care and attention it deserves to ensure a pleasant and hygienic travel experience.

Packing underwear for travel may seem like a small detail, but it plays a significant role in ensuring a comfortable and organized trip. By selecting the right underwear, preparing them properly, folding them efficiently, and organizing them in your travel bag, you can make the most of your packing space and keep your undergarments in top condition.

Remember to consider the climate and duration of your trip when selecting underwear. Choose fabrics that are breathable and moisture-wicking for warmer destinations, and opt for thermals or wool-blends for colder climates. Preparing your underwear by washing and drying them thoroughly ensures that they are clean and fresh for your travels.

When it comes to folding techniques, choose the method that works best for you. Whether you prefer the basic fold, bundle roll, or other techniques, the goal is to save space and minimize wrinkles. Additionally, organizing your underwear in your suitcase or carry-on bag using packing cubes, dividers, or individual storage bags helps keep them neat and easily accessible.

To keep your underwear fresh during your travels, change them daily and air dry whenever possible. Utilize freshening sprays or sachets to maintain a pleasant scent, and separate clean and dirty underwear to prevent any contamination. Taking advantage of laundry facilities or using antibacterial wipes can also help maintain cleanliness.

By implementing these tips and techniques, you can ensure that your underwear stays fresh, organized, and comfortable throughout your journey. Traveling with well-packed and maintained underwear not only enhances your overall travel experience but also provides you with the confidence and comfort you deserve.

The Best Men’s Boxer Briefs

Our picks for the best boxer briefs for men side by side.

By Kit Dillon

Kit Dillon is a writer focused on bags and travel gear. He has worked for Wirecutter for a decade and lost count of the number of bags he has tested.

The best boxer briefs allow you to forget you’re wearing anything at all. They should be soft against your skin and nearly invisible, with seams that don’t pinch. And they should have the perfect amount of elasticity, so they don’t sag or stretch out during the day. After comparing 25 brands and testing 16 pairs over several years, we’ve landed on five excellent pairs of boxer briefs to suit a variety of styles and budgets.

How we picked

We chose underwear made from breathable fabrics like cotton and modal which are durable and comfortable, perfect for everyday wear.

We looked for stretchy waistbands that felt secure without pinching the skin or restricting circulation.

Well-designed briefs should have a pouch or cup for support and comfort.

We considered a range of models that cost between $4 and $30 a pair.

For maximum support and a more-accentuated profile, we prefer the Saxx DropTemp Cooling Cotton .

For a more-conservative silhouette and understated branding, we like the Mack Weldon 18-Hour Jersey Boxer Brief .

The Gap 5″ Boxer Briefs offer a terrific balance of comfort and price, and this is the only pair we recommend without a fly.

If you want to spend less than $5 a pop, the Kirkland Signature Men’s Boxer Brief  is the softest and best-tailored offering we could find in that price range.

And for a travel-friendly pair that also works every day, the ExOfficio Men’s Give-N-Go 2.0 Sport Mesh 6″ Boxer Brief is a time-tested favorite.

The research

Supportive boxer briefs with a perfect amount of stretch: saxx droptemp cooling cotton, a refined cut with sturdier fabric: mack weldon 18-hour jersey boxer brief, ultra-comfortable boxer briefs at a reasonable price: gap 5″ boxer briefs, a solid pair for under $5: kirkland signature men’s boxer brief 4-pack, travel-ready boxer briefs you can wear every day: exofficio men’s give-n-go 2.0 sport mesh 6″ boxer brief, why you should trust us, how we picked and tested, what about meundies, other good boxer briefs, the competition, frequently asked questions.

Saxx Undercover boxer briefs

Saxx DropTemp Cooling Cotton

A unique and supportive cup design.

These exceptionally supportive boxer briefs are made from a soft, breathable, and moisture-wicking fabric that has plenty of stretch. And they’re available in a range of solid colors and bold, playful patterns. The contoured pouch might be a little too bold for some people, though.

Buying Options

Best for: People who like a bold look and who tend to feel warm during the day, or who might enjoy the separation between themselves and their thighs.

Why it’s great: The Saxx DropTemp Cooling Cotton —previously called the Saxx Undercover—stands out from other boxer briefs because of its cotton-blend fabric and unique cup design, which allow it to feel more comfortable and supportive than many other pairs we tested while also wicking moisture and creating a flattering silhouette.

The internal pouch design consists of two panels of nylon-mesh fabric, shaped like the jib of a sailboat, that follow the internal seam of the underwear cup and separate the edge of your thighs from the rest of your anatomy. It’s a design that helps to secure everything in place and to reduce chafing or rubbing of sensitive areas.

Throughout the day, we felt like we needed to adjust ourselves less, if at all, while wearing the DropTemp Cooling Cotton boxer briefs than with other models. Testers also noted how flattering the pouch was, compared with other designs. “My topography is awesome without getting too cup-spilleth-over,” one tester said. “Also, it’s very comfortable to sleep in.”

close up of the pouch of the Saxx underwear.

The DropTemp Cooling Cotton’s fabric, made of a cotton-modal blend with a touch of spandex, is soft and pliable, but it also makes this pair more supportive than many other blended-fabric boxer briefs we tried, which tended to stretch out. The material feels lightweight and absorbs moisture well.

After weeks of testing various boxer briefs, I personally liked the DropTemp Cooling Cotton pair the most—their stretch and cling against my legs, the way they stayed in place longer and felt like a second skin. The waistband of this pair is about an inch tall and stays in place better than that of any other boxer briefs we tested.

Another Wirecutter staffer who owns a pair agreed. “It doesn’t shift around much at all—the legs don't roll up or ride up—and the waistband is tight enough to keep it in place, but also super comfy,” he said.

Saxx offers a nice variety of neutral colors and louder, fun prints.

Flaws but not dealbreakers The large “Saxx” logo on the front waistband of these boxer briefs isn’t going to be everyone’s cup of tea. Also, though this pair comes as close to perfect as we’ve found, it did roll in certain situations, like when we hunched forward in a chair.

Material: 57% cotton, 38% modal, 5% elastane

Sizes: XS to XXL, fits a 27-inch to 46-inch waist

Colors and patterns: five solids, 10 patterns, limited runs of one-off prints

Mack Weldon 18-Hour Jersey boxer briefs

Mack Weldon 18-Hour Jersey Boxer Brief

A conservative profile with reassuring heft.

With breathable fabric and a darted pouch, these unusually sturdy boxer briefs provide solid support and a modest silhouette. They have a fly, and they’re available in a wider range of colors and traditional patterns than most other underwear brands we tested.

Best for: People in colder climates and those who appreciate a thicker and richer-feeling fabric.

Why it’s great: Slightly more conservative—some would say less boastful—in its cut and branding than our Saxx DropTemp Cooling Cotton pick, the Mack Weldon 18-Hour Jersey Boxer Brief is just as pleasant to wear, though it’s made of a heavier cotton, which may feel warm to some people.

This pair is a great choice for those who prefer a more-understated look. But since there are about a dozen colors and multiple patterns to choose from, the subtle design doesn’t mean a loss of individuality.

close up of the Jersey Boxer Brief information printed on the outside of the right leg of the underwear.

These boxer briefs flatten the anatomy more than the Saxx DropTemp Cooling Cotton pair, thanks to the smaller dart construction of the pouch, which produces a more-modest effect. This modesty carries through Mack Weldon’s overall branding and pattern design. This pair is simply more conservative and a little more formal and mature-looking than many of the other boxer briefs we tested.

The quality of the materials and construction is evident from the moment you pick up this pair. The jersey cotton and modal fabric is a little thicker than that of other boxer briefs we tested; the 18-Hour Jersey Boxer Brief has a reassuring heft. (Indeed, this pair went through multiple wash-and-dry cycles without losing its shape or softness.)

That weightiness also makes this boxer brief warmer to wear than other others we tried, although it is plenty breathable where it counts: A lightweight piqué cotton gusset runs between each leg and across the back of the underwear.

The substantial cotton-modal fabric holds extremely well across the thigh—the sturdy seam and the just-right elasticity make the boxers neither too tight nor too loose. Mack Weldon also makes briefs and trunks out of the same luxurious fabric.

The waistband also feels pleasantly substantial, though after several years of testing, we know it’s not immune to folding over on itself. (In truth, no boxer briefs are.)

If you’re unsure about the sizing, Mack Weldon has a generous first-purchase Try On Guarantee and a customer service team that can help pinpoint the right fit.

Our testers seemed almost conflicted with how fancy they felt while wearing these boxer briefs. “These are lovely. You put them on, and you feel rich,” one tester said. Another added, “This underwear makes me wanna waste money on a hotel room and fancy booze to seduce my already-wife and spoil her right.”

Flaws but not dealbreakers The 18-Hour Jersey boxer briefs must be washed in cold water. When one tester ignored these instructions and ran his pair through a medium-warm cycle, the underwear pilled.

Material: 47.5% cotton, 47.5% modal, 5% spandex

Sizes: S to XXL, fits a 28-inch to 46-inch waist

Colors and patterns: 13 colors, 6 patterns

Gap 5″ Boxer Brief underwear

Gap 5″ Boxer Briefs

Basic budget staples.

These boxer briefs are soft, comfortable, and priced to stock up on. But they aren't especially well ventilated, so they’re not ideal for warmer days or those who tend to run hot.

Best for: People with sensitive skin, especially around the waistband.

Why it’s great: If you don’t want to spend more than $15 for a pair of underwear, the Gap 5″ Boxer Briefs strike a good compromise between comfort, fit, and price. This pair is made of a sturdy but exceptionally soft cotton (95%) and spandex (5%) blend—it’s some of the softest cotton we’ve worn, especially for the price, and it feels like a familiar T-shirt.

The Gap boxer briefs have welcoming details such as soft covered seams, which prevent friction against clothing, and a unique fleece-like lining on the waistband. We didn’t find either of these features on any other underwear we tested—even pairs that cost twice the price.

Although the fabric is wonderful and they’re extremely enjoyable to wear, these boxer briefs lack the tailored look and feel of our other picks. Men’s underwear, at its simplest, is made of two panels of fabric, a front and a back, stitched together. However, pricier pairs tend to include more panels to further refine the shape and fit.

In the rear, these boxer briefs are made from a single panel, stretching from thigh to thigh, that flattens—rather than contours—the posterior, which isn’t the most flattering. Instead of a full cup in front, the design has a roomy, darted pouch. You may not notice these cut and shape considerations—that is, until you try a pair of underwear that does have extra tailoring. Then it’s harder to go back.

Close up of the pouch on the Gap 5″ Boxer Briefs.

The lack of extra paneling also means the Gap 5″ Boxer Briefs don’t offer any kind of venting—a piece of mesh or piqué cotton fabric that helps heat escape your body—like our pick from Mack Weldon does. This is not necessarily a vital inclusion, but given the thicker fabric, the lack of venting may mean you’re more likely to overheat. This pair also lacks a fly, so if that’s a priority you may prefer our recommendations from Mack Weldon or Kirkland Signature .

These briefs come in mostly neutral colors, but stripes and a few brighter colors are available.

Flaws but not dealbreakers While the cotton of these boxer briefs is extremely soft and pleasant to wear, it’s a touch heavy for warmer weather, and the lack of venting in the design doesn’t help. If you tend to overheat, you may not enjoy this pair as much as others—but on cooler days when I wanted a particularly soft pair of underwear for lounging around the house, I often found myself reaching for these.

Material: 95% cotton, 5% spandex

Sizes: XS to XXL, fits a 28-inch to 45-inch waist

Colors and patterns: over a dozen colors and patterns

Kirkland Signature Men’s Boxer Brief.

Kirkland Signature Men’s Boxer Brief 4-pack

Inexpensive and surprisingly comfortable.

These soft, nicely tailored, well-constructed budget boxer briefs look and feel as good as pairs that cost two or three times as much—and their weight is just right for nearly any climate. But they come in only two colors, and they’re not sold individually.

Best for: People who want to save some cash without sacrificing (much) in the way of quality or design.

Why it’s great: The Kirkland Signature Men’s Boxer Brief is surprisingly comfortable and well constructed for the price—a four-pack costs less than any other single pair we recommend. And unlike some others we tried, this pair offers an ideal thickness for nearly any climate.

I was surprised by how well the fabric stretched across my skin. Several brands we’ve tested in this budget range use cotton that feels brittle when stretched and almost crinkly between your fingers. The Kirkland Signature boxer briefs are sturdy but soft, made from a blend of 96% cotton and 4% spandex. The fabric is easily on par with that of underwear twice the price—it’s soft enough not to catch your leg hairs or irritate your skin yet still elastic enough, especially around the thighs, to move with you. This fabric also has an optimal thickness—sturdy and durable but also breathable.

Close up of the fly of the Kirkland boxer briefs.

The Kirkland Signature boxer briefs also incorporate some advanced tailoring features that are extremely uncommon in this price range: an extra rear panel, which shapes the underwear around your butt for a more-flattering look, and a flat seam design, which reduces the seam’s ridgeline so it doesn’t dig into your skin or catch your hair. Those two construction details rivaled or exceeded the touches on several other, pricier boxer briefs we tested.

The Kirkland Signature pair has a fly, but it lacks a cup or dart to shape the front panel, like on pricier pairs we recommend. As for the waistband, it’s resoundingly “fine”: It’s elastic enough to stretch without leaving deep marks in your skin, but it doesn’t particularly stand out.

After several years of testing, these Kirkland Signature boxers have held up fairly well; our test pairs started to develop holes after about a year of steady wear and washing, which we consider pretty reasonable.

The Kirkland Signature boxer briefs are available only in a four-pack. Unlike some of our other picks, these have no logos or loud designs to announce what you’re wearing. Choose these briefs if you prefer a simple and understated design and a neutral color palette—they come in only two colors, gray and black, and no patterns. They also come in more sizes than any other brand we recommend, from S to XXXL (for waist sizes from 28 to 50 inches).

Flaws but not dealbreakers The Kirkland Signature brand is sold only at Costco, though non-members can order these boxer briefs online for a 5% surcharge, or about 85¢ more; it’s such a small difference that we don’t consider it a reason to skip this pick if you lack a Costco membership.

Material: 96% cotton, 4% spandex

Sizes: S to XXXL, fits a 28-inch to 50-inch waist

Colors and patterns: two colors

ExOfficio Give-N-Go Sport Mesh 6” Boxer Brief.

ExOfficio Men’s Give-N-Go 2.0 Sport Mesh 6″ Boxer Brief

Built for travel, great for every day.

This nylon sport-mesh underwear is durable, quick-drying, and exceptionally breathable. This brief is made to last for many years of travel, yet it’s comfortable enough to wear every day if you like a silkier feel.

Best for: People who want to travel light, live in in hot climates, or anybody who prefers the feel of silky nylon over cotton blends.

Why it’s great: The ExOfficio Men’s Give-N-Go 2.0 Sport Mesh 6″ Boxer Brief is designed for travel. But this pair’s comfortable fit and featherweight feel—not to mention its odor-reducing abilities—could have you reaching for it every day, whether you’re traveling or not. This boxer brief is nearly identical to its predecessor, ExOfficio’s Give-N-Go Sport Mesh model, which was our previous top pick, before it was discontinued.

Made from a nylon sport-mesh fabric that’s exceptionally lightweight and quick-drying, this pair is excellent for travel, when you may find yourself doing laundry on the go; the 2.65-ounce fabric takes just two and a half hours to fully air-dry.

However, the Give-N-Go 2.0 boxer briefs stand apart from other travel-specific underwear because of their silkiness. They feel particularly light and smooth against the skin and under clothes. And compared with traditional cotton undies, with these there’s less friction and chafing, especially when you’re moving around. They’re easily among the most comfortable boxer briefs we’ve tested, and they’re great for daily wear, even if your longest journey is from home to work.

Close up of the nylon-mesh fabric and waistband of the ExOfficio's boxer briefs.

One staff editor said the Give-N-Go 2.0s are his go-to briefs for travel days and for days that involve a lot of walking. “They don't shift around, the legs stay put, and the fabric is really comfortable,” he said. “And I haven’t experienced any pilling.”

With its mesh design, the Give-N-Go 2.0 pair is more breathable and better at wicking moisture than any other boxer briefs we tested. While most synthetic underwear has some sweat-wicking capacities, this pair is especially well suited for long walks or hikes, especially in hot locations. Plus, ExOfficio treats its fabrics with an antibacterial finish formulated to reduce odor. “I have worn these boxers for years, and they have never let me down,” said one tester. “They definitely combat odor.”

In tailoring and fit, the Give-N-Go 2.0 pair rivals any other pricey pair we’ve found. These boxer briefs are built with five panels, which wrap around the thighs, to reduce chafing, and across the butt, to add shape and keep the fabric in place throughout the day. They have a fly, and the cup is deep enough to feel fully supportive without being overly pronounced.

Similar to other higher-end brands, ExOfficio offers its underwear in a range of colors and patterns; the offerings seem to change frequently. Many of the color options feature brightly colored seams. Some people may not like that extra contrast, which highlights the shape of the body, while the more neutral-colored pairs tend to be subtler in that regard.

During our travel underwear trials , our tester wore the same pair for six months of daily wear and washing (a somewhat extreme and potentially unsettling test that we didn’t ask him to perform). During that endurance test, he found that—despite some early signs of pilling, especially between the thighs—the nylon-mesh fabric was nearly indestructible.

Flaws but not dealbreakers One tester noted that if these boxer briefs got wet while you were wearing them—say, if you got caught in the rain or were fording a river—they might stick to your skin uncomfortably. Also, our testers found that the waistband tended to flip over with the slightest provocation, which can be annoying. But unlike the waistbands of many boxer briefs we tried, this one didn’t dig into the skin. The large logo on the waistband may be a turn-off for some folks, too.

Material: 90% nylon, 10% elastane

boxer briefs we tested side by side.

In researching this guide, I spoke with three industry experts: Michael Kleinmann, CEO of The Underwear Expert , a boutique underwear subscription service; Nick Graham, the founder of Joe Boxer and current CEO of the Nick Graham men’s clothing line; and former Calvin Klein chief creative officer Bob Mazzoli, who was VP of merchandising when the company made famous the now-ubiquitous boxer brief design, in the mid-1980s.

I also spoke with designers and company representatives from Hanes and Mack Weldon , who provided important context about the way modern brands are creating designs for changing tastes.

Over the years, we’ve tested these picks on people with a range of body sizes and gender identities.

I’ve worked for Wirecutter for years in various capacities—comparing, testing, and writing about everything from backpacks to cooking equipment . And I’ve worn boxer-brief-style underwear for most of my life.

In this underwear guide, we’re recommending mid-thigh boxer briefs, intended for daily use. We focused on boxer briefs because, according to the experts we interviewed, they’re the most popular modern style of men’s underwear.

Over the years, we’ve considered 25 well-reviewed brands, and we’ve tested 30 pairs from 16 of those brands. Our choices have been informed by experts as well as by ongoing testing by Wirecutter staff.

We sought out great boxer briefs based on the following criteria:

Soft yet durable fabrics: “The hand, or feel, of the fabric is significant. It should feel soft against your skin,” Michael Kleinmann, CEO of The Underwear Expert, told us. A lot of the underwear we tested is made from the commonly found cotton and modal blend, spiked with some spandex or other synthetic fibers for added stretch and form. Cotton is a workhorse fiber—it’s soft, strong, breathable—while modal is a type of rayon that’s cool and soft. But we also included pairs made from materials like nylon.

Waistband and leg-band stretch: The waistband of your underwear should have enough elasticity to hug your body without pinching your skin, but it should remain stiff enough that it doesn’t flop over. “Check the modulus of elasticity of the waistband,” said Bob Mazzoli, former chief creative officer of Calvin Klein. “You want to feel resistance without it feeling stiff.” Similarly, the leg bands should hug your thighs without pulling hairs from your legs or restricting circulation. Underwear can change from good to terrible over the course of several hours if the elasticity in these areas is lost.

Supportive, comfortable construction: A pair of underwear with both a well-designed pouch (made of darted fabric for a little room and lift) and a more prominent cup (made of several panels of material to envelop you) will contour and flatter your body, while supporting you as you move through the day. Aesthetically, the pouch is vital to accentuating the inherent shape of the male form. A quality pouch should appear just barely loose when you hold the underwear aloft. Seam construction matters, too: A good seam should run flat, without an edge to rub or chafe against the skin.

A reasonable price: We considered a range of models priced from $4 to $30 per pair. The $25 to $30 pairs—often called “premium” underwear—simply wear better: Their stitching won’t chafe, their waistbands won’t stretch out, and they should last longer (if cared for properly). In our opinion, spending any more than $30 quickly reaches the point of diminishing returns.

Over the course of testing, I wore each test pair during my day-to-day life for activities like household chores, dog walks, and hikes up a mountain. I compared the general feel and comfort of each pair, keeping an eye out for things like how their construction held up after washing.

Because underwear taste is highly subjective, in addition to my own testing, I enlisted a panel of Wirecutter staffers for their feedback; the panelists have waist measurements ranging from 28 to 42 inches. While this underwear is marketed toward people with male anatomy, our testers represented a range of gender identities.

If you’ve listened to a podcast or scrolled Instagram, you’ve probably come across an advertisement for MeUndies . It’s unavoidable. These boxer briefs have received some good reviews online for their softness and fit, but we haven’t been impressed by their durability. We’ve been testing MeUndies for the past three years. And while they were initially comfortable, we’ve found that the thin micromodal fabric doesn’t hold up—especially on the printed pairs—for the six-month minimum that we expect from underwear in this price range ($26 per pair, or $18 for subscription members).

Multiple Wirecutter staffers who have worn MeUndies were similarly underwhelmed by their long-term performance, although one senior editor insists that her husband’s MeUndies boxer briefs were still in great shape after years of regular washings. If you do buy them and have second thoughts, MeUndies will accept a full refund on any purchase within 45 days , with conditions: The items can be “tried on” but not worn, which makes it pretty tough to gauge their quality.

If you like our main boxer brief pick from Saxx, but you want to try a different material: The Saxx Ultra boxer briefs have the same cut and design as our Saxx DropTemp Cooling Cotton pick, except these are made from a viscose fabric (a type of rayon) rather than a cotton blend. Overall, the Ultra briefs have a looser fit, and we’ve found that this thinner-weight material is less durable than the cotton blends Saxx uses for its other models. However, if you don’t mind the reduced durability and prefer a softer, less supportive feel—think somewhere between boxer briefs and classic boxers—then the Ultra might be a good option.

If you want a high-end boxer brief with a unique horizontal fly: The handsome, modal-blend Tommy John Second Skin Boxer Briefs came close to matching the quality of our high-end main picks. Some testers were fascinated by the unusual horizontal fly—which is intended to provide faster, easier access; others expressed concern that it cut off their urine flow, since the fabric’s bias tends to squeeze against you with more pressure than a vertical opening when deployed. Ultimately, the slightly higher quality of our picks edged out this Tommy John pair, but if you’re intrigued, it may be worth considering.

The Hanes Ultimate Men’s Comfort Flex Fit Boxer Briefs 4-Pack is a former top pick in this guide, and we still think these briefs are perfectly decent for the price. But after continued testing, we far prefer our budget-friendly Kirkland Signature pick, which is cut to shape and accentuate the body—unlike the Hanes briefs, which tend to stretch and flatten across your skin.

The GoodFor Underwear are made of modal and spandex, and seem to be well constructed. As an added benefit, GoodFor donates a pair of underwear for every pair you buy. These boxer briefs have a horizontal fly, which our panel of testers found “unsettling.”

For a smaller brand based in Minnesota, Duluth Trading Company has a surprisingly vocal following. We received multiple requests that we try the Duluth Trading Company Men’s Go Buck Naked Performance Boxer Briefs . Although they weren’t terrible, and the nylon performance fabric—similar to what’s often used for sports underwear—fits the brand’s utilitarian ethos, we didn’t find this pair particularly comfortable for all-day wear. Also, the large, flat panel doesn’t offer much separation or support, and it looks a little odd. If you spend most days on your feet or working hard, though, these boxer briefs could be a solid choice.

The Bn3th Classic has a cup design similar to that of our Saxx DropTemp Cooling Cotton pick. However, instead of offering two separate panels, the Bn3th design forms a complete U-shape, which is disconcerting, to put it lightly. If you want a cup design in your underwear, the DropTemp Cooling Cotton boxer briefs are slightly cheaper, more comfortable, and available in a wider range of styles and materials.

Although the design of the Calvin Klein Cotton Classic Fit Boxer Brief includes a two-way fly, which is an interesting feature, our testers complained about this underwear’s small size, rough material, and tendency to chafe. You can and should get something better for the same price.

The leg holes on the Fruit of the Loom Men’s Breathable Boxer Briefs didn’t flex well in comparison with those on our top picks. We also weren’t thrilled with the quality of the fabric—it felt brittle and harsh against our skin.

The Jockey Classic Boxer Briefs lost their shape too quickly over the day. Unfortunately, the problem seemed to get worse with repeated washings.

For plain cotton underwear, the Organic Basics Organic Cotton Boxers were extremely expensive. The organic aspect may intrigue some people, though these boxers come in only a shorter European cut. We also didn’t like the raised stitching.

The Polo Ralph Lauren Boxer Briefs felt thinner and less durable than our top picks—even the ones that cost half as much. Their shape also changed a bit after washing.

There’s no other way to say it: The Gildan Men’s Classic Length Boxer Briefs felt exceptionally cheap from the moment we held them. They also felt exceptionally cheap when we wore them, and when we took them off. Throughout the day they rode up, bunched oddly, and made for an overall deeply uncomfortable experience.

The Lululemon Always In Motion Boxer 5″ boxer briefs were a disaster. The fabric was too thin, and on the body, it felt oddly akin to a stocking material.

What’s the best fabric for underwear?

Underwear comes in a variety of natural and synthetic fabrics: cotton, modal, wool, silk, nylon, Spandex, Lycra. For most people, cotton and modal offer the most breathability for everyday wearing. Wool is an option in cooler climates, but may be tough for people with sensitive skin and, like silk, doesn’t wick moisture well. Neither are ideal for daily wear. Synthetic materials are best for athletic activities because they stretch well; they’re also well-suited for travel since they’re lightweight and quick-drying.

How do you keep waist bands from stretching?

Underwear that has any kind of elastic in the waistband—which is nearly all underwear—will stretch out and lose its elasticity over time. But washing your garments in cold water and drying them on low heat, or ideally hang drying them, can slow down the process.

How many pairs of underwear should you own?

It depends on your lifestyle, but the consensus seems to be about two weeks worth at a minimum, which should be enough to allow you to keep up with laundry loads and still have a few spare pairs for just-in-case.

How To Pack A Suitcase, According To A Seasoned Traveler

Learning how to pack a suitcase can make future trips seamless and stress-free. With plenty of helpful packing methods out there, it’s easy to maximize the limited space of your suitcase so that you can bring as much as possible, depending on your itinerary. The best way to pack a suitcase depends on the length of your trip and other factors, such as the season you’re traveling in and your travel style.

For cruises or a one-hotel trip where you won’t be changing accommodations often, you will only need to think about packing and repacking once. However, if you plan on changing hotels and cities often, you will be packing, unpacking and lugging your suitcase around throughout your trip, meaning you’ll need to have a plan in place. No matter your itinerary, we’ve outlined the best strategies to help you pack more strategically, as well as some essential items to make packing as easy as possible.

The Best Memory Foam Mattresses, Chosen By Sleep Experts

How to clean hardwood floors, according to professional cleaners, what you will need to pack a suitcase:.

  • Best Suitcase: Away The Bigger Carry-On
  • Best Packing Cubes: Bagsmart Keep Shape Packing Cubes , Eagle Creek Pack-It Tube , JJ Power Travel Shoe Bag
  • Best Toiletry Kit: Travelon Compact Hanging Toiletry Kit
  • Best Tech Kit: ProCase Electronic Organizer
  • Best Cosmetics Bag: Eachy Cosmetic Bag
  • Best Jewelry Case: Bagsmart Travel Jewelry Organizer Case

Step 1: Consider The Type of Travel

Before you even open your suitcase, you should think about the kind of trip you’re going on and how much space essential items will take up. If you’re packing for a ski trip , you will need to bring heavier, snow-proof gear—but you can re-wear most of it. On a beach trip, your summer outfits will take up less space, but you will need more of them as you lather on sunscreen and deal with sand and sweat.

Whether you’re flying domestically or internationally also plays a role in how you pack. On a domestic trip, familiar products are easier to find and you don’t need to worry about packing adaptors to charge your electronics. When you’re flying internationally, there may be some necessities that will be difficult or impossible to find abroad.

Step 2: Decide On The Number of Items

After you’ve considered the essentials for the style of your trip, think about how long your trip will be. Short trips can be the easiest to pack for because you can get away with squeezing in a little bit more than you need, while longer trips of two weeks or more are not so bad if you count on doing laundry somewhere along the way. I’ve found that I’m more likely to overpack on a week-long trip when I don’t think I will have a chance to do laundry and want to be prepared for a few different weather scenarios.

Start with this basic breakdown of how many of each item you should aim to pack depending on how long you’ll be traveling for—with optional items included if you’re traveling somewhere you expect to swim. If you plan on hitting the hotel gym or going for a jog or a bike ride, you should also bring along one outfit for working out and a pair of sneakers.

Weekend Trip

For a weekend trip, you really only need three outfits, or four if it’s a three-day weekend. This includes one nice outfit for going out to dinner, but it does not include what you’ll wear on the way to your destination.

  • 1-2 bottoms
  • 1 dress (optional)
  • 1 pajama set
  • 1 swimsuit (optional)
  • 3 pairs of socks
  • 3 pairs of underwear
  • 1 pair of comfortable shoes
  • 1 pair of “going-out” shoes (optional)
  • Toiletry bag with essentials (toothpaste, sunscreen, makeup, etc.)
  • Chargers and electronics

On a seven-day trip, you will need to pack clothes that can easily be mixed and matched, while prioritizing items that you can use multiple times, like jackets, jeans and sweaters that can handle multiple wears between washes. Always pack extra underwear and socks on a longer trip, especially if you’re doing a lot of physical activity.

  • 2-3 bottoms
  • 1-2 dresses (optional)
  • 1-2 swimsuits (optional)
  • 8 pairs of socks
  • 8 pairs of underwear
  • 1 pair of comfortable close-toed walking shoes
  • 1 pair of sandals or flip-flops (optional)

Two-Week Trip Or Longer

If you’re traveling for two weeks or longer, you should plan to do laundry at some point during your trip so you can pack less and have a fresh start somewhere in the middle of your travels. However, things don’t always go according to plan, so you should still pack more than one week’s worth of clothes just in case.

  • 3-4 bottoms
  • 2-3 dresses (optional)
  • 8-14 pairs of socks
  • 8-14 pairs of underwear

Step 3: Choose The Packing Methods And Products To Help You Pack

If you are flying carry-on only, all of your liquids must be in containers no larger than 3.4 ounces and fit in a clear quart-sized bag. If you check your luggage you can bring toiletries that go over this size limit, but you should still pack, wrap and secure them tightly in plastic bags so that if they they leak during transit, the rest of your items will not be ruined.

To keep your toiletries organized throughout your trip, you’ll need a hanging bag like the Travelon Compact Hanging Toiletry Kit . This particular bag is a great choice as it allows you to see everything laid out just how you left it and it’s quick to pack up. However, if you need more space for a large makeup collection, check out the super spacious and customizable Eachy Cosmetic Bag .

Dress Shirts

To minimize wrinkles in your best shirts, use the narrow fold method. Button up the shirt and lie it flat with the buttons facing down. Fold the sleeves across the back of the shirt and then up at a 90-degree angle until the cuffs line up with the collar. Fold the sides to overlap on top of the sleeves, and fold the fest of the shirt up from the bottom until you have a neat square package. You may still have to iron out the folds when you arrive.

To protect your shoes while traveling, pack them in a separate waterproof bag and fill any empty space with socks or other small soft items that will give them extra protection and help them keep their shape. You can use a plastic bag if you’re in a pinch, but these waterproof shoe bags are specifically designed to hold their shape and have an extra pocket to fit a pair of flip flops.

Packing Cubes

These essential travel tools make a world of difference when it comes to keeping your suitcase organized, but most people use them wrong. Your first instinct might tell you to put pants with pants and shirts with shirts, but the most effective way I’ve found to use packing cubes—especially on a trip with multiple transfers— is to group clothing by activity.

Keep your day-to-day sightseeing clothes in a separate cube from your going-out-for-dinner clothes or beach-gear cube. When it’s time to get dressed, you’ll have your outfit pre-planned and I also find that it’s also a good way to store accessories. For example, I always bring my favorite microfiber beach towel with me, so I keep this in a separate cube with my swimsuits, a beach dress and a sun hat. When I’m not looking for my beach clothes, it doesn’t get in the way and it doesn’t get lost.

I prefer cubes with some shape, like these BagSmart packing cubes , but I also like to mix it up. I’ve found that the Eagle Creek Pack-It Tube is the best shape for storing my rolled socks and underwear, which I always keep in my carry-on in case my luggage gets lost.

If you love to accessorize, you’ll need a system to prevent your favorite jewelry from getting left behind in random hotel rooms. Instead of bringing along a hard-sided jewelry box which could tangle your necklaces as they get jostled around, try a folding jewelry organizer like this case from BagSmart , available in three sizes.

Electronics

In addition to a good case for your laptop or tablet, you should also have a separate organizer case for all your wires, chargers, portable batteries, and hard drives. If you’re bringing a lot of electronics, protect them with a hard-sided case like this ProCase Electronic Organizer , which has multiple compartments and partitions to keep your gear tangle-free.

Is It Better To Roll Or Fold Clothes In A Suitcase?

If your goal is to fit as much as possible into your suitcase, rolling is the way to go. However, if you need your clothes ready to go as soon as you land and won’t have time for ironing, folding is preferable. The best strategy is to do a bit of both, rolling items like underwear and pajamas, but folding nice shirts and dresses.

What Is The 5 4 3 2 1 Packing Method?

The 5 4 3 2 1 packing method maximizes potential outfit combinations so you can express your personal style. It works by assigning a number to each category of clothing: 5 tops, 4 bottoms, 3 shoes, 2 dresses, and 1 bag. It’s a good jumping-off point, but you may need to adjust the numbers for longer or shorter trips.

Kuznetski Most area in Moscow

Kuznetski Most is a small area between Tverskaya street, Kremlin, and Kitai Gorod (Lubyanka) and it's a downtown of Moscow. First of all, 'Kuznya' is a great place to walk: it is a real Moscow area, not a postcard at all, hectic busy streets neighbour tranquil lanes and courtyards with traditional architecture. There are also many very nice cafes, restaurants, clubs, and shops. If you want a cool place to meet people, go for a walk and to get the real feeling of the city, check out this area.

Kuznetsky Most area - photo by Sergey Rodovichenkov @FlickR

Long time ago there were only half-broken low wooden houses in Kuznetski Most area, and it was the place where poor blacksmithes lived. Blacksmith is 'Kuznets' in Russia, hence the name. In the beginning of the street (on top) there was a bridge over a small river, later this river was put underground, so there's no bridge anymore. About 200 years ago there was a rich Moscovitan noble buying this area. He immediately put away all the blacksmiths' houses and started to build a fancy new district. Just in few years he built up beautiful houses, with impressive ornaments, rich decoration, pools in the courtyards. Also, he opened some French boutiques in the area. That's when Kuznetski Most started to become fashionable. In a short time all the elite moved to this  area, and those who wasn't so fast were coming here to make some shopping and to sit in many of the restaurants and cafes around.  In the 20th century, when the communist times arrived, most of the buildings were given to government offices, some were given to soviet shops. The area became boring, the architecture was slowly deteriorating , but nobody seemed to care. In the beginning of the 90s  the area was revived again: the buildings were  restored , there was many new cafes being opened, boutiques, and shops. One important landmark of Kuznetsky Most is that it's home to FSB (Federal Security Bureau - former KGB) offices, and if you walk along Kuznetsky Most street you can get to the FSB reception, which is open 24 hours (in case you have something to report).
