Sóller is nothing short of magical… with its picturesque mountain views, cozy stone homes with their clay tiled roofs, tantalizing cafes serving up traditional Spanish delights, and an overall fairytale village feel that’ll sweep you off your feet!

If you can’t tell, I absolutely loved visiting Sóller, Spain.

This charming little Spanish village well and truly stole my heart… and then ran away with it, never to be found again. I could have spent days exploring all of the winding roads, local eateries, hiking trails that go into the mountains, and surrounding villages that dot the hillsides.

But alas, my best friend and I were only here for a mere 5 or 6 hours. In this time, we explored and soaked up the magic of Sóller as much as possible!

Take a peek at the Sóller photos I snapped and get inspired to visit this charming village for yourself.

And don’t forget to check out the Sóller FAQs section below to learn more about the destination, such as where it is located, how to get to Sóller from Palma de Mallorca (aka the main city on Mallorca island — or Majorca, depending on where you are from), the best things to do in Sóller, and yummy places to eat.

What to Know About Visiting Sóller in Mallorca, Spain

After seeing those beautiful photos of Sóller, are you inspired to visit this charming little village on the island of Mallorca in Spain?

I know I would be! I mean, come on…

How magical and whimsical are the pastel-colored buildings and the beautiful views of the mountains beyond the quaint streets?!

Anyways, to help you plan your trip here, have a read through my helpful Sóller travel tips below.

Where is Sóller on the Island of Mallorca?

Sóller is located on the north west side of Mallorca, about two miles inland from the coastal village of Port de Sóller. This quaint village in Spain is nestled in a lush valley surrounded by the Serra de Tramuntana, also known as the Tramuntana mountain range, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Throughout this region, you’ll find lush groves of orange, grapefruit, and lemon trees, transforming the landscape into a colorful array of oranges, pinks, and yellows. It’s beautiful! And well worth a visit if you are in Mallorca.

To visually see where Sóller is on Mallorca island, view the map below.

How Do You Get to Sóller from Palma?

There are a few ways to get to Sóller from Mallorca’s capital city of Palma. Personally, we traveled to Sóller from Palma by bus, which was quick, easy, and super affordable! However, there are a few others ways to get there. This includes:

You can hop on a vintage train (operated by Ferrocarril de Sóller S.A.) from Palma to Sóller. The old wooden train is direct and takes around one hour each way and it costs €18 for a one-way ticket.

Alternatively, you can book a combination ticket for €32 that includes tickets for both the outward and return ticket from Palma to Sóller, as well as the return ticket for taking the vintage tram from Sóller to Port de Sóller.

To view the timetable for the train, as well as the pricing of tickets, click here . And to see the exact location of where the train departs from in Palma, click here .

While I didn’t experience the train ride to Sóller, this is definitely my top recommendation on how to get from Palma to Sóller! The route goes through stunning scenery and will give you lovely views of the mountain range on Mallorca.

As mentioned above, we took the bus from Palma to Sóller, which is a very easy way to get between the two destinations.

This transportation method takes around 30-40 minutes each way and costs €6 per one-way ticket. You’re going to want to get the 204 bus from Estació Intermodal; the bus will be on the lower level.

Guided Tour

If you aren’t interested in going through the trouble of planning transportation and your own day trip from Palma to Sóller, I would recommend booking a guided tour!

Here are a couple I recommend (all include transportation between Palma and Sóller, as well as an educated guide to teach you about the area’s history!):

  • Valldemosa and Soller Day Tour with Tram and Bus
  • Tramuntana Panorama Tour – Soller, Deiá, Valldemossa

What are the Best Things to Do in Sóller?

In my personal opinion, the best thing to do in Sóller is to simply relax, sip on a refreshing drink, and soak up the Mediterranean atmosphere that will surely captivate you!

However, if you want to fill your Sóller itinerary with additional activities, check out this quick and dirty list of great things to do, sites to see, and attractions in Sóller.

  • Hop on the vintage wooden tram that goes from Sóller to Port de Sóller and explore this seaside town for a couple hours.
  • View wonderful works of art at the Can Prunera Museum of Modernism, a cool museum that is a restored work of art in itself.
  • Visit Església de Sant Bartomeu, one of the most beautiful churches in Sóller.
  • Stroll through Jardí Botànic de Sóller, a beautiful and relaxing botanical garden just on the outskirts of Sóller.
  • Book a boat tour from Puerto de Sóller and see the gorgeous coastline of northern Mallorca.
  • Eat a local restaurant (I highly recommend the paella!).
  • Grab a spot at an outdoor table in the center of Sóller, sip on a refreshing drink, and simply watch the world go by.
  • Take bus 232 to Fornalutx, another gorgeous village just down the road from Sóller. (It has rightfully been named “the most beautiful village in Spain.”)
  • Simply walk around and admire the quaint buildings and homes with their clay tiled roofs, pastel painted exteriors, charming balconies, and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.

Where are the Best Places to Eat in Sóller?

As a vegan, it was admittedly a bit difficult to find somewhere to eat in Sóller. (Especially when I struggle to speak the language!) However, we did find a couple places that served up some great food, including plant-based dishes.

  • Sa Granja Cafè – Restaurant — This is where we ate. I had the vegetable paella here, which was alright but quite salty. It’s centrally located in the main square of Sóller.
  • Ca’n Llimona — Italian restaurant with veggie options.
  • Re Organic. Restaurante 100% ecológico — Many reviewers say this Sóller restaurant is excellent for vegans.
  • Do de pit — Serves up a delicious vegan burger made with Beyond Meat that many rave about.

Inhabited since 4,000 BC, Vall de Sóller has given refuge to pre-Talayotic, Talayotic, Roman, Muslim and Christian settlers: remains of almost all the cultures that have passed through Sóller are preserved. The Muslims called this land Sûlyâr ("golden valley" in Arabic) and began to inhabit what we know today as the urban nucleus of the village, channeled the water from the torrents to the orchards and built the first terraces to take advantage of better the space in the foothills of the mountains: a way of population that they imported from their places of origin, in the North of Africa. Due to the fear of the Berber attacks, the first defensive buildings were erected, but they were not able to prevent the attack of 1561 of 1,700 Turkish corsairs under the orders Uluch Ali. The courageous response of the sollerenses that expels the pirates is remembered since 1855 with the Moors and Christians simulation of "Es Firó".

history

After this attack, Sóller continued to fortify the city and began the construction of the Picada Tower, thanks in part to the benefits of olive cultivation and oil trade. In 1860, a serious epidemic in the orange trees caused a serious economic crisis and forced many sollerics to emigrate to France and the Antilles: these, determined to return home, worked very hard to save enough money to do so. With the return of the emigrated Sollerenses, now converted into petty bourgeois, the city underwent an important social and cultural transformation: the European modernism landed in Sóller and impregnated, above all, the architectural style in which the houses of these new industrialists were built and merchants. This particular social and cultural revolution was the one that prompted the construction of the Tren de Sóller at the beginning of the 20th century.

2nd weekend May Fira & Firó

Sóller commemorates the victory of the Sollericss over the Saracens on May 11, 1561: a great battle that begins in the morning at the Port and ends late at night in the town square.

Port de Sóller

At the mouth of the Torrent de Sóller we find a natural bay of great beauty: there the fishermen of the valley settled down to shelter their boats from the waves and the storms. With time, Port de Sóller grew and became the main way of entry of goods of the valley but also in a weak point at the time of defending itself of the corsairs that frightened the Mediterranean Sea in the 14th century. Today, from that time, the Picada Tower (1622) is still a watchtower to protect the entire Valley located on the outskirts of Port de Sóller and the old fishermen's houses, still preserved in the seaman's Santa Catalina area.

The vintage train from Soller to Palma de Mallorca

Shutterstock

The ochre town of Sóller lies in a valley surrounded by the grey-green hills of the Serra de Tramuntana. The Arabs saw the potential of the valley, known as the Vall d’Or (Golden Valley), and accounts of orange and lemon groves, watered from sources in the hills, date to the 13th century. The citrus-fruit export market laid the foundations for the great wealth of the town, reflected in its railway line to Palma (1912), tram line to the Port de Sóller (1913) and the grand merchant houses that throng the town, such as those strung out along Gran Via and Carrer de Sa Lluna.

Do you want to know where Sóller and the other interesting sights on the island are located? 🎁 Download here for free the Mallorca map that we have prepared for the readers of the website. You will be able to carry it on your mobile phone and use it at any time to organise and enjoy your holiday on the island.

There are several ways to get to Sóller , but we recommend that you do it with your own vehicle or rental car , or on board the famous Sóller train, the most popular excursion in Mallorca .

Sóller is one of the most touristy and essential places to visit in Mallorca and therefore has a public transport service, but frequencies are scarce and limited. In summer they improve, but the reality is that nowadays getting around the island by public transport is still a slow way of getting around.

Getting to Sóller by car

Although Sóller is nestled behind a mountain pass known as the “Coll de Sóller” and for years was isolated from the rest of the island, today it is very easy to reach. In 1997 the drilling of the mountain and the creation of the famous and controversial Sóller tunnel began, connecting the town with Palma de Mallorca . Nowadays, moreover, crossing the tunnel is free of charge .

Car hire Mallorca

To get there, take the Ma-11 in Palma towards Sóller. Once there, you can either cross the 3km tunnel or wind your way up and down the famous “Coll” . You choose your adventure, but we warn you that “Es Coll” is not suitable for people with a fear of heights.

Parking in Sóller

Parking in Sóller is quite complicated, as the centre of the town has regulated and paid parking, and the streets are quite narrow. Still, it is not impossible. Just know that the price of the blue zone is €1.20 per hour.

If you don’t mind walking and want to park for free in Sóller , we recommend that you park on the main road (Carretera de Sóller), in the cemetery car park or next to the railway station.

You can locate all these car parks on the complete map of Sóller that we have drawn up and which you will find below on this page .

Getting to Sóller by public transport

As we said, it is possible to get to Sóller by public transport:

  • From Palma, take bus lines 203 or 204 at the Estación Intermodal (Plaza de España).
  • From the north of the island, from Alcudia or Pollença , taking line 301 .
  • From the beautiful village of Fornalutx, with the minibus line 232 that connects both municipalities.
  • From the rest of the cities and towns of Mallorca , you must go to Palma and change to take bus lines 203 or 204 .

You can find detailed information on how to get around Mallorca using the public transport network in these two articles: 🚌 Public transport in Mallorca : bus, metro and train in Mallorca: lines, timetables and fares. 🚕 Taxi service in Mallorca : taxi ranks, taxi companies’ telephone numbers and fares.

Sóller Train: the most famous excursion in Mallorca

One of the most beautiful and recommendable ways of getting to Sóller is by traditional train from the capital . From Plaza de España there is an old wooden railway that was inaugurated in 1912 and connects with Palma, giving you the pleasant sensation of travelling back in time.

The route takes about 28km in approximately 1 hour, along which you will enjoy the beautiful views and pure nature crossing the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana . It is undoubtedly one of the best tourist experiences in Mallorca!

You can consult the fares and timetables on the official Sóller train website .

If you want to make the experience even more unique, we recommend that you take a look at the Excursion Train to Sóller and Sa Calobra Cruise from Palma , that includes the journey by wooden train from Palma to Sóller , the tram to the Port of Sóller and a boat trip to the spectacular cove of Sa Calobra, which is located next to the Torrent de Pareis and which together are one of the most spectacular visits that you should not miss during your trip to the island .

What to see in Sóller

To visit all the interesting sights in Sóller that we suggest in this list, we recommend that you invest at least a full day . Ideally, it would be better to be able to dedicate a little more time to it, as Sóller is one of the most complete municipalities with the most to offer in Mallorca .

Here you will find history, art, culture and spectacular natural surroundings . That’s quite something! You will fall in love with its old town, but its surroundings are also perfect to get lost for a few days 💙.

🆓 Do you have limited time to visit Sóller? If so, you can book this free tour and get to know the most important places in the city centre. We recommend that you book in advance, as there is no charge and you may run out of places in high season.

Plaza de la Constitución

The Plaza de la Constitución is the heart of Sóller, where everything happens. In this square you will find the Parish Church of San Bartolomé , the town’s main church, the old Bank of Sóller , Can Bordils and the Town Hall , as well as cafés, bars, shops and restaurants .

In addition, the well-known electric tramway to Port de Sóller also passes through the square , which has remained practically intact since it began operating in 1913.

Plaça de la Constitució with the Church of Sant Bartomeu and the Bank of Sóller in the background

Iglesia de Sant Bartomeu

The Church or Parish of Sant Bartomeu (13th century) was founded as a small Gothic temple after the conquest of Mallorca by Jaume I, and today it is one of the must-see sights in Sóller, as it is one of the most beautiful on the island .

Declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, this church underwent a process of enlargement that culminated in the creation of the famous modernist façade (1904) by the architect Joan Rubio i Bellver , a well-known disciple of Gaudí.

Its Art Nouveau aesthetic blends perfectly with its baroque structure and neo-Gothic bell tower, giving rise to an architecture that leaves no one indifferent.

Opening hours: • Saturday and Sunday: 9am – 1pm • Saturday at 11:30am: Organ Concert Admission : free.

Banco de Sóller

On the left of the Church of Sant Bartomeu is the Bank of Sóller , designed in 1898 by the Catalan architect Rubio i Bellver, and which was born with the idea of capturing the capital that emigrants had amassed after their passage through Puerto Rico and France. It is a typically Art Nouveau building, with a double tribune overhang, a semicircular doorway and wrought-iron windows.

Like the parish church, the Banco de Sóller is one of the most emblematic buildings to see in the town , as it represents the town’s years of splendour and prosperity. Today it is owned by Banco Santander.

Banco de Sóller in the Plaza de la Constitución in Sóller

Calle de Sa Lluna

After visiting the Plaza de la Constitución and having visited the Town Hall, the Church and the Bank of Sóller, we recommend that you go for a walk to Carrer de Sa Lluna , the most commercial and lively street and another of the essential places to see in Sóller .

This old medieval road that connected Sóller with neighbouring towns such as Biniaraix still preserves some mediaeval buildings such as the Casa de sa Lluna (No. 50), which gives its name to the street, and others in the modernist style, such as Ca la Nena (no. 52), although its main attractions are the Museum Can Prunera and the shops selling local handicrafts and handmade products , highlighting the famous products “Fet a Sóller” .

Just at the end of this street and of the village is the old public washing place , before the endless and beautiful orange groves that reign in this valley.

Can Prunera

Almost at the end of Calle de Sa Lluna is the Modernist Museum Can Prunera , the main museum to see in Sóller. Located in a stately home built at the beginning of the 20th century under the guidelines of French Art Nouveau , it houses all the modernist essence of this town , which is reflected in its artistic and elaborate façade and in its interior collection.

Walking along Carrer de Sa Lluna in Sóller

Can Prunera exhibits works by Miró , Tolousse-Lautrec, Paul Klee, Fernand Léger and Maurice Vlaminck; and of many Mallorcan painters or those related to the island such as Santiago Rusiñol , Joaquim Mir, Joan Fuster, Eliseu Meifrén, Ritch Miller, Juli Ramis and Miquel Barceló ; as well as a sculpture exhibition in the garden.

Opening hours: From November to February: • Tuesday to Sunday: 10: 30am – 6pm From March to October: • Tuesday to Saturday: 10:.30am – 6pm Admission : 6€ and free on Mondays following the second Sunday in May and on 24th of August. You can buy your advance ticket to Can Prunera here .

Sóller Botanical Garden and Natural Science Museum

The Jardí botànic de Sóller is the largest centre for data, experience and collection of the biological diversity of flora in the Balearic archipelago. Located in a modernist mansion and fitted out as a science museum, it opened its doors in 1992 as a centre for conserving, researching and transmitting knowledge about the autochthonous Mediterranean flora , as well as housing exhibition rooms related to the zoology, botany and geology of Mallorca.

Opening hours: • Monday to Saturday: 10am – 2pm Admission : €8 and free for children under six.

Ecovinyassa

Located in a privileged spot at the foot of the Serra de Alfàbia , in the Sa Vinyassa orchard, is Ecovinyassa , with more than 18,000m² dedicated exclusively to the cultivation of orange trees . The guided tour of this estate will allow you to learn about the history of Sóller’s orange groves while you stroll through the fields and enjoy a freshly squeezed juice, as well as spectacular views that are hard to explain. It is precisely for this reason that we recommend you visit this attraction.

Opening hours: • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: 10am – 3pm Admission : €18 and €14 for children between 4 and 12 years old. Advance booking is essential .

Sala Picasso and Sala Miró

Another of the essential sights to see in Sóller is on the ground floor of the train station , which houses two free permanent exhibitions, the Sala Picasso and the Sala Miró .

The Sala Picasso Ceràmiques contains fifty ceramic sculptures made by Picasso between 1947 and 1971. In the Sala Miró you can contemplate 35 engravings belonging to the “Gaudí” and “Lapidari” series, and related to his time in Sóller and the Serra de Tramuntana.

Opening hours: • Tuesday to Sunday: 10:30am – 5pm Admission : free.

Port de Sóller

📝 Here you can consult the complete guide with all the information about Port de Sóller .

Port de Sóller , or Puerto de Sóller, is one of the most popular places in Mallorca and should not be missed during your visit. Its location, in a small bay sheltered by the Serra de Tramuntana just 6km from the centre of Sóller, makes it an idyllic spot , with stunning natural surroundings and a promenade lined with shops, cafés and quality restaurants that are sure to make you fall in love with it.

Things to do in Sóller

As we mentioned, in addition to the historic centre, the municipality of Sóller has a spectacular natural environment that invites you to discover , as well as a wide range of activities to do.

Sóller market, flea market and shopping

Sóller is a great place to go shopping given the number of establishments in the centre and in the port. You will find gastronomic products , such as those of the famous “Fet a Sóller” brand; traditional Mallorcan knitted embroidery, handmade footwear, wooden handicrafts and ceramics.

In addition to the central market , which is worth a visit for its unique building, Sóller also has an open-air market on Saturdays, where you can buy good fresh local produce.

Tramway from Sóller to Port de Sóller

The Sóller tram links mountain and sea in a half-hour journey from Sóller to Port de Sóller and the beach. This is not only a tourist attraction, but also one of the means of transport used by the local inhabitants.

You can check the fares and timetables on the official Sóller tram website , and remember that the tram ticket is included in the excursion from Palma that we explained earlier.

Boat trip from Sóller to Sa Calobra

Although the cove of Sa Calobra and the Torrent de Pareis belong to the municipality of Escorca they are, without a doubt and together with the Lighthouse of Formentor , the most impressive and imposing sights of Mallorca , and you should include them during your visit to Sóller and its surroundings. Really, there are no words!

If you can’t dedicate a full day and go directly, a very good option is to take a boat excursion departing from Port de Sóller , making the most of your visit.

Beaches in Sóller

As you know, the island has many spectacular beaches and coves . The municipality of Sóller is coastal and therefore has some beaches nearby if you fancy a dip:

  • Platja d’en Repic : when you reach Port de Sóller , on the left, you will find this beautiful beach of white sand and crystalline waters . Next to it is the beginning of the path that leads to the Cap Gros lighthouse , one of the 14 lighthouses on Mallorca .
  • Platja de Es Través : it is a sandy beach with calm waters located on the right-hand side of the port. It has a multitude of services , as well as walkways for people with reduced mobility .
  • Es Canyeret o Platja de Llucalcari : further away, located between Sóller and Deià , is this small rocky beach with a nudist tradition where you can even take mud baths, which are said to be medicinal. It has no services and you will have to park your car in the urbanisation of Llucalcari and walk for about 20 minutes, but it is worth it. It is absolutely beautiful!

Platja de Llucalcari in Escorca

Popular festivities: Firó de Sóller

Sóller has an extensive calendar of festivities, but its festival par excellence is the Firó de Sóller, which is held on the second Monday in May .

The Firó commemorates the landing of Turkish and Algerian pirates in the port of Sóller on 11th May 1561, recreating the battle that gave victory to the “sollerics” . It is a festival that is characterised by being very noisy, with firecrackers , and where pride is evident and manifest in the neighbours’ passion for remembering the resistance and subsequent triumph in the battle fought centuries ago.

Cycling in Sóller

The roads of the Serra de Tramuntana, and of the Sóller valley in particular, are perfect for cycling enthusiasts .

“Es Coll” in Sóller is a classic, being one of the most famous cycling climbs in Mallorca , as it has hardly any traffic and there are approximately thirty hairpin bends on each side, as well as spectacular views: in the north as far as the sea and in the south the bay of Palma.

Hiking in Sóller

Less than 2km from the centre of Sóller is Biniaraix , an old Moorish farmhouse and the starting point of one of the most beautiful hiking routes on the island and listed as a Cultural Asset: the Biniaraix Ravine .

This takes place, in the first place, ascending the whole ravine by a stone staircase following the course of a river – and which is one of the best examples of the typical Mallorcan building typology of “pedra en sec” (stone without mortar) – up to the Gorg Blau and Cúber reservoirs .

Puig de l’Ofre is the mountain on the right of the marshes. It has a summit in the shape of a very pronounced triangle with no vegetation , which makes it unmistakable, and it is over 1000 metres high, offering one of the best 360º panoramic views of Mallorca.

Restaurants where to eat in Sóller

In Sóller you will find excellent bars and restaurants where you can savour the rich Mallorcan cuisine , as in addition to its excellent oranges in jams and ice creams (the best is at the Sa Fàbrica de Gelats ice cream parlour), and its exquisite olive oil, the options are endless.

Be sure to try the famous red prawns from Sóller , if you get the chance, or any dish made with rock fish . We assure you they are a delight!

We recommend you:

  • Celler Cas Carreter : a typical Mallorcan celler located in an old carriage house in the centre of town, combining traditional dishes with avant-garde Mediterranean food. As a curiosity, it is the oldest restaurant in the village and has an interesting quality-price ratio.
  • Bar Molino : frequented by locals and with a charming terrace, this is a safe bet if you want to enjoy some of the island’s most traditional recipes, prepared with good produce and at a good price .
  • Restaurante Ca’n Boqueta : If you are a foodie like us, you have to try Ca’n Boqueta, one of the best restaurants in Sóller, which offers Mallorcan cuisine with signature touches . Great and reasonably priced!
  • Restaurante Lluna 36 : Located in the central Carrer de Sa Lluna, this seasonal restaurant has been gaining popularity thanks to the excellent quality of its food and its friendly and efficient service . Their ceviche is spectacular!

tourist information soller mallorca

Sóller is a town on the island of Mallorca , one of the Balearic Islands off the Spanish east coast.

Understand [ edit ]

Sóller is a town on the northwest coast of Mallorca, set in a green valley surrounded by Mallorca's highest mountains. Much of the town is residential and agricultural: it is full of orange, lemon and olive groves. The resort area of Port de Sóller is 4 km away, and much more tourist-oriented.

The combined population of Sóller and Port de Sóller is 14,000 (2018). The town has a beautiful square, and many of its buildings are of architectural interest.

Get in [ edit ]

By car [ edit ].

Sóller is 20 km drive north of Palma de Mallorca on route MA-11. You can either drive through the tunnel (no longer tolled) or go over the top of the Coll de Soller. Once you arrive in Soller, park your car and continue on foot, as the town's narrow streets are not conducive to driving.

By train [ edit ]

The Ferrocarril de Sóller train service runs between Palma's Plaça d'Espanya and Sóller six times a day between 08:00 and 19:00. Tickets are €18 single and €25 return and can be purchased at the station half an hour before the train leaves. The train journey is slow, taking over an hour, but is scenic, with marvellous views of the mountains on both sides of the tunnel. Even in the lower seasons the train can be very crowded. The trains are very old-fashioned with outside viewing platforms at the front and rear of each coach. The line is narrow gauge.

By bus [ edit ]

  • TIB . operates several bus services to Port de Sóller. The IB-09 service operates between Palma and Port de Sóller; the IB-12 service operates between Peguera , Valldemossa and Port de Sóller; and the IB-15 service operates, except in winter, between Port de Pollença , Lluc , and Port de Sóller. €4.50-5.50 . ( updated Sep 2019 )

Get around [ edit ]

tourist information soller mallorca

  • Tram . A tram service operates between the Sóller train station and Port de Sóller approximately every half hour between 07:00 and 20:30. Like the train service from Palma, the tram service is very crowded, especially before the last train to Palma leaves in the evening. The Tranvía de Soller was one of only two tram lines (the other being the exceedingly short "Tramvia Blau" in Barcelona ) to survive from the first generation of trams in Spain, and as such, it offers a glimpse of a bygone era before the tram renaissance of the last forty years. €7 per ride . ( updated Sep 2019 )

  • There's a beautiful church in the centre of Soller that was built by one of Gaudí's students.
  • The town of Sóller is in a bowl surrounded by mountains which makes for very good walking .
  • You can take the train to Palma or take the tram to the Port de Sóller or simply wander around and look at the beautiful scenery, streets and houses.
  • There is a free museum of modern art located at the train station. This has some work by famous artists, notably Joan Miró.
  • Ca’n Prunera Museum , Sa Lluna st 86 . Winter Tu-Su 10:30-18:30, Summer daily 10:30-18:30 . An old art nouveau mansion that has been perfectly preserved as a museum of art. €5/adult . ( updated Nov 2019 )

Do [ edit ]

For bike lovers there are great tracks for both roadbiking and mountain biking . The terrain is rocky so you should be experienced and ride a full suspension bike. The old road to the Sóller Pass (since the tunnel opened there are only a few cars on the road) is a magnificent ride on a road bike. There are approximately 50 hairpin bends if you cross the pass to the other end of the tunnel.

Sóller, Mallorca: A Guide to the Most Beautiful Town

Table of Contents

tourist information soller mallorca

Soller is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of the island that offers a different, more tranquil experience than the popular beaches that are normally super busy, especially during high season.

It is a picturesque town located on the northwest coast of Mallorca, surrounded by nature and with a super relaxing vibe.

About Soller

tourist information soller mallorca

Sóller is a town and municipality near the northwest coast of Mallorca, 3 km inland from Port de Sóller, in a large, bowl-shaped valley that also includes the village of Fornalutx and the hamlets of Biniaraix and Binibassi.

The population is around 14,000. The Tranvía de Sóller tram links Sóller to Port de Sóller

The present-day economy is based mainly on tourism and the expenditure of foreign residents, complementary to the agricultural economy based around citrus and olive groves. Soller is unique compared to towns on the rest of the island due to its geographical isolation, being surrounded by the Serra de Tramuntana. This isolation from all other major towns on the island made it easier to trade with French merchants arriving by sea.

Getting to Soller

Sóller is linked by the historic railway, the Ferrocarril de Sóller , and by a highway with a tunnel, to the Majorcan capital of Palma. The Ferrocaril was built on the profits from the orange and lemon trade and completed in 1911.

The Andratx-Pollença highway also runs through the valley. It takes around 35 minutes by car.

Tickets are available online on the official website and can also be purchased together with the tram linking Sóller to Port de Sóller.

Things to do in Soller

Discover soller’s old town.

tourist information soller mallorca

Soller’s old town is a charming maze of narrow cobblestone streets, lined with colourful buildings adorned with wrought-iron balconies and flowers.

It’s advisable to walk around and get lost in the town, you see most of it in less than an hour. You could finish at Plaça Constitució ( Plaza de la Constitución ), where you’ll find numerous cafes and restaurants where you can savour traditional Mallorcan and Spanish dishes.

The town’s architecture reflects its history, with influences from the Moors and the Catalans, creating a unique blend of styles. For instance, The Church of Saint Bartholomew , dating back to the 13th century, is a beautiful example of Gothic architecture and is a must-visit.

Visiting Port de Soller, Sa Calobra and Torrent de Pareis

This is one of the best tours to do in Mallorca. The journey comprises a trip to  Torrent de Pareis , with some intermediate stops. But do not expect a paradisiac beach or town, this is more of an adventurous tour, taking a train, a tram and a boat.

The journey can be divided into 4 stages, plus one more if you start in Palma and not Soller. You don’t need to go through all of them. For instance, the fastest and simplest trip would be to drive to Port de Sóller, then take the boat to Sa Calobra, and finally walk to Torrent de Pareis.

Stage 1. Tram Sóller – Port de Sóller

Soller to Port de Soller Tram

The first stage is to take the picturesque tram from Sóller town to the Port. The journey has 12 stops and takes 15-20 minutes. Tickets can be purchased in advance online and also on the train.

The tram was inaugurated on 4th October 1913. The track is 4868 metres long, and one outstanding feature of it is the iron bridge over the Torrent Major which was constructed by  Maquinista Terrestre y Marítima . The tram was originally designed for the transport of passengers, but it was also used to transport merchandise down to the port.

Trams numbered 1 to 3, and their trailers 5 and 6 are the originals, dating from 1912, ordered from  Carde & Escoriaza  in Zaragoza.

Stage 2. Boat Port de Sóller – Sa Calobra

Boat trip Port de Sóller - Sa Calobra

The boat trip takes 1 hour each way and costs €32 per person with return, and €21 for a single ticket. Tickets can be purchased online with a 10% discount, at the train station in Sóller or at the main office at the port. Also in online travel agencies like GYG .

The boats have indoor and outdoor spaces. The latter is a terrace with seats, so you will need suncream. There is a coffee shop downstairs and the crew offers drinks on the terrace as well, such as sangria and beer.

Stage 3. Sa Calobra

Sa Calobra

Sa Calobra is the name of the small village, where you can get by sea or road. It is 38 kilometres away from Sóller, between  El Morro de sa Vaca  and  El Morro de ses Fel·les , and below  Puig Major , a 1,445-metre peak, the highest in Mallorca.

There is not much to do in the town, there are a couple of souvenir shops, a beach bar, a hotel, scattered parking spaces and a few restaurants.

And more importantly, there are plenty of signs around the village to get to the final destination, Torrent de Pareis…

Stage 4. Torrent de Pareis

Torrent de Pareis's beach

Following the signs from Sa Calobra, you will walk 200 metres of tunnels on a beautiful footpath, finding stunning views of the turquoise waters from the hills.  After 15-20 minutes you will finally reach Torrent de Pareis (“Twin Streams”).

The stream (canyon) begins several kilometres up in the mountains at the confluence of the torrents of  Lluc  and  Gorg Blau . It terminates in a small pebble beach, a mixture of sand and gravel, which is 60 metres long by 25 metres wide. The area can get crowded in summer, with people having picnics, jumping to the water and exploring some of its cliffs.

The full hike along the canyon is of medium/high difficulty and takes approximately 3 to 5 hours downhill and 4 to 6  hours uphill. So it is for experienced and fit hikers. For more information about the hike, you can visit  torrentdepareis.info  or  mallorcaoutdoors.com .

Hike in the Tramuntana Mountains

tourist information soller mallorca

For those who enjoy outdoor activities, Soller is a gateway to the Tramuntana Mountains , a UNESCO World Heritage site. The region offers excellent hiking and biking opportunities, with trails that wind through terraced olive groves, fragrant citrus orchards, and dense oak forests.

There is an extensive network of hiking trails throughout the Tramuntana Mountains, catering to different preferences and abilities. Some of the most popular trails include the GR221 , also known as the “Dry Stone Route” , which runs from Port d’Andratx to Pollença, and the hike to Puig de Massanella, the second-highest peak in Mallorca. Many of these trails are well-marked, but it’s advisable to obtain a detailed map or consider hiring a local guide if you’re unfamiliar with the area.

Bear in mind that the full hiking trail spans over 90 km, so you can choose some parts or do it in stages. This post by abcMallorca explains the trails in detail.

Explore Fornalutx

tourist information soller mallorca

Fornalutx is a picturesque village tucked away in the Tramuntana Mountains on the northwest coast of the island, just 15 minutes away from Soller by car.

It is often referred to as the “prettiest village in Spain.” This title proves to be controversial, but Fornalutx boasts stunning natural scenery, traditional architecture, and a tranquil ambience that makes it a favourite destination for visitors seeking a peaceful retreat.

The village is situated in a valley surrounded by olive groves, citrus orchards, and terraced fields, all set against the backdrop of the Tramuntana Mountains. The lush, green landscape and the traditional stone houses with terracotta roofs create a postcard-perfect setting. The village’s historic centre is a maze of narrow cobblestone streets, stone houses, and charming squares adorned with colourful flowers.

Fornalutx is also an excellent starting point for hikers, as it is located at the entrance to several scenic trails in the Tramuntana Mountains. One of the most popular hikes is the route to Soller.

Visit Museums

tourist information soller mallorca

Museums are not for everyone, especially on an island known for paradisiac beaches and very warm weather.

However; for those who care, Soller is also rich in cultural heritage. The town also houses several museums, including the Can Prunera Modernist Museum and the Soller Railway Museum, providing insights into the area’s history.

The Can Prunera Modernist Museum , also known simply as Can Prunera, is one of Soller’s cultural treasures and a must-visit attraction for art enthusiasts. It is located in the heart of Soller’s old town, within a beautifully preserved modernist mansion that dates back to the early 20th century.

The Soller Railway Museum , known as “Museu Ferroviari de Sóller” in Catalan, is a museum dedicated to preserving and showcasing the history of the Ferrocarril de Soller, the historic railway that has connected Soller with Palma since the early 20th century.

Restaurants in Soller

tourist information soller mallorca

We were craving to have some homemade pasta and found an amazing place called Ca’n Llimona . We had a traditional Argentinian dish called sorrentinos (see picture above) filled with ricotta and nuts, delicious!

But there are a few more restaurants worth trying, some of them are the following.

  • Ca’n BoQueta . Set in a historic building in the heart of Soller and serves Mediterranean and Mallorcan cuisine.
  • Casa Alvaro . A family-run restaurant that offers traditional Spanish cuisine.
  • Restaurant Cafe Med . Situated in the centre of Soller, it’s a popular choice for casual dining and Mediterranean cuisine.
  • Restaurant Luna 36 . Offers a contemporary dining experience with an emphasis on local and seasonal ingredients.
  • Restaurant Son Vida . Offers a blend of Mediterranean and international cuisine in a historic mansion in the heart of Soller.
  • Agapanto . Located in the nearby Port de Soller, Agapanto is a seaside restaurant known for its fresh seafood and stunning sunset views.

Soller, Mallorca: Quick Essential Tourist Guide From Locals

Enjoy our quick guide to Soller, a town situated a couple of miles inland from Port de Soller in Mallorca.

Throughout the year, the town hosts a number of fairs and festivals which include the “Apropa’t A L’Art” and the “Moros Y Cristianos Fira & Firo.”

Below we feature an expat interview with Pere Crespi of Mallorca Dream Homes who covers the Soller area.

Specifically, we wanted to learn from Pere the many reasons why people should consider moving to this area and the value for money they can get once they decide to stay permanently.

Pere, thanks for helping our readers. I guess we should start off by asking what would you say would be the advantages to living in Soller compared to other Mallorca towns?

Pere Crespi

Would the area not suit certain types of people, i.e. are there any possible downsides?

Not really big downsides but if you come to Sóller for party then this is not the place…. for that Mallorca has other different areas as Magalluf or Arenal. The valley of Sóller offers lots of contrasts: mountains with lots of hiking ways and sea, with all the nautic offer, sailing and acuatic sports.

What proportion of the local population are Spanish?

Still more than 80% of the population is Spanish.

What are your favourite things to do in the area?

Hiking is probably one of my favorites, tennis and getting together with friends.

soller_mallorca_1999

Can you give us some insider tips to the best bars or restaurants?

One of the most recommendable restaurants in the valley is Can Boqueta , open already around 4 years ago. It is the kind of place that one does not get tired of going there. Menu changes every week and quality versus price is really unbeatable. A traditional restaurant would also be Cas Carreter , also located in the centre of the town offering the Mallorcan specialities. In Port de Sóller the selection is really huge and it is difficult to say which ones are the best…

Are there many facilities such as doctors and dentists, shops etc?

A 24/7 medical centre is available in Sóller apart from a few private clinics and also private doctors. Four different dentists are available in Sóller.

Are there smaller villages nearby that you might also recommend?

Once you visit the valley of Sóller one should not miss to visit the villages of Fornalutx, Biniaraix, both in the same valley and along the coast at 10 km away the well known Deià .

Is crime an issue for expats?

Has never been until now and hopefully will not be in the future.

Coming onto buying property, what is the market like now in terms of prices going up, or down or staying the same?

Prices have been quiet stable over the last years despite of the crisis…. demand is still huge in the area and coming from most of the EU countries…

Is this a good time to buy and are there any repossessions or very cheap properties still available to buy?

It is a good time to buy as prices are increasing slightly…. no bargains around and almost no repossessions in the area.

la_sierra_de_tramuntana-_unesco

What urbanisations are there and can you describe each one and how they might differ from each other?

A few urbanisations around in Port de Sóller, Muleta is at the moment on hold as not all the services are available so the local goverment does not want to grant any new building licenses until those services like town water, sewerage and electricity are available all around the urbanisation. The first line of Port de Sóller is probably the most expensive area in the Port together with the urbanisation of Es Traves where you enjoy an open view to the sea as to the harbour.

How much are the typical property prices in Soller for apartments, villas etc?

There are lots of different products but the most demanded ones are apartments in Port de Sóller with sea views, between 300 and 600.000 Euros, townhouses in Sóller with garden or at least patio between 400.0000 Euros and the 800.000 Euros and then the detached stone build property with pool…. those could easily go for more than a million Euros.

Any tips and advice to people looking to buy in Soller or surrounding area?

Better to buy now than tomorrow…. building restrictions are really important so new property is difficult to develop making the existing ones the only available options in most of the area. Being in the World Heritage by Unesco the Sierra de Tramuntana will be even more protected than before so it guarantees a good future for the area.

Port de Soller,

Port de Soller, Mallorca

Charming beach resort on the west coast of Majorca

Port de Soller is a picturesque little village situated in a large horseshoe bay on the west coast of Mallorca. The seaside retreat was, until recently, one of the island's best-kept secrets.

Its isolated location at the foot of the Serra de Tramuntana meant that, before the Soller tunnel opened in the 1990s, it was a difficult place to get to. As a result, unlike many other seaside destinations on the island which were subject to some overdevelopment in the 70s and 80s, Port de Soller came through this era unscathed. The traditional charm remains firmly intact and has helped create a more sophisticated holiday destination. Surrounded by the Tramuntana mountains, Port de Soller is one of the few towns that can claim both magnificent mountain scenery and breathtaking sea views on the island. Being on the west coast, it also affords some of the best sunsets in Mallorca.

The bay is bordered by a sandy beach , lined by a pedestrianised promenade where visitors flock to admire the port's unwavering beauty. Here resides an endless stretch of cafes , restaurants and shops with the odd hotel in between. Remaining true to its traditional fishing harbour roots, seafood restaurants are in abundance. At the same time, there are several contemporary places popping up in the area, including top-notch restaurants and trendy cocktail bars. This has coincided with the world-renowned Jumeirah Group opening a super-luxury hotel on the hills above Port de Soller, a 5-star hotel which prides itself as being one of the most luxurious places to stay in Europe, let alone Mallorca. As a result, the town has undergone a bit of facelift in the last few years, with the seafront being tastefully redeveloped and the tram line that runs to Soller re-routed.

Port de Soller has all the ingredients to make the perfect place for a vacation. And, to top it off, just down the road resides the delightful inland town of Soller which continues to embrace Mallorca’s heritage. Rustic stone architecture, a popular Saturday market and wonderful art galleries are amongst its highlights. It’s connected to Port de Soller by a vintage tram which takes its passengers on a picturesque journey among lemon and olive groves.

History & Culture in Port de Soller

Port de Soller was originally a small fishing village servicing the main town of Soller, located a few miles inland to protect its residents from sea-faring invaders. The port started to expand in the 19th century when the export of citrus fruits grown in the area became big business.

Port de Soller missed out on the mass tourism developments of the mid 20th century because of its inaccessibility, being hemmed in by mountains. This changed in 1997 when the Soller tunnel was built which allowed a more direct route for visitors to reach this remote spot. Since then, the town has gone from strength to strength in terms of tourism, with more and more boutique hotels and quality places to eat opening in the area.

Sights & Attractions in Port de Soller

The Soller Marine Museum is a small maritime museum taking residence in an ancient monastery. This is an opportunity to discover how Port de Soller, due to its isolated situation, has stronger links to the sea than many other towns and villages in Mallorca. In the past, it was easier to transport things via boat rather than travelling across the mountains which has made this town particularly obsessed with all things sailing.

The churches of Sant Ramon de Penyafort and Santa Caterina are two important historical landmarks in the village. Those keen to venture a little further, walk to the 17th century Torre Picada which was once a watchtower. From this point, you will get some of the best views of Port de Soller and its surrounding scenic countryside. More museums and art galleries can be found in the neighbouring town of Soller. A particularly famous one is the Ca’n Prunera Museum , an art nouveau mansion.

Beaches in Port de Soller

Port de Soller is one of the only places to offer a sandy beach along the entire north-west coast. There are actually two beaches within the horseshoe bay. Es Traves is the longest and closest to the working port but Playa d'en Repic is the nicest and quietest. Both beaches are fairly narrow, at around 10 metres in depth, and the sea is calm and shallow thanks to the sheltered bay. The original sand was quite muddy but it has been supplemented by gravelly sand from the surrounding area to make it more appealing to its users. To make the most of the beach, hire sun loungers and parasols or, to experience some more exclusive views of the port, rente a canoe or pedalo from the beach and take to the water.

Events in Port de Soller

Port de Soller, being a historic town, participates in many traditional events throughout the year. The main one is Es Firó which takes place in the second week of May. At the end of the week, on the Festa de Nostra Senyora de la Victòria, it features the reenactment of a battle between the invading pirates (the Moors), and the Christian folk of Soller. The locals are particularly passionate about this event, with residents of all ages taking part. Expect Christian and pirate fancy dress, face painting, wooden sword fighting and the sound of gunshots and cannons going off throughout the afternoon and into the evening.

Sóller’s patron saint’s day, Saint Bartholomew , falls on the 24th of August each year. Like many of the town's celebrations around the island, the eve of the saint's day, the ‘Night of Fire’ is full of street parties and fire shows, followed by a bank holiday. The Verge del Carmen Fiesta on August 15th features a procession of boats in the bay. Sant Joan is celebrated throughout Mallorca on the 24th June followed by Sant Pere on June 29th, both of these festivals are a time for locals to celebrate with friends and families.

In recent years, new traditions have been born in Port de Soller. The Annual Classical Music Festival of Port de Soller takes place in the Santa Catalina Monastery and attracts some top international musicians in September and October.

Things to do in Port de Soller

Port de Soller definitely encourages a slow-paced way of life. It’s the kind of place you just want to kick back and relax with your favourite drink whilst admiring the stunning views and watching the world go by. So the cafes , restaurants and bars are popular throughout the day and into the evening. However, you don’t have to travel too far to get a completely different experience! Being located at the foot of the Serra de Tramuntana mountains makes Port de Soller an ideal base for those keen to explore the mountains by foot or on a bike. Other popular outdoor activities include canyoning and coasteering in the mountain range. Tramuntana Tours are just one of the many companies in the area with the scope to fulfil all your needs when it comes to hiring equipment for these types of activities and more.

Hiking There is an assortment of hiking routes available for all levels of ability within close proximity of Port de Soller. A climb of less than an hour from the port brings you to Cap Gros lighthouse, famous for its panoramic views of the bay. Alternatively, the mule track between Soller and Deia might appeal to the more experienced hiker, where you will be rewarded with rock gardens and olive groves. Walks further afield into the Tramuntana mountains are also plentiful. To get the most of the area we recommend hiring a guide or joining an organised hike. Try local companies on the island like Mallorca Hiking .

Cycling The Serra de Tramuntana has become a bit of a hot spot for cycling in recent years and Port de Soller receives its fair share of cyclists. There are some good loops starting from the port, but also some steep climbs like the legendary Sa Calobra within easy reach. One thing is for sure, hill climbs are aplenty in this area, it’s definitely not something for the faint-hearted!

Boat trips Sailing up this northwestern coastline is the best way to explore the Serra Tramuntana mountain range and should be on your to-do list if you are in the area. Port de Soller is the starting point for several boat trips along the coast with companies such as Bonnie Lass Charters , including cave exploration or champagne-popping sunset trips.

Yacht charter It’s possible to charter your own private yacht from Port de Soller, ideal for those seeking a more exclusive sailing experience around the Mallorcan coastline. You can have it for a day or longer with trusted companies like Mezzo Magic , giving you the chance to explore the many hidden coves along the coastline at your own pace.

Watersports The north west of Mallorca is particularly popular in the scuba diving world , from beginners to technical and instructor level courses there is something for every ability with the various diving companies like Soller Divers Diving Centre available. For those who like to keep above water, kayaking, paddle boarding and pedaloes are available to hire from the beach.

Shopping Being a small village, shopping in Port de Soller is pretty limited. You will find local produce in many of the shops opposite the promenade. The marmalades, conserves and ice cream made from Soller oranges and lemons are a must-try, alongside the extra virgin olive oil and local charcuterie. If you are keen to indulge in a little retail therapy, there are a few little boutiques, shoe shops and some tourist souvenir shops within the small town. Or perhaps a traditional Mallorcan market is on your agenda? In which case, do travel to the inland mountain town of Soller for their weekly market , which takes place every Saturday.

The tram & vintage train ride The town's tram is a tourist attraction in itself. It travels from Port de Soller to the inland village of Soller through the valley. Its passengers can admire the olive, lemon and orange groves on the way. From Soller, you can take the vintage train to Mallorca’s capital, Palma. Whilst the train is an experience in itself, the views out over the mountains and the valleys through orange and lemon groves are simply divine. This is a popular attraction throughout the year but you will find the carriages quieter and a more comfortable temperature outside the summer season.

Dining in Port de Soller

Port de Soller's promenade is lined with plenty of family-friendly restaurants serving up Mallorcan cuisine, fresh fish, pizza, pasta and more. One of the best-rated in the area is Sa Barca , a typical Mallorcan restaurant sitting in the centre of the promenade. Another popular restaurant for locals and tourists alike is Restaurante Es Passeig, which sits on the promenade behind Repic Beach and serves modern and creative Mediterranean dishes. Agapanto is almost an institution in Port de Soller. Lying at the end of Repic Beach, it serves refined local cuisine and the twinkling lights of the town viewed from its terrace in the evening make it one of the most romantic settings for dinner.

Randemar, in the middle of the promenade, offers more of a chill-out cool vibe, with a bright and contemporary interior, and an Ibiza-esque cocktail terrace and bar. The food ranges from tapas to pizza and grilled local meats, vegetarians are also catered for. Further along the promenade behind the harbour is the recurrently popular Kingfisher Restaurant . Fresh fish dominates its menu and it calls its food 'honest cuisine', always a sentiment that we like!

Nautilus is more of a bar/ bistro than a restaurant but its situation high on the cliffs above the port boasts spectacular sunset views. Come for a cocktail on the terrace and watch the sun go down. For something a bit more upmarket, the Jumeirah Hotel is a little further along and has an impressive selection of bars and restaurants with the most amazing views, just be sure to book in advance.

Villas in Port de Soller

Villas and fincas can be a good option for large groups or families seeking a more private experience. Rustic, blonde-stone, finca-style buildings are a recurring theme in this area and they are largely popular. But there are also modern villa offerings available if this is something your heart desires.

Hotels in Port de Soller

There is a wide range of hotels on offer in Port de Soller, from budget-friendly abodes to 21st-century luxury 5* hotels. However, it should be duly noted that this area proudly presents some of the best boutique hotels on the island.

Boutique hotels Hotel Es Port is a fine choice for those wishing to experience a 17th-century mansion set in beautiful gardens and only a stone’s throw away from the sea. All mods and cons, a spa, outdoor swimming pool and tennis courts are available here. Esplendido Hotel is a majestic looking hotel in a prime location, right on the beach promenade. It offers retro-styled bedrooms in a boutique hotel environment. A more contemporary experience awaits you at Hotel Aimia , which has a spa and fitness room, and where most of the bedrooms have sea views. And last but certainly not least, the modern Hotel Boutique Minister is a 4-star boutique hotel attractive for its sleek, yet quirky décor, located right on the seafront.

A state-of-the-art building with everything the modern jet-setter could ask for, from the latest technology through to gourmet excellence and unspoiled views of the sparkly Mediterranean sea below.

Budget-friendly hotels Set back from the harbour lies Soller Garden which offers individual bungalows set in tropical gardens which may appeal to families on a budget. The Aparthotel Soller Beach offers a more modern experience and is centrally located.

  • Tren de Sóller

Even if you are only on the island for a short visit, the narrow-gauge, train journey from Palma to Soller should be close to the top on your things-to-do list. One of the most rewarding excursions on the island, the vintage train to Soller is a very popular attraction with a journey time of around 1 hour and 15 minutes. Sometimes known as the Orange Express, the wooden train was originally introduced to transport oranges and lemons from the Soller valley to the capital, replacing a stagecoach service, which crossed the high mountains via the Soller pass on a steep, narrow dirt track, which was exhausting and tediously slow.

Soller

Port de Sóller

Port de Soller is a very pretty coastal village located in a large and protected horseshoe bay separated from the rest of Mallorca by the Tramuntana mountain range. Before the Soller tunnel opened in the 1990s, Port de Soller was a difficult place to get to with cars having to travel via the Coll de Soller with tight hairpins every 200m or so. This road is now a popular cycling route with little traffic, especially since the tunnel has not been subject to a toll charge since 2018. The village came through the over development of seaside destinations in Mallorca during the 70s and 80s relatively unscathed and it retains its traditional fishing port charm.

Soller

Plaza de la Constitución

Plaza de la Constitución (Constitution Square) is the main square in Soller and is a very popular meeting place for both locals and tourists. Constitution Square is one of the most scenic main squares in the Balearic Islands and is surrounded by modernist buildings and dominated by the Church of Sant Bartomeu, which dates from the 16th Century. The square was built in 1813 and was once used as a bullring with the balconies of the fringing town houses rented out to spectators. Sant Bartomeu Church was famously renovated in 1904 by a disciple of Antoni Gaudi named Joan Rubió who gave the largely baroque church a beautiful new modernist façade.

Soller

Jardí Botànic

Jardí Botànic (Botanic Garden) was opened to the public in 1992 having been founded 7 years previously. It is a centre for the conservation, study and understanding of Mediterranean flora, specifically the flora of the Balearic Islands. In addition to conserving the rare and endangered plant species of the Balearic and other Mediterranean islands, the foundation also educates adults and school children about the flora and also has a conservation biology research function. Jardí Botànic specialises in the management of plant species that are in danger of extinction with the objective of helping these species survive within their natural habitats.

Soller

Balearic Museum of Natural Sciences

The Balearic Museum of Natural Sciences (Museu Balear de Ciències Naturals) is dedicated to the education, conservation and exhibition of the natural heritage of the Balearic Islands. The museum can be found in the grounds of the Jardí Botànic (Botanical Gardens); which is a centre for the conservation, study and understanding of Mediterranean flora, specifically the flora of the Balearic Islands. This is all located in a country estate known as “Camp d’En Prohom”, on the outskirts of Sóller. The Balearic Museum of Natural Sciences has five exhibition rooms, an audio-visual presentation room, conference room, library, classroom and various other spaces dedicated to storing collections.

Soller

Tranvía de Sóller

The Tranvía de Soller is one of the most well-known tourist attractions in Mallorca. It is a tram nicknamed ‘red lightning’; which connects the beautiful town of Sóller with the Port de Sóller district. We’re not sure why the tram is referred to as ‘red lightning’, it is neither red nor very fast. The trams are orange in colour with wooden framed windows, open-sided wagons and wooden benches. The tramline opened in 1913 and some of the railcars and carriages used today date back to this period of time. The journey from Soller to the port takes around 15 minutes and passes through Plaza de la Constitución; which is the main square in Soller and is a very popular meeting place for both locals and tourists.

7 Reasons to Visit Sóller, Mallorca

tourist information soller mallorca

Sóller is something like the capital of the Tramuntana Mountains. Settled peacefully between the mountain range and the sea, Sóller has a history of „kingdom of oranges“, inspiring many world-known artists and nowadays also tourists.  Sóller has it all: the mountains, the beaches, and the attractions.  Let me reveal the best things you can see and do in Sóller according to our own experience.

1. Enjoy a lazy afternoon on the beach

Sa Calobra Beach, Mallorca

Karin on the Sa Calobra beach

There are amazing beaches along the north coast.  The two at Port de Sóller are the nearest but of course the most crowded.  The rest is usually smaller and rocky, but that doesn’t mean it would be less crowded in the summer.  Cala Deiá , for example, is rather small so it can get full rather quickly, but with the crystal-clear water and plenty of caves along the coast, it’s almost a great place for diving or snorkeling.

Tip : The crowds are much more bearable with a glass (or two) of beer, which is  cerveza in Spanish.

One thing you can’t miss  is Sa Calobra beach . It’s an hour’s drive by car from Sóller, but it’s definitely worth seeing, I would say it’s in Mallorca’s top 3, right after  Cap de Formentor  and Alaro Castle. You must try hard to reach it, but you’ll be rewarded with the beautiful scenery. The tiny, pebbled beach is tucked between the cliffs in the large gorge.

We drove through the narrow snaky-winding mountain road (a unique experience itself), but that only got us to the small tourist village with crappy restaurants and some facilities. Just ignore that part. We traced the path through a long tunnel in the cliffs until we reached the end. There, a  mesmerizing beach with turquoise water  emerged in front of us and we stood there breathless. It’s not the best for bathing as the water there is quite cold even in summer, but the walk and the landscape are so worth it!

Tip:  Are you a beach person? Take a look at  Best Beaches in Mallorca: 15+1 Top Beaches for Families, Snorkelling, or Tranquil Relaxation .

2. Hike in the mountains

Sollér, Hiking meme, Mallorca

The entire north coast is lined with the Tramuntana Mountain range. And while  you can pretty easily get everywhere by car within an hour, sometimes it’s more exciting to walk and enjoy the scenery . Most of the routes are accessible all year, just think about enough water supplies and sunscreen during the summer months, we sweated up the storm in there. On the other hand,  beware of private property  as most of the areas, even in the mountains, are privately owned. The best option is to visit the local Tourist Information Center which provides official maps and brochures with public trails. Here are my favorite trails:

The Sóller–Fornalutx–Biniarix Loop

  • Difficulty : Moderate
  • Distance : 7.6 km (4.70 mi)
  • Elevation gain : 205 m (672 ft)
  • Time : 2.5 hours

A beautiful hike through the orange and lemon gardens with mild altitude changes is perfect for anybody. I advise hitting the route  early in the morning or in the late afternoon  unless you want to look like a ripe tomato. Look at the  map of this route at alltrails.com  for details.

Alaro Castle hike

Mountain hike, Alaro Castle, Mallorca

This is exactly how much endorphin you’ll get from this hike

  • Distance : 5.3 km (3.30 mi)
  • Elevation gain : 269 m (883 ft)
  • Time : 4 hours

This is one of the top 3 things to see in Mallorca!  The  hike to Alaro Castle  is a bit further from Sóller, but it was a pleasant surprise for me. The route up to the castle might be rough due to the rocky terrain, true. But the view is magnificent all the way. It’s an hour’s drive from Sóller and there are  two parking lots  under the hill.

Tip : The area around Sóller is also widely popular among cyclists. There are plenty of routes for road cycling as well as mountain biking. If you’re up for an adrenaline experience, the winding mountain trails are the right option for you.

3. Visit Mallorca's picturesque villages

Get out of the city and explore the local mountain villages. The whole region was basically  something like Lake District in Mallorca for English writers and artists . I mean, I get it, the Mediterranean climate, sunny hills, and orange groves are more inspiring than cold and rainy estates in England. But not only the English preferred the north coast villages. It’s simply a stunning setting for a sabbatical, who could NOT like that? And quite affordable compared to other exotic destinations.

Deiá mountain village, Mallorca

Deiá

There are three villages near Sollér worth visiting. Deiá is a small village 2 hours’ drive west. It’s famous mostly as a  residence of an English writer Robert Graves , but the truth is, many artists have sought this romantic bohemian refuge over the last century. I guess that explains why there are so  many fancy, expensive manors and villas for rent  in such a small village.

Valdemossa rustic architecture, Mallorca

Valdemossa

Just a little further west lies a bigger village called Valdemossa. Yet another coastal village with its typical rural stone houses architecture. The major attraction in Valdemossa is the Royal Charterhouse from the 15 th  century  built for King James II of Mallorca. In the 19 th  century, this complex was also a home for  Frederic Chopin and George Sand  on their visit. Her famous novel,  A Winter in Majorca,  came out of this trip.

Fornalutx streets, Mallorca

Fornalutx

Last but not least, Fornalutx. Karin voted for this one as number one. A rustic mountainous village referred to as  “the most beautiful Spanish village”  was originally a Moorish farmstead. The current state of the village formed after the Catalan conquests in the 13 th  century. The rustic cobblestone streets of Fornalutx are easily accessible by a  short hike from Sóller . While there, I recommend visiting the town hall with its 17th-century defense tower and the gothic church with a baroque touch.

Disclaimer : IMHO the villages are in a marvelous landscape and have charming streets and rustic houses, but besides that, there’s nothing to see or do there really. So, for us, it was a matter of a 10-minute stroll in each, because it was nearly impossible to even find a decent café or a restaurant. Half-day hiking in the surroundings is a better way to spend your time.

4. Take a ride on the famous Sóller train

Vintage train from Palma to Sóller, viaduct

Els cinc ponts viaduct

Arguably the tourist’s most-loved attraction is the Palma-Sóller train. It takes 1 hour and links the two cities by a  rare narrow-gauge railway  (with 914 mm/36 in width). Of course, it’s much faster to get there by car (about 30 mins), but you would miss all the fun! The railway runs through the valleys and mountains, 13 tunnels, and over the photogenic “cinc ponts” viaduct . It reminds me of the legendary Harry Potter/Glenfinnan Viaduct in Scotland , just shorter and sunnier.

Practical info:

  • The train operates between Palma and Sóller on a daily basis leaving 4 times a day from each end, starting at 9 am from Sóller and 10:30 am from Palma
  • A one-way ticket costs EUR 18 | return tickets are EUR 25 | Combined ticket tram + train EUR 32 (read about the tram in item 5 on this list!)
  • For more info check the  official website

My top tips for Sóller:

  • A trustworthy organization providing tour guides and bike rentals is Tramuntana Tours .
  • Prepare mentally for the driving. The mountain roads around Soller are narrow and winding.
  • Stay up in the Old Town, which is way more magical than the port.
  • Saturday is market day in Soller, so prepare for a very busy main square from morning until 2 pm

5. Explore Port de Sóller

Sóller Tram, Port de Sóller historical tram

The tram in Port Soller

The famous Port de Sóller is just 4 km (2.3 mi) north of the Old Town , straight down the hill. It would make a nice walk; however, we decided to take the tram on this one (and that’s something coming from me!). Dating back to 1913, the  tram operating between the town and the port  is  Mallorca’s first electric tram line . The wooden tram resembles the ones in San Francisco, but the view is completely different. You’ll pass through the mountains and valleys full of orange gardens ending up on the coast. How cool is that?

  • The main tram station is located just around the corner from the Sant Bartolomeu Church (Plaça d'Espanya 6) and operates every hour.
  • Tickets cost EUR 8 and you can buy them on the tram.

There’s  a beach at each end of the bay , with fine-grain sand, loungers, sunshades, and water sports rentals. Be prepared that  the water can be quite cold in the winter though . Check out our article about t he weather in Mallorca month by month  if you are curious about when to go.

6. Admire famous artists at Can Prunera Gallery

Sóller is a perfect vacation destination for artsy, bohemian people . I’m not that much into modern art, but I’m partly Bohemian (haha... google "Bohemia, Czech Republic" if you have no idea what I mean). And honestly, who would say no to an original Picasso or Warhol? This Soller art gallery resides in a stunning Art Nouveau building and features a permanent Modernist art collection as well as local contemporary artists’ exhibitions. While we were there, we also discovered the tranquil back garden and admired the Art Noveau glass decorations and contemporary furnishings.

  • Can Prunera official website
  • Open 10:30 am to 6 pm daily except for Mondays (closed also on Sundays during summer months)
  • Tickets cost EUR 6

7. Stroll Soller's Old Town

Church of Sant Bartolomeu, Sóller, Mallorca

Soller's magical Old Town

The charming historical town is a great starting point to explore the “orange valley” and the mountains. In comparison to  Palma de Mallorca , it’s a tranquil haven at the foot of the Tramuntana Mountains. The center of the Old Town is the main square, Plaça de sa Constitució with the majestic Church of Sant Bartolomeu  dating back to the 13 th  century.

The square is surrounded by cozy cafés, restaurants, and bars. We also accidentally visited  the regular Saturday market on the square  we didn’t know about. And it was a pleasant surprise! You can find anything there: souvenirs, local crafts, fresh fruits, and orange products.

The Old Town is also famous for  its modernist buildings from the beginning of the 20 th  century  when Soller experienced economic and cultural flourishing. This was possible mostly thanks to the trade links with France. The local producers made their fortune by exporting oranges to France because the town was cut off from the rest of Mallorca by the mountains.  In 1912, the famous rail to Palma was built , and the traders could finally export their goods all over the island.

Walk the  Gran Via Avenue  and the  Cristofor Colom streets  to witness the most splendor modernist residences.

BONUS: Top 3 hotels in Sóller

Thanks to its excellent location and marvelous landscapes, of course,  Sóller is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Mallorca . You don’t have to worry, there are not only luxurious royal manors to rent. Here are the 3 best hotel options in Sóller (as decided by me):

Ca's Xorc: Olive mill turned into a fancy hotel

Cas Xorca Hotel in Mallorca

Hotel Ca's Xorc is the one to book in Mallorca!

At Ca's Xorc , you will appreciate the stunning mountain scenery. This boutique hotel is a restored 18th century olive mill , which means natural stone walls, heavy beams, and overall luxurious rustic style. Private pool, restaurant, and parking are standard, but the staff here goes an extra mile to arrange anything else for you . Be it a boat charter, private massage, or car rental.

Ecocirer: First eco-hotel in Mallorca

Ecocirer Healthy Stay hotel in Mallorca

Hotel Ecocirer

The very first eco-hotel in Mallorca is also proudly vegan-friendly . Children are welcome here as well and babysitting can be arranged at request. The rooms are spacious, bright, and elegant, and the dishes are served in the tranquil rear patio with stunning views . There are three parking spots in front of the hotel that cost EUR 8 per day for guests.

L’Avenida: Adults-only paradise in the mountains

Hotel L'Avenida in Mallorca

About me

Hi! I’m Jan. I live in Prague, Czech Republic. I try to experience the best the world has to offer, and I don’t cease to be impressed. But if I’m not, I’m sure going to tell you! You can count on my full honesty and real opinions here. No bullcrap. I own and run several companies, which gives me great (but not unlimited) freedom to roam the world.

I was first inspired to start this blog by my own experience of researching for upcoming trips—I often struggle with a lack of good information, accuracy, and authenticity of resources. You wouldn’t believe how many “travel bloggers” don’t even visit the destinations they write about!

My goal with this blog is to provide you with complex and practical information so that you can plan your own vacation, complete with insights you’d only get if you visited the place. I also put together itineraries that are fully planned out trip guides.

Another aspect that drives this platform is my curiosity about the history, geography, politics, and economy of each country I visit, so I try to include this information in my articles, too. It’s always great to get the bigger picture, right?

And just to be clear, I am not trying to compete with backpacking blogs or provide hacks for an economical and affordable experience. My vacations follow the standard pattern of traveling by plane, staying in good hotels, and renting a car on the spot to get around. I’m also always up for a fantastic meal, though I don’t shy away from local delicacies and street food, either.

Train ride to the heart of the valley, get on and let yourself go...

The station of palma de mallorca.

Just by crossing the threshold of Palma station you feel transported back in time. The unique railway enclosure is an oasis of tranquility in the midst of the hustle of the city.

The station, located next to one of the nodes of Palma de Mallorca, the Plaza de España, is composed of a modernist building of three bodies, the depot and the space of the tracks, where a locomotive or passenger wagon often rests.

If you arrive with enough time, from the platform, covered by a canopy that offers shade and shelter to the traveler, you can contemplate the maneuvers of the coupling of the railcar to the rest of the convoy, a process that, between the trumpet blasts of the guards and the serious beeps of the old machine, has been repeated daily for more than a century.

You can also visit the exhibition "50 landscapes of Mallorca", a pictorial exhibition that covers the walls of an old garage reflecting the vision that important local and foreign artists have had of the island's nature.

A travel in time

It's time to start your journey. You climb two shelves and, already on the wagon platform, you enter the interior through a glass door: floor, walls and ceiling of lacquered wood; sash windows, gilded sconces and leather and metal seats.

The Sóller train has retained the same appearance since its inauguration, thanks to the continuous care and craftsmanship it has received over the years. The seats can interchange their position so that the traveler can choose whether to sit facing his group mates or separately, depending on the direction of travel. In the first-class wagon, sofas replace the seats, making the trip even more comfortable. A unique rolling watchtower point for contemplating the Mallorcan landscape, with the taste of the "Belle Époque".

You start the trip. An hour-long journey that takes you to another time and another Mallorca. To the time when things happened more slowly and the train was a modern artifact that represented the future and progress. To the Mallorca of the grandparents, the most unknown, the agricultural and traditional one, where nature is sculpted stone by stone, plot by plot, to be able to extract all the fruit of the sowing.

Iron road between farms, fields, carob and almond trees

After a few minutes of urban travel, the train of Sóller crosses the last suburbs of the city and leaves it heading north, towards its destination in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana. The first stop is at the station of Son Sardina, a rural parish of Palma.

Once out of the city, the iron road goes in a straight line into the Mallorcan countryside, the Part Forana, as the islanders call all the territory that does not belong to the capital. On both sides of the convoy, the landscape, with the backdrop of the mountains in the background, is covered with fields of carob and almond trees. The latter, when in bloom at the beginning of February, constitute one of the typical postcards of the interior landscape of Mallorca.

Along this stretch, large rural houses can be seen presiding over the different properties: Sa Font Seca, Son Termes, Son Amar, Raixa and s’Alqueria Blanca..

Road of Buñola

Once past the Santa Maria and Caubet road stops, the track enters a Mediterranean pine forest and ends in the village of Bunyola, built at the foot of the Serra d'Alfàbia. Its station is preserved as it was erected more than a hundred years ago, with a stately main building and a transformer substation from 1929. At the foot of the station are gardens and lemon groves that fill the air with citrus scent.

Leaving Bunyola, three buildings stand out: Sa Torre or Villa Francisca, in modernist style; s’Alqueria d’Avall, a typical Mallorcan mountain estate, and the Alfàbia farmhouse, a house dating from the times of the Arab domination surrounded by Andalusian-inspired gardens.

We enter the Serra de Tramuntana World Heritage Site

However, the most spectacular part of the route is still to come. Leaving Bunyola behind, we can observe a change in the landscape, as we enter the olive groves, characteristic of the Serra de Tramuntana.

They are centuries-old olive trees, with wide canopies and thick trunks sculpted by time, with the singularity that they are planted on the slopes through the construction of terraces supported by dry stone walls, held without mortar, called "marges" in Catalan. This human modification of the natural environment that staggers the slopes of the mountains to make them arable is one of the peculiarities that have made the Serra de Tramuntana a World Heritage Site in the category of Cultural Landscape.

The train plunges rattling into the landscape through a trench dug in the rock and crosses the first of the thirteen tunnels drilled to save the rugged geography. The next one is the longest, with an extension of almost three kilometers.

Inside, the railroad reaches the highest point of its route, about 200 meters above sea level. The lamps are lit inside the wagons; outside, it is pitch dark. Pushed by the plunger that makes up the convoy, the air howls like a ghost trapped inside the mountain. If we open our window slightly, that humid breeze, with the smell of moss and fern, blows cold, while the blackened walls of the tunnel slide swiftly a few centimeters from our faces.

Descent into the valley, photographic carousel

A few minutes later, the train appears on the slope of Sóller in a burst of light and greenery. We are still in the mountains, surrounded by olive groves and pine and oak forest, circulating along the wall of a hollow that precedes the valley. Now it's time to meander along the slope for a gentle descent to our destination. Tunnels, bridges and viaducts make it possible for the road to overcome the numerous obstacles and natural slopes.

To our right expands the Valley of Sóller, covered with orange and lemon groves, surrounded by the high mountains that are cut out of the sky: Serra d'Alfàbia, Es Cornadors, L'Ofre, Serra de Son Torrella and the imposing mola of Puig del Migdia, which majestically presides over the spectacular panorama.

Like a carousel of photographs, each exit of a tunnel offers us, from a privileged height, a new perspective of the lush valley, the unique village and the rugged mountains. The same unrepeated landscape that appears and disappears before our eyes by the magic of the curvilinear layout.

Viewpoint of Pujol d'en Banya

On the slope of Pujol d'en Banya, the special train (ask for information at the ticket office in Palma station) makes a technical stop of about ten minutes that gives us the opportunity to get off the train to observe and take a picture from the viewpoint the open landscape at our feet.

Discovering the magic of the layout

After resuming the march, the train is suspended over the curved viaduct that crosses the Torrent dels Montreals, popularly known as "els cinc ponts" for its five masonry arches. Further on, it enters the "500" tunnel, so called because it is half a kilometer long. Its layout draws a turn of almost 180º, so that at the exit of it, almost surprisingly, the valley reappears on our left.

Arrival in Sóller, modernist town

The convoy already circulates near the village, crossing small orange groves, until, having passed the last tunnel, it glides placidly to the station of Sóller.

The city boasts of growing the best oranges in the world, whose export to France and other European countries flourished in the nineteenth century, which motivated the emigration of many sollerics to France and, therefore, the influence of French culture and fraternal ties with that country.

The train announces with a final whistle its entry into the station, marked by the sight of the various elements that compose it: the depots, the workshops, the warehouses, the track crossings and the loading docks. Beyond, the power substation that powers the entire railway line..

The passenger descends to a wide platform under the shade of the enormous trees that shelter him. To go down to the Plaza de España, where the first stop of the streetcar to the Port and a railway carriage where the municipal tourist information office is located, the traveler will cross, by means of a long staircase, the main building of the station, the large house of Can Maiol.

This house dates from the seventeenth century and has been, over the centuries, a defensive fortification, factory and hostel, among other uses. Despite the reforms of adaptation to the new functions, it still retains its traditional character. On the first floor you can visit the Miró and Picasso exhibition rooms of the Tren del Arte Foundation, with original works by the two universal artists, free of charge.

The trip is not over. We still have many opportunities to visit and walk around. Sóller offers us its modernist buildings, its spectacular church, its always busy central square, its cobbled streets, its traditional stores and museums. And the tramway invites us to another unique trip to the Port.

Want to see the next total solar eclipse in 2026? An expert recommends booking travel now.

  • 2026 will be Europe's first total solar eclipse in 27 years.
  • Travelers worldwide will likely head to Spain, Iceland, and Greenland for the event.
  • A hotel expert encouraged travelers to start planning and booking their trips now.

Insider Today

It'll be two decades before the next total solar eclipse hits the US .

Another option: hop on a plane to Europe and turn the 2026 total solar eclipse into a viewing vacation.

Eclipse cartographer Michael Zeiler at GreatAmericanEclipse.com told Space.com that up to 3.7 million people likely traveled for the solar eclipse on Monday.

HotelPlanner's chief communication officer, Philip Ballard, told Business Insider that the eclipse was a major revenue generator for many cities. For places like Austin, Texas, and Rochester, New York, it could have created $1 billion in revenue, Vox reported.

"I would say the total solar eclipse has become a global phenomenon," Ballard said.

Ballard added that the next solar eclipse , which will pass through Iceland, Greenland, and Spain on August 12, 2026, could result in similar tourism and revenue influxes.

And if travelers are considering a trip to Europe for the solar eclipse, Ballard recommends planning your trip now.

Determine your eclipse viewing destination

According to Space.com , 2026 will be Europe's first total solar eclipse in 27 years. Its path will go through Greenland, parts of western Iceland, and northern Spain.

Choosing where to watch the eclipse will be a tough and important decision for travelers.

Iceland and Greenland have some positives. These regions will experience longer totality times, so viewers can watch the eclipse longer. Plus, the sun will be higher in the sky, so finding a spot to watch the eclipse will be less challenging, Space.com reported.

The downside is that these regions are more likely to be cloudy, according to the outlet.

Related stories

While parts of Spain are likely to offer clearer skies, the eclipse's timing will be shorter and closer to the horizon, which means travelers will need to plan and track down a viewing location with unobstructed views of the western horizon, Space.com reported.

Regardless of the destination, according to the outlet, one bonus is that the strongest meteor shower in the Northern Hemisphere will happen the following night, so travelers can pack two events into one trip.

Book flights and hotels far in advance

Ballard encouraged people to book their hotels in their destination of choice as far in advance as possible.

"You should start looking now and booking hotels now because those cities in the path are already going to be at peak season," Ballard said.

Ballard said it's similar to when a Super Bowl city is determined or a Taylor Swift tour date is announced — you immediately see spikes in bookings. He predicts hotel occupancy rates will hit near-record highs, and room prices may double around the solar eclipse date.

Ballard's general rule of thumb is to book international travel at least three months in advance, but since this is such an anticipated event, booking earlier is smart. His advice is to start discussing plans with friends and family. If you decide on a destination, book a refundable room to keep your options open if plans change.

Regarding purchasing a plane ticket, a study from Expedia states that international travel's sweet spot is at least six months in advance.

According to Expedia, travelers who book six months in advance save an average of 10% more than travelers booking within two months or less.

Skip the hassle of planning altogether and book a solar eclipse tour

Another option is to let a tour operator do the work for you. A handful of tour companies have seen the increased interest in the solar eclipse and launched tours designed around the event.

These tours will have predetermined locations to view the eclipse, hotel blocks reserved, and itineraries highlighting both the region and the eclipse.

However, these can sell out quickly. For example, Space and Telescope created an 11-day tour of Spain around viewing the 2026 solar eclipse. The tour has already sold out as of Wednesday, and the waitlist is full.

Other operators, such as Wilderness Travel and Eclipse Traveler, have similar itineraries for the total eclipse in 2026.
