Mit ihren vielfältigen Touren zwischen mächtigen Bergen, sanften Almwiesen und malerischen Seen, aber auch dank ihrer durchdachten Infrastruktur, ist die Dolomitenregion 3 Zinnen in Südtirol ein echtes Traumziel für Mountainbiker aller Könnens-Stufen. Dank der neuen Drei Zinnen Mountain Card ist der Biketransport mit den Aufstiegsanlagen kostenlos und zeitlich unbegrenzt nutzbar. So können fünf Berge mit unterschiedlichem Charakter per Bike erkundet werden.

Zu den eindrucksvollsten Strecken gehört die Giro Bike-Tour : Sie führt, in Begleitung eines erfahrenen Guides, über fünf Berge und 3.500 Höhenmeter durch die Sextner Dolomiten. Noch eins drauf setzt der Stoneman-Trail von Mountainbike-Profi Roland Stauder: stolze 120 Kilometer geht es durch die monumentale Bergwelt der Dolomiten. Der Trail wurde für Biker geschaffen, die eine echte Herausforderung ohne nervigen Rennstress suchen, denn auch die Schönheit der Landschaft will schließlich genossen werden. Wer die Challenge annimmt, holt sich an einem der vier Einstiegspunkte ein Starter-Kit und sammelt an insgesamt fünf Stationen Etappenstempel – je nach Kondition und Lust an einem oder mehreren Tagen. Am Ende winkt die begehrte Stoneman-Trophäe und abhängig von der eigenen Leistung, ein Platz im Online-Ranking.

Nicht ganz so hart, aber nicht minder aussichtsreich, ist die Vier-Stunden-Tour von Toblach über die Dürrensteinhütte zum idyllischen Hochplateau der Plätzwiese , zurück über das Pragser Tal und Niederdorf. Sie kommt ganz ohne Bergbahnen-Unterstützung aus und verspricht auf ihrem Weg von rund 1.200 Höhenmetern bis hinauf auf 2.040 Höhenmeter landschaftliche Hochgenüsse. Neben den genannten „Flaggschiff-Touren“ und zahlreichen Routen verschiedenster Längen und Ansprüche, warten diese Saison zwei brandneue Single-Trails auf Endurobiker: der 4,2 Kilometer lange „Standschützen“ auf historischem Boden an der Rotwand sowie der 6,8 Kilometer lange, Geschick und Können fordernde „Erla“ am Stiergarten.

Eine wahre Legende unter ambitionierten Mountainbikern ist der im Juli stattfindende  Südtirol Dolomiti Superbike . Seit Mitte der 1990er Jahre findet einer der teilnahmestärksten Bike-Wettkämpfe Europas jedes Jahr statt. 113 km und 3357 Höhenmeter liegen auf der Strecke, die von Niederdorf über Toblach, Innichen, Vierschach, Helm, Sexten, Haunold, Schluderbach und dann über die Plätzwiese und Prags zurück nach Niederdorf führt.

Ein weiteres Highlight findet in Innichen statt, wenn der Eroica Dolomiti Einzug hält. Die Eroica, unter anderem bekannt in Kalifornien, Südafrika, Japan oder Limburg, ist eines der beliebtesten Vintage-Radsport-Events der Welt. Ihre Teilnehmer schätzen das Radrenn-Flair vergangener Tage; das Gefühl auf Schotterstraßen zu fahren und dabei die einmalige Landschaft der Dolomitenregion 3 Zinnen zu erleben.

Wer ohne den eigenen fahrbaren Untersatz anreist, kann sich in den zahlreichen Radverleihstationen der Region das perfekte Bike für jede Tour ausleihen. Auch kleine und größere Rad-Notfälle können hier schnell wieder repariert werden und wer noch etwas lernen will oder sich mit einem Guide ins Gebirge wagen möchte, findet Unterstützung in einer der top ausgestatteten Bike-Schulen der Dolomitenregion 3 Zinnen.

Trail love around the Tre Cime di Lavaredo

Their silhouettes are a landmark for the whole Dolomites. The Italian speakers call them “Tre Cime di Lavaredo”, the German speakers “Drei Zinnen” - we reverently just call them “The Peaks”. High up in the Sexten Dolomites, these pinnacles seem to split the sky with their razor-sharp ridges and remind the ordinary folks of long-ago mountaineering tales. But don’t you think this harsh terrain way above the tree line can only be accessed on foot! A vast network of paths and trails makes it possible for you to discover this pure alpine beauty on two wheels. It’s hard to believe that the speedy descent of the Marchkikele peak or the flow trail down the Coltrodo alm have not been made just for mountain bikers. The hauntingly beautiful Pustertal valley adds the relax-factor to the area and stunning views onto the Sexten Dolomites from the North side of the valley are sure to make you never want to leave.

Marchkinkele

A real endurance club! Almost 1500 meters uphill to the Marchkinkele and then down again by post. When it's done, you can let it roll in a downhill that feels like ages. And everything has previously been worked out with pure muscle power. A great feeling!

3 cable cars 5 mountains the giro bike tour.

Start is at the valley station of the cable car Monte Elmo with a subsequent ride with the cable car up to 2,040m. From there it goes first to Rifugio Gallo Cedrone (2.150m) and further to Rifugio Sillianer (2.447m). You will be thrilled by the unique 360° panoramic view: enjoy the view of the Sesto Dolomites, as well as the glacier world of the Zillertaler Alps in Austria. After a short rest you will reach the highest point: the "Hornischegg/Monte Arnese" (2.550m) and over the 800m long "Monte Elmo Trail" to the "Negerdörfl". Then the "Molini Trail" takes you to the valley station cable car Tre Cime . Of course, a rest at the Rifugio Pollaio is also part of the tour, which continues over the "Stiergarten" to have lunch at Malga Klammbach (1.944m). The view from Stiergarten to the Sesto Dolomites is so fantastic that the cable car Tre Cime is taken twice: Downhill it goes along the natural "Erla Trail". From the Signaue valley station it's an easy way to the valley station of Croda Rossa . The cable car takes you up to Croda Rossa at 1,950m. On the first descent, the "Schellab Trail" and the "Standschützen Trail" take you down to the valley. The day tour ends on the partly technical "Croda Rossa Trail", which ends at the Croda Rossa valley station. Road bike tour to the Tre Cime/Drei Zinnen

The tour, which starts in San Cassiano, affords the cyclist unique views of some of the most beautiful peaks in the Dolomites.

Destination, turn-by-turn directions.

From San Cassiano set out on the SR48, which winds up to the Valparola Pass. From the top of the pass, the road is almost flat until the Falzàrego Pass, and then it winds back down to Cortina. You will enjoy great views of the peaks of the Conturines, the Lagazuoi and the Cinque Torri.

From Cortina a circular tour begins, which leads ultimately to the famous Three Peaks. Cycle along the Strada delle Dolomiti, the SS48, to the pass of the Passo Tre Croci. The road has a few interesting ascents, with the average gradient being about 3 %.

From the Passo Tre Croci ride down towards Misurina and Auronzo, and at the junction bear left towards Misurina. After a steep but short climb, you reach the Lago di Misurina lake. From Misurina head to the Lago d'Antorno, first along a level road and then steeply uphill at the end. After a short, easy descent, you reach the steepest part of the tour. Proceed steeply uphill for about 4 kilometres to the foot of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. After a rest, continue on the same road down to Misurina, and then an easier section via Carbonin, Cimabanche and Fiames takes you back to Cortina.

From Cortina head over the Falzarego Pass, the last tiring climb of the tour, and then down from the Valparola Pass back to San Cassiano.

Follow the SS244 Val Badia road towards La Villa.
