2024 Srixon Limited Edition Spring Major Tour Staff Bag

Feel Like a Pro with a Tour Golf Bag

Favored on the professional circuit for their size, organization, and luxury, tour golf bags help you feel like a pro every time you step onto the course. As the largest golf bags available, they can carry the full set of clubs that professionals need to play their best. Their ample number of pockets and divided compartments keep items organized, increasing efficiency between each swing. And, since they’re made for only the best, tour bags are built using leather and other deluxe components. If you want to feel like a pro, a tour bag from Carl's Golfland is the bag for you!

Is a Tour Golf Bag Right for Me?

Tour bags come with excellent organizational capacity and a sense of grandeur, so if you need the extra space or like feeling like a golf pro, they may be the bag for you. Sometimes called staff golf bags, their larger size makes them impractical for carrying around the course yourself. If you're using a tour golf bag, you'll want a caddie or a golf cart to carry your bag for you.

Staff bags are available in both full and midsize, giving you the option of a slightly smaller bag with many of the same benefits. Midsize tour bags are often more practical and lighter weight, but also have fewer pockets and less overall capacity. No matter the size, you'll enjoy the benefit of having dedicated accessories pockets, insulated beverage pouches, pockets for electronics, space for your apparel, and much more in a staff bag. If you want to feel like a pro, enjoy ample carrying capacity, and you either use a caddie or a golf cart to travel from hole to hole, then a tour golf bag is a great choice.

Titleist Players 5 StaDry Stand Bag Review

Titleist Players 5 StaDry Stand Bag

Our expert review:

Reasons to buy

Reasons to avoid.

The Titleist Players 5 StaDry Stand Bag is one of the best golf stand bags that money can buy, with the brand carrying on their stylish, robust and reliable range of carry options.

Adding a new 5-way top, which helps organisation and accessibility, we noticed the premium feel with the high quality YKK zippers and a horseshoe style tee pocket. Visually, this bag is smart yet relatively simple, which we think broadens the appeal. In testing, we had the black with red trim option, but there are three other color options if that doesn’t float your boat.

Along with the looks, the bag has plenty of practical features like a Sharpie holder and two external lined cooler pouches to store your beverages either side of the spacious ball pocket, but it is the ease of carrying the bag which is the standout, with the experience faultless. In testing over 10 rounds of golf, we had no problems with the straps tangling or twisting and, because the padding is not too thick on the shoulder straps, it disperses the weight evenly, boosting the comfort on offer.

Titleist Players 4 Carbon Stand Bag

Titleist Players 4 Carbon Stand bag

The Titleist Players 4 Carbon Stand Bag is ideal for those who like to walk the fairways without suffering a sore back at the end of it. To begin with, this super-light stand bag weighs in at just 1.3kg, making it one of the best lightweight golf bags on the market. How have they kept the weight down you may ask? Well, it has a minimal design plus carbon fibre legs which provide great strength and stability to boot.

With ergonomically designed double straps, we thought that it was comfy to carry and the grab handles made it easy to move around. There’s also a 4-way top cuff that keeps clubs easily accessible and the rip stop material the bag is constructed from makes the Players 4 Carbon pretty durable.

Five pockets give reasonable storage but, as you would expect from a bag of this type, the objective is not to pack for an expedition but to keep things minimal. As such, we think this is one of the most functional Titleist Golf Bags – Ideal for those seeking a lightweight but robust carry bag that will accommodate enough kit for a standard day on the course.

Titleist Hybrid 14 Stand Bag

Titleist Hybrid 14 Stand Bag

The Titleist Hybrid 14 stand bag is hailed as a hybrid, so it performs extremely well on a trolley and on your back. In testing, we were impressed by the bag's 14-way divider top, as well as the space in the main double pockets for clothing (two of nine pockets in total).

Overall, we thought that the Hybrid 14 probably favours space over weight, with the bag crammed with pockets like the ball pocket and ‘bits and pieces pocket’. These are a really good size and well positioned.

Along with the pockets and amount of space is the double strap system, which we found to be comfortable and easy to adjust. Although it’s not the most padded on the market, this does mean it will absorb less moisture when the weather conditions take a turn.

Titleist Players 4 Plus StaDry Stand Bag

Titleist Players 4 Plus StaDry Stand Bag

The best Titleist golf bags always look great and this Players model is no exception. It is a stylish offering that provides a high level of performance on a number of levels. Thanks to the seam sealed zippers, it’s impressively waterproof, while the wider stand delivers great stability on uneven terrain or on windy days.

There’s also good, accessible storage with a four-way top divider, ample clothing pocket plus five further pockets for balls, accessories, water bottle, valuables and range finder.

One of the standout features is how lightweight the stand bag is, weighing just 1.95kg. Not only does the weight make this extremely comfortable to carry but, thanks to a self-balancing convertible strap system, it moves the weight around evenly. They can even be easily detached if you opt to use a cart, making it one of the  best golf stand bags  and  best waterproof golf bags  money can buy.

Titleist Cart 14 Lightweight Bag

Titleist Cart 14 Lightweight Bag

At just 2.5kg, this is one of the lightest cart bags on the market right now, which is seriously impressive given the amount of storage the Titleist Cart 14 Lightweight offers.

There are no fewer than 11 pockets on the bag, including two good sized apparel pockets and large beverage pocket. There are dedicated spaces for all your accessories and valuables, with all these accessible when this bag is sitting on a cart or trolley. This allows you to organize your equipment easily and focus on your game.

The bag offers a 14-way divider together with large putter well to keep clubs separated and accessible, while grab handles make it easy to move the bag from the car to a cart or trolley and back again. Overall, this is a practical, robust and supremely lightweight bag that’s well worth considering if you’re in the market for a new cart or trolley bag .

Titleist 14 StaDry Cart Bag

titleist cart 14 stadry bag

The Titleist StaDry has been a popular bag for a few seasons now and it’s easy to see why, as it performs from a practical perspective on a number of levels. Firstly, StaDry waterproof technology will help you keep your equipment dry in wet conditions – It’s made from a waterproof fabric and the zips are seam sealed.

It also offers excellent, managed storage with a 14-way top divider plus dedicated putter well. There are also seven generous pockets, with the large apparel pockets and spaces for accessories and valuables a particular stand out.

Designed to sit snugly on a trolley, which we found it does well, the weight is well distributed to ensure it doesn’t shift going over bumps or across slopes. There’s also a useful channel for strapping the bag down to a trolley or cart and the pockets are all easily accessible when the bag is sitting on a trolley. It weighs just 2.7kg and is easy to lift out of a car and onto a trolley thanks to the well-designed grab handles. As such, we also included it in our best golf cart bags list.

Titleist Premium Carry Bag

Titleist Premium Carry Bag

Weighing in at just 1kg, the Titleist Premium Carry Bag is as light as a feather. Specifically designed for a quick summer round, or nine holes in the evening with a half set, you might not get all your kit in there, but there is space for a waterproof jacket, balls and accessories.

Hitting the fairways with a pencil bag like this feels great. You’re unencumbered by bulky equipment and you can just focus on enjoying the walk and your game. This bag is super comfy to carry thanks to the ergonomically designed double strap, but it’s pretty solid too and the mini stand legs keep it nicely off the ground to stop it getting wet.

We think that this is a great option as a second bag – If you want to travel light or quickly zip onto the course, it’s great to have the choice of throwing a few sticks in and striding out.

Titleist Players Travel Cover Being wheeled into the airport

Titleist Players Travel Cover

Specifications.

Featuring two premium skate wheels and a large carry handle, the Titleist Players Travel Cover is very functional and a safe home for your clubs. As your sticks can cost an arm and a leg, it pays to ensure you have the  best golf luggage  possible to relieve some of the stress of travelling abroad with your clubs. Having used the Titleist Players Travel Cover extensively, we were very impressed with the protection and quality it offered. The main compartment is 51" x 15" x 18.5" and housed my golf bag perfectly, plus you'll be able to store a few other bits and pieces like some of the best golf accessories .

The bag also comes with a handy strap on the inside that'll hold your clubs in place and it's worth pointing out  that there would be ample space inside this bag for one of the best golf cart bags . But that additional storage space was great for us, as we could place our golf shoes inside the bag along side our clubs, without worrying about our suitcase being overweight. The bag does have a premium feel, but what's more is that it also comes with two premium skate wheels which operate very nicely in and around airports to help you transport your bag without straining too much to carry it.

That is complimented by a very comfortable handle that is easy to grasp, hold and pull. One down side is that it comes in black only, which in fairness, is fitting for such a no-nonsense, high-quality product, yet may not appeal to those players looking to make a statement when they walk into the airport with their golf clubs. We love Titleist gear and this travel bag is no exception. It performs in every way you would want it to. While it is a fantastic travel bag, we recommend also taking a look at our best Titleist golf bags guide if you want to see some more of the top models in the brand's current range.

How we test golf bags

When it comes to the best golf bags , let alone ones from specific brands like Titleist, we take the testing process very seriously. Whether we are sent a bag or buy it ourselves, we put every product through its paces to ensure we can provide thorough and reliable advice. Every member of the Golf Monthly team is an avid golfer and as such, knows what does and doesn't make for a good bag.

As far as our methodology goes, we review all products properly, which means we have used each and every feature. For example, if the valuables pocket claims to be waterproof, we pour water on it to find out.

Testing for bags takes place over a number of rounds and in different conditions because this gives us an idea of overall performance, which is important to you. We should also mention that even in brand specific guides, no manufacturer can buy a good review because we tell it how it is.

How to choose a new golf bag

There are several key factors to consider when thinking about buying a golf bag and we have gone into those below...

Bag Type -  Put simply what kind of bag do you want? Do you want a stand bag? Or a cart model? Or perhaps a pencil model? All of these types of bag have their positives and negatives and you should think about what you think is important to your golf.

Stand bags tend to be lightweight and comfortable because they are designed to be carried. As a result they do require more effort to use and the storage tends to be a little less when compared with cart models.

However, that being said there are several stand bags above that can also be used on golf carts as well so maybe that is a way of killing two birds with one stone.

Cart bags tend to be larger and therefore offer more storage, whilst they are usually designed specifically for carts as well. The main negative is they are just bulkier and have to be taken off the cart before and after the round, whereas stand bags offer a bit more freedom. Pencil bags are the lightest and most convenient for quick rounds but don't provide all that much storage so weigh up the pros and cons of each and then pick accordingly.

Storage -  Storage is important in golf these days because a good golf bag has to offer pockets for lots of different things as we mentioned above. Cart bags tend to have larger pockets because they are just that, larger. They also require less effort to use too which means players are able to carry more stuff with them if needed. Stand bags on the other hand usually have enough to house the essentials.

As such have a think about how much gear you want to take onto the golf course, and pick a bag accordingly.

Waterproofing -  If you live or golf somewhere that gets a lot of rain then this is a no-brainer really, get a bag that offers protection from the rain. Whereas if you don't, then this factor won't be as important. We should acknowledge that some models above are better than others in this regard because they have been designed as such.

Weight -  Across all types of bag, weight is important. Stand bags obviously have to be lightweight because players will be carrying them on their backs and shoulders all day, whilst cart bags should also have a degree of lightness too so they are easy to maneuver on the golf course, and from the car to the cart itself. Thankfully brands like Titleist make lightweight models across its range of bags because not many players want to use a heavy bag.

Looks -  How do you want your golf bag to look? Whether it be a stand or cart model, brands try their best to create design aesthetics that stand out, or blend in on the golf course. Therefore have a think about which models you like the look of, or if some bags have different color schemes. We think Titleist make some of the best looking bags in the game and in lots of colors as well so just pick a model that you like the look of.

Budget -  Our final factor to consider is of course price. There are golf bags at every single price point so if you want to go for a premium cart model you can, or if you want a cheap stand bag you can also do that too.

Spotted: Titleist TSR 2-wood “mini driver”

titleist mini tour bag

There has been a big demand recently for mini drivers — otherwise known as larger, lower-spin, fairway woods — from every manufacturer. This week at The Players, we spotted Titleist with a TSR 2-wood that definitely fits into the mini driver category.

The TSR is marked with “2W” on the hosel, but when we looked on the USGA conforming list website, it is listed as a 13-degree head. Titleist’s SureFit hosel system is in place, so you can remove 0.75 degrees or add 1.5 degrees of loft, while also being able to adjust the lie angle.

titleist mini tour bag

To go further with the adjustments, the TSR has two movable and interchangeable weights on the sole and back of the club, similar to the setup of the TSR4 driver. Usually, this setup is used to move a heavier weight to the back for added launch, spin, and forgiveness. Moving the heavier weight forward to the sole typically will lower the spin and launch for the players who need it.

titleist mini tour bag

This TSR looks to have a much deeper face and larger size than the current TSR2+ fairway that is currently available. The club has no markings, and Titleist isn’t dishing details yet, about its construction so we don’t know if it is a titanium head, steel, or a combination of a titanium face and steel body.

I’ve gamed three of the four TM iterations of their mini-driver. The current one is the best yet. On the launch monitor, it gets 10-15 yards less (carry and roll) than my TS3 driver. But on the course it is a fairway finder. Depending on the course and the tees, I can play an entire round with my driver never leaving the bag.

great looking club. I am hoping it is smaller than the Taylormade mini driver stuff. More larger fairway than smaller driver.. IF that makes sense.

We always get some great photos of some phenomenal putters at tour events and love to share them. Here are a few from the 2024 Zurich Classic that caught our eye and seemed interesting. (And as a reminder, you can check out all our photos from New Orleans here )

MJ Daffue’s Scotty Cameron T-11 Prototype

MJ is going with the new Scotty Cameron T-11 Prototype this week. The putter is a multi-piece mallet that puts an emphasis on stability with the wings on the back. Daffue’s putter does have a design that differs from retail with a monotone finish, which eliminates the black paint on the aluminum parts that we see at retail. He also has a half siteline milled into the top and an L-neck welded on for some additional toe hang. The face features a deeper milling that should offer a softer feel and slightly quieter sound.

titleist mini tour bag

Scotty Cameron T-7.5 Prototype

We spotted a few different Scotty Cameron Phantom models with modified rear flanges. It looks like the straight black flange was cut into a half circle for a little softer look at address. On this T-7.5, you can still see the raw aluminum from the back view, so this might have been a last-minute job to get them out on tour. The semi-circle also has a white line on it, maybe to frame the ball differently.

titleist mini tour bag

Alex Fitzpatrick’s Bettinardi SS16 DASS

Alex’s SS16 is made from Bettinardi’s famous D.A.S.S., or double-aged stainless steel, for a softer and more responsive feel. The face has a unique diamond pattern milling and features a logo that I feel like I have seen before, but can’t put a name to. The putter is a classic mid-mallet style with a simple, single white siteline on the top. The sole is clean with just the SS16, DASS, and a green triangle logo on it.

titleist mini tour bag

Steve Stricker’s Odyssey White Hot No. 2

This putter has made some amazing putts in its long career! Stricker’s White Hot No. 2 might be in the top 10 of most famous putters in golf. When you see all the dents and lead tape, you know the heel will be up and it will be sinking putts! The soft White Hot insert looks to be in good shape and has less wear on it than the rest of the putter. We don’t know how much lead tape is on the sole, but it has to be multiple layers compacted down over the years.

titleist mini tour bag

Doug Ghim’s Scotty Cameron T-7 Prototype

This T-7 should win the award for “best color finish” in this list with its deep chromatic bronze. It looks like Scotty added a cherry bomb dot to the heel of the deep-milled face and filled it with a very dark blue paint. The rest of the putter looks pretty stock with its single site line on the topline and twin site lines down the “fangs” of the putter. Twin 5-gram weights are installed in the sole and the putter is finished off with a gloss black double bend shaft with a fill shaft offset.

titleist mini tour bag

Project X’s Denali wood shafts have been seen in more and more golf bags this year as we start off the season. As a refresher, Denali Blue is the mid-launch and mid-spin model while Denali Black is for players seeking lower launch and spin.

Denali combines great feel with stability and increased ball speed. Currently, Project X only offers Denali Blue and Black in wood shafts, but we spotted a hybrid shaft in Daniel Berger’s bag at the 2024 Zurich Classic.

  • Check out in-hand photos of Daniel Berger’s full WITB here.

titleist mini tour bag

The shaft looks to be a Denali Blue 105G – HY in TX flex. No word on details from Project X yet but we can assume that this is a mid-launching shaft that weighs around 105 grams in Tour X-Stiff flex.

Berger has this shaft in his TaylorMade P770 3-iron, likely for some added launch and spin to hold the green from longer distances.

titleist mini tour bag

Hopefully, this means we will see some more shafts coming under the Denali name in the future, as I think many of us would like to try one in a hybrid or utility iron!
