Jerusalem with a twist

The tourbin the old city of Jerusalem with Natan was unique and extra-ordinary, mostly because of Natan's vast and deep knowledge about the history, archeology, theology, politics and demography, his charm, sense of humor. He is very articulate and willing to answer any question, and always provides good answers. Highly recommended!

Nathan gave a masterful tour of Israel for our group. He has a vast knowledge of Israeli culture, history, and geopolitics. His dedication to ensuring our group had a meaningful experience was truly remarkable.

Nathan was adept at reading the group, knowing when to provoke curiosity and questions and when to allow a little free time to explore. He was knowledgeable and always willing to take questions either in front of the group or one on one. A lot of topics about religion and the conflict can be uncomfortable to talk about but he created a welcoming atmosphere.

Nathan was a tour guide for our group of around 50 as we went around Jerusalem and Israel. He gave fantastic tours with great history and local perspectives and was great fun along the way. Can’t recommend him enough.

Marked my life. Will never forget him. The degree of devotion, unbiasedness, knowledge and kindness, is unparalleled.

Car rentals can be very affordable too, I rented from Sixt for about $12/day. Of course prices will fluctuate based on season and demand.

• The Dead Sea : Located about an hour’s drive from Jerusalem, the Dead Sea is a must-see destination for anyone visiting Israel. Known for its high salt content, the Dead Sea is a popular spot for swimming and mud baths.

• Bethlehem : Located just a few miles from Jerusalem, Bethlehem is a significant religious site for Christians, as it is the birthplace of Jesus Christ.

Getting Around the Holy City

To explore Jerusalem, the best options are walking or taking a taxi, especially since many of the top attractions are located within or just outside the Old City walls. Taxis are convenient but can be expensive. The public transportation company, Egged, offers bus services within the city and to other locations around the country, including Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV) located about 38 miles northwest of Jerusalem on the outskirts of Tel Aviv. • Language : Hebrew and Arabic are the official languages of Israel, but English is widely spoken, especially in tourist areas. However, learning a few basic phrases in Hebrew or Arabic can go a long way in connecting with locals and showing respect for the culture.

He/she can either write it on a piece of paper and afterward place it on the forehead of the guesser. The responder will help the guesser know the correct word by answering “Oo, Hindi, or Pwede.” There is an allotted 2-minute limit per round. But the fastest team that guessed the word is the winner.

Pinoy Henyo can be played online, indoors, and outdoors. The equipment and materials used for this game are a smartphone, a pencil, and a small sheet of paper. Kids and Adults can play Pinoy Henyo. The duration for playing Pinoy Henyo is between 6 minutes to 10 minutes.

3. Musical Chairs (Trip to Jerusalem)

Musical Chairs also known as “Trip to Jerusalem” is a dance game that will always be played at every party for kids and single adults.

The rules for Trip to Jerusalem are you need chairs of roughly 5 to 8 pieces and players that are slightly higher than the number of chairs. For example, if the chairs are 8 then the players should be 9.

To play this game, there must be a game master that can turn on / off the music. There should also be an assistant who can Arrange, remove, and re-arrange the chairs after each round.

The participants have to dance and move around the sets of chairs. When the music stops the players should make sure to have a chair to sit on. The player that is unseated is eliminated. Every time each round ends the chair is reduced by one. The cycle continues until there is one winner.

This game needs a game master that can turn ON or OFF the music, and numerous assistants that will check if the participants fold their papers properly and follow the rules.

The paper dance rules are easy to follow. The two-person participants need to dance around the sheet of paper. When the music stops, the players should be inside the perimeter of the paper. 5. Basagang Palayok

Basagang Palayok is a classic Filipino party game played on the streets during Christmas, festivals (fiesta), and birthday parties.

You need a budget for this because you have to purchase numerous palayok (clay pots), the contents/prize, and a stick or maybe a 2×2 lumber as props.

Basagang palayok is played individually. There should be two or more assistants to assist the player and also to protect the audience from accidentally getting hit by the player.

The game mechanics for Basagang Palayok are quite unique. The player is blindfolded while locating the position of the hanging clay pot. However, there is a twist. The assistant will place the player in the designated location, and spin the player roughly 3 times or even more before he/she can start to locate and hit the pot with the stick.

When the player luckily hits the Palayok (clay pot) and gets shattered. Both players and the audience can collect its contents scattered on the floor. Oftentimes, it contains candies, coins, and packets of cheese curls.

Basagang Palayok can be played outdoors. The materials used for Basagang Palayok are Palayok (Clay Pot), rattan stick, and handkerchief. Kids and Adults can play Basagang Palayok. The duration for playing Basagang Palayok is between 10 minutes to 15 minutes.

6. Longest Happy Birthday Greeting Game

The “Longest Happy Birthday Greeting Game” is one of the simplest party games that Filipinos play during birthday parties. It also has the simplest rules and needs only one material, which is the timer.

The participants range from young children (who are able to speak a word), and adults. Of course, the participants should be categorized properly based on age. The minimum number of participants for this game is 2.

As I said earlier the mechanics are easy to understand, the player needs only to greet the birthday celebrant with the word “Happy Birthday” the longest possible they can without faltering. Whoever participant was able to say the “Happy Birthday” word the longest wins.

The Longest Happy Birthday Greeting Game can be played indoors and outdoors. The types of equipment used for this game are a timer and a microphone. Kids and Adults can play this game. The duration for playing the Longest Happy Birthday Greeting Game is between 5 minutes to 15 minutes.

7. Bugtungan

Bugtungan refers to a game about exchanging and answering different types of Bugtong. This game can be played during children’s parties where the participants are aged 10 years and younger.

The rules for Bugtungan are there will be a game master and 5 or more participants. The game master will recite a Bugtong, and whoever among the participants will give the correct answer the fastest will become the winner.

Bugtungan can be played indoors and outdoors. The equipment used for this game is a microphone. Kids and Adults can play Bugtungan. The duration for playing Bugtungan is between 7 minutes to 12 minutes.

8. Pass the Action (Pass the Movement)

Pass the Action is a simple Filipino party game that can be played by 10 or more people. The main objective of “Pass the Action” is for players to be able to “pass the action” accurately to the last person participating in the game. This is by relaying the action to the player immediately next to them until it reaches the last person in the game.

The rule is there will be a leader and 10 or more people (eyes closed, or blindfolded) lined up at arm’s length behind the leader. The leader will then show the person next in line the series of Actions (Movements). The latter will then repeat the actions to the next person. The process continues up to the last person in the game. The last person will then demonstrate the movement to the participants to determine if they were able to relay the correct action.

This game can be played in 2 to 3 groups. The team who were able to relay the accurate Action wins the game.

Pass the Action can be played indoors and outdoors. The equipment used for Pass the Action is a microphone. Kids and Adults can play Pass the Action. The duration for playing Pass the Action is between 8 minutes to 13 minutes.

Pabitin is a classic Filipino party game that is often played at birthday parties for children. Pabitin refers to goodies such as candies, mini toys, bags of coins, and gifts that are loosely tied to a bamboo frame hanging in the air with the use of string.

The bamboo frame is raised and lowered using the string to allow children to reach for the goodies they want. The bamboo frame keeps going up and down until the kids grab all the goodies.

Pabitin can be played indoors and outdoors. The types of equipment used for Pabitin are a bamboo frame, a string, and goodies. Only kids can participate in Pabitin. The duration for playing Pabitin is between 3 minutes to 6 minutes.

10. Stop Dance (Dance Freeze)

Stop Dance (Dance Freeze) is a party game that is played by adults and kids during parties.

The rules for Stop Dance are simple, all the contestants will keep on dancing as the music is playing. And when the music stops, all the contestants should also stop immediately.

They will have to maintain their position until the music resumes. If they move, while the music is turned OFF, they will be eliminated in the game. The last contestant who remains in the game at the end is the winner.

Stop Dance can be played indoors and outdoors. The equipment used for Stop Dance is a music player. Kids and Adults can participate in Stop Dance. The duration for playing Stop Dance (Dance Freeze) is between 10 minutes to 15 minutes.

11. Calamansi Fruit Relay

Calamansi Fruit Relay is a classic pinoy party game where the players use a spoon in their mouth to carry and transfer the calamansi fruit to the next player in the team. The team that finishes the fastest wins the game.

The game rules of Calamansi Fruit Relay are there shall be 2 to 3 competing teams composed of 5 or more members. The members of the team will form a straight line. Each team will be given 1 calamansi fruit, and each team member will be given 1 plastic tablespoon.

The game starts when the first player of the team puts the calamansi fruit on their spoon. Afterward, they must walk past an obstacle that is 8 feet to 10 feet away before they can transfer the calamansi fruit to the player next in line. If the calamansi falls on the ground along the way, the current player must start from the beginning. The team that finishes first wins.

Calamansi Fruit Relay can be played indoors and outdoors. The materials used for Calamansi Fruit Relay are calamansi fruits, tablespoons, and chairs. Kids and Adults can play Calamansi Fruit Relay. The duration for playing Calamansi Fruit Relay is between 5 minutes to 8 minutes.

12. Balloon Pop Relay

Balloon Popping Relay is a Pinoy Party Game where players run as they carry an inflated balloon to a chair to pop it by sitting on it. The first team to pop all their balloons wins the game.

The game rules of Balloon Pop Relay are there shall be 2 or more competing teams composed of 6 or more members. The members of the team will form a straight line. Each team member has an inflated balloon.

The game starts when the first player of the team runs towards the chair that is 10 feet to 15 feet away. They must put the balloon on the chair and burst it by sitting on it. Afterward, they must run back to the line and tap the hand of the player next in line as a sign that it’s their turn to burst theirs.

Balloon Popping Relay can be played indoors and outdoors. The materials and types of equipment used for the Balloon Popping Relay are balloons, air inflators, and chairs. Kids and Adults can participate in Balloon Popping Relay. The duration for playing Balloon Popping Relay is between 1 minute to 3 minutes.

Traditional Pinoy Party Games

Filipinos are fun-loving people! It’s not unusual for them to celebrate almost every life’s milestones, even the smallest ones. Parties are typically loaded with various kinds of foods enough for all the guests and even their takeaways popularly referred to by the locals as “bring home”. Pinoy parties are even made more fun with party games.

1 | Trip to Jerusalem

Trip to Jerusalem can be played both indoors and outdoors best played by two or more people.

The game is played by arranging chairs in a circle. The number of chairs should be one less than the number of players. So if there are 10 players, there should be 9 chairs. When the music starts, the players should dance while going around the chairs. Each player must take a seat as soon as the music stops. The one who wasn’t able to get a seat is eliminated. A chair is then removed until there’s only one left for two players to fight for. The player who gets the last chair wins.

2 | Longest Line

Longest Line is best played in a wide space and by at least two teams. 

The goal of the game is to make a longest line out of the items found on the body of the group members. Players are divided into groups of equal size. They are given time, typically five minutes, to make a line using items such as shoes, slippers, belts, shirts, pants, handkerchief, and whatever is found on the body of the member. The one who makes the longest line within the allotted time wins.

3 | Bring Me

Bring Me can be played both indoors and outdoors best played by two or more people.

Also called “Give Me What I Want”, the game requires the player to bring to the host whatever he/she wants. It starts with the host saying “Bring me + item wanted”. The player who brings the item first gets the prize. The most popular items often asked include white hair, peso bills, and curly hair among others. 

4 | Statue Dance

Statue Dance can be played both indoors and outdoors best played by two or more people.

Similar to Trip to Jerusalem, this game also involves music and dancing. When the music plays, the players must dance and must freeze once it stops. Those who are unable to remain still get eliminated. The game continues until there’s only one person left who will be declared as the winner. To make the game more challenging, the mechanics are reversed. The players should dance when there’s no music and must freeze once it plays. 

5 | Paper Dance

Paper Dance can be played both indoors and outdoors played by partners.

The game requires a piece of paper, typically newspaper, and like Trip to Jerusalem, it involves music and dancing as well. Players are grouped into twos and must dance when the music is being played. Once the music stops, players must step on the paper and must stay that way until the music is played again. The couple whose feet are touching the ground is eliminated. The newspaper is then folded in half every round so it gets smaller and smaller. The last team standing is declared the winner.

6 | pabitin.

Pabitin can be played both indoors and outdoors with no maximum number of players although it is best to have separate rounds for shorter players and taller ones.

This game involves a suspended bamboo lattice tied with goodies which is lowered up and down to the eager players standing underneath. The players will then grab the goodies and get to keep whatever they could get. While the game is exciting, it can become quite dangerous when some players start to get violent just to get what s/he is aiming for.

7 | Pukpok Palayok

Pukpok Palayok is best played outdoors with no maximum number of players.

The local version of the piñata, pukpok palayok involves a clay pot called palayok instead of papier-mâché. The player is positioned a few meters away from the pot, gets blindfolded, spun around, and must walk towards the pot. The crowd distracts and confuses the player by yelling directions. Each player is given one to three chances to hit the pot. If the player missed it, s/he will have to go back in line and wait for her/his turn to try again. If the player hits the pot, the audience can get the goodies like candies, coins, and toys falling from the pot. The player who broke the pot is declared a winner and gets a prize.

8 | Tomato Dance

Tomato Dance can be played both indoors and outdoors played by partners.

The game requires partners to dance with a big, red tomato pressed between their faces. Partners must prevent the tomato from falling to the ground or from disintegrating else they’ll be eliminated. The last team standing is declared as the winner.

9 | Egg Relay

Egg Relay can be played both indoors and outdoors by at least two teams.

To play this game, players are divided into groups of equal size. The first player will then carry their egg on the spoon from the starting to a turnaround point and back again. The egg is then passed off to the next teammate who takes their turn. Players must be careful not to let the egg fall off the spoon else they will be required to stop, pick up the egg, and start again. The team who completes the relay first is declared as the winner. 

10 | Pop the Balloon

Pop the Balloon can be played both indoors and outdoors by at least two teams.

Players are divided into groups of equal size. Each player is given a balloon and each team has a chair positioned a few meters away from the starting line. As soon as the go signal is given, the first player of the team runs to the chair, sits on it to pop the balloon, and return to the team so the next players can take their turn. The first team to pop all their balloons is declared as the winner.

In another version of the game, a player sits on the chair so the first player can pop the balloon by sitting on his/her lap. Once the first player popped the balloon, s/he will replace the player sitting on the chair. With the first player sitting on the chair, the second will then pop the balloon by sitting on the lap of the first player. The process is repeated until every member of the team has their balloon popped.

Yet another version, one player leans on the chair while another place the balloon in between them so together they can pop the balloon while standing.

While these games are commonly played by children during birthdays and fiestas, they are played by adults as well during Christmas parties, reunions, team-building activities, and others.  Just one more reason why … “It’s More Fun in the Philippines”.

#1 Pitik Bulag Royal Rumble

Instead of the usual bato bato pick game, we came up with this instead. #TeamPatIra

#2 Guess the Song Wedding Games

For groomsmen, they have to guess the song title correctly to get eliminated. The last person standing wins the garter.

In the end, the chosen groomsman and bridesmaid will have to mirror the newlyweds kiss.

#3 Garter Wedding Game with a Twist

All the single guys will play stop dance, then they will have to pass around the garter. Once the music stops, the guy holding the garter will be eliminated.

The last guy standing will sit with a small flower between his legs. Then the single ladies will have to get that flower, until one single lady is left.

The single guy and the single lady will then be paired.

#4 Bouquet Throwing with a Twist

For the girls, instead of the traditional bouquet throwing, we had them form a circle. The bride is in the middle, and the single ladies are facing outside the circle.

They have to pass around the bouquet as the music plays. Once it stops, the lady holding the bouquet is automatically chosen!

#5 Ultimate Dance Challenge

Best dancer wins! No other rule.

While the wedding guests enjoy the show 🙂

#6 The Magic Saging

Yes, you read that right, The Magic Saging. Not Magic Sing.

The chosen guy will sit in the middle of the single ladies with a banana between his legs.

The single ladies have to catch the banana. Of course, the last single lady standing will be paired to the lucky guy!

#7 Acting Game

The couple needs to prepare a couple of famous lines from Tagalog movies and tv series.

Then, the participants will have to pick one and act it out.

Best actor or actress wins the game!

#8 Traditional Game

We all know the traditional wedding games: bouquet throwing and garter throwing.

Perfect for traditional couples!

#9 Pull the Ribbon

The single ladies will have to pick a ribbon connected to the bouquet.

Once everyone is holding the end of the ribbon, they will have to pull it to find out which ribbon will stay connected.

Only one ribbon remains and the single lady holding the end of it will win!

#10 Trip to Jerusalem with a Twist

This wedding game is similar to the Magic Saging. But more challenging.

Instead of using a banana, they use different vegetables every single round. From huge vegetables down to chili.

Now, imagine grabbing a chili in between a guy’s legs! Enough to make the crown go wild.

#11 Bet on Your Bride/Groom

We prepared video na minute to win it game style namin ni Hubby.

Each table will have a representative to guess who will win. Once they told us their guess, that’s the time we will play the video to reveal the winner.

#12 Find the Garter

The single ladies will be blindfolded. Then they will have to search for the lucky guy’s body to find the garter.

The first one to find the garter will be paired with the lucky groomsman.

#13 Dance Battle with a Twist

The groomsmen will have to do a dance battle and the couple will choose the two finalist.

And to make this more exciting, these two gents will have to showoff their dancing skills.

During the final showdown, the host will choose the grandwinner to be paired with the lucky lady.

We prepared two boxes filled with the names of our single friends. The first box is filled with single guys’ names, and the second box is for the single ladies. Then, we will pick one from each box to pair them.

Well, that’s what the audience know.

Because each box contain only 1 name. Yes, we set them up!

#15 Plane Ticket Raffle

This one is also a setup disguising as a raffle!

These two single friends expected to win an RT ticket. Instead, we did a little matchmaking for them.

#16 Dance Challenge

Both the groomsmen and the bridesmaids had to dance!

#17 Trip to Jerusalem and Tissue Box Wedding Games

The first game is Trip to Jerusalem with the bridesmaids, similar to the Magic Saging game.

Then, the groomsmen will have to play the tissue box game. They will need to shoot the ball inside the tissue box without using their hands. To make this fun, the losing guy will be blindfolded before he puts the garter to the lucky lady’s legs.

But wait, there will be some surprise!

There’s no lucky lady.

Because the guy who won the tissue box game will play the role of the lucky lady.

This will surely be fun since the blindfolded guy will have to keep guessing. Watch out for their reactions.

#18 Who Knows the Couple Better

Even before the actual program started, the time when we’re changing and prepping for the reception, we had a “who knows the couple better” challenge. The guests who got the right answers were treated with a specialized tote bag.

#19 Bouquet Carousel

There will be ribbons connected to the bridal bouquet , and the single ladies need to pick one ribbon.

As the music plays, the single ladies will have to dance around the bride.

And while the bride is blindfolded, she needs to cut the ribbons around her bouquet. The person holding the last ribbon connected to the bridal bouquet wins!

#20 Reverse Charades

#22 More Kiss Marks, More Chances of Winning

We chose couples for the game. The guys were provided with white shirts then they put on lipstick to the girls.

The guy wearing the shirt with most number of kiss marks wins!

#23 Shoot the Ball

Who says we can’t play basketball during wedding reception ?

#24 Guess the Song per Table

Our wedding band singer will sing a song and one representative per table will raise his/her hand to give their group answer.

#25 Feeding Bottles Wedding Games

We picked one bridesmaid and one groomsman for this game. They will have to mirror us, the newlyweds, when we kiss.

But we have a twist!

We also called in a gay friend.

The groomsman had to mirror the kiss to both the bridesmaid and the gay friend!

If you think the regular dance challenge is boring, you can always spice it up with some twerking!

#29 Find the safety pin wedding games

Ladies will be blindfolded as they search the lucky guy’s body for the hidden safety pins. The single lady who couldn’t find the safety pin will be paired to this lucky guy.

Watch out where will they find the hidden safety pins!

#30 Beauty Contest

Just like in any beauty contest, this game involves some cat walk and introduction.

While they are doing some fashion show, the audience will determine the winner based on the volume of claps.

If there’s one thing all Pinoys love, it’s a proper party – complete with lechon , lots of rice, inappropriate tita comments, and, of course, party games. We list down the most common party games that no proper Pinoy party should pass on:

8. Trip to Jerusalem

This game is played by arranging a bunch of chairs in a circle. Players should be one more than the chairs. So if you have 12 chairs, there should be 13 players. Dance-y music is then played as players go around the chairs. Players must then take a seat once the music stops. The person who doesn’t get seated is eliminated. A chair is also removed from the circle as the game progresses. The game gets real when there’s only one chair left and two players fight for it. This could get really dangerous, especially if the players are highly competitive. I’ve witnessed lips getting bloodied and shirts getting ripped. Now, that’s a game of thrones!

7. Bring Me

Bring Me is as straightforward as it gets. The host says “Bring Me + whatever he/she wants” and whoever brings the item first gets the prize. Items include the usual “puting buhok” and “10-peso bill” to the strange requests such as armpit hair and nail clippings. Makes you wonder if they’re brewing a potion of some sort and are just using the party as an excuse to get the ingredients.

6. Stop Dance

Like the Trip to Jerusalem, only without the chairs. Players must dance, but once the music stops, they must freeze. Those who are unable to remain still gets eliminated. You can also reverse the mechanics by having the players dance when there’s no music and freeze when there is. What a nightmare for awkward dancers!

5. Paper Dance

Similar to Trip to Jerusalem and Stop Dance in the sense that it requires stopping-and-starting music to eliminate players. The twist is that a piece of paper (usually a broadsheet) is used as the “dance floor”. Players are grouped into twos and hop on the paper when the music stops. The paper is then folded in half and gets tinier and tinier. The teams must find a way to remain upright within their respective “dance floor”. The last team standing wins.

4. Pinoy Henyo

A relatively new addition to Pinoy parties, Pinoy Henyo is played between teams of two. The goal is to guess a word (it could be a name, place, food, song title, etc). One team member gets to guess by asking yes-or-no questions. The other then replies with “Oo, Hindi, or Pwede.” The team who guesses correctly in the shortest amount of time is the winner.

3. Pukpok Palayok

It’s the Philippines’ version of the piñata, only instead of papier-mâché, we hit a clay pot called palayok . The player gets blindfolded, spun around, and yelled at with directions. If he/she succeeds at hitting the jackpot, the audience gets to dive for a shower of candies, barya , and other knickknacks. I’ve always thought this game was a way for the adults to let go of all their repressed anger.

2. Happy birthdaaaaaaaaaay

A fitness test, in a way, this game asks participants to hold their breath the longest while saying a phrase. Usually it’s “happy birthday”, but I’ve heard “Merry Christmas” and “welcome to the Christian world” too.

This game is often the highlight of Pinoy parties, specifically children’s birthdays. Goodies are tied on a suspended frame of kawayan and shiny palara . Players stand underneath as an operator lowers or raises the it as he/she pleases. Players get to keep whatever they could grab from the pabitin . This could also get violent. Children can become quite rabid at the prospect of free toys and candies. Be vigilant.

It is in Jerusalem where the ancient Jewish Temples stood, and billions of faithful believe Jesus was resurrected and the Prophet Muhammad ascended into paradise.

Amid the war in Gaza and tensions over access to major holy sites, this complex, ancient and diverse city that's central to Judaism, Islam and Christianity has remained largely peaceful.

"The present-day city contains so many religions, ethnic groups, ideologies, national identities ... all rubbing up against each other, but all very separate," says Rabbi Levi Weiman-Kelman, a former president of Rabbis for Human Rights, an Israeli organization. "Jerusalem holds out the promise of peace, of a shared space. I believe that God has called on all Jews, Christians and Muslims, Palestinians and Israelis ... to find a way to live together and share this holy city."

Over the centuries, Jerusalem has withstood invasions, sieges, attacks, division, reunification — and despite ongoing tensions, it endures as a city where people are able to practice and express their different and deeply held faiths, while adhering to strict rules and restrictions imposed on worship in this shared space.

Tension at Al-Aqsa Mosque is deepening with each day of the Israel-Hamas war

This spring, for the first time in three decades, Ramadan, Easter and Purim — holidays in Islam, Christianity and Judaism — all overlapped within a month-long period. With war raging in Gaza following the Oct. 7 Hamas-led attack on Israel, fresh restrictions on Palestinians' access to holy sites, and powerful challenges to longstanding rules about Jewish prayer at the Al-Aqsa compound, there were fears that tensions might flare uncontrollably and ignite violence in Jerusalem.

But the holidays passed with few incidents. Here are images showing the city during a holy month, and some of the people living, visiting and worshiping there.

The war: On Oct. 7, Hamas militants launched an unprecedented cross-border attack on Israel that included the taking of civilian hostages at a music festival . Israel declared war on Hamas in response, launching a ground invasion that fueled the biggest displacement in the region since Israel’s creation in 1948 .

Gaza crisis: In the Gaza Strip, Israel has waged one of this century’s most destructive wars , killing tens of thousands and plunging at least half of the population into “ famine-like conditions. ” For months, Israel has resisted pressure from Western allies to allow more humanitarian aid into the enclave .

U.S. involvement: Despite tensions between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and some U.S. politicians , including President Biden, the United States supports Israel with weapons , funds aid packages , and has vetoed or abstained from the United Nations’ cease-fire resolutions.

3 People Injured After Vehicle Attack in Jerusalem

The police arrested two men who fled the area after a car rammed into pedestrians. The Israeli authorities said the attack was an act of terrorism.

The Israeli authorities said they had arrested two men in Jerusalem on Monday after a vehicle was used to ram into pedestrians, injuring at least three people, in what the police called a terrorist attack.

Video of the episode broadcast on Israel’s Channel 12 shows a car speeding around a sharp corner and ramming into a group of people, who went flying over the top of the vehicle. Pictures shared on social media by the police show a white sedan that had crashed into another car on a small street.

After hitting the pedestrians, the vehicle appears to crash into a parked car, according to the video. Two young men then run out onto the street, pointing weapons, before fleeing the area.

The police said that the two men were arrested in a nearby store that was closed, and that a weapon used in the attack had been recovered.

It was the latest attack in Jerusalem in recent months, since Israeli forces went to war against Hamas in Gaza. Last month , a 15-year-old boy stabbed two Israelis at a checkpoint at the entrance to Jerusalem. In November , a gunman killed three Israelis at an entrance to the city, and a fourth Israeli who opened fire on the assailant was killed by Israeli soldiers who mistook him for a participant in the attack.

On Monday, video posted online by Channel 12 after the arrest shows men being led away by law enforcement officers as a crowd of ultra-Orthodox Jews, some standing on rooftops, clap and cheer.
