Cosy Amsterdam

Amsterdam will shine in all its glory as your canal boat sails along the UNESCO World Heritage-listed waterways of the city centre. They evoke all the magic of the Dutch Golden Age, a period of unprecedented economic, cultural, and scientific growth.

This fun cruise comes with exquisite local cheeses from both Amsterdam and towns beyond the city limits. Sample the smooth and creamy flavour of ‘Old Amsterdam’ cheese, based on a fiercely-guarded family secret, as well as the specially selected cheeses ripened by ‘Reypenaer’, and other young and ripened cheese. Take your pick out of three white wines, two red and two roses to enjoy along with the cheese.

Discover Amsterdam from the water

You’re invited to experience the Dutch capital in all its nocturnal splendour. Cruise down the winding waterways on our comfortable, modern boats, fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology to ensure your journey is the best it can be. Amsterdam from the water

With more than 75 kilometers of canals and approximately 1200 bridges, Amsterdam truly is a city built around its magnificent waterways. Many of the canals such as the Herengracht, Keizersgracht, and Prinsengracht trace their roots back to the Dutch golden age. Recognized for their unique and iconic beauty, Amsterdam’s canal belt has been added to the world heritage list of UNESCO since 2010. The canals played a vital role in the past and continue to hold significant relevance to the city today. Serving multiple purposes these canals served to keep buildings dry, facilitate the transportation of goods for merchants and enhance the cities defensive capabilities. Today the canals remain a popular way of cruising through Amsterdam for both for tourists and locals alike.

Amsterdam Canal Tour Reviews

1. best romantic tour: amsterdam: romantic canal tour with bubbly.

  • Duration: 1.5 hours
  • Departure: Keizersgracht 198, 1015 CZ
  • Departure Time:  4:00 PM
  • Includes: Expert romantic tour guide and skipper , blankets and heated seats , local cheese, grapes and crackers, small bottle of Prosecco and water

One of the best ways to see Amsterdam is from a canal cruise. There’s just something magical about floating down the calm waters as you pass by centuries-old buildings and under beautiful bridges.

The Romantic Canal Tour with Bubbly is one of the best if you’re looking for a great way to spend time with your significant other. What’s great about this tour is that you can customize it, depending on your specific interests.

Your guide will ask if you have any particular interests so they can tailor the experience to them. There are plenty of different departure times, and lasting 1.5 hours, it’s super easy to fit into even the busiest schedules. Whether you go day or night, it’s simply a magical experience you have to try at least once.

Meet up with your guide, and hop on board, where you’ll be acquainted with your local, certified skipper who is an expert in all things “Amsterdam”.

They’ll tell you all about the city’s history and specifically that of the canals. The district is UNESCO-listed, and it’s unique to just this area.

Not only that, but they provide insight into the locals’ way of life and how the canals are used present-day. There are many people who actually live in house boats docked at the sides of the canals, which is pretty cool!

As you’ll get to see so much of the city, once you’re on land you’ll find that navigating around is much easier.

Start out by meeting down at the wooden dock next to the “Sea Palace” restaurant. We found the boats to look brand-new, and are in excellent condition. It actually is one of the more luxurious boats we’ve seen, with the wooden sitting area sporting traditional windows and padded seats.

Actually, this traditional vessel is one of just a few in all of Amsterdam that holds the title of “floating monument status” due to its historic traits! If you’re curious, your guide will tell you all about this beauty.

Hi Guys, my name is Jeroen, a typical dutch name and hard to pronounce if you don’t speak dutch.

So I got the nickname Jack or Skipper Jack Amsterdam. That last part I got because of my knowledge of the city.

I was born and raised in this beautiful city, Amsterdam.

I have seen a lot of places in the world. But nothing feels so much like home as this city. The friendly and open-minded people of Amsterdam will immediately give you that great feeling of home.

See Why Guests Love to Cruise With Skipper Jack!

Super friendly, Skipper Jack was knowledgable and cheerfully answered any questions we had about Amsterdam. He also had a great assortment of cheeses, wines, and other local snacks!

The trip was my 3 rd in my five-day stay in Amsterdam. You don´t want to miss him! His vibrant personality makes for a very pleasant and comfortable experience. Snacks and drinks are plentiful and it was a really informative journey!

Exceptional knowledge of the city and the wine and snacks were plentiful! Fun to be on a smaller boat so that we could all talk to each other!

A must trip. Skipper Jack gives an educated and humorous guided ride through the canals of Amsterdam. He is a generous host who involves his guests with stories and adventure!

Skipper Jack's canal cruise was fantastic! Snacks and drinks including beers and wine! Captain Jack was knowledgeable and was able to answer our questions. The boat was lined with cushions making it very comfortable. Jack is a lovely man and it was a pleasure to be in his company!

Skipper Jack's canal tour was an amazing way to see such a beautiful city. We learned so much from our experience and really got our bearings. Captain Jack had great recommendations for us as well. The snacks and drinks on board were also an added bonus. Highly recommend booking this tour!

COVID-19 Regulations

All regulations regarding Covid-19 and canal cruises have been lifted.

The only thing I ask is to respect personal space regarding the other guests. And please desinfect your hands upon entering the boat. I have desinfect spray available. This is our policy, not regulated by the government.
