STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Q, Murr and Sal are hittin’ the road.
For the first time in three years, Staten Island’s own “Impractical Jokers” are going on tour. Brian “Q” Quinn, James “Murr” Murray and Sal Vulcano have announced the “DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE Tour,” set to launch in February with stops in 16 cities across the U.S. and Canada.
Pre-sale tickets to the Outback Presents- and Live Nation-produced tour are available starting Wednesday, Oct. 19. Tickets for all shows will go on sale Friday, Oct. 21, at 10 a.m. local and can be found via impracticaljokerslive.com .
The tour comes off the heels of the successful return of the truTV prank show and its new celebrity format following the departure of longtime “Joker” Joe Gatto .
The tour, which will feature never-before-seen videos and storytelling stand-up, will kick off in Pittsburgh on Feb. 2. While they won’t be playing a hometown show — at least, not right now — those in the NYC area can still catch the boys in Newark at the Prudential Center on March 10.
In addition, fans across the country will have an opportunity to meet the “Jokers” and introduce them on stage through a contest run by local radio stations in each city.
“Impractical Jokers” is truTV’s longest-running and top-rated original comedy. The Advance/SILive.com sat down with Murr earlier this year to talk about the success the pranksters have had. Murr also name-dropped his dream “Impractical Jokers” guest , and his dreams about buying some legendary Staten Island relics .

ABOUT IMPRACTICAL JOKERS
Brian Quinn (Q), James Murray (Murr) and Sal Vulcano are the Creators, Executive Producers, and Stars of truTV’s hit series, Impractical Jokers. Impractical Jokers is a hidden camera comedy show that follows Q, Murr and Sal as they compete to embarrass each other amongst the general public with a series of hilarious and outrageous dares. When Q, Murr and Sal challenge each other to say or do something, they have to do it... if they refuse, they lose! At the end of every episode - with the help of a celebrity guest - the episode's loser must endure a punishment of epic proportions. The series returns for its 10thseason in February 2023.
In addition to their top 5 comedy show on cable, and truTV’s longest running and top-rated original comedy, the guys have toured steadily over the last eight years with their wildly popular live show, performing for over one million fans in the US and UK, including six sold-out nights at Radio City Music Hall, a sold-out Madison Square Garden, and six sold-out shows at London’s The O2 Arena. Natives of Staten Island, NY, Q, Murr, and Sal met while attending high school and later formed The Tenderloins Comedy Troupe in 1999. After years of performing live improv and sketch comedy shows, The Tenderloins crossed over to the web, garnering millions of views for their internet sketches, eventually creating the runaway success Impractical Jokers for truTV.

The 'Impractical Jokers' Live Shows Are Fun for Most — Even if You Don’t Watch the Show
Jul. 22 2021, Published 3:40 p.m. ET
Fans of Impractical Jokers know all about the humor the guys present, which includes pranks on each other and the occasional dirty joke. But before the show came along, Sal Vulcano , Joe Gatto , James "Murr" Murray, and Brian "Q" Quinn were known as The Tenderloins, a comedy group that often performed together.
Impractical Jokers on TruTV helped skyrocket their improv troupe to stardom. And they still get to go on tour and perform live on-stage for their fans, though now it's under the same name as their TV show.
Some viewers are wondering what happens at a live Impractical Jokers show . The TV series has a specific formula involving filmed sketches, and a live version of that seems almost impossible.
What do the 'Impractical Jokers' do at their live shows?
According to a Reddit thread from 2016, the shows are worth attending. The four guys go on stage to tell jokes and tease each other. They also mix in videos of their pranks and memories from the TV show.
In that regard, the live shows have a strong similarity to the Impractical Jokers TV show, but you do get to see Sal, Joe, Murr, and Q play off each other in a live setting.
Someone else commented in the same thread to claim the jokes the guys tell during their live shows are written instead of improvised. If you go to a live I mpractical Jokers show expecting live improv, you might be a little disappointed. But they are live shows, so they're always evolving and changing in some capacity.
The 'Impractical Jokers' live shows aren't exactly kid-friendly.
Although you might watch Impractical Jokers with your kids, the live shows aren't super kid-friendly. People who have seen the show live have said the guys sometimes use crude language. The Impractical Jokers movie had some of that as well, so it makes sense that the live shows would be a little more PG-13 than the TV show.
How can you get tickets to see the 'Impractical Jokers' on tour?
The guys, who still call themselves The Tenderloins when they're on tour, announced a 2021 tour as the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions began to ease up around the United States. The tour appears to last from November 2021 until August 2022. You can find tickets on their website and you have to be 16 years old or older to attend.
Watching an #ImpracticalJokers marathon can #MakeMyBadDayGood … 😆 pic.twitter.com/sh7pbkYrT0 — 🦋 Lori C. ♏️ IJ Fandiva ❤️ (@LovelyEbonyDiva) July 19, 2021
You can purchase tickets for as little as $85. Once you add tickets to your virtual cart, you can also opt to pay $400 for a backstage tour with Murr. For $200, though, you can pay for a meet and greet package with him.
For the right Impractical Jokers fan (of the show and the improv troupe), both options are a small price to pay.

‘Impractical Jokers’ Q & Murr Preview Season 10 and Tease Tour
Impractical Jokers
- ‘Impractical Jokers’ First Look: Bobby Moynihan Disrupts a Wedding Dress Consultation
- ‘Yellowstone’ & More 2023 Memorial Day Weekend Marathons
The stars of Impractical Jokers sure know how to make fans laugh on truTV , and they’re bringing that infectious humor out on the road with their latest tour.
Ahead of their Season 10 return in early 2023, James “Murr” Murray , Brian “Q” Quinn , and Sal Vulcano announced that they will take their comedy across 16 cities beginning in February 2023. The lifelong friends who compete to embarrass each other on the hidden camera series Impractical Jokers are promising plenty of fun for fans who pay them a visit at one of the several scheduled shows part of the “ Drive Drive Drive Drive Drive Tour .”
(Credit: truTV)
The name for the tour comes from one of Season 9’s more memorable punishments in which Q recalls he had to drive in a car for hours while muppet-like characters “played this one 3o-second song over and over again. And that song was, ‘ Drive, Drive, Drive, Drive, Drive .’ And fans really reacted to it.” Q also teases that he and the guys “have something in the show that connects to that punishment.”
It’s been some time since the guys got in front of a live audience together for the “Cranjis McBasketball World Comedy Tour.” They were supposed to go out on the road for the “ Scoopski Potatoes Tour ” in the summer of 2020, but due to the pandemic, the tour was canceled. So, as Q puts it, “I can’t wait to get on stage with my friends and interact with the audience again.”
7 'Impractical Jokers' Callbacks Fans Will See in the Movie (VIDEO)
So, what can fans anticipate from the onstage event? Considering some changes to the Impractical Jokers ‘ show format since Joe Gatto ‘s exit, celebrity guests like Brooke Shields and Colin Jost have been filling in, and celebrities aren’t off the table for the live events. “There’s gonna be celebrity involvement in this show,” Q teases, but the celebrities in question aren’t exactly aware of that yet.
As for celebrities fans may see pop up in the next season of Impractical Jokers , Murr teases that there’s someone they’re really excited about, but it’s “too early” to say anything. Q promises, “your jaw will hit the floor” once all is revealed on truTV next year. Until then, Murr teases fans will learn more about his wedding night during the live shows, along with other fun moments not shared on television.
Tickets for the upcoming “Drive Drive Drive Drive Drive Tour” are on sale now for fans who are interested in attending. See the full listing here at impracticaljokerslive.com , and stay tuned for news on the upcoming season of Impractical Jokers kicking off early next year.

Impractical Jokers to kick off tour with Pittsburgh show
The Impractical Jokers are returning to Pittsburgh.
The stars of TruTV’s hidden-camera practical joke/reality show will launch their tour on Feb. 2, 2023, at PPG Paints Arena.

It’s the first tour in three years for the group, which had several Pittsburgh dates postponed and then cancelled during the covid-19 pandemic.
The Drive Drive Drive Drive Drive tour will feature new videos and storytelling stand-up from the comics, who have been on TruTV since 2011.
“We are so excited to finally get back on tour next year,” the group said in a release. “After the difficult last couple of years, we are looking forward to laughing again with all the Impractical Jokers fans out there and bringing them a personalized and intimate comedic experience like never before.”

Thanks for contacting us. We've received your submission.
They may be called the Impractical Jokers but the fun-loving trio have become increasingly practical these past few years when it comes to their busy schedules.
“It takes a lot to build the show,” Brian “Q” Quinn told the New York Post in an exclusive interview. “We’re shooting season 11 now; then, we’re shooting season 12.”
That’s not all, though.
Q — along with his comedy bandmates Sal Vulcano and James “Murr” Murray — are currently on the road hitting arenas, symphony halls, theaters, casinos, and performing arts centers all over North America as part of their ongoing ‘Drive Drive Drive Drive Drive Tour’ named after an infamous stunt involving puppets.
That includes stops at New York’s Radio City Music Hall on May 5, Atlantic City’s Ocean Casino Resort on July 13, Bethel’s Bethel Woods Center For The Arts on July July 19, Saratoga Springs’ Saratoga Performing Arts Center on July 20 and Syracuse’s Empower FCU Amphitheater on Aug. 23 for the Staten Island natives.
Due to their Herculean workload, they may be retiring the live show for a while.
“When this leg of the tour ends, I’m comfortable saying it will be years before you see us back on stage again,” Q explained. “It’s not a farewell tour because I’m sure we’ll be on stage again someday but if you want to see us together, this is the tour to come see.”
Even if they may be nearing the end of their touring lives for the time being, you won’t find a hint of melancholy onstage from the merry pranksters.
“Every night is fun,” Q smiled.
“We tell jokes and play videos we can’t show on television. Plus, this show (is) more interactive than the ones we had in the past.”
While Q couldn’t spill all the details, he did tease that the audience participation involves punishing Sal on stage.
“It’s a shocking punishment and we let a fan operate the buttons of pain. It’s the highlight of the show. Everybody’s crying laughing. Sal’s almost having a heart attack.”
If you want to get in on the fun — you could literally be part of the show after all — tickets are available for all 23 upcoming shows .

Below, you’ll find a practical breakdown of everything you need to know and more about the Impractical Jokers’ 2024 ‘Drive Drive Drive Drive Drive Tour.’
This interview has been edited and condensed for clarity.
Impractical Jokers 2024 tour schedule
A complete calendar including all tour dates, venues, and links to buy tickets can be found here:
Impractical Jokers Radio City history
The group has played the historic venue “six or seven times” according to Q.
Nothing made quite an impression like their first time at Radio City , though.
“It’s a union-run venue and they take it very seriously,” he said. “You’re not allowed to step onstage if it’s not showtime. So, the first time we played Radio City, we weren’t even allowed to go on the stage and look.”
“The first time I saw Radio City from that perspective was when we came out. It was like two minutes of us just gawking and the audience applauding. There were tears in our eyes. It was pretty wild. That doesn’t happen a lot.”
Impractical Jokers celebrity stories
Over the years, Q has had quite a few run-ins with big names.
“One time, J.K. Simmons’ wife and son came to one of our shows,” Q noted. “They sat in the front row. She’s very pretty and I made a comment about how pretty she was. Nothing disrespectful or anything like that.”
Cut to the “Spider-Man” premiere.
“I felt a presence over my shoulder. I turned around. J.K. was growling at me going, ‘I heard you called my wife pretty!’ When a guy you’ve been a fan of for years starts busting your chops like that, it’s pretty fun.”
When we asked about his favorite memory from the show, Quinn didn’t hesitate to answer.
“Every time I think about it, I still get excited,” he smiled.
“They did a punishment where Bruce Campbell came in. He basically put me through the plot of the first ‘Evil Dead’ movie. I was filthy, covered in blood. They broke real plates over my head and put tarantulas on me. That didn’t even make the final cut.”
Other standouts include Brooke Shields (“her capacity for comedy is unbelievable”), Post Malone (“the nicest guy around), and John Mayer (“we were only supposed to have do him one day but he wanted to do a full episode”).
There hasn’t been a dud in the bunch though, according to Q.
“Everybody who’s come on has been awesome,” he told us. “We even had the Alf puppet on!”
About “Drive Drive Drive Drive Drive”
For those not in the know, the tour is named after a classic Q punishment.
“We let the fans name this tour ‘Drive Drive Drive Drive Drive,'” Quinn recalled. This came from an episode where he drove around Manhattan with singing puppets that crooned the same 30-second song over and over for 12 hours.
“It was insane and it was real,” he was quick to tell us. “There was no time trickery. Now I bring the puppets on stage sometimes.”

Brian Quinn goes from firefighter to ‘Impractical Joker’
Brian Quinn and the rest of the Impractical Jokers get their embarrassment in front of the camera.
They get their adulation on the road.
“(Touring) is a lot more work, a lot more travel, being away from home,” Quinn said during a telephone interview. “On the TV show, at the end of the day, I’m back home with my cat. But it’s better in a lot of ways. On the TV show, you’re keeping your head down, not being seen, not being noticed. But being on stage, you feel that love you’ve gained over the years. Interacting with fans of the show, which we don’t get to do on TV, is kind of the best part of the job. You really feel the love, you see people so happy to see you.”
The Jokers will feel the love from Mahoning Valley fans when the trio brings its Drive Drive Drive Drive Drive Tour to the Covelli Centre on April 20.
For those who haven’t seen the TruTV television series, Quinn, James Murray and Sal Vulcano (and former member Joe Gatto) do a variation on “Candid Camera” -style hidden camera shows. However, while the unsuspecting people on “Candid Camera” usually were butt of the gag, on “Impractical Jokers” most of the humor comes from the embarrassing situations the stars are put in by their fellow cast members who have been friends since they were teenagers.
“We were just doing what we always did,” Quinn said.
However, on the television series, they do it on a much bigger scale. The guys started out as an improv troupe called The Tenderloins, which they did on the side while working day jobs.
For Quinn that day job was working as a New York firefighter, a job he kept during the first few seasons of “Impractical Jokers.”
Those worlds collided while shooting the fourth season. In every episode, the friends have to do different challenges and stunts with the loser facing a punishment. On one episode, Quinn has to perform a musical about his life. What he doesn’t know is the audience will be the crew from his old firehouse.
“We just found out ‘Impractical Jokers’ was renewed for seasons five and six, so I had to officially retire from FDNY,” Quinn said. “Before that, I had taken leave of absence. I was pretty emotional about it, and I didn’t know I was going there.”
The episode was edited to make it look like Quinn was laughing when he saw his fellow firefighters as his audience. In reality he was choking back tears.
“Those first few seconds I was getting really teary eyed and emotional,” he said. “Afterwards, I told the guys and we went to a bar and had many celebratory drinks.”
After facing life and death as a firefighter, one might think a job where the greatest risk is embarrassment would be easy by comparison.
“It was the opposite,” Quinn said. “I was used to being respected and appreciated. Now people were looking at me like a freak and a weirdo. That was actually hard.”
There are plenty of perks, though, even occasionally with the supposed punishments. One that turned out better than Quinn’s friends expected was an episode where Quinn had to reenact the movie “The Evil Dead” while being directed by the film’s star Bruce Campbell.
“It was putting my face in a swamp, hitting me with fake blood, breaking plates on my head, putting spiders on me,” he said. “It was like an endurance test with Bruce Campbell being mean to me the whole time. They told him (to act like) nothing I do is good enough.
“It was so hard to do physically, it killed me. But at the end of the day — ‘Oh my God I got to do ‘Evil Dead’ stuff with Bruce Campbell.’ I don’t care how hard it was, that was beautiful.”
The live show is a mix of standup comedy, behind-the-scenes stories, film clips (some shot specifically for the live performances and others that couldn’t be shown on television) and some audience interaction.
“We punish Sal on stage and have someone come up on stage and help us kind of torture Sal,” Quinn said. “It’s turning out to be a bigger hit than we thought it would be.”
After the tour ends, Quinn isn’t sure how long it will be before they do it again.
“Sal tours solo. Murr tours solo. I don’t tour solo. This might be the last time to get to see me on stage for a few years. If you’re a fan of old BQ, this would be the tour to see.”
There still is plenty of “Impractical Jokers” to come on television. Two episodes from season 10 haven’t aired yet, and the group is shooting season 11, which should debut by late summer.
“It was a major challenge making a hidden camera show during the COVID years, if you know what I mean,” Quinn said. “This is the first season since the pandemic where we’re really able to cut loose. It feels almost like a throwback to earlier seasons.”
And Quinn has other projects to keep him busy, although like “Impractical Jokers,” those projects give him a chance to hang with friends.
He’s appeared in several television series that involve his friend, show runner Terry Matalas.
“He puts me in as the same character in all of his shows — Dale, and I wear this specific tie. He put me in ’12 Monkeys,’ I popped up in ‘MacGyver,’ I popped up in ‘Picard.’ I’ll be popping up in a couple more things coming up. If you follow the scenes, they roughly tell a story about Dale, what we’re calling the Daleverse. Terry goes, ‘Hey, we’re doing this. You want to have some fun?’ I’m not sure I’d want to do things without my friend. I wouldn’t want to audition, go to a set not knowing anybody, ‘Hey, I’m here for a week and playing whatever’ … I don’t think I’m the greatest actor on the planet, but I have a lot of fun doing it.”
