Really enjoyed it! Good boat, good food, great snorkelling and also the CEO helped me so I could do a dive instead of snorkelling one of the days which I really appreciate. Could skip the beach clean up, not that its not needed but after collecting several of bags with trash the bags where just left on the island. Just left us all with a bad feeling, first of all seeing all the trash and then collecting as much as we could, was so much left though, just to leave it on the island in the end 🤷‍♀️. BUT the tour was great!

We went on this trip in March 2013 and we had a wonderful time, as it was a great way to see such a beautiful place. The overall trip was excellent value and the itinerary enabled us to experience the Maldives in so many ways and also with a small group. We did both of the now optional extras and the crew on the boat were very friendly and helpful and the food was fabulous and in ample supply as well as variety to meet everyone’s taste’s. They also took us to great places for snorkeling which enabled us to see sea turtles, sting rays and even a shark not to mention the many species of beautifully coloured fish. We stayed at the Paradise Island resort and this was a lovely way to end the trip. We would not have thought to do such a trip and were glad that we took advantage of the discounts and booked it at the TNT Travel Show. We will definitely look to book a future trip with encounters travel.

8 day Heavenly Maldives with 3 adventures

The hotel offered in this tour is really nice and cosy, just by the beach with a splendid view of the crystal sea. I went snorkeling and diving, took a fishing tour and even went on a submarine tour. In Maldives, there are more than a thousand achingly stunning islands (only 200 of which are inhabited). Maldives have attracted millions of visitors from all around the world to come and relax at this peaceful island retreat.

Once you arrive in Maldives, its easy to see why it's home to the most gorgeous beaches in the world. If you are a fan of idyllic beaches, pristine white sandy beaches, and azure blue ocean, Maldives is for you.

Did we mention Maldives is also one of the most romantic travel destinations? Maldives epitomises the definition of a romantic getaway. This idyllic cluster of islands and atolls is a perfect honeymoon destination for newlyweds looking for some leisure time together. Here are some of the romantic activities you can do while you’re in Maldives:

- Walk on a lonely sandbank amongst the thousands of islands here with the love of your life right next to you. 

- A candlelight dinner in an exclusive villa by the sea as you watch the sunset.

- Experience a relaxing massage while listening to the sound of the waves crashing.

- Lay down and watch millions of stars until the sun rises.

- You can walk on the stars beneath your feet at a bioluminescent beach at Vaadhoo Island.

HOW TO MAKE MALDIVES CHEAP

Although it may seem so, Maldives is not just expensive villas and exclusive retreats. It's easy to fall into the "high-end" trap. But with some smart spending and online research, Maldives won't cost an arm and a leg. Here's how you can travel Maldives without if you're on a tight budget: 

- You don’t have to stay inside exclusive villas and private islands. Maldives do offer cheaper resorts around the islands (do note the word ‘cheaper’). Prices can go as low as MVR780 (or RM210) per night 

- Ride public ferries. Ferries there will transfer you to most of the islands around Maldives. You can even go from Male to Maafushi island for just 56 Rufiyya (Or RM15). Make sure to plan ahead and check the ferry's timetable as there are certain days that they do not operate (no ferries on Friday)

- Always be on the lookout for some cheap flights. Flying using AirAsia can go as high as RM1000 (one-way-trip). But if you're lucky enough and plan ahead, you can get bargain prices on their website (even getting RM550 on a one-way-trip). Also be wary of their promo deals.

WHAT IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT MALDIVES

Bad weather and offset temperatures can ruin anybody's vacation. And when you're forking out some major cash to visit Maldives, you will want to minimise anything that stands in your way of a good time. 

Although the Maldives does enjoy all-year-round sunshine, the best time to go for the Maldives is between November and April. Avoid going to Maldives between May to October as monsoon runs around there, peaking around June. So please choose your dates wisely to enjoy more sun than clouds on your next trip to the Maldives. 

WHAT TO DO IN MALDIVES

It's easy to expect Maldives is a typical beach retreat. But that is far from the truth. Maldives is a beach paradise like no other. Although it does not boast world-class entertainment, you can expect serenity in every corner here. From chilling by the beach to water sports, Maldives offers sea activities with a view to match. Here are some things you can do in Maldives:

- Maldives have diving spots that will blow your oxygen tank away.  A famous diving spot is at Vilamendhoo Island Resort (located at the South Ari Atoll).  Its only 25 minutes away from Male Airport (via seaplane). There you can also dive to watch manta rays and whale shark in an exclusive resort. 

- For some clean and gnarly waves, North Male Atoll is where you can get shoulder-to-head high waves. There you can find waves break close to shore. The Central Atolls too is famous for bringing in world-class breaks. 

- You can try your feet on paddleboarding. This increasingly popular activity is where you stand on a board and paddle your way through Maldives' azure blue waters and feel its warm waters. 

- You can go for dolphin watching in Maldives. The best spot to go dolphin watching is at Muli Channel in the Meemu Atoll. Although there are only two resorts within the vicinity, Muli Channel is famous for its active dolphin activities. The most active time for dolphins to come out and say hello is between 9.00 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. in morning, and from 3.30 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. in the evening. 

WHAT TO EAT IN MALDIVES

Food in Maldives is fresh from the sea! Fish is the main core of any Maldivian traditional cuisine. From main dishes to evening snacks, Maldives will leave you full and happy throughout your visit there. Here are some of the dishes you should be on the lookout when visiting Maldives: 

- Mas Huni is a dish where shredded smoked tuna is mixed with onion, coconut, lemon and some chilli to add a little spice. Mas Huni is usually eaten with a flatbread (or known as Roshi)

- Boshi Mashuni is translated as Banana Flower Salad. Made from a shredded banana flower, Boshi Mashuni is a blend of salsa and salad. Fresh coconut, exotic spices and some Maldivian chilli on top of the banana flower. You can choose to out some lime to add some zest to the dish. 

- Garudhiya is a clear tuna fish broth that is usually eaten with rice

- You can also find delicious street food in Maldives.

WishTravelers adalah brand milik PT WISATA IMPIAN UNIVERSAL, selanjutnya syarat dan ketentuan yang berlaku akan mengikuti kebijakan resmi dari PT WISATA IMPIAN UNIVERSAL, sebagai berikut:

Pendaftaran & Pembayaran

Pembayaran yang telah dibayarkan kepada PT WISATA IMPIAN UNIVERSAL tidak dapat dikembalikan (Non – Refundable)

• Peserta yang telah terdaftar, tidak diperkenankan pindah atau mengganti paket tour

Peserta bersedia memenuhi kelengkapan persyaratan dokumen sesuai dengan ketentuan dan jadwal dari pihak Kedutaan Negara yang dituju.  Biaya visa tidak dapat dikembalikan walaupun visa tidak disetujui oleh Kedutaan, demikian juga dengan biaya deposit hotel, tiket pesawat, land arrangement, maupun biaya lainnya yang telah dibayarkan karena adanya tenggat waktu yang tidak sesuai dengan waktu penyelesaian proses visa dari kedutaan.

Apabila peserta tidak melakukan Pembayaran tagihan hingga batas waktu yang diberikan, maka dengan berat hati peserta telah membatalkan trip dan PT WISATA IMPIAN UNIVERSAL berhak menjual kembali ketersediaan seat tersebut untuk memenuhi kuota minimum.

Peserta wajib melunasi seluruh biaya perjalanan paling lambat 30 (tiga puluh) hari sebelum tanggal keberangkatan trip, walaupun visa masih dalam proses.

Pendaftaran yang dilakukan kurang dari 30 hari sebelum tanggal keberangkatan trip harus langsung dibayar lunas.

Peserta berusia 63 tahun keatas wajib membawa pendamping dan didaftarkan oleh pendamping tersebut, demi kenyamanan saat tour berlangsung dan mengurangi resiko salah pemahaman terhadap syarat dan ketentuan yang berlaku di PT. WISATA IMPIA UNIVERSAL.

• Peserta wajib mengikuti prosedur pembayaran yang berlaku. Pembayaran resmi hanyabisa dilakukan melalui website resmi di wishtravelers.com   dan Wishtravelers tidak bertanggung jawab atas pembayaran yang dilakukan ke nomor rekening selain atas nama PT. WISATA IMPIAN UNIVERSAL .

( Deviasi; P erubahan, perpanjangan, penambahan/penyimpangan rute perjalanan di luar rute perjalanan yang telah dijadwalkan oleh PT WISATA IMPIAN UNIVERSAL )

Deviasi dapat dilakukan apabila peserta telah melakukan pembayaran deposit dan melampirkan paspor.

Deviasi dapat dilakukan apabila jumlah Peserta trip yang berangkat dan yang pulang telah memenuhi kuota dari ketentuan maskapai penerbangan.

Apabila deviasi sudah disetujui maka akan peserta wajib membayar biaya sesuai dengan ketentuan maskapai penerbangan dan tidak dapat kembali ke jadwal semula.

Deviasi bagi peserta yang akan mempersingkat jadwal trip tidak akan diberikan pengurangan biaya dari paket semula.

Jika peserta melakukan perpanjangan (extend) dari jadwal trip yang telah ditentukan maka PT WISATA IMPIAN UNIVERSAL tidak menjamin ketersediaan seat pesawat. Jika permintaan deviasi tidak disetujui oleh pihak maskapai penerbangan, makan jadwal penerbangan akan kembali ke jadwal semula.

Jika Peserta melakukan perpanjangan (Extend) maka PT WISATA IMPIAN UNIVERSAL tidak bertanggung jawab atas segala yang terjadi kepada peserta setelah trip berakhir, dan peserta wajib melampirkan surat yang menyatakan bahwa peserta sudah tidak berada di bawah pengawasan PT WISATA IMPIAN UNIVERSAL.

Jika Peserta membatalkan Trip sebelum tanggal keberangkatan, maka seluruh biaya yang telah masuk bersifat hangus atau tidak dapat dikembalikan  (Non-Refundable) .

Hal diatas juga berlaku untuk:

Peserta yang  mengganti paket / jenis tour dianggap membatalkan trip yang telah terdaftar.

Peserta yang terlambat memberikan persyaratan visa dari batas waktu yang telah di tentukan PT WISATA IMPIAN UNIVERSAL dan mengakibatkan Peserta tidak dapat berangkat tepat pada waktunya karena permohonan visa nya masih diproses oleh Kedutaan.

Pembatalan yang dilakukan oleh salah satu pihak (Peserta atau PT WISATA IMPIAN UNIVERSAL) karena bencana alam, perang, wabah penyakit, aksi teroris atau keadaan ‘ Force Majeure ’  lainnya, maka ketentuan-ketentuan di atas dapat berubah sewaktu-waktu tanpa pemberitahuan terlebih dahulu, tergantung dari kebijakan pihak airlines, hotel dan agen di luar negeri.

(Force Majeure; Suatu kejadian yang terjadi di luar kemampuan manusia dan tidak dapat dihindarkan sehingga suatu kegiatan tidak dapat dilaksanakan sebagaimana mestinya ).

PT WISATA IMPIAN UNIVERSAL berhak membatalkan pendaftaran Peserta tour yang belum membayar uang muka, tagihan atau pelunasan sesuai batas waktu yang telah ditentukan PT WISATA IMPIAN UNIVERSAL

Bila permohonan visa ditolak, sedangkan tiket sudah diterbitkan sebelum permohonan visa disetujui, sehubungan dengan tenggat waktu yang ditentukan Maskapai penerbangan (airlines), maka biaya visa tidak dapat dikembalikan dan Peserta tetap dikenakan biaya pembatalan dan administrasi sesuai dengan ketentuan yang berlaku.

Pengembalian Uang

Tiket pesawat udara, kereta api, dan transportasi lainnya serta akomodasi yang tidak terpakai tidak dapat diuangkan kembali (non-refundable).

Bila calon Peserta tour berhalangan/sakit sebelum tanggal keberangkatan yang dijadwalkan maka pengembalian uang/biaya pembatalan, akan mengacu kepada pasal pembatalan.

Bila ada pelayanan dalam paket yang tidak digunakan oleh para Peserta dikarenakan berhalangan atau sakit selama perjalanan, para Peserta tidak berhak menuntut uang kembali.

Bagi Peserta tour yang tidak diijinkan masuk atau dikenakan tindakan deportasi oleh pihak imigrasi Negara setempat (walaupun sudah memiliki visa), atau yang ditolak oleh perusahaan penerbangan, atau dalam perjalanan menderita sakit, atau ada kelainan jiwa, atau dalam perjalanan mengalami kecelakaan, yang terpaksa harus kembali atau menyimpang dari perjalanan yang telah ditentukan dalam acara tour, atau terpaksa membatalkan sebagian/hampir seluruh perjalanan setelah keberangkatan, tidak berhak atas pengembalian uang atau bentuk pengembalian lain apapun atas jasa-jasa yang belum atau tidak digunakan.

Pihak PT WISATA IMPIAN UNIVERSAL dan Seluruh Agen – Agen Tidak Bertanggung Jawab Dan Tidak Bisa Dituntut Atas:

Kecelakaan, kehilangan koper dan keterlambatan tibanya koper akibat tindakan pihak maskapai penerbangan atau alat pengangkutan lainnya, maka standard penggantian didasarkan pada ketentuan maskapai penerbangan internasional atau penyedia jasa pengangkutan yang digunakan.

Kehilangan barang pribadi, koper, titipan barang di airport, hotel dan tindakan kriminal yang menimpa Peserta tour selama perjalanan.

Keterlambatan atau pembatalan jadwal penerbangan, dan seluruh kejadian yang terjadi di luar kuasa pihak PT WISATA IMPIAN UNIVERSAL

Perubahan atau berkurangnya acara perjalanan akibat dari bencana alam, kerusuhan dan lain sebagainya yang bersifat ‘ Force Maj eur e’ .

Meninggalkan Peserta akibat sakit yang diderita atau kecelakaan selama dalam tour.

Pihak PT WISATA IMPIAN UNIVERSAL Dan Seluruh Agen-Agen Berhak:

Demi kenyamanan dan kelancaran perencanaan perjalanan tour, PT WISATA IMPIAN UNIVERSAL berhak untuk menerbitkan tiket pesawat, kereta api dan transportasi lainnya, akomodasi, tiket masuk objek wisata tanpa melakukan konfirmasi lisan maupun tertulis kepada pendaftar yang telah melakukan deposit.  

Demi kenyamanan dan kelancaran perencanaan perjalanan tour, PT WISATA IMPIAN UNIVERSAL berhak meminta Peserta tour untuk keluar dari rombongan apabila Peserta tour yang bersangkutan mencoba membuat kerusuhan, mengacaukan acara tour, meminta dengan paksa, dan memberikan informasi yang tidak benar mengenai acara tour, dll.

Mengganti hotel-hotel yang akan digunakan berhubung hotel tersebut sudah penuh dan mengganti dengan hotel lain yang setaraf sesuai dengan pertimbangan dan konfirmasi. Apabila dalam periode tour di kota-kota yang dikunjungi sedang berlangsung pameran/konferensi maka akan diganti dengan hotel-hotel lain yang setaraf di kota-kota terdekat.

Jadwal tour dapat berubah sewaktu-waktu mengikuti kondisi yang memungkinkan dengan tanpa mengurangi isi dalam acara tour tersebut.

Pihak PT WISATA IMPIAN UNIVERSAL berhak menagih selisih harga tour dan lain-lainnya (jika terjadi kenaikan harga tour, airport tax, dll) kepada calon Peserta.

Maldives Tries to Win Back Indian Tourists As Arrivals Fall 40%

While Maldives enjoys record-breaking arrivals, its tourism companies aren't about to let the Indian market keep falling. They're on a mission to reverse the trend.

The Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators is determined to increase Indian arrivals to the island destination and is taking steps to achieve this.

“Indian arrivals to the Maldives have gone down by almost 40%,” said Abdulla Ghiyas, the association’s president, in an exclusive interview with Skift.

In early January, #BoycottMaldives started trending in Indian social media following a diplomatic dispute between the two countries. Indians accused Maldivian politicians of making disparaging remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

As a result, India, which was the number 2 source market for Maldives, has now fallen to number 6 . India’s share of visitors had been almost 11% – it has shrunk to 5.6%.

Promotions in Indian Cities

Ghiyas said the association will be hosting roadshows in 3 Indian cities in July and confirmed to Skift that one of the cities would be Bengaluru.

The association also plans to engage with Indian social media influencers. “We also want to see how we can work with the tourism board in Maldives as we have partnered with them in the past as well. There are talks that the tourism board is also planning of doing something in India,” Ghiyas said.

At the July roadshows, he said he’s keen to look at cities that have direct connectivity with Maldives.

Ghiyas expressed a desire to have conducted the roadshow earlier, noting that May is when Indian outbound travel peaks. However, he mentioned plans for another round of roadshows towards the end of the year, aiming to include Tier 2 cities. “Even if they lack direct flights to the Maldives, these cities would represent an important market for us,” he said.

Maldives has so far received (from January 1-April 15) 693,867 tourists, up from 606,395 arrivals for the same period last year, as per the latest data from the Maldives tourism ministry.

China is the top source market for the island destination, followed by UK and Russia.

Between January 1-April 15, almost 39,000 Indians visited Maldives, a decline of almost 40%, compared to the 64,250 arrivals for the same period last year.

“We might not talk immediately about the growth scenario, but I would definitely like to see the 40% decline narrow down,” Ghiyas said.

Can’t Ignore India

While Maldives has experienced record-breaking tourism arrivals so far, Ghiyas said it still needs India. “There are properties and resorts that rely heavily on the Indian market, which have been severely affected. This will hurt us in the long term and that is why we have decided to engage with the India market.”

Aminath Suzan, CEO of Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators, pointed to cultural ties, such as similarities in food, language, and pop culture. “We must ensure that unrelated matters do not negatively impact the bond, for which we have dedicated years and built this alliance.”

The association members also recently met with Munu Mahawar, the Indian high commissioner in Maldives, to collaborate closely with his office to boost tourism initiatives.

Dubbing the meeting with Mahawar “positive,” Ghiyas said the high commission has offered assistance to the association. “Once we have a concrete plan, we will definitely follow up with the High Commission and share our plans.”
