Taylor Swift Shares 'Long Live' Performance Clip and Releases Extended Eras Tour Film on Her 34th Birthday

The crowds in stands went wild for Taylor Swift at the Eras Tour — and now they can do the same from home.

On Wednesday, the pop superstar released an extended version of her concert film Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (available to rent via video on demand services) in honor of her 34th birthday and posted to Instagram to thank fans for their support.

The extended version of the Eras Tour movie features performances of Lover 's "The Archer," 1989 's "Wildest Dreams" and Speak Now 's "Long Live," which were previously omitted from its theatrical release. To celebrate the film's at-home availability, Swift premiered a clip of the "Long Live" performance on TODAY and later shared the video to Instagram alongside a sweet caption.

"I had the time of my life fighting dragons with youuuu," she wrote, referencing track's lyrics. "Celebrate 34 with me by watching The Eras Tour (Extended Version) including 'Long Live' 🐉 'The Archer' 🏹 and 'Wildest Dreams' 🩵 at home!"

Swift continued, poking fun at fans' feedback regarding her social media posting style: "PS troll me all you want about my excessive and literal millennial emoji use but A) no one’s prouder to be a millennial and B) it’s my bday and today I am exempt! 🎂"

Earlier this week, Swift also premiered a clip of "The Archer" from the film on TODAY , which saw her dressed in her  pastel-colored Atelier Versace bodysuit as she sang the lyrics: “Combat, I'm ready for combat / I say I don't want that, but what if I do? / 'Cause cruelty wins in the movies / I've got a hundred thrown-out speeches I almost said to you."

Originally, the cinematic version of Swift’s career-spanning 2023 tour came in at just over 2 hours and 45 minutes, shortened from the live show runtime of 3 hours and 15 minutes. Now, the  Extended Version  is about 15 minutes longer. 

As the concert film directed by Sam Wrench was shot over the course of her August performances at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, a handful of other portions of the setlist still won’t be included in the on-demand version. “Cardigan” and “No Body, No Crime” with  Haim , played at the L.A. dates, won’t be included, and other songs from the tour like “Invisible String,” “Nothing New” with  Phoebe Bridgers , the “Seven” interlude and “'Tis the Damn Season” also won’t be featured.

The  Midnights  artist announced  The Eras Tour (Extended Version)  in late November when she revealed that it would be available to rent at home starting on Dec. 13 in honor of her 34th birthday. 

At the time, she shared the news by posting a clip of “Wildest Dreams” from her concert on  social media . In the caption she wrote, “Well, so, basically I have a birthday coming up and I was thinking a fun way to celebrate the year we’ve had together would be to make The Eras Tour Concert Film available for you to watch at home!”

She continued, “Very happy to be able to tell you that the extended version of the film including ‘Wildest Dreams,’ ‘The Archer’ and ‘Long Live’ will be available to rent on demand in the US, Canada & additional countries to be announced soon starting on … you guessed it, December 13 🫶💋.”

GLENDALE, Ariz. – Taylor Swift wowed fans with a dream show at her first concert tour since 2018.

During the March kickoff of The Eras Tour at State Farm Stadium outside of Phoenix, the iconic singer-songwriter unveiled a massive 44-song setlist that, appropriately, tagged every frame of her 17-year-career.

On July 7, she added "Long Live" to the set, from the "Taylor's Version" of "Speak Now."

Taylor Swift 'Long Live' Finally Added To 'The Eras' Tour Setlist As 'Speak Now' Debuts #1

For those who have been with Taylor Swift since the mid to late 2000s, you would probably know what "Long Live" meant and why it is one of her most underrated songs on "Speak Now."

Now that the album has finally been re-recorded and debuted again at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart like its original version, Taylor Swift seemed to have finally added the song to her official setlist at "The Eras" Tour.

Taylor Swift rocked the last night of "The Eras" Tour in Denver, Colorado with a powerful addition of another "Speak Now" song on its "era."

Before, "Enchanted" was the only song from "Speak Now," but it seemed like "Long Live" has finally been added to the mix. (via Cinema Blend )

In the now-viral videos, Swift can be seen faking out as she briefly walked away from the audience after singing "Enchanted." As she looked back, she put her guitar on and spoke directly to the packed Empower Field, thanking the fans for the support they have shown for the release of "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" in the past week.

Swift just re-released "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)," the third re-recorded version of her album, following "Red (Taylor's Version)" and "Fearless (Taylor's Version)."

The song first debuted at her Kansas shows the other week, aside from her weekly surprise songs. On Denver's 2-day show, Swift performed "Picture To Burn" from the debut album and "Timeless" from "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" a from the vault song. On her second day, she performed "Starlight" from "Red" and "Back To December" from "Speak Now."

Taylor Swift 'Long Live' Lyrics Meaning

According to Genius , Taylor Swift has always referred the "Long Live" lyrics as a "love letter" to her fans.

"This song is about my band, and my producer, and all the people who have helped us build this brick by brick," she previously wrote on her blog, as quoted by Genius .

"The fans, the people who I feel that we are all in this together, this song talks about the triumphant moments that we've had in the last two years," she added. "'Long Live' is about how I feel reflecting on it. This song for me is like looking at a photo album of all the award shows, and all the stadium shows, and all the hands in the air in the crowd. It's sort of the first love song that I've written to my team."

Taylor Swift Officially Added 'Long Live' To The Eras Tour Setlist, And The Swiftie Reactions Are Giving Me Major Chills

I f you’re a longtime Swiftie, chances are you know how much “Long Live” means to Taylor Swift and her fans. It’s one of the singer’s sweetest tunes, as it was written for her band and fans as a tribute. With Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) out in the world, after she announced the album release during a show in May , Swift has been showing more love to the songs on that album during her Eras Tour. Now, I'm getting chills seeing footage from her Friday show in Denver, Colorado, where “Long Live” officially joined the tour’s setlist. 

The tour is split up into sections, in which the songstress focuses on playing songs from the album of a specific time and has a stunning Eras outfit to go with each. For all the dates prior, she comes out in a big purple ball gown just to sing “Enchanted,” before leaving the stage and changing into her Red era outfit. But last night, she stayed in the dress to play “Long Live” too. Check out the moment, via TikTok along with a fan's totally relatable caption:

Denver getting to see “Long Live” live while Taylor Swift was in her Speak Now dress marks the third time the singer has done so in the tour, making it clear that it’s here to stay now. And no, it wasn’t one of the Eras' surprise songs , because there’s a separate section of the concert where Taylor Swift sits at a piano and plays two tracks not on the setlist. During Denver Night 1, she played “Picture To Burn” from her debut album and “Timeless,” which is one of the vault songs she just released last week on her latest album.

It looked like an absolutely magical moment during the evening, and dare I say, the crowd was “wonderstruck” over the 33-year-old Grammy winner playing “Long Live” for the crowd. I have absolute goosebumps at this video of Swifties collectively pointing at Taylor Swift as she sings the line “I had the time of my life fighting dragons with you.” Check it: 

But with all the excitement, we do have to give a moment of silence for the Swifties who have already seen the Eras Tour and didn’t get to see the fan-favorite song sung by Ms. Taylor live prior to Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) coming out. As one fan lamented: 

Even so, it looks like Taylor Swift, being the mastermind she is, is crafting all sorts of surprises for fans as the tour goes on, and the setlist is expected to change as she takes the Eras tour to South America, Japan, Australia and Europe across the next year. The full Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film is finally coming to streaming — with 4 bonus surprise songs

"Cardigan" and four songs from the acoustic set will be included in the "Taylor's Version" cut of the movie, which is heading to Disney+.

Just days after announcing her 11th studio album , The Tortured Poets Department , Taylor Swift has unveiled the long-awaited streaming plans for her blockbuster Eras Tour concert film .

Disney+ announced Wednesday that it will be the exclusive streaming home of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version) , a cut of the film that will present the concert in its entirety for the first time. The new version of the movie, which also includes the song "Cardigan" and four additional acoustic songs, will make its streaming debut March 15. Swift shared the news on social media shortly after Disney's announcement.

The Eras Tour film, directed by Sam Wrench, grossed more than $260 million at the global box office, making it the top selling concert film of all time.

In making the announcement, Disney CEO Bob Iger said, "The Eras Tour has been a true phenomenon that has and continues to thrill fans around the world, and we are very excited to bring this electrifying concert to audiences wherever they are, exclusively on Disney+."

The film debuted in theaters Oct. 13, and noticeably excluded five songs from the Eras Tour set list as it was performed in Los Angeles in August, when the film was shot: "No Body No Crime," "Wildest Dreams," "The Archer," "Cardigan" and "Long Live." When it later headed to VOD rentals on Swift's birthday on Dec. 13, a new version of the film featured the performances of "Wildest Dreams," "The Archer" and "Long Live" tacked on at the end, but not the other two songs.

Given that this new Taylor's Version of the film is being touted as being shown "in its entirety for the first time," it stands to reason that all the missing tracks will finally take their rightful place in the film, in addition to four additional acoustic songs. But since "No Body No Crime" is not explicitly mentioned and "Cardigan" is, it would appear "NBNC"will likely be the only song to not make the cut, presumably since it was a performance with Haim unique to only a small handful of Eras Tour dates, and the concert film is more inclusive of the tour as a whole.

As for the four new acoustic performances in the film, on each of the three nights the concert was filmed in L.A., Swift performed two different surprise songs during the acoustic set, meaning there were six different possibilities for the film in that section of the show. In the original theatrical and and VOD rental versions, only "You're On Your Own, Kid" and "Our Song" made the cut. That means that the remaining acoustic performances of "I Can See You," "Maroon," "You Are in Love," and "Death by a Thousand Cuts" will likely be in the film somewhere.

By reliving her life in concert—and now, in film—Swift has allowed her most dedicated fans to do the same.

To put it simply, I loved the Eras Tour, and Swift is unbelievably good at what she does. But for weeks after that concert, I tried to untangle why, throughout so much of the night, I had felt distracted, pulled in so many different directions at once. For one, I was distracted by the hordes of concert-goers in Eras-themed costumes. (As we walked with a sea of expertly dressed fans toward the stadium, my friend turned to me and said, “Can you imagine if all of this was for you?” Answer: I really truly couldn’t.) I was distracted by the impossibility of what it must be like to be Swift, to have all of this be for you , and still figure out a way to feel like a normal person. I was distracted by her ability to command an entire stadium—one she sold out three times over—with just her voice and a guitar. I was distracted by the parasocial relationship I knew all of us shared with Swift and the fact that, at the time, we all knew she had recently ended the most serious relationship of her life and was now, on stage in front of 70,000 people, singing love songs she had written about her ex. When she chose “Clean” (instead of “Cornelia Street”!) as the final surprise song at the final Met Life show—“Gone was any trace of you / I think I am finally clean”—her message, intentional or not, was received. Again, I was distracted by our collective knowing—and yet how we really didn’t know anything at all.

So I wasn’t entirely sure what I was in for when I walked into the IMAX theater on New York’s Upper West Side on Saturday night to see the Eras Tour concert film. By then, the movie (is it a movie?) had been out for two days, and the initial spoilers had been reported: the movie (we’ll go with it for simplicity) was about two hours and 45 minutes long, with costume changes and some of Swift’s banter cut for time. There were more devastating edits, too. Several songs off the setlist didn’t make it in : Lover ’s “The Archer,” e vermore ’s “‘tis the damn season” and “no body, no crime,” Speak Now ’s “Long Live,” folklore ’s “cardigan,” and 1989 ’s “Wildest Dreams.” (“Long Live” is the soundtrack to the ending credits but gone is the triumphant moment where Swift lines up with her bandmates across the stage to sing her fandom’s anthem.) Any interludes are gone, including Swift reciting part of her song “seven” as if it were a spoken word poem. And, I found out, due to the shots chosen for the movie, you never really get to see the additional light show created by the wristbands every fan wears.

Yet even walking up to the theater this past Saturday, I knew I was about to have a true Swiftie experience. On the sidewalk, I immediately spotted people in their best Swift garb—Eras Tour T-shirts; homemade, themed jackets; sparkly pants; folklore cardigans; reputation snakeskin; so many friendship bracelets. (For the record, it was cold and rainy out, so I wore a plaid shirt, a French braid, and a red lip. If you know you know.)

There was little preamble before the film began, and immediately I was thankful my co-worker had the forethought to buy these tickets, and by that, I mean to see the film in IMAX. The concert footage is stunning and, due to the 97-feet by 76-feet screen, you often feel like you’re on stage right next to Swift. You can see, in extreme detail, the way she replaces complex dance moves with expert face choreography, constantly testing the arch of each eyebrow, punctuating a moment by running her tongue over her teeth, mouthing extra commentary in between lyrics. As someone who didn’t even have that bad of seats for the Eras Tour, I had to admit: This was a much better view.

Our theater started out a bit timid, most people sitting, nodding their heads, mouthing along, testing out the durability of their seats during the bops. Then when Swift put up her hand heart during “Fearless,” everyone around me did too. We dutifully screamed the fan chant—“1, 2, 3, let’s go, bitch”—during “Delicate.” And by the time Swift started singing “Blank Space,” our pop star’s pull was too strong. Nearly everyone was on their feet, singing, dancing, taking videos of each other. Looking around, I was almost brought to tears witnessing something so wholesome, so communal, so celebratory.

But much like the concert itself, it was a little trippy. In a movie theater—with Swift nowhere remotely near us—we clapped as if she could hear us. When her dancers bowed, we yelped in appreciation, even though none of them were actually there to witness it. It felt rude not to! They were performing for us, weren’t they?

The concert, and therefore the movie, was also mind-bending in another way. In calling it the Eras Tour, I assumed we’d be experiencing all of Swift’s eras, the ones she’s demarcated with differing outfits and hairstyles and even accents. But that’s not the whole truth. In reliving her life, Swift has invited her most dedicated fans to relive their lives. Watching the concert, or a film of it, suddenly I’m 18 and in college again, going through my first giant, soul-crushing break up, questioning if maybe just maybe, Taylor Swift has written the song “All Too Well” just for me. Swift starts the folklore section, and I’m transported back to the day the album came out in July 2020, and my then-boyfriend (now-fiancé) and I packed up all our things, put most of them in a storage unit, and drove to Philadelphia, where we’d live for the next six months, the album on repeat in the car.

As Rob Sheffield wrote for Rolling Stone , the Eras Tour is “a journey through her past, starring all the different Taylors she’s ever been, which means all the Taylors that you’ve ever been.” He continues, “Taylor always designs every tour to be the best night of your life. But she designed this one to be the best night of all your lives.”

It’s a brave thing to revisit your former selves. Leaving the concert, my friend told me about being a teenager and living a real-life version of “You Belong With Me,” about the exact moment the song blasted across the field at her high school football game. Leaving the movie, my fiancé remarked to me that, up until now, it’s felt like we’ve been witnessing Swift’s coming-of-age. It’s why no matter the crowd—no matter if they’re sitting in a stadium or an IMAX theater—the feeling of watching everyone dance and sing and smile is the same; it’s the equivalent of everyone raising their hand and saying, “I’ve been there too.” As Taffy Brodesser-Akner wrote in a recent New York Times Magazine profile , Swift’s message is clear: Those past eras aren’t something to be ashamed of.

Take, for example, those two surprise songs Swift does at every show. For the film version of the concert, Swift had a handful of songs to choose from; the movie was shot over three nights in Los Angeles at SoFi Stadium, meaning there were six different songs that could’ve made it to the final cut. The ones Swift ultimately chose feel purposeful. She starts with “Our Song” from her debut album, a track she first wrote for her ninth grade talent show—a musical starting line. She then goes into “You’re on Your Own Kid” off her latest album Midnights , which details all that’s happened since: “From sprinkler splashes to fireplace ashes / I gave my blood, sweat, and tears for this.” “You’re on Your Own Kid” also features the lyric that inspired millions of fans to trade friendship bracelets at every stop along the tour. Of all her songs, it maybe most directly points to where she is now.

During the film’s credits, Swift includes extra footage of nearly every viral moment from the tour so far. There’s the moment her piano was drowning in rain water, the time her mic went out, when she meowed at a fan mid-song; there’s footage of several costume malfunctions. Even at her most powerful—and if there’s one takeaway I have from seeing the Eras Tour in high-definition, it’s that Swift is as powerful a performer as they come—she’s still in conversation with her fans, telling us, under no uncertain terms, that we’re all stumbling and flying through this era together. Sure, we might not really know her, but the point is that she gives us the chance to know ourselves a bit better, to help make sense of all our eras. At the very end of the show, Swift descends into the bowels of the stage, waving as she goes. She’ll see us at the next one.

From the moment it broke Ticketmaster, the world knew Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour would become the biggest of the year. Now, it’s on track to become the biggest pop music event of the next two years thanks to multiple international legs that wrap up back in North America next fall. Swift has not only been performing to sold out crowds in each stadium, but also to more thousands of ticketless fans hovering outside of venues or watching on social media from home. 

She’s not even close to halfway through the tour, but she has already gone above and beyond her fans’ expectations thanks to multiple surprises, major announcements and special guest appearances that have made the tour’s first leg across the United States a major success. In honor of that historic run — and in chronological order — here are the best moments of Swift’s Eras Tour so far. Baby, let the games begin.

We Find Out The Show Is 3 Hours Long

Along with the thousands of fans packed into Glendale’s State Farm Stadium for the first night of Eras Tour, there were even more watching the show from grainy Instagram and TikTok Lives. Swifties around the globe had no idea what to expect from the pop star’s new live show; she had released four albums of original music since her last tour in 2018, as well as re-recorded versions of two previous albums. Every night this summer, just to seal our fate, Taylor has made a celebration out of the “Cruel Summer” bridge. As she declares, just a few minutes into the show: “We have arrived at the very first bridge of the evening! Fans were absolutely convinced Swift didn’t like Evermore when she didn’t commemorate its one-year anniversary on social media. But Taylor is always listening, and she wasted no time debunking this rumor, addressing it on night one of the Eras tour in Glendale, Arizona. “We’re currently in the middle of the Evermore album,” she told the crowd after “Marjorie.” “Which is an album I absolutely love, despite what some of you say on TikTok.” How’s that for some closure? –A.M.

The Lengthy Ovations After ‘Champagne Problems’

It happens every night. Taylor sits alone at the piano for “Champagne Problems,” her first solo performance of the night—and it always brings out the beast in the crowd. It’s a moment where the audience literally stops the show to scream, for minutes on end, leaving poor Taylor with no way to move on. In L.A. last week the ovation kept going for 8 minutes. (Never change, L.A.—you are the Dorothea of cities.) Since she doesn’t do a standard encore break, this is the crowd’s chance to grab the mic and go full blast—an unorthodox but totally organic moment. Marcus Mumford Sings ‘Cowboy Like Me’ In Las Vegas

Taylor knew “Cowboy Like Me” was special the minute she wrote it — who else could get away with a line like “Some tent-like thing” and make it sound magical? She knew she was sitting on a 21st century “Desperado,” beloved by everyone from Maya Hawke to Maggie Rogers . The Western lullaby was recorded at Marcus Mumford’s Scarlet Pimpernel Studios, and he even provided backing vocals. So it was only right that he join her on the Evermore track’s live debut, early into the tour in Las Vegas on March 25. “Would you sing ‘Cowboy Like Me’ with me?” she asked. Taylor Replaces ‘Invisible String’ with ‘The 1’

In Swiftworld, few things happen without a reason, hidden or not. So when the fate-brought-us-together ballad “Invisible String” vanished from the Eras Tour setlist, replaced by the perfectly wistful masterpiece “The 1,” from the same album, it probably should’ve raised more eyebrows in the moment. The ‘And Take Her Home’ Note In ‘The 1’

Nobody, absolutely nobody, was complaining that “The 1” wasn’t heartbreaking enough. But for the live version, Taylor throws in The Note, for the kill. When Aaron Dessner from the National came out in Tampa to bless the Eras Tour stage for the first time, Swifties in the stands and watching on live streams at home knew they were all in for a devastating set of Dessner-produced tracks. From an acoustic version of “The Great War,” to the poignant piano ballad “Mad Woman,” Dessner and Swift shined together on these stripped down versions of beloved songs. But the real kicker was “Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve,” with Dessner jamming along on guitar and the entire Nissan Stadium screaming with Swift as she sang, “give me back my girlhood/ it was mine first!.” It was truly a moment for the history books. –M.G.

Taylor announces ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’ in Nashville

Nashville turned purple when Swift decided to announce the release of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) during her Eras tour stop in her hometown on May 5. In typical Swiftian fashion, the singer used a play on words to reveal the album would be in July in the midst of her performance. “I think rather than me speaking about it, I thought I would show you, so if you would direct your attention,” she told an audience of screaming fans , while directing their attention to Nissan Stadium’s screens which featured the album cover and its release date. But Swift wasn’t done: She surprised fans by launching into a performance of “Sparks Fly.” And, oh, did they fly. –I.K.

Nashville Also Gets The First Rain Show of The Eras Tour

There is arguably nothing more Swiftian than rain; it’s a signature element to her lyrics. Swift used to play “Should’ve Said No” in a makeshift downpour on stage, and her first headlining rain show at Gillette Stadium is a thing of Swiftie folklore (it apparently inspired the fan-ode “Long Live”). Everyone was eagerly refreshing their weather apps to see if they’d be the Eras Tour stop to witness Taylor come in with the rain. Nashville night 3 got especially lucky. After lightning delayed the start of the show for several hours, Swift weathered the storm along with her hometown crowd. She was so drenched she compared herself to a “river otter” — and still put on one hell of a show that didn’t end until nearly 2 a.m. –M.G.

Tour Opener Phoebe Bridgers Sings Vault Duet ‘Nothing New’

On the first night in Nashville , Swift invited Phoebe Bridgers (“one of my favorite artists”) to perform their Red (Taylor’s Version) collaboration “Nothing New,” and emotions were running high. They were clearly both psyched to be sharing the stage: right before the song’s prophetic bridge, Swift laughed and mouthed “oh my god” while Bridgers shook her head in disbelief at the fact she was singing with one of her idols. At that moment, more than a few concertgoers had their inner child healed. It was so powerful that Swift snuck their performance into the set during every tour stop that Boygenius opened. –M.G.

The ‘Karma’ Video Premiere During the First New York Show

Fans attending Swift’s three night stint at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey (which technically also counts as her New York tour dates, for surprise-song purposes) knew they were in for some unexpected highlights even before the first show kicked off. Leading up to that night, Swift announced the release of Midnights (Til Dawn) , an expanded version of her 2022 album that included a remix of “Karma,” featuring buzzy new rapper Ice Spice. In the middle of the show, Swift did more than shout out the new release: she decided to debut the “Karma” video in the middle of her set. Swift and her dancers sat on the stage to watch the video, which premiered on YouTube soon after. –B.S.

Jack Antonoff Appears For A Surprise ‘Getaway Car’

After Aaron Dessner made appearances earlier in the tour to perform with Swift during her surprise song sets, it was only a matter of time before Jack Antonoff did the same. Fittingly, it occurred on the first night of her New York shows, which were in Antonoff’s home state of New Jersey. Even better, his appearance ticked “Getaway Car” off the surprise song list, with Antonoff playing guitar on the Reputation cut and fan favorite. –B.S.

A “Karma” video premiere wasn’t enough for Swift as she celebrated Midnights (Til Dawn) over the course of her weekend in New York. She added an extra dose of excitement to show closer “Karma” when she invited Ice Spice out to perform the remix with her three nights in a row. The pair were a match made in pop heaven on stage together, with the 23-year-old rapper commanding the crowd perfectly next to the headliner. Even though he is one of Swift’s better exes, Lautner’s inserting himself into the Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) conversation on social media (remember #prayingforjohn?) wasn’t a perfectly smooth process. But that didn’t stop Swift from bringing him out in Kansas City for a very cool and very full circle moment punctuated by a cartwheel that would have turned a less-athletic person’s bones to dust. Lautner told The Today Show that the cartwheel wasn’t planned, making it all that more impressive. Despite the seeming spontaneity of his on-stage acrobatics, the move did have some resemblance to the flip Lautner did in the 2010 flick Valentine’s Day , in which he co-starred with Swift. A reach? ‘I Can See You’ Video Premiere In Kansas City

During her tour stop in Kansas City on July 7 — the release date of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) — Swift surprised fans by premiering the heist-themed music video for “I Can See You,” which featured Taylor Lautner, Joey King and Presley Cash trying to steal her third album. It was one of the meta reunions for the “I Can See You” stars — King and Cash co-starred in the music video for “Mean,” while “Back to December” was allegedly about Swift’s breakup with Lautner. Of course, fans went wild when Swift sang Lautner’s praises to the Kansas City audience: “He was a very positive force in my life when I was making the ‘Speak Now’ album, and I want to say he did every single stunt that you saw in that music video. ‘Long Live’ Is Added To The Setlist

The Eras Tour is as grandiose and impactful as any victory lap we’ve seen an artist put on in recent memory. The tour pulls on the nostalgia heartstrings — yes, there’s a percentage of fans who who tapped in when Folklore dropped, but there’s a great many more diehards who’ve been through middle school, high school, and college with Ms. Swift. That’s why hearing the “tell them how the crowds went wild/tell them how I hope they shine” in “Long Live” hits so hard. Even cooler: Swift is using the koi fish guitar from the Speak Now era . It’s funny to think about Swift writing such an anthemic ode to her career…in 2010. If only she knew there were thousands of sold out shows, a handful of Grammys, and hundreds of broken records to come. “Tell ’em how the crowds went wild” — they still are. –W.A.

‘Last Kiss,’ July 8th

When “Last Kiss” finally had its moment as a surprise song on July 8, you could hear the cries of Speak Now girlies heard round the world. Officially named “the saddest song [she’s] ever written” by Ms. Fountain Pen herself, Swift performed the somber track on her famous koi fish guitar and was so excited she forgot the lyrics and had to start over several times. Swift finally sang “that July 9th/The beat of your heart” with a small smirk because it was, in fact, July 8th that night — a sweet nod to the heart-wrenching moment in the song. –M.G.

On July 22, Swift’s murder ballad “No Body, No Crime” got its shining moment in Seattle when the singer brought out Haim to perform on their collaboration. Swift unveiled 1989 (Taylor’s Version) in the most Taylor way possible, wearing blue versions of each Eras costume, a nod to the adopted color for 1989 . Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” concert film premiered in October to an enthusiastic crowd of celebrities, fans and of course Taylor’s team, with the star of the film in attendance. As one of the first to see the film, TheWrap got the scoop on which songs from the wildly popular tour made the film, and which songs were cut.

After making speeches in multiple auditoriums for separate audiences, Swift, clad in a sky blue floral-patterned dress (probably in theme for “1989 (Taylor’s Version) with her hair pinned up like the signature bob she had when that album first came out), sat back to enjoy the film’s premiere in one of the IMAX screening rooms with her background vocalists and publicist Tree Paine.

The documentary runs 2 hours and 48 minutes, slightly shorter than Swift’s three-hour setlist and performance, which she has brought to 17 of the United States so far in addition to Mexico. The European leg will kick off in November, with Swift returning for 15 more U.S. shows in October and November of 2024. There are some key differences between Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) on Disney+ and the concert movie's theatrical release.

• Taylor Swift's Eras Tour (Taylor's Version) on Disney+ includes four previously cut songs, filling out the concert setlist in the correct order.
• Because of the inclusion of previously cut songs and bonus acoustic songs on The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version), the theatrical and streaming versions of the Eras Tour movie differ in runtime.
• The Eras Tour movie now features a song released after the tour began thanks to the inclusion of the Speak Now (Taylor's Version) vault track "I Can See You" as a bonus acoustic song on the Disney+ release.

8 Four Songs Cut From The Theatrical Version Are Included In The Eras Tour Movie On Disney+

The eras tour (taylor's version) shows (almost) the entire concert.

The biggest difference between The Eras Tour movie on streaming versus in theaters is the inclusion of four previously cut songs in Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version) on Disney+. When it was released in theaters, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour movie did not include every song from the concert's regular set list in order to shorten the runtime. When it was made available to rent on demand on December 13, 2023 (Swift's 34th birthday), the VOD release included the previously cut songs "The Archer," "Long Live" and "Wildest Dreams" at the end of the movie as bonus content.

In addition to these three songs, The Eras Tour movie also re-added "cardigan" on Disney+ . Unlike the VOD version, these four songs have now been edited into their respective eras in their proper placements on the set list in the streaming version. Now that "The Archer," "Long Live," "cardigan," and "Wildest Dreams" are finally featured in The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version) , almost the entire concert is shown in the correct order on Disney+. The only two songs still missing from The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version) are "no body, no crime" and "Seven (Interlude)."

Of the four previously cut songs that were finally included in The Eras Tour movie on Disney+, three serve as the final songs of their respective eras on The Eras Tour set list. At the live shows, "The Archer" closes out the Lover era and "cardigan" closes out the folklore era. Although the Speak Now era previously consisted of just "Enchanted," after Speak Now (Taylor's Version) was released on July 7, 2023, "Long Live" was added to the set list as the second and, thus, last song in the Speak Now era.

Swift performs "Wildest Dreams" between "Shake It Off" and "Bad Blood" during the 1989 era at the live shows, so its omission from the theatrical version of The Eras Tour movie wasn't as jarring.

Although Swift's live performance of "Long Live" was cut from the theatrical release of The Eras Tour movie, the studio version of "Long Live (Taylor's Version)" played over the end credits. This is still the case in the streaming version, but Swift's live performance of "Long Live" also appears in the Speak Now era after "Enchanted," just like in the live shows. As a result, "Long Live" plays twice during The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version) in both live and studio-recorded formats. This is the only instance in which two different versions of the same song play in the streaming version.

At every show on The Eras Tour, Swift does an acoustic set in between the folklore era and the final Midnights era . During this set, she performs two surprise songs from her vast catalogue of music: one on piano and one on acoustic guitar.

Because Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour movie was filmed during her first three stops at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, Swift had six surprise songs to choose from for the acoustic set in The Eras Tour movie. She went with her performances of "Our Song" and "You're Own Your Own, Kid," which left four songs that she later included as bonus acoustic songs in The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version) on Disney+. "I Can See You," "Death by a Thousand Cuts," "You Are In Love," and "Maroon" appear at the end of the streaming version as part of "The Acoustic Collection."

Why Taylor Swift Almost Completely Ignores Her Debut Album On The Eras Tour (Despite The Title)

On The Eras Tour, Swift's live shows are roughly 3 hours and 15 minutes long. However, because of all the songs cut from the concert movie in theaters, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour 's runtime was only 2 hours and 45 minutes. With the addition of "The Archer," "Long Live" and "Wildest Dreams," the VOD release's runtime rounded out to approximately 3 hours.

The Eras Tour movie has a runtime of 3 hours and 30 minutes on Disney+, 45 minutes longer than the theatrical release and 15 minutes longer than the live concert (thanks to "The Acoustic Collection").

Now, between the four previously cut songs added back to the set list, the four bonus acoustic songs, and the original surprise songs from the acoustic set playing again in the "Acoustic Collection," The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version) has a very long runtime. The Eras Tour movie has a runtime of 3 hours and 30 minutes on Disney+ , a whole 45 minutes longer than the theatrical release and 15 minutes longer than the live concert (thanks to "The Acoustic Collection"). However, pausing and fast-forwarding make this runtime much more manageable on streaming than at a live show or in theaters.

2 The Eras Tour Movie On Disney+ Includes A Song Released After The Eras Tour Began

"i can see you" was released as a vault track on speak now (taylor's version).

Since embarking on The Eras Tour in March 2023, Swift has released two more re-recorded albums. The first was Speak Now (Taylor's Version), released on July 7 before filming for The Eras Tour movie took place in August 2023. The second was 1989 (Taylor's Version) on October 27, 2023, just two weeks after the premiere of The Eras Tour movie in theaters on October 13. These two albums combined contain a total of 11 previously unreleased songs "from the vault."

Although none of the Speak Now (Taylor's Version) vault tracks made it into The Eras Tour's regular set list, "Long Live" was added to the Speak Now era in the show as a celebration of the re-recorded album's release.

"I Can See You (Taylor's Version) [From The Vault]" was included as a bonus acoustic song in the streaming version.

Of course, Swift couldn't have performed any 1989 (Taylor's Version) vault tracks as surprise songs while filming The Eras Tour movie in August 2023, since the album hadn't come out yet. However, Swift did perform one vault track from Speak Now (Taylor's Version) , "I Can See You," while filming The Eras Tour movie, but it wasn't selected as one of the two surprise songs for the acoustic set in The Eras Tour movie. Instead, these were "Our Song" from her debut self-titled album and "You're Own Your Own, Kid" from Midnights, both of which were released before the tour began.

However, "I Can See You (Taylor's Version) [From The Vault]" was included as a bonus acoustic song in the streaming version. As a result, The Eras Tour movie on Disney+ now contains a song released after The Eras Tour began. "I Can See You" is also the only vault track in The Eras Tour movie other than " All Too Well (10 Minute Version) " from Red (Taylor's Version) , which was released on November 12, 2021, and closes out the Red era on The Eras Tour set list.

I am a die-hard Swiftie . Over the past decade of my life, I've analyzed her endless Easter eggs, had Taylor top my Spotify Wrapped for years, and you better believe I checked out the Eras Tour this summer. The concert was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I made and traded friendship bracelets with fellow Swifties and sang every word to every song while I was at the show. I even went to the Eras Tour concert film and relived every second of the extravaganza. 

Swift's highly anticipated concert flick premiered in theaters earlier this fall, and it smashed records. CNBC  reported  that it's the highest-grossing domestic concert film ever, bringing in between $95 million and $97 million. Recently, Swift announced that the Eras Tour will be coming to living rooms, as the film has been released for rent on several on-demand services. 

If you got snubbed in that Ticketmaster debacle , or if you just want to relive the magic that was the Eras Tour, I've got you covered with all the important information you'll want to know before attending from the comfort of your own home.

What is the Eras Tour? 

Swift's stadium tour swept through more than a dozen US cities plus Mexico City this summer. The Eras Tour is a love letter to her impressive musical career and the fans who have seen her through it. The numbers indicate the tour draws massive public appeal. The tour is projected to gross $1 billion , including Swift's overseas tour next spring.

That billion dollars is, by all accounts, a fantastic measure of Swift's power, but it doesn't even account for the thousands of fans who attended her concerts from parking lots and bridges outside of the concert venues this year. Already, Swift's journey around the US has proved an economic boon to host cities. 

So, what is the Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film?

Filmed over her Los Angeles dates at the SoFi stadium, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour is a two-hour, 45-minute chronicle of her hit tour. For fans who are familiar with the tour, this raises some questions as to what has been cut from the film. The concert I attended ran for about 3 hours, but by the end of the tour, it was about three and a half hours long. Curious fans finally have their answers. 

The film had its premiere on Oct. 11, and we finally know what's been cut. Be warned, I'm going to get into some major spoilers for the concert film, so if you want to be surprised while you watch, just skip this section. 

It looks like Swift has nixed five songs from the setlist she performed the nights she recorded the film. Entertainment Weekly reports that the songs No Body, No Crime; Long Live; Wildest Dreams; The Archer and Cardigan were all cut from the concert film. Fans of Long Live do have some recompense; it plays over tour bloopers and videos of fans during the credits. 

Of the six surprise songs she recorded (Swift performs these during the rotating acoustic portion of the show), the songs Our Song and You're On Your Own, Kid ended up making the final cut. Fans can also expect to see shortened costume changes and transitions between Swift's different eras in the film. 

How long is Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film in theaters? 

Swift's concert film hit theaters worldwide on Oct. 13. According to Insider, the film had to be shown in theaters for four weeks following its release. Insider said Swift circumvented Hollywood studios and negotiated the film's distribution directly with AMC, allowing her to have more control. Time has reported that Swift's concert film has brought home an impressive $248.9 million at the box office, cementing itself as the highest-grossing concert film at the US box office. Given this accomplishment, it's safe to say the concert film will be hanging around theaters for a while. 

How can I get Swift movie tickets? 

You can buy tickets to the concert film where you would ordinarily buy tickets to most movies, either online or at an in-person box office. 

Swift's website has links to sites where you can buy tickets through AMC, Regal, Cinemark and Fandango. You could check your local indie theater's website too, to see whether it's showing the concert film. 

Fan reaction to ticket sales was swift (pardon the pun). Wanda Gierhart Fearing,  Cinemark 's chief marketing and content officer, told me that the company saw "frenzied traffic to [its] website and app the moment tickets went on sale" and that "we are ready for Swifties to be enchanted by this concert film in the unprecedented number of auditoriums we have booked to meet demand."

How much do tickets cost?

Adult tickets go for $19.89, which is a nod to the year of Swift's birth and the title of her fifth studio album, 1989. Fans also know that the album 1989 is about to get the Taylor's Version treatment, with the artist's rerecording of the album dropping 14 days after the film hits theaters. Seniors and children's tickets go for $13.13, a nod to Swift's lucky number. 

Right now, it's unclear whether subscribers to paid theater subscriptions like Regal Unlimited will be able to use the deals available to them on tickets for this film, given the special pricing. In a FAQ on AMC's website, the company said that this film is excluded from the company's A-List program's reservation feature. 

Cinemark confirmed to CNET that members of the Cinemark Movie Club can apply all standard benefits of the membership. 

Can I treat this like a normal concert? 

While a concert film can be exciting and almost feel like a real concert, it's best practice to be respectful of other theatergoers both in your showing and in other showings at the theater. 

This doesn't mean you can't keep up with other Eras Tour practices, like wearing a fun costume based on Swift's songs and lyrics or making and trading friendship bracelets with other Swifties. You could even quietly sing along and dance in your seat, as long as you're considerate of viewers around you and don't interrupt others' viewing experience. 

If you're attending the film at an AMC theater, then you're in luck. The company has provided you with guidelines for how to behave during the film -- and it all boils down to being respectful of those around you. 

I saw the concert film at an indie theater, and in my experience, people were pretty quiet during the film. There was no singing loud enough for me to detect, and the only people who danced in my theater were several smaller children. Based on my experience, I recommend going in with the expectation of watching this film just like you would any other movie. 

If you just have to sing and dance along to all of your favorite Taylor Swift hits (which I totally understand the urge to do) you do have some options. In a press release distributed to CNET, Cinemark announced Private Swiftie Parties -- an extension of its Private Watch Parties offering -- that allow fans to reserve an entire auditorium for singing and dancing. In the release, Fearing said "our larger-than-life screens and captivating surround sound deliver a most enchanting environment to sing and dance along with friends and family to the concert of the decade." Right now, these Private Swiftie Parties are on sale on Cinemark's website and app. The watch parties are available at participating locations for $800 and can accommodate up to 40 fans. 

How can I watch the concert film at home? 

This week, Swift announced that the Eras Tour concert film, extended version, will be available to rent on Dec. 13 (none other than the singer's birthday) on Apple TV, Vudu, Prime Video, Xfinity, Google Play and YouTube. Fans can expect some extra content from the extended version, with previously cut songs Wildest Dreams, The Archer and Long Live being added back in. Renting the concert film will set you back $19.89, and you'll be able to stream the film for 48 hours. 

There's not an exact date on when we can expect the concert film on streaming services, although TV Line reports that Swift can't put her concert film on streaming platforms for 13 weeks after the film comes out. Jan. 12, 2024, would be the earliest possible date the film could wind up on a streaming service. 

As a seasoned Swiftie, my recommendation is to keep a close eye on any hints Swift might give over the next few months for a streaming release date. Her well-known Easter eggs have given fans clues to album release dates and music video drops, so it's possible she'll use one to reveal the film's streaming debut.

Paramore  will play alongside Swift after mounting a massive 2023 tour of their own. The group, fronted by lead singer Hayley Williams, reunited in 2022 after a five-year hiatus. For fans that want to check out their latest, you can listen to “This Is Why,” their sixth studio album, which dropped in February 2023.

Gracie Abrams , the daughter of film director JJ Abrams and producer Katie McGrath, is a star in her own right. Her song “I miss you, I’m sorry” has upwards of 100 million streams on Spotify, she opened for Olivia Rodrigo on the 2022 “Sour Tour” and headlined her own tour last spring as well.

Taylor Swift shares big video hint the ‘Eras Tour' may be changing

Taylor Swift is taking fans behind the scenes of her “Eras Tour” with a series of clips, and Swifties now suspect there’s a hint as to changes coming to the world-renowned show.

Days after releasing her newest album,  “The Tortured Poets Department,”  Swift posted another YouTube Short video with her hit single “Fortnight,” featuring Post Malone,” playing over videos of her and her dancers rehearsing for the tour. But there’s one moment in the montage that has fans doing what they do best: speculating.

Fans will recognize many of the scenes being practiced, such as Swift's iconic entrance from the ground, her performance of "Lavender Haze" in a coat surrounded by clouds, playing "Champagne Problems" seated at a moss-covered piano and more. But one clip, in which Swift stands in the middle of a stage with her dancers lined up behind her wearing top hats and holding canes, did not appear in the original "Eras Tour."

“Since when do background dancers have a top hat and canes?!” one fan with the username armaisacat.1989  captioned a TikTok  of the scene, adding “Taylor Swift you have some explaining to do!!”

The “Eras Tour” is a three-hour, 15-minute concert in which Swift performs songs from all of her albums since her 2006 self-titled debut record. Many — including the TODAY.com staff — have speculated whether or not the pop star would integrate “Tortured Poets Department” as another era in the show.

All will be (hopefully) be revealed when the tour begins again in Paris on May 9.

In that compilation, her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce, makes appearances with the star. The videos are in collaboration with YouTube, encouraging users to post their own “14 snippets” of their lives set to the same song.

Vinyl industry rep says pandemic-era manufacturing bottlenecks have eased

"The Tortured Poets Department" is set to be released in special-edition "ghost"-colored vinyl, available both directly through Swift's website and exclusively at Target.

During the pandemic, that might have alarmed vinyl record buyers. As vinyl plants shuttered and employees were sidelined, vinyl production ground to a halt, causing reports of weekslong backlogs and orders going unfulfilled outright.

But in an interview with NBC News on Friday, Dustin Blocker, president of the Vinyl Records Manufacturing Association, said those issues have been resolved and that suppliers now have more than enough capacity to handle any orders coming their way, including massive ones like Swift's.

"In Q3 2023, we saw the [production] timeline start to go back to normal," Blocker said. "And in Q4 it really got back to normal. Now, everyone, including the huge plants, takes only 8-12 weeks [to produce] ... so it's very good news for everyone."

Blocker said any price increases on the supply side sparked by the bottlenecks have essentially reversed.

So, the $40 price tag on the Target edition of "TTPD" is most likely the result of choices made by Swift, her label and the retailer, he said.

Taylor Swift has taken over radio stations, from Channel 13 on SiriusXM to iHeartRadio briefly renaming itself to iHeartTaylor and sharing messages from the songwriter.

Swift revealed in a soundbite played on iHeartRadio that “Florida!!!” — the eighth track of the album and featuring Florence + the Machine — was inspired by “Dateline.”

“I’m always watching, like ‘Dateline,’” Swift said with a laugh. “People, you know, have these crimes that they commit where they immediately skip town and go to Florida. They try to reinvent themselves, have a new identity, blend in.”

It’s the same with heartbreak, she said.

“I think when you go through a heartbreak, there’s a part of you that thinks, ‘I want a new name. I want a new life,’” she said.

The standard edition of "The Tortured Poets Department" is said to have been leaked ahead the album's release. The origin of the apparent leaks is unclear, but none of the songs on the extended "anthology" version of the album seem to have been compromised.

Leaks of major artists' work sometimes occur when physical copies of the album arrive prematurely at record stores or department stores, before the tracks are released on streaming platforms. Fans suspect the surprise drop of the double album was a factor in the 15 extra tracks avoiding leaks.

The extra content was so unexpected that the lyrics of the anthology version have yet to be uploaded to Spotify .

As Swifties show their love for "The Tortured Poets Department" on TikTok, they have the chance to be featured in a "Fan Spotlight" carousel that highlights videos with the #TORTUREDPOETSDEPARTMENT hashtag.

TikTok released a "Taylor Swift In-App Experience" that serves as a landing page for all things "TTPD." Fans can complete challenges in exchange for limited-edition "TTPD" profile frames and some Taylor-related searches unlock animations inspired by the album. Searches for "Taylor Swift," "Taylor Nation," and "The Tortured Poets Department" lead fans to the landing page.

The features are particularly notable because Swift's music was pulled off the platform earlier this year as part of a disput between TikTok and Universal Music Group, though many of her tracks returned earlier this month .

Fans on TikTok have already been loving "TTPD," sharing numerous theories , tears and rankings .

Aaron Dessner, a musician who is part of the rock band The National, posted to Instagram about working with Swift on the album along with a pic of her in a studio.

He said that he has now worked with swift on more than 60 songs, including 17 across her newest release.

Couples are now wary of Swift's 'Lover' as a love song

“Lover” — at least until recently — was widely received as one of Swift’s classic love songs. When the album of the same name came out in 2019, its title single was declared  first dance song material , or even a “ wedding waltz .”

In the song, Swift paints a portrait of quiet intimacy. Her wild “Red” days, of thrilling romances with highs and lows and uncertainties in between, had settled into something steadier with one person, captured by a simple chorus: “You’re my, my, my, my lover.”

But that interpretation is now in question, as Swift recasts some of her songs in a different light. Ahead of the release of “The Tortured Poets Department,”  she released five playlists on Apple Music , sorting old songs into groups inspired by the five stages of grief, or “heartbreak.”

Aaron Dessner is credited as a songwriter on five of 16 tracks

Dessner, who is a member of the bands The National and Big Red Machine, is one of two producers who worked on "The Tortured Poets Department."

He's credited as a songwriter on five of the 16 tracks on the standard album.

On the eve of Swift’s album drop, event venues across the country (and around the world) hosted release parties so Swifties could get their first listen of the “The Tortured Poets Department” on the dance floor.

At Pianos in New York, music from across Swift’s discography will play until the new album drops at midnight. Attendees are encouraged to come in themed outfits and friendship bracelets, and the bar will be serving Swift-inspired cocktails.

In Los Angeles, El Cid is hosting a listening party complete with fan-made merch, giveaways and a themed wall for photos. Attendees can also expect performances from drag queen Jade Jolie, who appeared in Swift’s “You Need to Calm Down” music video.

Several Swiftie-themed events are also being held across the Washington, D.C., area, according to The Washington Post, which compiled a list .

A Swiftie mom and daughter are hosting their own album party

Kristie Gilmore, 36, is ready to celebrate with her daughter, who was born shortly after Swift's “1989” album and has been a Swiftie ever since.

Gilmore decorated her Boston-area apartment with balloons, signs and stickers in the color palette of “The Tortured Poets Department.” She sprinkled the table with handmade confetti of the album’s logo and made TTPD-themed “membership cards” for themselves and each of her daughter’s friends.

Swift's music is back on TikTok despite UMG dispute

Some songs that Swift fans know “All Too Well” returned to TikTok this month, months after they were removed.

The songs were among the many tracks Universal Music Group pulled off TikTok after the label and the platform  failed to reach an agreement  this year. (UMG has no relationship to NBCUniversal, the parent company of NBC News.)

UMG, known as one of the “Big Three” global music companies, cleared its music from TikTok in late January, saying it was doing so because of a lack of compensation for artists and songwriters. TikTok previously fired back at UMG, accusing the company of putting “their own greed above the interests of artists and songwriters.”

Die-hard Taylor Swift fans will be spending a pretty penny on her latest album release as she releases four variants of the album with one exclusive track each.

But his back-to-back appearances on arguably two of the biggest albums from pop artists this year raise the questions: Is Post Malone becoming a pop girlie? Is he just having a moment? Many Swifties are sharing their elaborate party setups online as they prepare to celebrate the album release at home.

Karen Rothdeutsch, 25, has decked out her bedroom in upstate New York with “The Tortured Poets Department”-themed decorations, complete with a platter of homemade cupcakes decorated to match Swift’s various vinyl variants.

“I just made my space a little more immersive for my first listen,” Rothdeutsch told NBC News. “I’ll be sitting in my bed with a box of tissues and a notebook, writing down my thoughts and probably checking into Twitter every so often to see what everybody’s thinking about it.”

She said she procured the decorations over the course of several weeks, but the whole setup cost her less than $100. While she decorates on a budget, she said she did splash out on the vinyl variants and collector’s edition CDs.

The white gown Swift wore to the 2024 Grammys, where she announced "The Tortured Poets Department," appears to have been an Easter egg.

Swift appears to be wearing a very similar dress in the teaser for the "Fortnight (feat. Post Malone)" music video, which will debut 8 p.m. ET tomorrow.

In case you need something to do as you count down to the new album, “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” is on Disney+. Swift announced the film would be available for streaming in February.

The film features all songs from the three Los Angeles tour dates during which it was filmed at SoFi Stadium. They include “cardigan,” as well as four additional acoustic surprise songs from the tour: “I Can See You,” “Maroon,” “You Are in Love” and “Death by a Thousand Cuts.”

Swifties online are freaking out over purported ‘leaks’

The internet was at it again this week, with some online circulating what they said were leaks of Swift's new album. It is unclear from where and when the apparent leaks originated, but one Reddit thread is already filled with commentary.

As early as Tuesday, "taylor swift leak" appeared to be blocked from searches on X. Instead, when a user tried to search the phrase, a blank page popped up with the message, "Something went wrong. Try reloading."

The secret message has been decoded

The sixth and final word of the secret message, “mortem,” was revealed today, hidden in the lyrics of the song “Begin Again.”

The complete secret message is: “We hereby conduct this post mortem.”

In a collaboration with Apple Music, Swift sorted some of her existing songs into thematic playlists , along with audio messages from her.

The messages seemed to confirm some fans’ theories that the playlists mirrored the five stages of grief — denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance — indicating that the new album may grapple with grief or loss. Swift later used a song from each playlist to reveal a hidden word on Apple Music every day leading up to the release of “The Tortured Poets Department.”

Swift sets fans loose on an international puzzle

Swifties had a big day yesterday after murals with QR codes were unveiled in cities around the world, including Mexico City, Paris and Chicago.

Fans stumbled upon the murals, which Swift had not announced, and scanned them to find a link to a YouTube Shorts video. Every mural had a unique code that led to a different video, each revealing a new letter as part of a word puzzle.

Fans came together online to help decode the puzzle, which seemed to hint at the new album's first track, because it spelled out "for a fortnight."

Swifties in Los Angeles flock to Spotify pop-up library

Many Los Angeles Swifties celebrated the new album with a pop-up library installation in partnership with Spotify.

The three-day event, which runs through today at The Grove, featured a sneak peek at some of the album's lyrics.

Fans posted videos of themselves lined up for hours to get a glimpse at the installation.

A manuscript was front and center at the installation, revealing new lyrics periodically as the pages were turned over the course of three days.

Many fans online tried to identify other potential Easter eggs in the pop-up library, such as a bust of a peace sign, quill and fountain pens and a globe that appeared to be pointing to Florida, the name of a track on the album.

Fans were quick to note that “The Tortured Poets Department” is the longest title for a Taylor Swift album by a large margin, a distinction previously held by her third album, "Speak Now." Before "TTPD," "Speak Now" was her only album title consisting of more than one word.

Speculation surrounding the new album and its uncharacteristic title has primarily revolved around Swift’s  2023 breakup  with British actor Joe Alwyn after their six-year relationship.

After the album announcement, a  2022 Variety interview  between Alwyn and Paul Mescal resurfaced on X. The pair revealed in the interview that they were both members of a WhatsApp group chat titled the Tortured Man Club, prompting some fans to  draw parallels  between Alwyn and Swift’s upcoming album.

The true meaning of “The Tortured Poets Department” remains to be seen, but the album's rollout has featured references to famous poems like Charles Baudelaire’s “The Albatross,” among other literary references.

Clues keep coming

Speculation continues to grow over clues for lyrics, song titles and the album’s first music video.

Not much from Miss Swift so far

It's been a notably quiet rollout for "The Tortured Poets Department."

No themed Instagram grid overhaul, no lead singles, not even a cryptic calendar leading Swifties on wild goose chases for potential Easter eggs.

A week before the release, Taylor Swift was rocking out at Coachella instead of feeding her fans who are desperate for a hint of what's to come.

Aside from a hand-painted QR code on the side of a building in Chicago, a planned exhibit at The Grove in Los Angeles in partnership with Spotify and a quick video released Tuesday that appears to leave the "Midnights" era in the dust as viewers tour The Tortured Poets Department, Swift has been silent on what we can expect.

In the video , posted to her Instagram account, we did get a glimpse of a schedule that only showed release day, and on it, the promise of a music video on Friday at 8 p.m. ET. Fourteen tick marks beneath led some to think the music video could be for the 14th track on the album, or for the leading song, "Fortnight," since a fortnight is 14 days.

Swifties believing in the latter theory proved to be correct. Swift announced that the music video would be for "Fortnight" in a Thursday afternoon social media post.

Swifties online continue to grasp for any details to try to figure out what this mastermind might have in store for her beloved fan base.

When does 'The Tortured Poets Department' drop?

Swift's 11th studio album, "The Tortured Poets Department," will be released Friday at 12 a.m. ET, or 9 p.m. PT.

It will be available for purchase on vinyl, on cassette, as a digital album and in CD form. It will also be on several streaming services, including Spotify and Apple Music.

But if you plan to stream “The Tortured Poets Department” right after its release, be prepared for potential delays. When Swift’s most recent brand-new album, “Midnights,” was released, Spotify  briefly crashed  because of intense demand.

"Status symbol" pets are being given up by owners who get scared as they grow up, an animal charity has said, with the cost of living possibly paying a part in a rise in separations.

The Exotic Pet Refuge, which homes parrots, monkeys, snakes and alligators among others, says it receives referrals across the country, including from zoos and the RSPCA.

"They're a status symbol. People will say, 'OK, I'll have an alligator or a 10ft boa constrictor'," co-owner Pam Mansfield told the BBC.

"But when the animal gets big, they will get too frightened to handle them, and then the pet has to go."

She added people who want to get rid of the pets sometimes call zoos for help, which then call on her charity.

In some cases, owners don't have licences to own dangerous animals, she says, blaming a "lack of understanding" for what she says is a rise in the number of exotic animals needing to be rehomed.

She says people "just don't have the space" for some snakes, for example, with some growing to as much as 12ft and needing their own room.

The cost of living crisis has also forced owners to give their pets away, she says.

Her charity has also been affected by those increased costs, with the electricity bill rising to £10,000 a month at their highest, to fund things like heated pools for alligators.

Private car parks are accused of "confusing drivers" after introducing a new code of conduct - despite "doing all they can" to prevent an official government version.

The code of practice launched by two industry bodies - British Parking Association and the International Parking Community - includes a ten-minute grace period for motorists to leave a car park after the parking period they paid for ends.

It also features requirements for consistent signage, a single set of rules for operators on private land and an "appeals charter".

Private parking businesses have been accused of using misleading and confusing signs, aggressive debt collection and unreasonable fees.

That comes after a government-backed code of conduct was withdrawn in June 2022, after a legal challenges by parking companies.

RAC head of policy Simon Williams said: "We're flabbergasted that the BPA and the IPC have suddenly announced plans to introduce their own private parking code after doing all they can over the last five years to prevent the official government code created by an act of Parliament coming into force.

"While there are clearly some positive elements to what the private parking industry is proposing, it conveniently avoids some of the biggest issues around caps on penalty charges and debt recovery fees which badly need to be addressed to prevent drivers being taken advantage of."

BPA chief executive Andrew Pester said: "This is a crucial milestone as we work closely with government, consumer bodies and others to deliver fairer and more consistent parking standards for motorists."

IPC chief executive Will Hurley said: "The single code will benefit all compliant motorists and will present clear consequences for those who decide to break the rules."

Sky News has learnt the owner of Superdry's flagship store is weighing up a legal challenge to a rescue plan launched by the struggling fashion retailer.

M&G, the London-listed asset manager, has engaged lawyers from Hogan Lovells to scrutinise the restructuring plan.

The move by M&G, which owns the fashion retailer's 32,000 square foot Oxford Street store, will not necessarily result in a formal legal challenge - but sources say it's possible.

NatWest says its mortgage lending nearly halved at the start of the year as it retreated from parts of the market when competition among lenders stepped up.

New mortgage lending totalled £5.2bn in the first three months of 2024, the banking group has revealed, down from £9.9bn the previous year.

The group, which includes Royal Bank of Scotland and Coutts, also reported an operating pre-tax profit of £1.3bn for the first quarter, down 27% from £1.8bn the previous year.

An unexplained flow of British luxury cars into states neighbouring Russia continued into February, new data shows.

About £26m worth of British cars were exported to Azerbaijan, making the former Soviet country the 17th biggest destination for UK cars - bigger than long-established export markets such as Ireland, Portugal and Qatar.

Azerbaijan's ascent has coincided almost to the month with the imposition of sanctions on the export of cars to Russia.

Rishi Sunak has hailed the arrival of pay day with a reminder his government's additional National Insurance tax cut kicks in this month for the first time.

At last month's budget, the chancellor announced NI will be cut by a further 2p - so some workers will pay 8% of their earnings instead of the 12% if was before autumn.

The prime minister has repeated his claim this will be worth £900 for someone on the average UK salary.

While this additional cut - on top of the previous 2p cut in January - does equate to £900 for those on average full-time earnings of £35,000, there are two key issues with Mr Sunak's claim:

• Once the effect of all income tax changes since 2021 are taken into account, the Institute for Fiscal Studies reports an average earner will benefit from a tax cut of £340 - far less than £900;
• Moreover, anyone earning less than £26,000 or between £55,000-£131,000 will ultimately be worse off.

In short, this is because NI cuts are more than offset by other tax rises.

We explain below how this is the case...

Tax thresholds

This is partly down to tax thresholds - the amount you are allowed to earn before you start paying tax (and national insurance) and before you start paying the higher rate of tax - will remain frozen. 

This means people end up paying more tax than they otherwise would, when their pay rises with inflation but the thresholds don't keep up. 

This phenomenon is known as "fiscal drag" and it's often called a stealth tax because it's not as noticeable immediately in your pay packet.

That low threshold of £12,570 has been in place since April 2021. 

The Office for Budget Responsibility says if it had increased with inflation it would be set at £15,220 for 2024/25.

If that were the case, workers could earn an extra £2,650 tax-free each year.

Less give, more take

Sky News analysis shows someone on £16,000 a year will pay £607 more in total - equivalent to more than three months of average household spending on food. 

Their income level means national insurance savings are limited but they are paying 20% in income tax on an additional £2,650 of earnings.

In its analysis , the IFS states: "In aggregate the NICs cuts just serve to give back a portion of the money that is being taken away through other income tax and NICs changes - in particular, multi-year freezes to tax thresholds at a time of high inflation."

Overall, according to the institute, for every £1 given back to workers by the National Insurance cuts, £1.30 will have been taken away due to threshold changes between 2021 and 2024.

This rises to £1.90 in 2027.

The UK could face a shortage of cava due to a drought in the sparkling wine's Spanish heartlands.

The Penedes area of Catalonia is dealing with its worst drought on record, with vineyards across the region so parched the roots of 30-year-old vines have died.

It's left shrivelled red and green grapes languishing under intense sun, fuelled by fossil-fuel driven climate change.

Cava is an increasingly popular drink in the UK, with 17.8 million bottles sold in 2023 - an increase of 5% from the previous year, when Britons stocked up on 16.8 million bottles, according to the Cava Regulatory Board.

That makes the UK the fourth-biggest buyer, behind only the US, Belgium and Germany.

Workforce slashed

The problems have been compounded after Catalonia-based cava producer Freixenet announced it will temporarily lay off 615 workers, almost 80% of its workforce.

Under Spanish law, companies facing exceptional circumstances can lay off staff or reduce working hours.

This measure is expected to take effect from May and it is not known how long it will last.

Price rises

One industry source told retail publication The Grocer  that cava shortages would push up prices "certainly for next year" if there isn't enough supply.

This could last for years if the drought persists, they added.

Consumer expert Helen Dewdney told MailOnline the staff cuts at Freixenet can only mean one thing - price rises.

However, she added, supermarkets say they are not experiencing any issues right now.

Parents are being hammered by rising childcare costs, according to a new study that suggests they may spend more than £160,000 raising their child to the age of 18.

Research by Hargreaves Lansdown has found that parents with children pay £6,969 a year more than couples without.

Over 18 years and assuming an annual inflation rate of 3%, that amounts to a whopping £163,175, the investment platform said.

Its study also found that parents were less likely to have money left at the end of the month.

Single parents carry the biggest burden, with the research suggesting they have just £85 left on average compared to £365 for couples with children.

Hargreaves Lansdown also found just 23% of single parents reported having enough emergency savings to cover at least three months' worth of essential expenses, compared to 63% of couples with children.

Parents are also at a slight disadvantage when it comes to pensions, the research found, with only 43% of couples with children on track for a moderate retirement income, compared to 47% without. Only 17% of single parents have a decent projected pension fund.

Sarah Coles, head of personal finance at the firm, said "having children is one of the most expensive decisions a person can make".

She adds that as a result of having a child, "financial resilience suffers across the board", and added: "For single parents, life is even tougher, and they face far lower resilience on almost every measure.

"It means we need all the help we can get."

One of the top stories shaking up the markets this morning is that UK-based mining company Anglo American has rejected a major $38.8bn (£31bn) takeover bid.

Details of the attempted buyout by Australian rival BHP emerged yesterday  - sending Anglo American shares soaring.

The deal would have created the world's biggest copper mining company - with the news coming as the price of the metal hit record highs this week.

However, Anglo American has now dismissed the proposal as "opportunistic" and said BHP had undervalued the company.

Anglo's shares are slightly down by 0.8% this morning - suggesting investors may not have given up hopes that a deal could eventually be agreed.

However, overall the FTSE 100 is up around 0.4% this morning, buoyed by strong reported earnings from US tech giants Microsoft and Google owner Alphabet.

It's helped the index, of the London Stock Exchange's 100 most valuable companies, hit yet another intraday (during the day) record of 8,136 points this morning.

The winning streak comes after a week of all-time highs on the index - including a record close of 8,078 points yesterday. The score is based on a calculation of the total value of the shares on the index.

Among the companies doing well this morning is NatWest - despite the bank reporting a fall in pre-tax profits of nearly 28% for the first quarter of the year.

Shares in the lender are up more than 3% after its results were better than expected by analysts.

On the currency markets, £1 buys $1.25 US or €1.16, almost on a par with yesterday.

Meanwhile, the price of a barrel of Brent crude oil has crept up slightly to $89 (£71).

Self-checkouts - they're like marmite, people seem to either love them or hate them.

But the boss of Sainsbury's has claimed that his customers do  enjoy using self-checkouts, despite criticism that that machines don't always provide the convenience promised.

Simon Roberts told The Telegraph that there are more of them in Sainsbury's stores "than a number of years ago" as shoppers like the "speedy checkout".

But despite this, he said there won't be a time when they'll replace cashiers completely.

"Over the last year, where we've put more self-checkouts in, we're always making sure that the traditional kind of belted checkout is there," he said.

His comments come after northern supermarket Booths ditched self-checkouts at all but two of its sites after customer feedback. 

Walmart and Costco in the US have also scaled back on the systems.

We've all heard consumer advice that's repeated so often it almost becomes cliché. So, every Friday the Money team will get to the bottom of a different "fact" and decide whether it's a myth or must.

This week it is...

'Smart meters save you money'

For this one, we've enlisted the help of Dr Steve Buckley, also known as the Energy Doctor and head of data science at Loop...

So do smart meters help you save? 

"The short answer is both yes and no," Steve says.

"Installing a smart meter by itself won't magically reduce your energy consumption. But, by giving you easy access to your energy usage data, smart meters pave the way for savings that you couldn't achieve otherwise."

Before smart meters, most households only found out how much energy they had used when the bill arrived. 

By that stage it's too late to address wasteful usage, leading to what's known as "bill shock". 

"With a smart meter, you can see your usage and costs in real-time through an in-home display or an app provided by your supplier," Steve says. 

"This immediate feedback encourages you to use less energy. If you measure it, you can control it."

In 2022, the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero found that homes with smart meters used about 3.4% less electricity and 3% less gas. 

"This might not seem like a lot, but it adds up to a saving of over £50 per household annually," Steve says.  

If all homes in the UK made similar cuts, that would amount to savings of around £1.5bn and a potential reduction in CO2 emissions by about 2.7m tonnes each year. 

"Good for individual households but also great for the planet," Steve says. 

Smart meters are often installed at no extra cost to the consumer - it's effectively free data for households. 

Limitations

Smart meters are more or less what you make of them - a simple, free tool that allows you to see headline figures. 

However, "without detailed analysis, it's tough to identify and eliminate" where you could be wasting money, Steve says. 

Apps like Utrack, Loop and Hugo Energy can help you work out where you might be losing money by offering a more detailed breakdown if connected to your smart meter. 

Those tools are often free, but you may need to register your card details as proof of address. 

The tools give a number of useful insights, including looking at consumption in other households of similar size or monitoring where chunks of your money are going, such as to a faulty boiler or the "phantom load" (energy wasted by devices left on unnecessarily).

Myth or must?

Although smart meters alone don't reduce energy bills, they are a vital tool to help energy efficiency and cost savings.

It can be hard to balance getting nutritious foods that make you feel good without spending a lot.

In this series, which ends today after digging into yoghurt, bread, pasta, fruit juice and plant-based milk, we've tried to find the healthiest options in the supermarket for the best value.

Sunna Van Kampen,  founder of  Tonic Health ,  who went viral on social media for reviewing food in the search of healthier choices, has given his input for the past six weeks.

And for the final part of the series, we're looking at the nation's favourite snack: crisps. 

The series does not aim to identify the outright healthiest option, but to help you get better nutritional value for as little money as possible.

We're a people obsessed: in the UK, we get through six billion packets of crisps a year.

Sunna has three easy tips for finding the tastiest options that are kinder to your body...

1. Understand the fat facts

"Typical crisps can be oil sponges and contain over 30% fat from low-quality vegetable oils that have been fried," Sunna says. 

"What we are on the lookout for those that buck the trend and stay away from the fat." 

So, he says, aim for crisps that contain less than 15% total fat.

2. Fibre up your snack time

"While crisps aren't exactly salad, some can offer more nutritional value than others," Sunna says.

"Check the labels for options that have more fibre or protein."

These help you feel fuller for longer and also keep your digestive system happy.

3. Portion control

"It's easy to demolish an entire bag in one sitting - however, many brands offer multipack bags that are portion-controlled, usually around 25g a bag," Sunna says.

Sticking to these helps to manage calorie intake and stops overindulging.

The big picture

"Small changes might not immediately seem like a lot but if you eat a bag a day with your lunch, we are talking about up to a whopping two litres of oil cut from your diet over the course of the year," Sunna says,

"This is not permission to eat crisps every day (enjoy as an occasional treat) but rather an indication of how small changes add up quickly overtime."

The good news is Sunna's recommendations are all similar in price to their popular, fattier rivals - so you don't need to make a bigger investment to reap some health benefits. 

We've included the prices for the brands' standard multipacks at Tesco - correct as of time of writing. 

Walkers Oven Baked - £1.95 for six-pack

"Around £1.95 for a pack of six, these crisps are baked, not fried, slashing the fat content to 13%, so a great option."

Popchips - £2.25 for five-pack

"These have just 13% fat content as they're popped rather than fried so are a great way to go reducing fat without compromising on the crunch."

And for some non-crisp options...

ProperCorn Popcorn - £2 for six-pack

Often described as "the healthier, lighter option", Sunna says ProperCorn "isn't actually the best option on the market for fat content at 17.4%".

That being said, you do get "double the fibre of standard crisps at 10.9g per 100g". 

At only £2 for a pack of six, it's well-priced, too.

Snack A Jacks - £2.20 for five-pack

"At only 8.3% fat per 100g, it's a great option at £2.20 for a pack of five."

Penn State Baked Pretzels - £1.50 for 175g bag

Now for Sunna's winner.

"The German classic is a great option at only 4.6% fat per 100g," he says.

One downfall is that they are not available in portioned bags, so be careful with the whole 175g bag for £1.50.

Want another option altogether?

"If you want to be even healthier, consider the switch to nuts, seeds or even dried cheese snacks," Sunna says.

"Higher in calories yes, but higher in good healthy fats too and are more satiating which will limit the chance of overeating."

The nutritionist's view -  from  Dr Laura Brown , senior lecturer in nutrition, food and health sciences at Teesside University...

"Baked instead of fried crisps is definitely a way forward as well as the popcorn suggestion," she says.

"We should also be aiming to look at the amount of protein and fibre found in products. For example, lentil and pea snacks are growing in popularity due to their higher protein and fibre values, so the focus should be more on looking for ingredients other than potatoes, oil and salt. 

"I also feel 'crisp' based snacks made in an air fryer are becoming more popular. These can include a wholemeal wrap with a small amount of oil added, and placed in the air fryer with paprika and other seasoning added for flavour. 

"Also, chickpeas in the air fryer make for a super delicious protein and fibre rich snack. They are cheaper than crisps and lower in fat since no oil has to be added."
