Toasters fuckin rock. And even though they are well before my time they are still relevant and still make the crowd shake that ass. I know i did. Also it was cool to see familiar faces. It seems people in and about ska are fans also. Listen to some ska smoke weed and do some skankin'. The best self-therapy and sometimes death metal. Lol best show show so far this 2020.

The show was awesome! This was my first time seeing the toasters. Robert "Bucket" Hingley was very personable with the crowd, and his love for the music showed. I just like to say that I would’ve liked for the set to be longer. I hope they come back to Madison again.

The Toasters were great as always. They stuck to a pretty standard set list for them, not playing anything I haven’t heard them play before, but including 2 of my favorites they don’t always play (Dog Eat Dog & Dub 56). Some little guy jumped up onto one of the microphones and started chanting 2-tone army after they finished, thus eliciting their go to encore song 2-tone army. It was great. Two of the openers, Prideless and Chieforia, were good two. We had a large time.

In their 36th year the Toasters are hitting the gas, not the brakes. With an international all-star line-up their whirlwind global tour continues unabated across the continents with performances scheduled in the United States, Russia, Ireland, Mexico, Costa Rica as well as a full summer of European Festival plays including Overjam (Slovenia), Mighty Sounds (CZ) and many others.

Formed on the Lower East Side of NYC in 1981 the band is the longest running US SKA formation. They bridge the gap between England’s 2-Tone movement and the American Ska explosion of the 90’s which they are rightfully credited with starting. During the 3rd Wave Ska revival The Toasters formed the famous Moon Records label and kick-started the careers of dozens of bands.

In January 2017 The Toasters will be releasing a video for “House of Soul”, a 45RPM single which was released in 2016. The band has expanded their own private label Toasters branded hot sauce with a new flavor, “East Side Heat”. The band will also be releasing the “Live in Zagreb” vinyl in April.

Despite wrist flare-ups, Jordan Spieth aims to contend at Augusta National

Enters his 11th Masters with ‘constant TLC’ approach to wrist

A wrist flare-up prevented Jordan Spieth from practicing as recently as last Monday, but he finished 10th anyway at the Valero Texas Open.

With an approach of “constant TLC,” he hopes to keep the pain away and contend at his 11th Masters Tournament, as he so often does.

Spieth, 30, said Tuesday he has yet to fix a lingering ECU tendon issue in his wrist, which flares up unpredictably and thus inhibits his ability to practice for roughly 24 hours at a time. It also flared up on Monday of THE PLAYERS Championship last month (he missed the cut) and shortly after a third-place finish at The Sentry in January, he said Tuesday. When the flare-up occurs, he can’t practice that day, but he tends to feel better day-by-day – aided by a better understanding of the issue, which was perhaps misdiagnosed as an acute injury last May.

Unpredictable wrist and all, Spieth arrived at Augusta National with a full-throttle approach to chasing a second green jacket. He’ll tee off at 1:48 p.m. ET on Thursday in an entertaining grouping that includes Ludvig Åberg and Sahith Theegala.

“As the week goes on, it gets better and better, using it more and more, and I'm recovering more and more than, say, my days off at home,” Spieth, winner of the 2015 Masters, said Tuesday. “I'm getting treatment daily here. That's included with everything else that I didn't used to do.

“Since I've gotten more on top of it by December, I at least know what it is and how to get it quickly better. But, yeah, it's something that I don't think there's really anything I can do other than rest. And I'm not resting it anytime soon. So I'll probably take quite a bit of time when the season's over and see if it kind of sets it back in place and doesn't flare up as much.”

Spieth is often a popular pick at Augusta National and for good reason, having gone second-win-second in his first three Masters appearances (2013-15) and adding three more top-four finishes since, including a tie for fourth last season. His blend of innate creativity and tactical acumen matches Augusta National’s multi-dimensional canvas, which features nuanced slopes and tilts from the fairway through the green. Spieth lives outside the lines, which is seemingly more rewarded than penalized around Augusta (for those who game-plan accordingly). Although his results this season have been erratic, with back-to-back missed cuts before an entertaining T10 at the Valero (including a shot onto a roof), the Masters often serves as Spieth’s elixir.

“You have to have the right height and spin combinations,” Spieth said of Augusta National’s unique challenge. “Some shots the spin doesn't matter – they have to come in landing softly – and some shots you'd rather have them low and skiddy to be able to play up ridges and not have to land it into slopes and stuff.

“So there's a lot of imagination, but I don't know the place that requires more precision on a combination of height and spin, whether it's in a bunker or out of the fairway, than you see here.”

A troublesome wrist is nothing new for Spieth, either. A week after last fall’s Ryder Cup, he reaggravated his wrist while reaching for the toaster to make his son breakfast. Spieth was diagnosed at the time with ulnar nerve damage, which can impair movement or sensation in the wrist or hand, experiencing comparable symptoms to an ailment last May (forcing a WD from his hometown THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson) that he treated as an acute wrist injury. Looking back, though, there was no physical issue in May that correlated with how he felt, he said at last fall’s Hero World Challenge. With a better understanding of the ECU tendon issue, he’s now positioned to treat it more effectively, he said Tuesday.

Spieth’s forearm trouble dates to 2018, when he suffered a bone chip in his left hand, likely sustained during weightlifting. He refused to use it as an excuse but admitted in 2021 that he could have benefitted from surgery (which he opted against).

Aggravated wrist and all, Spieth expects nothing less than an optimized performance this week amidst the loblolly pines.

Spieth noted Tuesday: “I love contending here more than I do just about anywhere else, and I look forward to trying to do so this year."

Adam Sandler Announces 25-Date Comedy Tour in North America: 'Let's Have Some Fun'

Adam Sandler is going back on the road!

The comedian, 57, announced on social media Wednesday that he'll be embarking on a comedy tour in North America from October to December, with 25 dates in total throughout the U.S. and Canada. The run of shows, titled the I Missed You Tour , is set to kick off Oct. 12 in Vancouver.

"Let’s have some fun," Sandler captioned an Instagram trailer, which included clips of him playing the guitar, taking some crowd selfies at a handful of shows and getting plenty of laughs.

The latest run of shows follows the Uncut Gems actor's Adam Sandler LIVE gigs, which concluded in April. The I Missed You Tour — which is produced by Live Nation — features stops in Portland, San Jose, Toronto, Memphis, Salt Lake City, Rochester, Minneapolis, Oklahoma City, and beyond — with a final date on Dec. 12 in Denver.

Live Nation ticket presale kicks off at 12 p.m. local time on Thursday, with a Ticketmaster general sale starting at 12 p.m. local time on Friday.

Actor Pauly Shore shared his excitement under Sandler's Instagram post with the comment, "Daaaaa Sand man is back boom boom broozzz."

Sandler's tour announcement arrives shortly after he and his family starred in the Netflix teen film You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah , which followed the crew as they navigated planning the perfect bat mitzvah.

Adam and wife Jackie Sandler's daughters — Sunny , 14, and   Sadie , 17 — play the roles of two teens as the film "chronicles the high comedy and modern teen angst that comes with family, friendship, and first crushes," per a synopsis .

"What’s really funny is right before we started prepping for the film,  Sunny  had her actual bat mitzvah," director Sammi Cohen told PEOPLE in August of the film. "So I went to that service, and we got to do the real-life bat mitzvah and then left to make the movie. It was a really fun life movie moment."

Sandler thanked his friends and family when collecting his award after several hilarious speeches, noting that "everybody was great."

"I feel like everyone who came and spoke up there, I think we all truly love each other," he said. "We have each other's backs for life. People always would ask me those bad reviews you get, how does that make you feel, like s---? It really doesn't. I think the reason I get to say it didn't hurt me is because so many of you guys in this room made me feel great about what we've done together."

’Cuse Collections Donation Event 2024

Design by Lauren Estabrook ’24, environmental and interior design student in the College of Visual and Performing Arts.

Sustainability Management is happy to announce the dates for the end-of-semester donation event known as ’Cuse Collections. From Wednesday, May 1, through Tuesday, May 7, two storage containers will be placed on North Campus and one will be placed on South Campus to collect donations. Donation drop-off times will be posted on the Sustainability Management social media accounts ( Instagram , Facebook and X ) and on sustainability.syracuse.edu . The locations are as follows:

• DellPlain Hall loading dock
• Sadler Hall parking lot (next to dumpsters)
• Carriage House: 161 Farm Acre Road

All students are welcome to drop off unused and gently used items. The following items will be accepted:

• Clothing and shoes
• Sheets, comforters, pillows, blankets
• Non-perishable food items
• Small kitchen items and appliances (microwaves, toasters, blenders, TVs, lamps, silverware, pots and pans, blenders, vacuums and more)
• Tables and chairs

Donations will be collected and distributed to local organizations such as the YWCA, the Transitional Age Youth Project, Recuse Mission, InterFaith Works, the Mary Nelson Youth Organization and RISE (Refugee and Immigrant Self-Empowerment). All non-perishable food items will go to the South Campus food pantry. Volunteers are needed to tend to the locations to help assist those dropping off items and organizations collecting donations. Here we are in the South of Russia. Welcome to Krasnodar, a major economic and cultural center of North Caucasus, also called “the capital of Kuban”. Krasnodar, perhaps, is one of the most interesting resort towns of the Russian Federation. It is a relatively young city founded by the Cossacks in в 1793 on the lands granted by Ekaterina II (hence its former name was Ekaterinodar). Later, when the Soviet system rose to power, the city was re-named to Krasnodar in 1920, and it preserved this name up to date.

Krasnodar is a center of the Russia’s southern touristic zone, located of the right bank of the Kuban River, 120-150 km from two warm seas – the Black and the Azov. It is an interesting fact that the city is located in the golden section of the Earth, almost in between the equator and the North Pole, right on the 45th parallel, also called “the Golden Line” or “the Life Line”. There exists an opinion that the living conditions in these latitudes are most favorable for human.

In spite of the city’s “youth” Krasnodar has many historical landmarks, while its architectural look is various and represented by different styles from Baroque and Classicism to late Modern. In Krasnodar, there is one of the largest Russian churches – Saint Catherine’s Cathedral, built as early as in 1914 and survived by a miracle under the Soviet power. It is also worth while visiting the Krasnodar main Orthodox Church – Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. Interesting and dramatic, was the fate of this, one of the Russia’s most beautiful churches, an example of Russian and Byzantine templar style. Alexander Nevsky Military Cathedral was erected in April 1853, but later on, in year 1932 it was blown up by the Communists. And it was not until May 2006 when the inauguration ceremony of Alexander Nevsky Cathedral built anew took place.

Nowadays the Krasnodar architectural variety combines the harmony of old and modern structures. Now, next to the churches there are also modern high-rise buildings (the Marriott Hotel”), shopping and entertainment centers (“Red Square”), modern concert halls (Palace of Arts “Premiere”), restaurants, and night clubs. The city also strikes with its numerous museums, theaters, art galleries. Particularly, if you find yourself in Krasnodar, we recommend you to visit the Krasnodar Regional Art Museum named after F. A. Kovalenko to enjoy a rare collection of Russian avant-garde and Dutch art of XVI century, and also attend concerts of SSAI “Kuban Cossack chorus” to listen to Kuban Cossack, Russian and Ukrainian folk-songs.

Two Krasnodar unusual landmarks enjoy wide popularity among tourists and local community: the Monument to a purse and the Monument to the doggies in love. Do you want to turn round? Then you are to the purse. It is enough to rub your purse over it, and you will have more money. But if you are unlucky in love, then the loving couple of dogs will help you, you should stroke their small paws and love will certainly come to you.
