Safari Hunting

Bosveld Jacobs Safaris can be regarded as being synonymous with the concept of ethical hunting. Early morning drives take us to the relevant hunting areas. We then pursue our prey on foot and go into the utmost of efforts in locating and shooting quality trophies. The hunter’s health and physical abilities might occasionally compel us to adapt hunting strategies. We pride ourselves to the fact that we see to it that even the physical disabled shoot their own trophies.

Accommodation

Our base camp in the malaria-free Limpopo Waterberg is filled with tranquility and hospitality. The entertainment area hosts a large open dining-braai room, bar and true African lapa where we burn fires ’till late night, sharing our days experiences.

While we want to be sure our hunters’ requirements are met, we certainly don’t forget our non-hunting patrons. We will make their African experience an unforgettable one. We are well-placed to access some world-renowned places; including the Lost City, Sun City, Legends Golf Course and Pilanesberg Game Reserve.

Daily Rates Include:

• Transfers to and from Johannesburg airport
• Service of a tour guide and use of vehicle

Daily Rates Exclude:

• 15% government required tax (VAT)

Terms of Business

• A deposit will be required to confirm your booking, payable in cash or wire transfer. 50% of your total estimated safari cost is to be paid 2 weeks prior to arrival.
• The balance is payable upon completion of the safari in cash or by wire transfer.
• Please enquire about our cancellation policy.
• All prices may be subject to change, due to fluctuations in Exchange rates; prospective clients will be notified in advance.
• All clients are to sign the safari contract and indemnity waiver.

* These species require a predator trophy hunting permit ** These species require prior documentation and appropriate hunting permits, some even require a motivation letter from the outfitter to Nature Conservation before any hunting permit is granted and a refusal is always possible. *** Importation of Ostrich feathers into the United States of America is becoming more and more difficult due to the Newcastle Disease Virus in birds found in South Africa and the outbreak in the Avian influenza in Asia. It is not impossible to import feathers into the US however complication may arise upon entry and importation may be refused. The importation of tanned Ostrich skin has not been affected.

Although it is legal to hunt the following species in Namibia with the appropriate permit, the United States of America do not permit the importation of Cheetah, Black-Faced Impala and Brown Hyena.

Hunters may combine their trophy hunt with some management hunting which consists of non-trophy and cull animals, for further details click here .

Additional species hunted outside of Ozondjahe Hunting Safaris hunting territory are available on special request: Elephant, White Rhinoceros, Cape Buffalo, Lion, Hippopotamus, Crocodile, Sable Antelope, Roan Antelope and Spotted Hyena.

Some species may not be able to be imported back into your country of residence or whatever country you intend on importing your trophies into. You can find information on the importation of sport hunted trophies for the United States at the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service at https://www.fws.gov/permits/ or the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) at https://www.cites.org/ . For other countries’ importation regulations please refer to their appropriate agencies.

Reservation and Payments  ←

The safari reservation dates will only be confirmed once the full amount of the deposit (50% of the daily rates) has been received by Ozondjahe Hunting Safaris. The deposit (50% of the daily rates), required to confirm the reservation dates, will be applied to the total cost of the safari. Payment of the balance, the remaining 50% of the daily rates, is due not later than 90 days prior to the commencement of the safari.

Prior to departure from Ozondjahe Hunting Safaris, client shall be required to pay the full amount due, in an acceptable form of payment, for trophy fees and all additional costs that have been incurred (any additional expense or service not defined by the company as included).

Ozondjahe Hunting Safaris regards only the following as acceptable forms of payment (in US$ or Euro): bank transfers that have been received prior to clients’ departure from Ozondjahe Hunting Safaris, credit cards (Visa, MasterCard and Maestro) or cash. Personal checks, traveler’s checks and bank certified checks cannot be accepted as payment.

Wounded game which is not recovered is considered as hunted and is subject to payment of the listed trophy fee. Government tax of 15% is NOT applicable on exported trophies, however the government tax of 15% is applicable and payable by the client on wounded game not recovered and trophies/animals that are not exported from Namibia.

All prices are in United States Dollars and are subject to change without notice. Firearm rental, ammunition purchase, charges for internet connection, international phone calls and faxes will be subject to the government tax of 15%.

South Africa Hunting Trophy Fees

All prices are in US dollars.

*Bushpig, Civet Cat, and Genet Cat are all hunted at night over bait and/or with a spotlight. Civet Cat and Genet Cat also require a special hunting permit. For these reasons, hunters wishing to pursue any of those species must give us advance notice so we can prepare appropriately and obtain the necessary hunting permits.

Our primary hunting areas have some fantastic bird hunting opportunities and you’re welcome to add a day or two of wing shooting onto a plains game and/or buffalo hunt. In particular, our main camp has healthy populations of pigeon, dove, and guinea fowl year round. Other species are migratory.

Depending on the exact time of year and exact bird species we’re hunting, this can range from sitting on the edge of a field pass shooting doves and pigeons as they come and go (in flocks of dozens and hundreds) to some sort of beaten hunt for other birds using people and/or dogs. There’s good bird hunting all year round, but there are definitely seasonal peaks. The months of May, June, July, and August tend to have really good hunting for a variety of bird species. Contact us for more details on adding some wing shooting to your hunt.

Want to relive your once in a lifetime hunt and/or share the experience with friends/family when you return home? If so, then you’ll definitely want to book the services of our videographer. He’ll go out hunting with you each day, film the events of your trip, and then build a video of the entirety of your hunt. He’ll do all the editing in camp and will provide a USB flash drive with the completed video on your departure day for you to take home with you.

Videos are normally 40-60 minutes long and tell the story of your full experience: the hunt itself, camp life, especially interesting encounters with wildlife, etc. You’re also welcome to make special requests of him while you’re there. Join us on one of our South Africa Cape Buffalo hunts if you want to go up against the legendary Black Death on our outstanding buffalo hunting area in northern Limpopo Province. Cape Buffalo are the most sought after member of the Big Five and this is a real deal Cape Buffalo hunt for wild buffalo on foot and in thick bushveld conditions.

We have a 100% success rate over the past four years and our lifetime success rate on Cape Buffalo hunting safaris is over 90%. We only hunt hard bossed bulls, not immature bulls who have not had an opportunity to breed.

• No hidden costs: our South Africa hunting packages include everything except for your air fare, taxidermy, and shipment of your trophies.

• We’ll pick you up at O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. Unlike a hunt in Namibia, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, or the Eastern Cape of South Africa, no follow on airline flights or plane charters are necessary if you book a hunting safari with us.
• If you want to bring your own rifle, we’ll get a temporary import permit for you and help you with all the paperwork involved at no extra charge. So, there is no need to go through the hassle of importing your rifle on your own or pay an additional $200-300 to another company for their help with this.
• We book a limited number of hunts each year, abide by strict quotas, and carefully manage our hunting areas. This ensures that our hunters have high success rates and take the best quality trophies possible (over 90% of our trophies make the Safari Club International or Rowland Ward record book).
• Our Professional Hunters (PHs) are friendly, knowledgeable, and have many years worth of experience guiding North American, European, and Asian hunters on plains game and dangerous game hunting safaris.
• We take pride in providing authentic African hunting safaris with outstanding personal service before, during, and after your hunt. Our South Africa hunting prices are valid for hunts booked in 2024 and 2025. Though every effort will be made to follow up and recover wounded animals, all animals wounded and not recovered will be charged the full trophy fee.

For hunters that do not wish to bring their own rifles, we have scoped rifles chambered in .308 Winchester, .30-06 Springfield, .338 Winchester Magnum, .375 H&H and .375 Ruger available for our clients. We provide use of the rifle and ammunition suitable for hunting plains game or Cape Buffalo as appropriate at no extra charge.

Located in the picturesque Waterberg Mountains. Bosveld Wegbreek is the perfect bush getaway. We offer every type of accommodation, such as Chalets, Group bookings, and Camping. We are a nature reserve with Giraffe, Kudu, Impala, Wildebees, Zebra, Warthog, and much more wildlife, including a wide range of different bird species. The Dam echoes different bird calls and guests enjoy fishing on a catch-and-release basis. Self-guided marked walking trails for the nature lover that just wants to get out there. Varying distances up to 9kms. Self- drives around the park are allowed for high-rise vehicles. A hot indoor pool to relax, and meditate, and a cold outdoor swimming pool to enjoy soaking up the sun.

We really enjoyed our stay at bosveld wegbreek. It was neat and clean and just getting away from hustle and bustle was necessary. I do think that the game room needs some serious upkeep and tlc then it will be amazing. Otherwise happy 😁

The bakery had the most divine bread rolls, and the food you wanted to purchase was available. There is a shop in the main street, Joey's "tuisnywerheid" where you can buy homemade goodies to your heart's delight!!

Very nice place.

I've spent my day at Belabela Aventura resort. Game drives, swimming,and many different games in the resort. Then I slept at a beautiful accomodation (Shakala village)at Modimolle. I also enjoyed a breakfast at Koro Creek restaurant.

Great accommodation and lots of game animals!!
