How to get the most out of the Jordan Pass

The treasures of Jordan have beguiled visitors for centuries, from the cliff-carved city of Petra – unknown to Westerners for centuries – to the otherworldly rust-red sands of Wadi Rum.

Access to Jordan’s most popular tourist attractions, plus a whole host of other visit-worthy sites around the country, is now more affordable for travelers thanks to this program. Read on to discover why the Jordan Pass is the right decision for most visitors.

What is the Jordan Pass?

Offered by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Jordan Pass  package combines a tourist visa with admission to about 40 tourist sites across the country for a discounted price. The price starts at JD70 (about US$98), with three options available depending on whether you’d like to visit Petra for one, two or three days.

Is getting a Jordan Pass worth it?

The Jordan Pass is best suited to travelers who are:

  • traveling independently (not with a tour group)
  • eligible for a visa on arrival
  • planning to visit Petra
  • planning to spend at least three nights in Jordan

The three-night minimum is a requirement, so if you will only be in Jordan for a day (on a side trip from Israel, for example), you will not be able to take advantage of the savings. Because the cost of the pass is based on entrance to Petra, it doesn’t make sense to buy it if you aren’t planning to spend time in the ancient city. (For the record: we think any visitor to the country shouldn’t miss this extraordinary place!)

The value of the Jordan Pass in terms of the visa fee is dependent on your nationality. Travelers from more than 100 countries are eligible for a visa on arrival . If you fit into this category, you are traveling independently and you purchase the Jordan Pass online before you arrive in the country, your visa fee of JD40 (about US$56) is waived. That alone makes the Jordan Pass a good deal, even if Petra is the only site you visit among the dozens included with the pass.

If you’re traveling with a tour operator, you are already eligible for waived fees, so the Jordan Pass is probably not worth it. Ask your operator whether your visa fees and site entry fees are included in your tour.

Standard entry fees for Petra are JD50 (about US$70) for one day, JD55 for two days or JD60 for a three-day visit. The multiple price points for the Jordan Pass align with the additional entrance fees to Petra.

Here are some tips for making the most of the Jordan Pass.

If you have only a few days in Jordan…

Hit the highlights. Plan at least one full day to cover a good amount of ground in Petra , then spend a night or two immersed in Wadi Rum , another Unesco-listed site included with the Jordan Pass.

While one day in Petra might be enough for the casual visitor, hikers and history buffs will want to allow more time to  to get off the typical tourist track . Choose the three-day Jordan Pass, and you’ll have enough time to visit the High Place of Sacrifice , make a one-day pilgrimage to Jebel Haroun (one of the best viewpoints of the region, and a site that’s said to the the burial place of Aaron, brother of Moses) and hike the back way to the Monastery from Little Petra , in addition to spending more time at the more popular Petra spots such as the Treasury and Royal Tombs .

After you’ve had your fill of Petra, enjoy the slow pace and starry nights in Wadi Rum. Hike and camp with local Bedouin or ride 4x4s through the deserts, exploring the craggy rock faces and windswept sand dunes.

If you have a week in Jordan…

Take a road trip to take in some Jordan Pass attractions. Start in Jerash , one of the best-preserved Roman cities in the world, located less than an hour’s drive from Amman. On-site signage is limited, so hire a guide to show you around and share stories of this historic, picturesque place.

Ajloun Castle , another attraction included with the Jordan Pass, is about 30 minutes from Jerash, an easy add-on if you’ve got some time to spare before driving south to Amman.

Once in Amman , stop by the restored Roman Theatre , then visit the nearby Citadel for panoramic views (and sunset if you time it right) from atop the capital’s highest hill. Overnight it in the capital, then set out early the next day for Petra, allowing time for a slight detour to Karak Castle , one of the largest Crusader castles in the region and another fee-free attraction for Jordan Pass holders.

From Karak, continue on to Petra and Wadi Rum following the tips above, and afterward add a day in Aqaba for snorkeling plus two additional Jordan Pass attractions: Aqaba Fort and Aqaba Museum .

If you’re interested in religious sites…

Be sure to include Madaba on your itinerary. It’s an easy day trip from Amman or a nice stop on the way to the Dead Sea or southern Jordan. About 30 minutes from the Queen Alia International Airport, Madaba is also a great place to spend your first day or night when you arrive in Jordan.

Both the Madaba Museum and the Madaba Archaeological Park are included in the Jordan Pass, and you’ll also find Byzantine-era mosaics (including one of the oldest mosaic fragments in Jordan), archaeological exhibits, a preserved section of Roman road, the Church of the Virgin Mary, Ottoman buildings and more here. While in town, a visit to St George’s Church (not included in the Jordan Pass but just JD1 to enter) to see the impressive floor mosaic – and the oldest known map of the Holy Land – is a must.

If you want to get off the beaten track…

In addition to the big hitters, the Jordan Pass includes access to a number of interesting sites farther from the well-trodden tourist trail.

Off the beaten track in northern Jordan , you’ll find several intriguing archaeological sites such as Umm Al Jimal (the best-preserved Byzantine town in the region, where excavations are currently underway), the Greco-Roman ruins of Gadara in Umm Qais , and Pella , another lesser-known archaeological site near the town of Taqabat Fahl.

If you’re staying in Amman, take a day trip to the  Iraq Al Amir Cooperative , where you can enjoy lunch and handicraft workshops before catching the sunset at the archaeological site. Entrance to the site is included with the Jordan Pass, with activities at the women’s cooperative available to book separately.

If you’re traveling King’s Highway while road-tripping through Jordan, consider a stop at Umm Ar-Rasas (a Unesco-listed site where you’ll find gorgeous stone arches and very few, if any, other visitors) and Shobak Castle , the oldest Crusader fortress in the country.

One of the best ways to get around Jordan and get the most out of the Jordan Pass is to travel by foot and hike some of the Jordan Trail . Many of the sites included in the Jordan Pass are found along the Jordan Trail, such as Umm Qais, Pella, Jerash, Ajloun Castle, Iraq Al Amir, Karak Castle, Petra and Wadi Rum, among others. The Jordan Pass expires two weeks after first use; since you won’t have time to cover the full Jordan Trail, we recommend choosing a section suited to your interests.

If you're looking for  Egypt and Jordan Tour Packages , have a look at our tours above - we might have the right one for you.

What is the Jordan Pass?

The Jordan Pass is an all-in-one travel package for visitors to Jordan. It offers entry to more than 40 of the country's top attractions, as well as discounts on shopping and dining. The pass is designed to make it easier and more affordable for travelers to explore the country and experience its culture, history, and natural beauty.

The Jordan Pass was created in 2017 by the Jordan Tourism Board in collaboration with Visit Jordan, a private sector initiative that promotes tourism in the country. It was created to make it easier for travelers to access all of Jordan's attractions while also saving money. The pass includes entry fees to popular tourist sites such as Petra, Wadi Rum , Jerash , Madaba, and Mount Nebo. It also includes discounts on shopping and dining at select stores and restaurants across the country.

The pass is available in three different versions: one-day passes, three-day passes, and seven-day passes. Each pass includes admission to a certain number of attractions depending on the length of stay; for example, a one-day pass includes entry to five attractions while a seven-day pass includes entry to all 40+ attractions included in the package.

The cost of the passes varies depending on how many days you plan on staying in Jordan; one-day passes start at around $50 USD while seven-day passes are $200 USD or more. The cost of admission for each attraction is also included in the price of the pass; this means that if you purchase a one-day pass you will pay less than if you purchased individual tickets for each attraction separately.

The Jordan Pass is an excellent way for travelers to save money while exploring all that Jordan has to offer. Not only does it provide access to some of the country's most popular tourist sites but it also offers discounts on shopping and dining at select locations across the country. With its convenient packages and competitive prices, the Jordan Pass makes it easy for travelers to experience all that this beautiful country has to offer without breaking their budget!

Is the Jordan Pass worth it?

The Jordan Pass is an all-in-one package that includes free entry to many of the country's most popular attractions, including Petra, Jerash, Wadi Rum, and the Dead Sea. It also offers discounts on other attractions such as Amman Citadel and Madaba Mosaic Map. Additionally, the pass comes with a free visa upon arrival in Jordan and discounts on tours and activities like jeep safaris and hot air balloon rides.

For those looking to save money while experiencing all that Jordan has to offer, this pass is definitely worth considering. With its free entry to many of the country's most popular attractions, travelers can easily save hundreds of dollars over the course of their trip. Additionally, with its discounts on tours and activities, travelers can experience more for less money.

The cost of the Jordan Pass varies depending on how long you plan to stay in the country. For example, if you plan to stay for four days or more in Jordan then you will receive a 10% discount on your total cost for purchasing the pass. The longer you stay in Jordan, the more savings you will receive from buying this pass.

Another great benefit of purchasing this pass is that it allows travelers to skip lines at some attractions like Petra and Jerash which can be quite long during peak tourist season. This means that travelers who purchase this pass can spend more time exploring these sites instead of waiting in line for hours at a time!

Finally, if you are planning to visit multiple sites during your trip then purchasing this pass could be even more beneficial as it allows you to visit up to three sites per day without having to pay extra fees each time you enter one of them (this applies only if all three sites are listed on your ticket). This means that if you plan carefully then you could potentially save even more money by taking advantage of this feature!

The Jordan Pass is an all-in-one travel package for visitors to Jordan

What does the Jordan Pass include?

The Jordan Pass is an all-in-one sightseeing package for travelers to Jordan. Say goodbye to entrance fees as it includes free entry to over 40 tourist attractions, as well as discounts on activities, dining, and shopping. With so much included in one pass, it's no wonder that the Jordan Pass has become a popular choice among tourists.

So what exactly does the Jordan Pass include? For starters, it provides free entry to some of Jordan's most iconic sites such as Petra, Wadi Rum and Jerash. It also includes access to several lesser-known attractions like Ajloun Castle and Umm Qais. In addition to these historical sites, the pass also grants free entry to several nature reserves including Dana Biosphere Reserve and Azraq Wetland Reserve.

The Jordan Pass also offers discounts on activities such as camel rides, hot air balloon rides, boat trips and desert safaris. These activities can be expensive when purchased separately but with the pass you can save up to 50% on certain activities.

The pass also offers discounts on dining at select restaurants throughout the country. The discounts range from 10-20% depending on the restaurant and are usually valid for up to four people per meal. This can add up quickly if you plan on eating out a lot during your stay in Jordan!

Finally, the Jordan Pass includes discounts at select shops throughout the country. These discounts range from 5-15% depending on the store and can be used for anything from souvenirs to clothing items.

Is the Jordan Pass a Jordan tourist entry visa?

No, the Jordan Pass is not a tourist entry visa for Jordan. Visitors to Jordan must obtain a separate visa to enter the country, which can be obtained upon arrival at the airport or border crossing. The visa fee varies depending on the length of stay and type of visa required, such as a single-entry visa or a multiple-entry visa.

The Jordan Pass is a separate document that provides access to a range of historical and cultural sites throughout the country, and it does not replace the need for a visa. However, the Jordan Pass can make the process of visiting these sites more accessible and affordable for travelers by providing bundled access to multiple attractions and offering fast track entry to some of the most popular sites.

Therefore, if you are planning to visit Jordan, it's essential to obtain the necessary visa to enter the country, as well as consider whether the Jordan Pass is a worthwhile investment based on your travel plans and itinerary.

Buying the Jordan pass: how much it costs and where to buy it

The Jordan Pass can be purchased online through the official Jordan Pass website or from approved travel agents. The price of the pass varies depending on the tier and the duration of the visit, as follows:

Alternatively, you can also purchase the Jordan Pass through approved travel agents or tour operators, who may offer additional services and support for your trip to Jordan.

Does the Jordan Pass expire?

Yes, the Jordan Pass does expire, and the duration of validity depends on the tier of the pass purchased. The expiration date for each tier is as follows:

Jordan Wanderer: The pass is valid for 2 weeks from the date of activation.

Jordan Explorer: The pass is valid for 1 month from the date of activation.

Jordan Expert: The pass is valid for 2 months from the date of activation.

It's important to note that the activation date is the first day the pass is used to enter one of the included sites or attractions. For example, if you purchase the Jordan Wanderer Pass on January 1st but don't use it to enter any sites until January 10th, the pass will be valid until January 24th.

Also, it's worth mentioning that the Jordan Pass cannot be used beyond its expiration date, and any unused visits to the included sites or attractions will be forfeited. Therefore, it's essential to plan your itinerary carefully and ensure that you use the pass before it expires to get the most value out of it.

Overall, the Jordan Pass can be an excellent investment for travelers who plan to visit several of the included sites and attractions in Jordan, but it's crucial to keep the expiration date in mind when planning your trip.

The Jordan Pass can be purchased online through the official Jordan Pass website or from approved travel agents.

Can I buy the Jordan Pass at the airport?

Yes, it is possible to purchase the Jordan Pass upon arrival at the airport in Amman or at some land border crossings. However, it is important to note that the availability of the Jordan Pass at the airport or border crossing can vary, and it's not guaranteed that it will be available upon your arrival.

Additionally, purchasing the Jordan Pass at the airport or border crossing may take some time, as you will need to complete the necessary paperwork and wait in line to purchase the pass. This can be particularly time-consuming during peak travel times, so it's worth considering purchasing the pass online in advance to avoid any delays or inconvenience.

If you do decide to purchase the Jordan Pass at the airport or border crossing, make sure to bring a valid passport and a credit or debit card for payment. It's also important to note that purchasing the pass in person may limit your options, as you may not be able to select the specific tier or duration that best suits your travel plans.

Overall, while it is possible to purchase the Jordan Pass at the airport or border crossing, it's recommended to purchase it online in advance to ensure availability and avoid any potential delays or limitations.

What are the requirements for a Jordan Pass?

To purchase and use the Jordan Pass, there are a few requirements to keep in mind:

Valid passport: You must have a valid passport to purchase the Jordan Pass. The passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry into Jordan.

Visa requirements: The Jordan Pass does not replace the need for a visa to enter Jordan. Visitors from certain countries can obtain a visa on arrival at the airport or border crossing, while others must obtain a visa in advance. Check with your local Jordanian embassy or consulate for visa requirements for your country.

Entry dates: When purchasing the Jordan Pass online, you will be asked to select the dates of your visit. Make sure to select the correct dates, as the pass will only be valid for the dates you select.

Payment method: The Jordan Pass can be purchased online using a credit or debit card. If purchasing at the airport or border crossing, a credit or debit card may also be required.

Digital device: When purchasing the Jordan Pass online, you will need to download the pass onto a digital device, such as a smartphone or tablet. Make sure to bring the device with you when visiting the included sites.

Activation: The Jordan Pass is activated upon the first entry to one of the included sites or attractions. Make sure to plan your itinerary accordingly and activate the pass before its expiration date.

Overall, the requirements for the Jordan Pass are relatively straightforward, and as long as you have a valid passport and meet the visa requirements for entry into Jordan, you should be able to purchase and use the pass with ease.

Which countries are eligible to use the Jordan Pass on arrival?

Currently, citizens of the following countries can obtain a visa on arrival in Jordan and are eligible to use the Jordan Pass upon arrival:

  • European Union countries
  • Liechtenstein
  • New Zealand
  • Switzerland
  • United Kingdom
  • United States

It's important to note that visa policies can change, and it's always a good idea to check with the nearest Jordanian embassy or consulate to confirm visa requirements for your country. Additionally, even if your country is on the list of eligible countries for a visa on arrival, it's still recommended to purchase the Jordan Pass online in advance to save time and ensure availability.

An Honest Jordan Pass Review – Is it Worth Buying?

By: Author Sophie Pearce

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see my disclosure policy for details.

If you’re heading to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, more than likely you will require a visa to enter the country as a requirement.

But, did you know that as well as the tourist visa on arrival, the country has the Jordan Pass?

Not only does this pass include your visa to enter Jordan, but it’s also a ticket that includes entry to some of the main attractions in the country. Even Petra, which is one of the most expensive UNESCO sites in the world!

In this detailed post, I’ll go through a full Jordan Pass review and whether it’s worth buying one when you visit Jordan.

Thinking of renting a car? Click here to see my detailed post with driving tips!

What is the Jordan Pass?

The Jordan Pass is a discount programme that is provided by the Jordan Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

It’s a ticket that combines a tourist visa with FREE entry to over 40 tourist sites and attractions across the country.

This includes the likes of Petra, Amman Citadel, Jerash, Wadi Rum and so much more!

It’s only available if you plan to spend over 3 nights in Jordan and there are a couple of options available for you depending on your type of trip.

The Jordan Pass comes as a PDF document that you can print off and/or keep on your phone.

On the document will be your personal details and a QR code that is scanned on arrival to Jordan and at all the attractions. It’s important to have a few copies with you so that you can use the card at all times!

Jordan tourist entry visa vs the Jordan Pass

So, what’s the difference between the Jordan Pass and a normal Jordan tourist visa? Well, mostly it’s the amount of money you’ll be paying for it.

A tourist visa on arrival in Jordan will cost you around 40JOD (£45/$56USD). But, the Jordan Pass will naturally cost you much more than that as it also includes entry fees to attractions.

The Jordan Pass prices start from £80/$106 – £91/$113 depending on how many days you want to spend in Petra.

It’s good to note that your tourist visa on arrival for Jordan will not include any extra benefits like entrance fees. So, you’ll be paying out of your own pocket.

Petra Jordan

How much is the Jordan Pass?

This all depends on what type of pass you want to buy and how long you’re planning to spend in the country.

There are 3 Jordan Pass options;

  • Jordan Wanderer – Price: 70 JOD (£80/$98USD), 1 day entry for Petra
  • Jordan Explorer – Price: 75 JOD (£85/$105USD), 2 consecutive days entry for Petra
  • Jordan Expert – Price: 80 JOD (£91/$112USD), 3 consecutive days entry for Petra

So, you should probably decide what sort of pass would be right for your needs. Personally, I went for the Jordan Expert which included 3 days in Petra.

As I was planning on spending 10 days in Jordan, this was the best option for me as I knew I wanted to do lots of hiking in and around the complex.

But, if you’re only going to spend 3/4 days in Jordan, then I would buy the Jordan Wanderer .

Most people tend to buy the Jordan Explorer which includes 2 days in Petra.

I mean, it’s only $7 dollars extra to have one more day in Petra added on to a pass as a just in case . If you were going to buy an extra day’s entry to Petra at the site, this would cost you $127!

Petra Jordan

What does the Jordan Pass include?

All of the Jordan Pass options above include;

  • Free one time entry to over 40 attractions in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. This includes things like Amman Citadel, Petra, Jerash, Ajloun Castle, Umm Qays, Qasr Al-Azraq, Wadi Rum etc.
  • Waiving of your tourist entry visa fees if you are eligible for a visa on arrival in Jordan. As long as you stay over 3 consecutive nights in the country!
  • You can use it for over 12 months following your date of purchase. But, once you have scanned it at the airport, it will automatically expire after 2 weeks
  • Up to 30 days stay in Jordan with the Jordan Pass (but the included attraction entry fees are only valid for 2 weeks)
  • A FREE travel guide that gives you important information on travelling around, attractions, tips etc.

It’s good to note here that if you spend less than 3 nights in Jordan , you’ll be charged the 40JOD visa entry fee on exit

JORDANGRAM 1 of 1 7

What it doesn’t include

  • Petra by night – You will still need to spend 17JOD (£19/$23) on your ticket for Petra at night
  • Wadi Rum jeep fees – these will be separate. You only get your permit fee included. I would recommend booking your jeep tours in advance (although I didn’t)
  • Swimming in the Dead Sea – But, this is free anyway if you find the right spot along the coast. You’ll get this included with your hotel rate or you can pay a hotel to visit as well.
  • Wadi Mujib – this is a completely separate attraction and will cost you 13JOD (£14/$18)

Who can buy the Jordan Pass?

Anyone who is eligible for a visa on arrival in Jordan and is planning to spend over 3 nights (4 days) in the country can buy the Jordan Pass. This applies to over 137 countries at the moment!

It definitely makes sense for independent travellers who are arriving in Jordan or couples that are travelling independently of a tour. Sometimes, tours companies include your visa and entry fees.

For me, I was travelling solo, so it definitely made the most sense for my trip! But, it’s not the most ideal option for many travellers.

Here’s who the Jordan Pass is not ideal for;

  • If you’re from South Africa, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Japan or the Vatican City – you don’t need to pay a visa fee to enter Jordan. So, a pass isn’t required.
  • If you’re from an Arabic country or have Arabic nationality, you will get local discounts on entrance fees.
  • There are some countries that are banned from buying the Jordan Pass at this time. Always be sure to check.
  • Children under 12 do not need to buy a pass as they get free entry to attractions as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

Wadi Rum Jordan

Can you buy the Jordan Pass at the airport?

No, you must buy the Jordan Pass in advance of travel and the purchasing of it online is the thing that tourists complain most about!

Here is the official link to purchase one – https://www.jordanpass.jo/ .

The checkout process with card payments can be a little bit of an issue with errors and processing. So, if you’re buying your pass last minute, this can be a little stressful.

There are 3 ‘speeds’ you can choose from these are Standard Processing  (3 Business Days), Rush Processing  (maximum of 2 Business Days), Super Rush Processing  (1 Business Day). Obviously, the speedier you want your visa the more it will cost.

My personal advice would be to purchase the Jordan Pass at least one week before you plan to visit Jordan.

This way you can ensure you sort out any purchasing problems and you don’t miss out on getting it for your trip. It’s a real money saver!

The pass is valid for 12 months after your purchase it, so it’s really not a big deal if you purchase it well in advance.

Helpful steps for buying the Jordan Pass

  • Click this link – https://www.jordanpass.jo/ . to enter the Jordan Pass Website
  • Then click on the ‘Buy Now’ button on the top right hand corner
  • You’ll need need to put in your details, like your name, email address, telephone number, what ticket you would like (drop down menu) and then the number of tickets you’d like.
  • Proceed to payment and enter your payment details. (tip – be careful, don’t click ‘pay now’ too many times as you can be double charged).
  • Review your application and make sure all your details are correct. This is important. Make sure your name on the pass is identical to your passport!
  • Submit your application and then you’re done! Now, just wait for your pass to arrive.

How does the Jordan Pass work?

So, once you’ve sent off your application for the pass, you should receive your pass via email within 3 business days as a standard. But, if you’ve spent more money for a ‘speedier’ service you’ll get it quicker.

You’ll receive your pass as a zip file in your email. Once you’ve opened the file, you’ll see 3 documents there.

One is your Jordan Pass PDF, one is a mobile-friendly version of your Jordan Pass (just the QR code) and you’ll also receive a free travel guide/map of the country as well.

Once you get the PDF and mobile-friendly version, I would recommend saving the PDF to your phone and taking a screenshot of them as well. Just in case you cannot connect to WiFi while in Amman at the airport.

You don’t need to print out a physical copy of the pass, having it on your phone will work when you scan into the airport and attractions. But, if you’re worried about your phone dying while you’re in Jordan, I would say it’s best to print out a couple of copies to keep with you.

When you reach the airport, you’ll be able to fly past the normal visa on arrival queues by entering the Jordan Pass queue.

Then whenever you arrive at an attraction in Jordan, you can present your Jordan Pass at the kiosk.

You’ll receive a special ticket for the attraction that won’t cost you anything! Or, the security at the entry gates for the attractions will scan your QR code on your ticket. It’s really easy to use and worked well for me!

Is the Jordan Pass worth it?

If you are one of the qualifying countries that can purchase a visa on arrival, you’re travelling alone or independently from a tour group and you’re planning on spending more than 3 nights in Jordan – I think it’s totally worth buying the Jordan Pass!

I’ll help you out and do some of the math for you;

If you bought a tourist visa on arrival for 40JOD (£45/$56USD), then you added on a day entry to Petra which is 90 JOD (£103/$127 USD) that alone would cost you over 130JOD (£150/$183).

If you compare that to the Jordan Wanderer pass which waives your tourist entry fee and includes one-day entry to Petra which is only 70JOD (£80/$98USD). You’ve already made a massive saving of over 60JOD (£68/$84) already, without any of the other attractions yet!

Monastery at Petra

That’s why I decided to buy the Jordan Explorer pass for 80JOD (£91/$112USD) which got me 3 days in Petra for only 40JOD (£45/$56USD) minus the visa fees.

This already saved me over 230JOD on Petra tickets (£263/$324) not to mention I went to the Amman Citadel, Amman amphitheatre, Jerash, Wadi Rum with it too.! So, I saved hundreds of pounds by purchasing it.

Plus, there are many other benefits of having the Jordan Pass, other than just saving money;

  • You don’t have to keep getting cash out from the ATM for attractions
  • You can skip the visa lines at Amman Airport
  • It saves a lot of time!

Petra Jordan

My experience using it in Jordan

To me, the Jordan Pass was a no-brainer. I had a lot of time in Jordan (10 days) and I knew that Petra was at the top of my to-do list!

So, rather than rush it, I decided to buy the 3 days in Petra pass so that I could take my time there to explore and do as many hikes as possible.

I bought my pass around 5 days before I entered Jordan. I was a little concerned as I had read many horror stories about visas not coming through in time and many tourists being overcharged on credit cards. But, my payment went through fine. I actually got my visa within 2 business days which was a bonus.

The arrival in Amman airport was a breeze and I felt pretty smug skipping past all the visa on arrival queues by heading to the Jordan Pass queue. I was the only one there!

Amman was definitely a learning phase for me with the Jordan Pass though. I made my first mistake by paying for the Amman Amphitheatre early in the morning, even though this was included in my Jordan Pass.

Maybe I was just tired or didn’t have enough coffee so I forgot. But, when I told the staff member on the kiosk if I could get a refunded ticket, he refused as it was my mistake. It was only 3JOD but still…

Other than that hiccup, I had no problems using the pass throughout my travels! In fact, it saved me so much time and money. I didn’t even have to think about getting enough cash or using my card for anything really.

The Jordan Pass was a lifesaver – I would highly recommend it.

Final tips for using the pass

  • Once you’ve made your decision about what Jordan Pass you want, you can’t upgrade or downgrade your pass. Personally, the difference in price is so little, I’d always add on a day at Petra just in case. It beats, paying the 90JOD again…
  • Always check if your Jordan Pass is valid for an attraction before you pay for a ticket. Don’t make my mistake.
  • Make sure you have your passes on your phone. Take a screenshot, have it on file in your inbox/documents folder and take a few paper copies. You don’t want to lose it for Petra as this is the most expensive attraction.
  • Always contact the service team at https://www.jordanpass.jo/ if you have any issues. They’re apparently very helpful!

Are you heading around Jordan?

So, that’s my full Jordan Pass review and whether it’s worth it…Now, let’s start planning your trip to Jordan!

The best places to visit would be Amman, The Dead Sea, Petra, and Wadi Rum. But, there are also many more amazing places including the Ma’in Hot Springs, Wadi Mujib, Aqaba as well.

I would definitely recommend renting a car in Jordan if you’re travelling independently. Taking taxis is an expensive activity in Jordan. For example, a taxi from Amman to Petra is well over $200USD! Click here for my detailed guide.

If you’re debating whether to skip Amman, I would highly recommend that you don’t. It’s a fantastic city with so much to do, here’s my complete guide with all the things to do here.

Jordan Pass Review

Saturday 29th of April 2023

The article explains well how JP works, thank you. The Jordan pass is functional, and if your destination is Petra and you stay more than three nights, it will save you money. Without a visit to Petra, it does not give much benefit. Visiting Petra takes time, but I wouldn't want to spend more than two days on it. Getting to know Petra in depth will take several days, the area is so large. In many places you have to pay an entrance fee and you cannot get in with a Jordan pass. And most of the destinations included in the it can be skipped without a visit, for example Aqaba Castle. And on the other hand, at the baptismal site of Jesus, for example, you pay the entrance fee separately and it's not cheap either. Religious historical areas and churches require an entrance fee everywhere anyway. It's a bit special when you're used to places like that being free of entrance fees. Jordan is a great country and so are the people there!

Hi Pasi, I agree there is definitely pros and cons for the Jordan Pass. I mainly bought it as it was a Visa and entry to Petra. It provides a massive discount compared to buying the tickets separately. But, I do agree, that beyond that the attractions are limited. Jerash was great though and Amman had several attractions. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Sophie x

What Is The Jordan Pass & Why You Need It

Posted on Last updated: May 6, 2020

In December I had the opportunity to travel to Jordan, a beautiful country that had been on my travel bucket list for a very long time.

Before going my friend recommended I get the Jordan Pass, I had no idea what this was but it made my trip much easier and more pleasant.

If you’re planning to visit Jordan soon but aren’t sure whether to purchase the Jordan Pass, this guide explains it all.

In this review I cover everything including what is the Jordan Pass, how much does it cost, what attractions are included, and some simple maths to show you if the Jordan Pass is really worth it.

  • 1 What is the Jordan Pass?
  • 2 How much does the Jordan Pass cost?
  • 3 What attractions are included in the Jordan Pass?
  • 4 Is the Jordan Pass worth it?

What is the Jordan Pass?

The Jordan Pass is an initiative of the Jordan Ministry of Tourism to make it easier for tourists to travel around Jordan. It’s a unified ticket that combines a tourist visa fee and entry to 36 tourist sites across the country.

How much does the Jordan Pass cost?

There are three tiers to the Jordan Pass. They all include entry to 36 tourist sites in Jordan, your visa fee, digital brochures and maps you can download and entry to Petra.

The only difference between these is how many days access you get to Petra.

The Jordan Wanderer (70 JOD) gives you 1-day access to Petra, the Jordan Explorer (75 JOD) includes 2 days in Petra and the Jordan Expert (80 JOD) covers 3-day entry to Petra.

You have to purchase your Jordan Pass online before travelling to Jordan and you can buy it here .

What attractions are included in the Jordan Pass?

There are 36 sites included in the Jordan Pass. The most famous amongst them is obviously Petra.

Other popular attractions include the Citadel of Amman, the Wadi Rum desert , the archaeological site of Jerash, the Roman theatre in Amman and Kerak castle.

Click here to see the full list of attractions included in the Jordan Pass.

Is the Jordan Pass worth it?

I’ll do the maths for you. If you add up the cost of a visa on arrival to Jordan (40 JOD) and of a one-day entry ticket for Petra (50 JOD) if you purchase the basic Jordan Wanderer (70 JOD) you have already saved 20 JOD.

Add on top of that all the entry fees of the other 35 tourist attractions included in the Jordan Pass and you’ll find it’s well worth the money.

The more sites you visit, the more it’s worth it. Even if you were travelling to Jordan to see only Petra you would still save money with it.

You should get the Jordan Pass if:

– You’re planning on spending longer than three consecutive nights in Jordan

– You want to visit Petra

– You are eligible for visa on arrival

– You are travelling to Jordan alone and not as part of an organised or package holiday tour (these will sometimes cover the cost of visas so you should check if it’s still economically worth it)

– You want to feel cool when you land in Jordan and fly straight through the “Jordan Pass holders” queue at the border control without wasting time

– You want to save time and money

My experience using the Jordan Pass

Before purchasing the Jordan Pass I was a bit wary about it since there are lots of reviews online of people saying they had issues with the Jordan Pass.

These were either with the checkout processes on the website that resulted in them being charged hundreds of pounds for multiple failed transactions, or onsite in Jordan with the staff at tourist attractions not knowing about the Jordan Pass and charging people for entry anyway.

These reviews are all dated 2017 or earlier and are now not relevant anymore. The Jordanian Tourism Authority has had time to update its website and train its staff accordingly.

I travelled to Jordan in December 2018 and didn’t have any issues either purchasing the Jordan Pass online or using it for entry at any of the sites.

When you buy the Jordan Pass you receive a PDF copy that you can print out, but also a mobile version that you can just show on your phone.

Since I didn’t have a printer handy I just had the mobile version and showed that every time. Very often they didn’t even scan this, we just showed it at the entry and they waved us straight through.

You don’t need to print the Jordan Pass but if you’re concerned about your phone running out of batter and not being able to show it you might feel more at east having a printed version on you too.

One thing to note is that there are some popular attractions in Jordan that aren’t included in the Jordan Pass, such as Mount Nebo, Petra by Night or the Wadi Mujib.

Another important thing to be aware of is that the Jordanian tourist visa is valid for 1 month, but the Jordan Pass only gives you access to the tourist sights for 14 days from the first validation.

Two weeks are more than enough to visit Jordan, but if you’re planning on staying longer just plan your itinerary accordingly.

Overall, I had a very positive experience travelling around Jordan with the Jordan Pass. I visited a lot of the attractions included in the pass so it saved me a considerable amount of money.

Getting waved straight through at the entry of these sites without having to gather the right amount of JOD was very simple and made for a pleasant travel experience.

Hi Great - Great post! We are traveling to Jordan this week and purchased the Jordan Pass. Did you have any trouble showing the mobile version of the Jordan Pass to the immigration officer when you got your visa? I saw the Jordan Pass website recommended printing it out in case the officer cannot scan your phone, but you noted you were able to show your mobile version at all the tourist sites, so I'm wondering if it was also fine when getting your visa. Thanks!

Monday 28th of October 2019

Hi Megan, thanks, glad you found it useful! They do recommend printing it but I couldn't get access to a printer before flying so I just went with the mobile version. I personally didn't have issues anywhere (on the few occasions where they couldn't scan it they made a note of the Jordan Pass number / name of the person holding it). If you can get access to a printer it's safer to have the paper version but generally speaking you should be fine with the mobile one. Hope that helps! :)

Jordan Pass: What is It & Do You Really Need It?

If you’re traveling to Jordan, the Jordan Pass can be a huge money saver. We’ll explain exactly what the Jordan Pass covers, when and how to purchase, and if it’s worthwhile for your trip.

Photographing The Treasury in Petra Jordan

From journeys through the clay-toned desert of Wadi Rum to the ancient city of Petra carved into the dramatic rockface, Jordan is filled with some of the most fascinating attractions in the Middle East.

In an effort to boost tourism and entice travelers to visit the country, Jordan’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities came up with Jordan Pass— a single ticket that grants you access to over 40 iconic and historical sites in Jordan.

There are a few key things to keep in mind before you purchase a Jordan Pass to know if it’s right for you and your Jordan itinerary. Here we’re dishing out all the details you’ll want to know, including my personal experience with using Jordan Pass.

What is Jordan Pass?

Amman Citadel Jordan

The Jordan Pass is a sightseeing package provided by the Jordan Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities that bundles the cost and grants you access to over 40 attractions across the country, including world-famous Petra and some of the top things to do in Jordan .

It can be loosely compared to a CityPass in major cities like Seattle, NYC, and Chicago. The Jordan Pass, however, grants you access to UNESCO World Heritage sites, museums, castles and more, across the country.

As a pass holder, you’ll save time by bypassing the lines at ticket counters, save money with the visa on arrival fee waiver, and reduce your hassle with a digital QR code and free downloadable brochures.

What is the cost of a Jordan Pass?

The Monastery at Petra Jordan

The Jordan Pass comes in three different price tiers. The main difference between the options is the time you’ll be able to explore Petra (1, 2, or 3 days), one of the most famous UNESCO World Heritage sites in the country.

Jordan Wanderer – 70 JOD

  • 1 day visit to Petra
  • Free entry to over 40 tourist sites in Jordan
  • Free downloadable digital brochures
  • Waiving of tourist entry visa fees if you purchase the Jordan Pass before arrival to Jordan and stay a minimum of 3 nights (4 days)

Jordan Explorer – 75 JOD

(~$106 USD)

  • 2 consecutive visit days to Petra

Jordan Expert – 80 JOD

(~$113 USD)

  • 3 consecutive visit days to Petra

Is the Jordan Pass the same as a visa?

camels in Wadi Rum Desert Jordan

Jordan Pass is not the same as a visa. The Jordan Pass waives the visa on arrival fees if you purchase it before you enter the country and stay at least 3 nights/4 days. You won’t get the fees waived or a reimbursement if you purchase the pass after entering Jordan.

The price of a visa on arrival for Jordan is 40 JOD (~$56 USD)—almost half the cost of the pass. Getting this fee waived on top of entry into all the attractions means you’ll be saving a TON of money on your trip, so be sure to purchase in advance to reap the benefits.

The Jordan Pass is definitely worth your while to save time and money, as long as you are:

  • traveling independently, without a tour or group,
  • eligible for a visa on arrival,
  • planning to visit Petra*,
  • AND spending at least 3 nights in Jordan.

Even if you’re only visiting Petra for a single day and don’t plan to see any of the other sites included in the pass, it is still worth getting.

The entrance fee to Petra alone for just a single day visit is 50 JOD (~$70 USD). So that combined with your visa on arrival fee of 40 JOD means you’ll automatically save 20 JOD with the Jordan Wander pass, aka the single entry into Petra version of the Jordan Pass. After you’ve accounted for those costs, everything else included in the pass is essentially free.

Plus, with the pass, everything is purchased in advance so you have more time to immerse yourself in all the amazing tourist sites.

*The main cost of the Jordan Pass is an entry ticket to Petra, so if you’re not planning to visit Petra, the pass may not suit your needs.

Psst! We’ve got tons of tips and advice on how to visit Petra like a pro !

Read carefully if you’re visiting Aqaba

Aqaba, Jordan

Generally, most travelers enter Jordan through the Amman airport and pay the 40 JOD visa fee or present their Jordan Pass to get this entry fee waived. If you’re planning on visiting Jordan via this airport, that’s the process you’ll follow.

However, if you’re coming to Jordan during the months of October and November and entering through the King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba, your tourist entry fees will be waived.

A visa to get into Jordan will still be required, but you will not have to pay for it because this winter diving destination in Jordan is a designated part of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority .

If you’re flying into Amman and have Aqaba on your itinerary, you are still able to get your visa fees waived. After you arrive at the airport in Amman, you must get a stamp of proof within 48 hours of your arrival from the ‘Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority/ Directorate of Labour and Visa’ or at any of the police stations in Aqaba.

The main benefit of the Jordan Pass is the fact that it waives your tourist entry fee, so if the fee is already waived, the pass may not save you very much money and you may be better off paying for sites individually, even Petra and Wadi Rum.

But if you’re visiting Aqaba and at least seven or more sites (in addition to Petra and Wadi Rum) on the list of attractions, you’ll actually end up saving money, making the pass worth your while.

Our best advice: Be sure to map out the things you want to see ahead of time and add up the entrance fees to calculate if the pass would save you any money before you decide to purchase.

What does the Jordan Pass include?

Wadi Rum Desert Jordan

No matter which Jordan Pass you purchase, they all come with an impressive list of benefits:

  • Entry to 40+ tourist attractions around the Kingdom of Jordan. Some of the most famous sites you can visit with the pass are Petra, Wadi Rum, the ruins of Jerash, Amman’s Citadel, and Karak Castle.
  • Waiving your tourist entry fees (for visa on arrival) as long as you are eligible and spend at least 3 nights in Jordan.
  • After activation, your pass is good for two weeks in Jordan , giving you plenty of time to soak in the sights and take your time to see everything.
  • Because the pass covers your visa on arrival, you’ll be able to stay in Jordan for 30 days without the need for a visa .

The tourist attractions included in the Jordan Pass are:

  • Amman Citadel

What doesn’t the pass include?

Petra at Night Petra Jordan

While the Jordan Pass covers a ton of the main attractions in Jordan, it doesn’t cover absolutely everything, especially if you want to see more off the beaten path spots and don’t want to only see popular tourist attractions.

A lot of the lesser-visited attractions in Jordan are owned privately, not controlled by the government, or require an additional tour to see properly.

  • Petra by Night (17 JOD): This is a completely different experience than a daytime visit. Note a daytime ticket grants you access to Petra from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Dead Sea Day Pass (16 JOD): There are plenty of other places to experience the Dead Sea in Jordan (including for free). If you’re staying at a hotel in the area, a visit is included in your room rate. If you’re not staying nearby, you can opt to pay a hotel for access.
  • Wadi Rum jeep tours (15+ JOD) . This is an optional attraction while visiting Wadi Rum that must be booked separately from the entrance fee.
  • Bethany Beyond the Jordan (8-12 JOD). This is considered to be the historical site of the baptism of Jesus Christ.
  • Wadi Mujib (21 JOD). Note you can only visit this scenic slot canyon from April to September.

Who can get the Jordan Pass?

Amman Jordan street art

Whether or not you purchase a Jordan Pass, you’ll need a visa to get into the country. The Kingdom of Jordan has both “ restricted ” and “non-restricted” countries for visa purposes, and this can impact whether or not you are eligible to purchase a Jordan Pass since it waives the visa fee.

If you fall into the non-restricted travelers pool (which includes over 137 countries) you can purchase a Jordan Pass as long as you’re going to be in Jordan for at least 3 nights and 4 days.

A Jordan Pass may not be necessary or ideal for your trip if:

  • If you’re from South Africa, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Japan or Vatican City you aren’t required to pay for a tourist visa entry fee, so the pass isn’t needed.
  • If you’re from an Arabic country, or are of Arabic nationality, you’ll automatically get a discounted rate on some tourist sites. Some are as low as 1 JOD.
  • You’re on the list of restricted countries that aren’t able to purchase a Jordan Pass.

Note that children 12 and under get in for free, but they still need a visa, and an accompanied adult.

Where to purchase a Jordan Pass?

You must purchase your Jordan Pass online, before you enter the country in order to waive the visa on arrival fees.

There is only one way to purchase the pass and that is on the official Jordan Pass website . There is no way to purchase this pass in person or on any other website.

Other sites may advertise Jordan Passes for purchase but note they could be upcharging you or scamming you, so purchase from the official website to be safe.

The Treasury Petra Jordan

Once you purchase your Jordan Pass online, you’ll receive an email titled, “ Thank you for buying the Jordan Pass ” with a handful of different attachments. Note if you don’t receive this email you can download your pass using this link .

There are two attachments that are the most important to save/have on hand:

  • The mobile version of your pass (red-and-white colored).
  • A PDF version of your pass that lists more details and rules for your visit.

I recommend having both digital and physical copies of each pass on hand before you leave, and always double check that you can open the digital copies on your phone. Google Drive is a really easy and secure offline location to store important documents like these for easy access during your trip.

Activating your Jordan Pass

Once you purchase the pass, it’s valid for 12 months and activates at the first tourist attraction you’re scanned into , not on your arrival date or when you present it at the airport.

After your pass is activated, it’s good for two weeks and then it won’t work anymore.

At the Amman Airport

Once you arrive at the airport, you’ll see a designated line for Jordan Pass holders at Immigration. Get into this line and have your passport and Jordan Pass ready to present to the official. Another perk of having the Jordan Pass is that it gets you into the country faster!

When planning your trip, remember that the tourist entry fees are only waived with the Jordan Pass if you stay a minimum of 3 nights and 4 days. If you leave and don’t meet the required stay, you’ll be charged at the airport as you’re leaving.

It’s a good idea to have a physical copy of your Jordan Pass here in case your phone dies or you have technical difficulties with the QR code.

At the listed attractions

Present your mobile pass at the ticket offices to be scanned at each attraction. In most or all cases, primarily if you’re visiting Petra, you may be asked for a valid ID along with your pass, so keep them close together in case you need to present both.

My experience using Jordan Pass while traveling in Jordan

Wadi Rum Desert Jordan

As soon as I found out about the Jordan Pass, purchasing it for my trip was a no-brainer. I was going to spend 3 weeks in Jordan and visiting Petra was at the top of my bucket list!

After doing some research on how much time to spend in Petra, I decided to buy the Jordan Explorer Pass that includes 2 days in Petra. This way I would have two opportunities to see all the sights and take my time versus rushing to see everything in just one day.

I purchased my pass a couple weeks before I traveled to Jordan with standard processing, just to be sure it would arrive in time. I had read enough times that you must be sure to have the pass with you before you enter the country or it won’t waive your visa fees, so I didn’t want to take any chances.

My payment went through just fine. And if I remember correctly, I think my pass actually arrived in my inbox a mere hours after purchasing.

My arrival in the Amman airport was easy enough to figure out. Just before the visa on arrival queues there was a sign directing traffic to a separate line for Jordan Pass holders.

I would say  the majority of tourists on our flight from Dubai went towards the Jordan Pass holders line, so it was still a bit of a wait. However, the process for receiving my visa with the pass was very easy. I just had to show my QR code along with my passport and they stamped a visa in my passport.

I had no problems using the Jordan Pass at attractions in Amman. It was as easy as showing my QR code at the entrance ticket window.

In Petra the pass worked a bit differently. You actually have to make a trip to the ticket window at Petra (separate from the entrance) to show your pass and they will give you printed tickets for however many days you had pre-purchased on your pass.

You’ll need to keep an eye on these tickets as you’ll present one each day at the entrance. If you lose the paper tickets, they will not issue any reprints.

All in all, the Jordan Pass made my travels easier and definitely saved me money – I would highly recommend it.

There are some very important things you’ll want to know before purchasing a Jordan Pass, especially when and how you purchase it.

Can I buy the Jordan pass at the airport?

No. The only way to buy a Jordan Pass is on the official website .

Can I buy the Jordan pass when I get to Jordan?

Technically yes, but it isn’t recommended. The main perk of the pass is that it waives your tourist entry fee and you must present the pass in order to get the fee waived.

If you purchase the pass after you enter, it’s going to cost you more money since you’ll need to pay 40 JOD for entry and then at least 70 JOD for the cheapest tier Jordan Pass. So be sure to purchase in advance to save money .

When can I get my Jordan pass?

While my Jordan Pass arrived in my inbox within a few hours of me purchasing it, it’s best to purchase it about a week in advance of your departing flight in case you run into problems, because it tends to be a common issue.

If you’re buying your Jordan Pass at the last minute and run into problems, you may end up spending more money than you wanted.

At checkout, there are three different processing times you can choose from. The quicker you need your pass the more expensive it’s going to be:

  • Standard Processing (3 business days)
  • Rush Processing (maximum of 2 business days)
  • Super Rush Processing (1 business day)

How much money will the Jordan Pass save me?

Roman Theater Amman Jordan

The answer depends on a few main factors: whether or not you need a visa, how long you’re going to be in Jordan, and the number of attractions you’ll actually go and visit during your trip.

It’s estimated that if you purchase your pass before you arrive in Jordan, you can save upwards of $100 USD depending on what sites you visit and what tier pass you buy, but even if you only visit Petra, you will come out even.

Let’s do some math…

Other entry fees for popular recommended sites in Jordan:

  • Wadi Rum: 5 JOD for international visitors – free with Jordan Pass
  • Amman Citadel: 3 JOD for international visitors – free with Jordan Pass
  • Jerash: 10 JOD for international visitors – free with Jordan Pass
  • Roman Theater Amman: 2 JOD for international visitors – free with Jordan Pass
  • Amman Archeological Museum: 3 JOD for international visitors – free with Jordan Pass

That’s 23 JOD (~$32 USD) in savings if you hit everything recommended on my itinerary, on top of the 20 JOD (~$28 USD) you automatically save with the visa fees and Petra entrance bundle. The combined total savings would be 43 JOD (~$60 USD). However, there’s so much more included in the pass, your savings potential could be a lot more.

What happens if I lose my QR code?

Royal Tombs Petra Jordan

If you lose your QR code, you can go to the Jordan Pass website and download your ticket again. All you need to do is input your passport number and you’ll be able to retrieve your ticket.

It’s a good idea to have both digital and physical copies of your pass in case you lose one or your phone dies.

Can I visit the same attraction twice with my Jordan Pass?

No. The Jordan Pass gives you a one-time entry into all the included attractions, so you’ll have to pay an additional entrance fee if you want to visit somewhere twice.

The only attraction that has repeat entries is Petra, and that’s only if you purchase the Jordan Explorer or Jordan Expert with additional entries to Petra. Also keep in mind if you bought more than one entry into Petra, you must visit on consecutive days.

Who can I contact if I run into any problems with my Jordan Pass in Jordan?

If you end up having troubles with purchasing or accessing your pass, you can contact the Tourism police using this number: 117777.

Korn Ferry Tour

Jordan Spieth attends Korn Ferry Tour event, reflects on early days as pro

Change Text Size

Jordan Spieth attended a Korn Ferry Tour event as a fan Wednesday. Yes, that Jordan Spieth.

Spieth made an appearance at the Veritex Bank Championship in his home Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, visiting with friends who competed in the pro-am at Texas Rangers Golf Club. Spieth’s buddies played nine holes with Matt McCarty and nine holes with Jamie Lovemark (Spieth’s close friend Richie Sapp, a groomsman in Spieth’s wedding, is the event’s tournament director).

Spieth, a three-time major champion, spent a brief period on the Korn Ferry Tour in his formative years, and he’s keenly aware of the game’s fine line between glory and the grind. Wednesday offered a chance to remember those days, and to reminisce on the vast depth in professional golf.

“These guys, they’re grinding,” Spieth said Wednesday. “They’re sometimes playing seven, eight weeks in a row … and all of a sudden they go on a run and they’re Scotite Scheffler. It’s where it all comes from.”

(This depth was further exemplified Thursday, when 24-year-old Frankie Capan III carded an opening-round 58 at Texas Rangers Golf Club, which wasn’t even the Korn Ferry Tour’s low round of the year. Cristobal Del Solar shot an opening-round 57 at the Astara Golf Championship presented by Mastercard in February.)

Spieth’s magical 2013 season included back-to-back top-10 finishes at the Korn Ferry Tour's The Panama Championship (T7) and Astara Golf Championship presented by Mastercard (T4). He then faced a decision point: continue on the Korn Ferry Tour, or head to the PGA TOUR’s Puerto Rico Open, into which he had received a sponsor exemption.

Spieth headed to Puerto Rico and finished second to earn a spot in the Valspar Championship, where he finished seventh to earn Special Temporary Membership on TOUR. The rest was history – he won the John Deere Classic later that summer to activate full membership, represented the United States in the Presidents Cup that fall and proceeded to global golf superstardom.

That year included a stint on the Korn Ferry Tour, which resonates to this day. (So much so, that he intended to track the competition as it unfolded at Texas Rangers GC.)

“Since I’m off this week, it will be fun (after) seeing this place, meeting the couple guys, looking this week on the app and seeing how they’re doing," Spieth said Wednesday. "Hearing a couple of the stories … Matt (McCarty), I know he was close last year and he’s doing pretty well this year so far, kind of right on the bubble.”

The top 30 on the season-ending Korn Ferry Tour Points List will earn 2025 PGA TOUR membership, joining Spieth at the game’s highest level. He’ll know what it took to get there.

Jordan Spieth, Will Zalatoris highlight field for PGA Tour's 2024 CJ Cup Byron Nelson

The PGA Tour is heading back to Texas.

The CJ Cup Byron Nelson is set to begin next week at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, outside of Dallas. The tournament, formerly sponsored by AT&T, is the third of four stops in the Lone Star State for the Tour in 2024, with the final being the Charles Schwab Challenge in May.

Dallas residents Jordan Spieth, Tom Kim and Will Zalatoris will be in the field, as will defending champion Jason Day, who shot 9-under 63 on Sunday a year ago to claim his first title in more than five years. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who was in the field last year, is not this year as he and wife Meredith await the birth of their first child.

Here's a look at the full field for the 2024 CJ Cup Byson Nelson, which will have a field of 156, a total purse of $9.5 million and a first-place-prize of $1.71 million:

2024 RBC Heritage live stream, TV schedule, how to watch online, channel, tee times, radio, golf coverage

There was no rest for the weary with a signature event on tap one week after the masters.

rbc-heritage-signage-2023-g.jpg

Players have made the short trip from Augusta, Georgia, to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, for the 2024 RBC Heritage. In total, 69 golfers teed it up on Harbour Town Golf Links as yet another signature event on the PGA Tour's playing calendar rolls on.

Unlike the Genesis Invitational or Arnold Palmer Invitational, the RBC Heritage does not feature a 36-hole cut, meaning the entirety of the field will be around for the weekend. That is music to the ears to those who missed out on the weekend action at the Masters, including the likes of Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Wyndham Clark and Brian Harman.

Spieth, the 2022 champion, looks to kickstart his season after a disappointing showing at Augusta National. He is no stranger to bouncing back at the RBC Heritage, following a missed cut at the year's first major championship with a win a week later in Hilton Head. He's not in contention to win this tournament, but he's certainly playing better than he did last week.

This tournament, like the rest on the PGA Tour these days, goes through Scottie Scheffler. The world No. 1 aims to collect his fourth trophy in his last five tournaments, and he holds the 54-hole lead entering the final day of play. Fresh off slipping on his second green jacket, Scheffler has widened the gap between him and the rest of the world and shows no signs of slowing down. Collin Morikawa and Ludvig Åberg -- just as they did at the Masters -- are breathing down Scheffler's neck on Sunday.

Green Bay Packers pick Arizona OL Jordan Morgan in Round 1 of 2024 NFL draft. What to know

The Green Bay Packers drafted Arizona offensive lineman Jordan Morgan with the No. 25 pick in the 2024 NFL draft . Here’s what to know about Morgan, who was named Associated Press First-Team for the Pac-12 in 2023.

Jordan Morgan scouting report

Morgan might be the forgotten man among this year's bevy of potential first-round offensive linemen, but his fleet feet and impressive knowhow position him as a strong candidate to make the Day 1 cut. Although some teams could be inclined to move him to guard, Morgan shows the effectiveness in space to stick at left tackle with some additional work. — Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz

Jordan Morgan height, weight

Morgan, who is from Marana, Arizona and went to Marana High School, is 6-foot-5 and 311-pounds.

NFL DRAFT HUB: Latest NFL Draft mock drafts, news, live picks, grades and analysis.

Jordan Morgan college stats

Morgan appeared in all 12 games for the Wildcats last season, allowing just two sacks in 787 snaps. The Wildcats had the fifth best red zone offense in college football, converting 93% of the time.

Jordan Morgan highlights

Morgan played in 33 games over his last three seasons with the Wildcats. He led the team in total blocking grade (84.3), according to ProFootballFocus.

Jordan Morgan NFL combine results

Morgan clocked a 5.04 40 with a 1.7 10-yard split. He recorded a 28-inch vertical and a 9-foot, 2-inch broad jump.

Jordan Love a hot topic on social media during quarterback portion of NFL draft

jordan pass tour

For those who are a fan of the quarterback position, hopefully you tuned into the NFL draft Thursday night.

Apparently general managers couldn't pass up on selecting six signal callers within the first 12 picks.

As expected, the Chicago Bears selected USC's Caleb Williams with the No. 1 pick and the Minnesota Vikings traded up and took Michigan's J.J. McCarthy with the No. 10 pick.

With a pair of NFC North rivals both adding a pair of future starting quarterbacks, Green Bay Packers fans immediately chimed in with some thoughts.

But that wasn't the main reason Love's name was being typed early and often on draft night. It was because of another quarterback that was taken with the No. 8 pick.

Michael Penix draft selection compared to Packers choosing Love

When Michael Penix was selected by the Atlanta Falcons at No. 8, the move drew immediate comparisons to when the Packers selected Love in the 2021 draft. Why? Because like Love, Penix won't be pushed to start in his first season with veteran Kirk Cousins taking the snaps in Atlanta.

And of course, somehow Aaron Rodgers always sneaks in the conversation when Love is involved.

Last month, I had the opportunity to travel to Jordan with my peers from Georgetown University. During our visit, we explored iconic places including but not limited to Petra, the Amman Citadel, the Baptismal Site in the Jordan River, and the Dead Sea. We also immersed ourselves in interreligious dialogue with the local community by engaging with universities, schools, and refugee camps. While the trip was mostly based on Christian-Muslim interfaith dialogue, experiences such as this one allowed us to explore local customs and traditions beyond the classroom setting. However, if there’s anything I would like to highlight is that our time in Jordan was made even more enjoyable thanks to the wonderful guidance provided by Zaid Tours and Travel. Our tour guide, Bassam, was AMAZING! His kindness and great knowledge could be seen throughout the different moments with him. Thanks to Zaid Tours and to the wonderful people of Jordan for such a beautiful and blessed journey. Read more Written March 28, 2024

  • kwankewl 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Unforgetable Wadi Rum, 1916 train ride and wonderful Basel and Zaid Tours Safinaz Al-Nammari was very responsive and patient with my many questions. Basel was my driver and he made sure I had plenty of time to arrive at Wadi Rum and have my 4-hour Jeep tour in time for the free train ride which was fantastic and worth the time to see it. I was able to climb the Um Fruth Rock Bridge. Basel's English is excellent and he is a safe driver and I would highly recommend him. It is a pity that the Gaza war has decreased the number of tourists to Jordan and this was Basel's fifth trip since the war started. Zaid Tours and Travel is highly recommended. • carolinesO2750SV 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles One for the bucket list We had an unforgettable experience seeing all of Jordan’s highlights through Zaid’s 4 night tour. Zaid tours made our whole trip to Jordan seamless, convenient and well organised. We were initially greeted at the airport in customs to arrange our visa exemption and were then escorted to our lovely driver for the following days; Mahmoud. He spoke English very well, was genuine, lovely and treated us as if we were his daughters. Our 5 star accommodation at each destination lived up to the hype, with breakfast and dinners included. The food selection was traditional, delicious and of high quality. Our private tour guide Ana’s at Petra was exceptional and passionately took footage for us to remember this experience. Wadi Rum was out of this world, our ufo experience was one to tick off the bucket list. Quasey was very bubbly and had a great sense of humour. We had a wonderful jeep tour with more great photos. Floating in the Dead Sea was surreal. Most of all we felt very safe at all times! We would highly recommend this tour if you want to see Jordan’s best sites. Just remember to exchange cash for tips! The people, hotels, food, excursions and of course our guide Mahmoud. Mahmoud was knowledgable, patient (we were always a bit late meeting him) and always in touch with us. He took very good care of us every single day. His car was super comfortable- I had the best naps in that car! And he always had water and he even gifted me with some delicious biscuits after I said they were my favourite.I will definitely come back to Jordan and ask him to guide us again! Please don’t let the terrible situation in the neighbouring countries stop you from travelling to Jordan. The country is super safe and welcoming and they need tourism. I’ve never seen so much beauty like I saw there. Stunning. Go, go , go and ask for Mahmoud!!!! Read more Written February 9, 2024

  • SteenEvans 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Amazing private tour w Hassan Alqurnih I want to write to thank you ever so much for my trip in Jordan. Time flies, I was visiting your amazing country back in beginning/mid November. I had bought a return flight and was not sure how to progress from there. I have always in the past organised the travel around myself (hire car/public transport), booked the hotels and planned where to go and visit. However, I asked Zaid Tours and Travel to give me a quote and suggest an itinerary for the nearly 2 weeks I was going to be in Jordan. I decided to have a driver instead of driving around myself as I wanted to see as much as possible and enjoy the scenery, this was the best decision ever. Zaid came back with a very full and excellent itinerary at a very good price, this was for entry to all sites, private driver around everywhere and all hotels booked as well as organising tour guides at some places. A special thanks goes to my driver Hassan Alqurnih, who made an already amazing trip, a special one. He went above and beyond what he needed to do, even down to my favourite Jordanian coffee which he had ready and we shared in the morning before the days adventure. He was the driver, the tour guide, the organizer and more importantly, a friend. For sure he was the one who made the trip very special and felling very personalised. I felt in safe hands, he for sure knows the whole of Jordan and the people like the back of his hand. He was very flexible, from when we met in the morning, for instance extra early at Petra, changed some of the itinerary, have a longer time at the Dead-sea. Also to the point that my return flight was cancelled and I therefore had an extra day, he organised I stayed at the same hotel in Amman, suggested a day trip out and even took me to the airport a 4am. During my trip I got to know the country, it’s culture and people well, through Hassan. He took me to some of the places he liked to eat with his friends and family, these were my best meals and through his courtesy and knowledge, I also felt I got an insight into Jordan and it’s people. We had many of conversation about the tourist sights but also culture, traditions, people, religion and the ongoing conflict in Gaza. He gave me an amazing impression of a wonderful people and their country. Hassan Alqurnih and his family will always be more than welcome to stay at our place if they ever comes to Europa. I cannot recommend Hassan enough, he made my trip what it was and I feel I left as an ambassador for the country and cannot recommend it enough. Read more Written January 31, 2024
  • adrianlS7970BW 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Fantastic private tour of Jordan with Mundher Had an amazing time in Jordan on a private tour visiting Amman, Petra, Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea. Mundher, our guide and driver was exceptional, very helpful, always punctual and went the extra mile to assist us with making reservations, pointing out points of interest and scenic spots as well as accommodating our needs. The only downside was that some of the hotels that were booked for us (Landmark in Amman / Crowne Plaza at Dead Sea) were quite dated and did not quite meet expectations for a 5 star hotel. For example, there was no air conditioning in the rooms at Landmark and the non-smoking rooms smelled like cigarettes. Other than that, a great experience and we all had an enjoyable time. • diditthebutler 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles A Very Well-Spent Three Hours in Amman I found myself with several hours spare one evening. So I booked the Private Panoramic Tour of Amman with Local Lunch or Dinner. Boy am I glad I did. Although most of the ancient sites were closed for the day, I got to see some of them from the outside. But I was still able to visit an incredible mosque, the Roman amphitheater, Rainbow Street, and the bustling and super fun street market. I had some of the best shawerma I've had in years, and some kind of delicious hot dessert made from breaded goat cheese. My guide Basel was knowledgeable, interesting, and great fun to talk with. I highly recommend this tour. Read more Written December 16, 2023
  • Dave_SusanVienna_VA 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Great tour of Jordan First, leave your fears at home since Jordan is very safe and the people friendly. Our guide/driver was Mahmoud Issa and we cannot say enough good things about him. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. From Amman Airport we drove down to Petra where we spent the night. The following day we toured Petra with a very knowledgeable local guide that Mahmoud picked out for us. We then went to Wad Rum for the next night at the Sun City Camp where we took a jeep tour of the wadi before dinner. The following day, we headed to the Ma'in hot springs and after a soak went on to the Dead Sea for a dip in the sea and to spend the night. The last day was a visit to Mt. Nebo and Madaba to see the mosaic production and a church with ancient mosaic floors (while we looked in the church, Mahmoud went to a local falafel stand and came back with the best Falafels and shwarma). Sadly, it was our last day with Mahmoud for the following day it was off to the airport to head home. Read more Written November 23, 2023
