Harry Hill Announces Brand New Live Tour For 2022

Tickets go on general sale from 10am on Friday 17th December.

Multi-award-winning comedian Harry Hill has announced a brand new tour for 2022, Pedigree Fun, beginning in Guildford on 6th October 2022. Tickets go on general sale from 10am on Friday 17th December, available from www.ticketmaster.co.uk and www.harryhilltour.com .

Pedigree Fun sees Harry triumphantly return with his first solo tour since the critically acclaimed sell-out tour Sausage Time in 2013, with brand new jokes in an all-singing, all-dancing, one-man-spectacular. Audiences will meet Harry's new baby elephant, Sarah, and Ian, The Information Worm.

Harry Hill says: "I hadn't realised how much I missed performing live until lockdown stopped me from doing it. It's great to be going back on stage and the good news is I am planning a very silly show."

And yes, Harry will also be joined by Stouffer the Cat (his famous sidekick) who added: "What can I tell you? When Harry calls you say yes - end of!"

With three BAFTAs, eight British Comedy Awards and a Perrier Best Newcomer Award to his name so far, comedian, presenter and author Harry Hill is one of the UK's best-loved, most respected and inventive entertainers. Harry was born in Woking in 1964, grew up in Kent and lived as a teenager in Hong Kong. He trained as a doctor, holds a medical degree from the University of London, and is still registered as a medical practitioner.

The best gauge of a comedy show is how much your face hurts, how soon into the show it starts hurting, and how many involuntary snorts (and a bonus point if the first snort is in the first 10 minutes).

In the case of Harry Hill's new show Pedigree Fun, which stopped at the Lowry last night (Jan 22), the scores were: A lot, and I had to take my glasses off a few times; about five minutes; and about five or six (plus one bonus point). It was an excellent start. The national treasure behind TV Burp, You've Been Framed ('15 years of free money!') and the host of Junior Bake Off has been touring this show since October last year, his first major tour since lockdown, and by this stage it's like a well oiled, if demented machine.

It's the breadth he covers which is so dizzying. Where else would you get actual clowns on the loose in the crowd, hedgehogs, giant socks, pugs on motorbikes, making a robotics engineer called Dave dress as a baby elephant, old fashioned ventriloquist dummies vomiting shaving foam, old fashioned music hall style dance routines and Coleridge all in one place.

While his TV work these days manages the impossible task of being both funny and broad, the live shows have always pushed things to the edges, tempering the silliness and whimsy with a pleasing edge of darkness here and there. There are gags about Savile, Yewtree-snared stars of the 70s, Bill Gates conspiracies, Hitler and Jeffrey Epstein. But then there's also a bit where he's trying and failing to get his microphone into the stand which has the audience in pieces. That he can makes these things co-exist in the same show is superbly impressive. And all comics does callbacks now – where you plant references throughout a set and circle back to them later. Harry does callbacks to tours and performances he did years – in some cases decades – ago.

OK, some things don't quite land as they should. A slightly subdued Sunday night audience doesn't hurl themselves quite as fully as necessary into a recurring participation game where cakes, breads, people and animals are categorised into whether they're a classic 'tray bake' or a 'tear and share', a nod to the Bake Off, all to the tune to Grandstand.

It's still funny, but on the right night in the right place with the right audience, it might have been riotous. But nonetheless, Britain's very daftest man was an absolute delight.

A rock opera about Labour Prime Minister Tony Blair is coming to Salford

TONY! has been created by Harry Hill and Steve Brown and is heading to the Lowry theatre in October.

In the latest edition of things nobody asked for but we got anyway, an opera about the life of Tony Blair co-written by comedian Harry Hill is heading to the Lowry Theatre in Salford this October.

Tony Blair served as Prime Minister of the UK for a decade from 1997-2007 after the largest landslide general election victory in history. His “Cool Britannia” party at Number 10 shortly after becoming Prime Minister was famously attended by stars including Noel Gallagher and his campaign theme tune was Things Can Only Get Better by D:REAM whose keyboard player was the now even more famous physicist Brian Cox. The charismatic Blair was one of the most popular politicians in UK history before dramatically falling from grace due to his involvement in the Iraq war and becoming one of the most unpopular figures in UK history. There’s certainly a lot of story to pack into a Tony Blair opera.

Calling itself “a reckless reappraisal of the life of former Ugly Rumours front man and Britain’s first pop Prime Minister”, TONY! [The Tony Blair Rock Opera] will tour the UK this autumn. It lands at The Lowry in Salford from Monday 2to Saturday 7 October, coinciding with The Conservative Party Conference in Manchester.

According the the press release: “The musical tells the story of how one man went from peace-loving, long-haired hippy and would-be pop star to warmongering multimillionaire in just a couple of decades”. 

Cherie Blair, Princess Diana, John Prescott, Peter Mandelson, Alastair Campbell, Osama bin Laden, George W Bush, Saddam Hussein and Gordon Brown also appear in the play, which we are expecting to be irreverent, funny and outrageous.

Harry Hill and Steve Brown said, “It’s a show for Tony Lovers and Haters everywhere – and everyone in between – don’t expect a history lesson – in our world Tony’s born singing and dancing, Saddam Hussein is played as Groucho Marx and Gordon Brown occasionally turns into the Incredible Hulk – let’s just say all the facts are there… but not necessarily as they occurred!”

Multiple award-winning comedian, presenter and author Harry Hill has been one of the UK’s most respected and inventive entertainers for nearly 30 years.

Starting with his own ingenious comedy series on BBC Two and Channel 4, he went on to create the hit, multi award-winning ITV series Harry Hill’s TV Burp, which ran for 10 years. More recently, he has created and starred in three series of ITV’s Harry Hill’s Alien Fun Capsule, BBC Two’s Harry Hill’s World of TV, has been the longstanding voice of ITV’s You’ve Been Framed, and is the presenter of Channel 4’s Junior Bake Off.

As an author, he has written several best-selling joke books and, amongst others, the popular children’s series Matt Millz. He is also an artist and has shown his work at the Royal Academy. He recently completed a sell-out live tour, Pedigree Fun, and, with long-term collaborator Steve Brown, created Tony! [The Tony Blair Rock Opera], which enjoyed a critically acclaimed, sell-out run at London’s Park Theatre, and is embarking on a UK tour later this year.

Harry has won the Perrier Best Newcomer Award, eight British Comedy Awards, three BAFTAs and a Level 4 BAGA Gymnastics Award (forward roll, cartwheel, crab and roundoff).

PGA Tour star Shane Lowry made a touching gesture to his former school despite being in action at the Masters.

The 2019 Open champion is currently in action at Augusta National at the first major championship of the year.

27-year-old Lowry will be hoping to card a better second round after a +1 start at the iconic golf course in Georgia.

But ahead of his opening round yesterday the he generously donated a signed flag from the 2023 Ryder Cup to his old school in Clara, County Offaly, Scoil Phroinsiais Naofa Clara.

Lowry was one of the stars as Luke Donald's Team Europe beat America in Marco Simone last year.

Although not on hand - his father, Brendan, who is a former Offaly football star was at the school on behalf of his son with the cool gift, which is for a fundraiser.

The flag is currently being auctioned off with the proceeds going to be used to develop an outside play area for the school's Suaimhneas ASD class.

The school also called on all parents, former students and patrons to support the cause .

Currently the highest bid sits a just under a whopping Є3,000.

Meanwhile, World number 37  Lowry came into form  during the last-three PGA Tour events on the Florida Swing with a T4 at PGA National, a third at Bay Hill and a T19 at TPC Sawgrass.

The Irish golfer missed the cut on his first visit to the iconic tournament in 2015 but his record has drastically improved at Augusta National.

But Lowry now has top 25s in the last four Masters with a T3 and a T16 in the last two.

Lowry is currently in action alongside Akshay Bhatia and JT Poston.

This short Moscow tour will give you a true taste of the history, culture and incomparable urban vibe that define one of the world’s largest metropolises. In just three days, this Moscow itinerary takes in all the most iconic sights of this attraction-packed destination. After two and half days getting acquainted with the city, we’ve set time aside for you to explore Moscow your way and discover your own favourite hang-outs in a city overflowing with hidden treasures

3-Day Moscow Tour Highlights:

• Panoramic Tour of Moscow: See Moscow beyond the postcard images on a private excursion by car through the city streets including a drive along the banks of the Moskva River. Visit the famous Bolshoi Theatre, pass by Gorky Park and the Novodevichy Convent, and admire the city from on high at the Sparrow Hill observation platform.
• Moscow Historical City Centre Guided Walking Tour : Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of one of the world’s biggest metropolises and discover local haunts on foot, including the Red Square, the Kremlin and the multi-coloured domes of St Basil’s Cathedral.
• Armory Chamber tour: Explore the endless treasures of this unique museum, displaying the wealth accumulated by Russian rulers from the 12th century until the October Revolution of 1917. Walking through the exhibition halls is a journey through the centuries.
• Moscow Metro Tour : Go deep underground on a subway tour of the famous Moscow metro. The world’s deepest metro system is renowned for its palatial, art-adorned stations, complete with marble columns and chandeliers.

On your first day, you’ll be treated to a panoramic, drive-by tour of Moscow to get a feel for the immense scale of one of the world’s most rapidly developing urban centres. The city’s history unfolds in real-time as you pass lavish imperial mansions, solemn Soviet structures and luxurious modern shopping centres.

Day two kicks off exploring Moscow’s historic centre on foot, followed by a tour of the Kremlin, the seat of Russian power and political intrigue for centuries. Stand in the Red Square, surrounded by the stunning architecture as you hear stories of the people and events behind many of Moscow’s most iconic landmarks.

On your final day, we’ll head beneath the city for a tour of the Moscow Metro and its famously ornate underground stations. Art lovers should hit up one of Moscow’s many world-class galleries such as the Tretyakov State Gallery, the Pushkin Museum or Garage, Moscow’s cutting-edge contemporary art museum. History fans can follow a Soviet trail through the city including Stalin’s Bunker, while those seeking a more indulgent experience can browse trendy neighbourhoods like Kitay Gorod or shop for everything from fashion to kitsch souvenirs at the enchanting Izmaylovo Flea Market. Foodies can head to one of the countless speciality stores sampling vodka, caviar and chocolate.

Day 1 Panoramic city tour

Welcome to the glorious capital of Russia, Moscow! You’ll be met by your driver at the airport and taken to your centrally located hotel.

After check-in and rest, meet your private guide at the hotel lobby for a comprehensive tour of Moscow by car. Visit the starkly contrasting Theatre Square to see the stunning Bolshoi Theatre, pass Tverskaya Street, the city’s main boulevard and home to the landmark Yeleseyevskiy Grocery Store.

You’ll enjoy a panoramic drive along the Moskva River, where a huge, controversial state of Peter the Great was erected. Pass by the legendary Gorky Park and the White House before a stop at the architecturally stunning Novodevichy Convent, and the observation platform at Sparrow Hills, for a bird’s eye view over this staggering megalopolis.

Day 2 Red Square and Kremlin

After breakfast at the hotel, your guide will take you on a walking tour of the historical city centre. Stroll through the Red Square, the hub of cultural life in Moscow, with its elaborate ‘stone flower’ fountain and fantasy-like St Basil’s Cathedral – a postcard-perfect symbol of the nation. Admire the grandiose façade of GUM, the city’s most luxurious shopping centre, and visit Alexander’s Garden, with its eternal flame and the chance to watch a changing of the guards.

Break for lunch before continuing on a tour of the Kremlin and Armoury Chamber, famous of its collection of tsarist fashion, with regalia such as jewel-encrusted crowns, orbs and sceptres as well as arms and armour, exotic gifts from the leaders of faraway lands, and an illustrious case of Imperial Faberge eggs.

As an option* spend an evening on a sumptuous dinner cruise, taking in the stunning sights and city lights of this mesmerising metropolis by night.

Day 3 Metro and Arbat Street

Start a day with a tour of Metro, stopping on the way to marvel at some of the most elaborately decorated stations of the world-famous Moscow subway system. Take a stroll along Old Arbat street - the most famous street in Moscow. Through the centuries Arbat used to be one of the most bohemian places in Moscow. Today Arbat is a promenade full of small cozy cafes and street life.

The afternoon is free for you to either enjoy the rest of the day on your own or choose among optional excursions to explore more of Moscow. Visit the Tretyakov Gallery or Pushkin State Museum to admire Russian art. Join locals for a stroll at the Gorky or VDNH park.

Visit beautiful Kolomeskoye Estate or Izmailovo Kremlin, or spend a day exploring the beautiful city of the Golden Ring (Russian province) - Sergiev Posad. In the evening you will be transferred to the airport for your departure to your next destination.
