How to plan a trip to Kashmir? For this, there are a lot of factors that you will have to consider like how to reach, where to stay, what to see, things to do, what to pack, how much will it cost, itinerary planning, etc. All of these questions cannot be answered in a single post if you truly want it to be detailed.

I have visited Kashmir a few times and have written several detailed articles that can be of help to everyone planning a trip. This information is scattered in several posts and getting the details that you need can be a little time-consuming.

Best Time to Visit Kashmir

When is the best time to visit Kashmir? There is actually no straight answer to this question because it will depend on what kind of trip you were looking forward to.

If you want to see snow, January and February are ideal times. If you want to see lush green views, September will be the best time. For a honeymoon trip, I will recommend April and September.

If you want to see flowers and the Tulip Garden, you should plan for April. If you want to see Apple orchards, August and September is the best time to go.

For photography, a trip in the post-monsoon season will be best. For budget travelers, August and November are good times to go.

Mobile Network and Data Connectivity

BSNL has the widest network in Kashmir but Airtel is better in terms of the quality of the network. Jio works decently well but the services of Vodafone and Idea are not that great.

The important thing that you should know is that only postpaid connections work in the valley. Irrespective of which network you were on, your phone will be dead as soon as you enter Kashmir if it was a prepaid connection.

But if it was a postpaid phone, you would have good reception and data connectivity in tourist destinations like Srinagar, Gulmarg, Sonamarg, and Pahalgam. If you went a little offbeat, your phone may or may not work depending on the service provider.

Kashmir Trip Cost

How much will a Kashmir trip cost? This will depend on a lot of factors like the number of travelers, duration of the trip, mode of commute, personal preferences, etc. But with that being said, there is still an average per-person cost that can be calculated.

Take a look at this post – How to Calculate the Total Cost of Kashmir Trip . While I cannot give you the exact cost of the Kashmir trip, I can still give you an idea of how you can calculate your own Kashmir trip budget. That is the information that I covered in this article.

Using the numbers below, you will get a fairly good estimate of how much you will end up spending in the valley. These are some of the minimum expenditures that you will end up incurring for accommodation, taxi, food, shopping, etc.

The next important question will be related to your packing. The clothes that you need for visiting Kashmir will vary according to the season and month of your trip. It will also depend on the places you have in mind to visit and your mode of commute as well.

Places to Visit in Kashmir

Now let us take a look at the tourist destinations in Kashmir, places that you just cannot afford to miss. These are the destinations that will become the very highlight of your journey.

I am adding Srinagar first to the list because that is where you will have to go first. Srinagar will be your base to explore the beautiful valleys of Kashmir.

But is it just that? The answer is no.  It is not just a base to explore Kashmir but rather a place that deserves to be explored, a place of both natural and man-made beauty.

Shah Jahan a long time ago aptly called Kashmir the paradise on earth, and Srinagar is the heart of that paradise. With its serene blue lakes and magnificent gardens ringed by an Arc of Majestic Himalayas, it is a picture-perfect town that looks straight out of a painting.

There is just so much to see here and so much to do. This I believe is the very reason that despite all the unrest and tensions, Srinagar continues to remain one of the most visited tourist destinations in our country.

Gulmarg in my opinion is the biggest tourist attraction in Kashmir. Known as the meadow of flowers, it is a heavenly place to tread in that offers mesmerizing landscapes and an enthralling possibility of various adventure activities.

Such is the beauty of this tiny hamlet that it attracts people from all over the country throughout the year. It is possibly one of those destinations where the tourist season never ends.

From families to adventure enthusiasts, Gulmarg has a lot to offer everyone. It not only draws tourists from other parts of the country but also is a favorite weekend getaway for the local Kashmiris as well.

The next destination that you must visit during your Kashmir trip is Sonamarg. The place is easily accessible, remains open for most of the year, has plenty of hotels, offers amazing views, and is perfect for all kinds of trips.

Public transport is also easily available. There is a daily bus between Srinagar and Sonamarg. Other than that, shared cabs also travel on the route regularly.

The name Pahalgam needs no introduction. It is one of the most visited destinations of Kashmir, one that receives tourists all year long. No trip to Kashmir is complete unless Pahalgam is a part of the itinerary.

Located at a distance of about 100 kilometers from Srinagar, Pahalgam is best known for its awe-inspiring vistas, lush green meadows, dense forests, and pristine waters. The place is also noted for the annual pilgrimage to the shrine Amarnath Yatra that starts here in July and August.

But in my opinion, the actual fun of visiting Pahalgam is in the winter season. This is when the natural beauty of this place is at its best. Take a look at the video below to know what I am talking about.

Drung Waterfall

Drung Waterfall, also known as Drang Waterfall or Durung Waterfall, is a destination that must find a place in your itinerary if you are planning a winter trip to Kashmir. It may not be that large in size but the sight that it presents in the winter season is truly majestic and is sure to charm you off your feet.

As the temperature in the valley drops, the water of this fall starts to freeze. By early January, the entire face of the mountain that it falls from is covered by a thick layer of ice. The water still continues to flow down but is surrounded by huge icicles and snow.

The waterfall is located about 42 kilometers from Srinagar and 16 kilometers from Gulmarg. It remains accessible for all 12 months and can easily be included in your trip to Gulmarg. You can visit Drung at any time of the year but it is in the winter season when the waterfall is truly at its best.

Gurez Valley

Gurez Valley is one of the least explored regions of Kashmir and the one that can truly be called an offbeat destination. It is a place of high scenic beauty that does not really get the attention that it truly deserves. The vistas and the natural beauty of the mountains that you see here are very different than what you will see elsewhere.

Usually, when you talk about visiting Kashmir, it is mostly 4 places that come to mind – Srinagar, Gulmarg, Sonamarg, and Pahalgam. Even Srinagar just acts as a base to explore the other three places.

But Kashmir is so much more. There are so many other places here that will leave you mesmerized if visited. Gurez is one such destination that I will highly recommend that you find a place for in your travel plans.

Let us now take a look at some offbeat destinations that do not find a place in everyone’s itinerary but are definitely worth visiting.

Yusmarg is located at a distance of about 50 kilometers from Srinagar in the Badgam district of Kashmir. At an altitude of 2,396 meters (7,861 ft), it is an alpine valley surrounded by snow-capped mountains and meadows of Pine and Fir.

It is one of those places in Kashmir that are immensely beautiful but do not get the attention that they rightfully deserve. But for someone wanting to go offbeat and stay away from the crowd, Yousmarg is perfect.

Doodhpathri

Doodhpathri is a small hill station in Kashmir. It lies in a bowl-shaped alpine valley surrounded by snow-clad mountains and meadows of Pine Fir and Deodar. It sits at an altitude of 2,730 meters (8,957 ft) above sea level and receives heavy snowfall in the winter season.

The region does not have all-year road connectivity yet and in the months of peak winter, it can get very difficult to reach here. For the rest of the year though, a trip to Doodhpathri can actually be made in less than half a day.

To be honest, it is not yet a hill station as there is little to no development in the region. What you see is nature in its raw form. There are just a few houses of the local shepherds and that is the only sign of civilization that you will see here.

The area is largely unexplored and receives very little tourism. However, efforts are being made by the authorities to develop it as a tourist destination. Mughal Road

Not many people would know about the Mughal Road. Srinagar Jammu National Highway, also known as NH44, is often considered to be the only road connecting the cities of Jammu and Srinagar.

It is true that it is indeed a better maintained, wider, more traveled upon, and shorter way to travel between the two places but it is definitely not the only one.

There actually exists another route that is far more scenic, less crowded, takes you through some internal parts of Kashmir, and has existed for far longer than the regular NH44 highway. Yes, I am talking about the historical Mughal road.

This route is the alternate way to travel between Jammu and Srinagar and to reach some internal areas of Kashmir like the town of Rajouri. It is also a very scenic route that definitely deserves to be explored.

Aharbal Waterfall

Aharbal Waterfall is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Kashmir. It is also the most easily accessible one and yet never crowded. Located at a distance of only about 70 kilometers from Srinagar, it is a place that is amazingly beautiful but does not get the attention that it truly deserves.

If you are planning to visit Kashmir, I highly recommend that you find a day in your itinerary for a visit to Aharbal. How can you plan that is what I have talked about in the article below.

Can you visit Aharbal Waterfall in the winter season? It will depend a lot on the weather at the time of your trip but yes, a trip can be planned. Take a look at this short video below to see how this beautiful waterfall looks in winter.

Daksum Valley

Daksum, also known as Daksum Valley or Daksum Village, is a viewpoint or a picnic spot located on the Anantnag-Kishtwar road near Sinthan Top. Surrounded by lush green mountains and sitting right next to the Bringhi River, it is a popular spot among the locals for family outings and school picnics.

If you are someone who likes spending time in nature, away from the crowd in an offbeat place, Daksum may just be your cup of tea. It really feels like in the middle of nowhere and if you were here during the weekdays, there would hardly be anyone around. For more details, please read How to Plan a Trip to Daksum Valley .

Sinthan Top

Sinthan Top, also known as Sinthan Pass, is a mountain pass located in Kashmir’s Breng Valley, on the road that runs between Anantnag in Kashmir and Kishtwar in Jammu. At an altitude of 12,500 ft, the top of the pass is also known as the 360-degree viewpoint as it offers a charming panoramic view of the surrounding peaks and the valley.

It is a beautiful mountain pass that should find a place in every tourist’s itinerary who is coming toward Pahalgam. Due to its close proximity, Sinthan Top can be easily incorporated with a trip to Pahalgam. The drive from Srinagar to Sinthan Top through the Daksum Valley is also quite scenic and offers a chance to visit some other destinations like Achabal Gardens, Kokernag, and Daksum.

Chatpal Valley

Chatpal, also called Chattabal, is not really a name that many tourists know about. It is a small valley located near Pahalgam but while Pahalgam receives thousands of visitors each year, almost no one goes in the direction of Chatpal. It is one of those places in Kashmir that are still unexplored and yet to find their place on the tourist map.

The majority of the folks you will find in Chatpal will just be the locals from Anantnag or any of the nearby villages, out there for a picnic or a family outing. Even they visit Chattabal usually over the weekends, on Sundays. For the rest of the week, you will hardly see anyone there.

Public Transport in Kashmir

The best way to travel to Kashmir is either by your self-owned vehicle or a private taxi. But if you are a budget traveler, you can also opt for public transport which is available in the form of buses and shared taxis. The problem however is that it is not frequent.

It will be hard to find a JKSRTC bus anywhere in Kashmir. You will have to rely on mini-buses and shared cabs operated by the locals. They do not have a set schedule or timetable but are available throughout the day.

If you are planning on renting a taxi for your trip, the posts below can help you get a cost estimate. An important thing that you should remember is that places like Pahalgam and Gulmarg have their own taxi rates.

What it means is that if you rented a taxi to Pahalgam from Srinagar, it could only drop you in Pahalgam. To visit local places like Betaab Valley, Chandanwari, and Aru Valley, you will have to rent a local cab in Pahalgam.

The same rule applies to Gulmarg. If you want to go for a drive to Bota Pathri, you will have to rent another cab in Gulmarg for that.

Renting a bike in Srinagar is a great way to explore for people who reach Kashmir by flight. There are a few bike rentals in the city which you can get the bikes from.

Food to Try in Kashmir

Your trip to not just Kashmir but any place is incomplete unless you have tasted the local cuisine. That in my opinion is actually one of the best parts of traveling to different places.

A common question that gets asked most often is about vegetarian food and its availability. You do not have to worry about that as well.

Hello Do we need to change taxi at tangmarg while going to hotel stay at gulmarg in March? Or we can take taxi hired for 5 days to at least hotel in gulmarg?

You can take a taxi for 5 days but if you are planning a trip in winter, then you will have to change at Tangmarg. For rest of the year, it can be the same cab.

1) Is Toyoto Etiros/Dzire is good for Gurez trip of you need to have Innova /Scorpio ? Do you know if Razdan pass would be open during October or there is chance of closure ?

2) I changed my plan a bit to skip Gulmarg as I am not interested in doing Gondola, so is there anything else interesting to do there, I assume As i am covering Doodthpatri from Srinagar, the scenary would be similar., what is your suggestion ?

3) what is your opinion on doing Day trip to Yusmarg vs Doodhpatri, from Srinagar ?, doing both on one day could be hectic right ? which one I should do Yusmarg or Doodhpatri ?

1. Razdan Pass usually remains open in Oct. Scorpio / Innova will be better but it depends on the number of people traveling 2. Yeah, the scenery is more or less similar 3. Same on one day will be hectic. Doodhpathri is better

If the taxi driver is agreeing, the second plan would be better

For Chakwali route, you will have to hire a Sumo from Dawar. The drivers from Srinagar usually refuse to go on that route due to extremely bad roads. A hatchback or a Sedan driver will definitely not go

Dear All, This is the review about Kashmironline. We booked on a package in this summer for a family through them, but the hotel which they have opted in Srinagar was not good. No power to stay, no water and no hot water as well. We have to ask for all service every now and then. But upfront the agency collects the payment. Also, they never respond. The reason for booking through a travel agent is that we will not have issues and it will be a safe travel, but here its very bad, there will be a response saying that they will do, but nothing will happen. Remember people travelling to Srinagar / Kashmir make sure you are clear on package, would recommend to make arrangements on your own. Do not depend on any travel agents. Specially Kashmironline at all. They are not friendly and held me in a hotel to pay the final amount. Never trust on any customer and they do not need any customer satisfaction. I have informed very clearly the balance 7-8% (Approx 9000) of amount will be paid on last day of my travel in morning, irrespective of telling and informing the same, they holded in the hotel in the lobby asking for balance payment two days prior itself. The agency called up the hotel informed that before I leave collect the balance money. That looks very bad in front of others asking for money as if am going to move away without paying from them. My only question is if you guys or agency never trust on customer, how do you expect the customer to trust you. If something goes wrong, you will never revert back right. Now, I had a bad and worst stay in Srinagar, they never responded to me anything about that at all. The kashmironline person was apologizing but nothing happened. The issues repeated thrice for all 3 days of stay, our stay was ruined. We went for sight-seeing late for all 3 days and we are not provided with basic necessity of things to stay. Irrespective of informing that Iam not comfortable on the first day itself. Please be aware of these things in Kashmir. Never book though kashmironline at all. They never bother about any feedback or comfortable stay of customer. Only money is important. The driver they organized doesn’t even have a courtesy and he dropped us the railway station by 9pm and have requested him to take me to 5km nearby for dinner which he denied. He never answered any calls after dropping us. Irrespective of informing that we need to have dinner before dropping us, he never bothered that Iam with 2 kids without food travelling for whole night. He was keen on moving away since the money is fully paid a day prior. Important is he knows entire story of this issue. They never change and felt bad for booking with them. Entire trip is ruined and I have give other hint to save other atleast, not to get cheated. Since no one save me.. kashmironline These details are from my recent personal experience during the month of May 2023.

Hello. Thanks for the details. I am planning Gulmarg directly from the airport (2 nights) , then Sonmarg (2 nights), then Pahalgam (3 nights) and then Srinagar (2 nights). Is that itinerary okay ? Are these places equidistant

2 and 3 days is a bit much. Gulmarg 1 day, Sonamarg 1 day and Pahalgam 1 night should be more than enough. You can spend rest of your time visiting other places.

What a great Blog. Covers almost everything. The best part is that it is not commercial blogs, which generally have an interest in the places they mention. You have written in simple language and from your first-hand experience. I am a Sr. Citizen and also handicapped. I use an artificial limb, but mobility is not an issue (maybe rocky climbing and snow/water). I do travel a lot. My question is: Will you recommend Gondola Phase I and II? My Travel Agent has custom-built an Itinerary for my wife and me using taxis only for the 2 of us. I was told that there is a Union issue and private taxis are not allowed in Gulmarg and Pahalgam and I will have to book local taxis there.

Please advise keeping my handicap in mind. Thanks.

If you are going to stay in Gulmarg overnight, then yes, I will recommend the Gondola ride. If you are just planning a day trip, it will be best to skip it.

You do not need to rent another taxi in Gulmarg for sightseeing. They may ask to take you to Bota Pathri by renting another cab but avoid that. There is nothing there. All the other places in Gulmarg are near the market area. No additional taxi is needed.

Yes, you will have to rent another taxi in Pahalgam for local sightseeing. Srinagar taxi will not be allowed there.

There are so many very well known and most liked temples in Kashmir I didn’t find any mention of these temples and places in your article is there any particular reason or you missed it In case you need any help to draw your attention towards those places I can do that

I have a mobility issue. Though I drive but I walk with crutches and small distances only. I followed your blog on Prashar Lake and you had clarified all my concerns so well that I drove upto the last possible point without any issue and then a little walk to the point from where the lake is visible. Though I didn’t trek down to the lake and temple. That was little too much for me.

Anyway, I am now planning to drive to Kashmir in Sept 1st week and plan to spend 3 days each at Srinagar, Pahalgam, Gulmarg. I wanted to ask you how long is the walks at various gardens in Srinagar. I also plan to do Doodhpatri, Yousmarg and Achabal.

Is there too much to walk in Phase 1 and 2 of Gandola, also Sonmarg, Kokernag, Daksum areas? I will be thankful if you can reply to me and help me plan better.

10 TIP MENARIK MELANCONG KE KASHMIR, INDIA

Kashmir ialah sebuah kawasan bergelora yang terletak di Pergunungan Himalaya yang cukup indah dan memukau. Ia merupakan laluan perdagangan (Silk Road) sejak berzaman lagi dan kawasan paling subur yang membekalkan air serta tenaga di Asia Tengah. Jadi tidak mustahil Kashmir sehingga kini masih menjadi rebutan antara tiga kuasa besar iaitu India, Pakistan dan China. 

Berikut adalah 10 tip yang ingin kami kongsikan untuk pelancongan ke Kashmir. Tip-tip ini adalah berdasarkan pengalaman salah seorang ahli MyRehat sendiri ketika melawat Kashmir bersama agensi pelancongan pada bulan Mac yang lalu. Kos pakej premium sebanyak RM3,800 merangkumi tiket kapal terbang pergi dan balik, bagasi 20kg, penginapan beserta sarapan dan makan malam, yuran kemasukan, kereta kabel, rumah bot, Shikara ride dan pengangkutan bas serta pemandu pelancong yang berpengalaman.  

1. Untuk ke Kashmir, anda boleh menaiki penerbangan Kuala Lumpur – New Delhi (KUL – DEL).

Kemudian, naiki penerbangan domestik dari New Delhi ke Srinagar. Banyak syarikat penerbangan yang menawarkan tambang murah untuk ke India. Dalam percutian kali ini, saya memilih Air Asia Airlines dari Kuala Lumpur ke New Delhi dan Vistara Airlines dari New Delhi ke Srinagar. Jangan lupa untuk memohon India e-Visa yang sah untuk 30 hari. Saya membuat permohonan melalui agensi pelancongan dengan bayaran RM200 (tidak termasuk dalam harga pakej). Kalau rajin, anda boleh memohon sendiri di laman web Indian Visa Online kerana harganya lebih murah.   

Meskipun penerbangan hanya mengambil masa selama 1 jam 30 minit, cara hidup antara kedua-dua tempat ini amat berbeza kerana majoriti penduduk di Kashmir adalah Muslim dan masjid boleh dijumpai dimana-mana kawasan disini.

2. Kasmir tidak dipandang tinggi (underrated) .

Kashmir tidak semaju negeri lain. Ia kelihatan lebih mundur, kurang bersih dan barangkali sering dimomok-momokkan dengan bahaya dan keganasan. Askar India bersenjata mengawal di mana-mana saja kerana Kashmir merupakan wilayah yang masih menjadi perebutan oleh banyak kuasa besar. Penduduk Muslim di Kashmir tersepit dan dihimpit namun realitinya, kadar jenayah sangat kurang dan Kashmir selamat untuk dikunjungi. Pertanian dan pelancongan adalah sumber ekonomi terpenting di sini. 

“Trip ke India ni vibes dia lain macam sikit. Membesar dengan cerita dan lagu Hindustan, jadi agak sentimental apabila ke sini. Bila pertama kali menjejak kaki dan melihat sendiri keadaan di Kashmir, Subhanallah, cantiknya alam ciptaan tuhan. Pergi lah pada musim apa pun, setiap pelosok ada keindahannya yang tersendiri. Saya berpeluang untuk pergi pada musim peralihan salji ke musim bunga (12 March 2023). Dapat melihat sendiri bunga yang sedang kembang mekar di sepanjang jalan dan setiap sudut. Dalam masa yang sama, kami juga sempat bermain salji. Siap ada snowfall lagi di Gulmarg. Alhamdulillah.”

4. Bersedia dari segi mental dan fizikal sebelum berkunjung ke Kashmir.

Tahap fizikal haruslah memuaskan.  Jika anda mempunyai sebarang penyakit berkaitan otot, asma dan sebagainya, anda dinasihatkan untuk membekal ubat-ubatan sendiri. Ini kerana anda perlu sentiasa berjalan dengan banyak seawal tiba di lapangan terbang New Delhi. Ia amat besar dan merangkumi 78 pintu manakala penerbangan ke Srinagar berada di sekitar pintu ke 49. Bayangkan betapa jauhnya anda perlu menapak.

Disebabkan Kashmir ditadbir oleh Kerajaan India, banyak perkara agak terbatas. Contohnya, kita sebagai pelancong tidak boleh membeli simcard dengan mudah kerana perlu mendaftar alamat, sertakan gambar dan butiran terperinci. Oleh itu, pelancong biasanya meminjam simcard dari pemandu pelancong tempatan and hanya tambah nilai untuk mengakses internet (jenis day trip ). Jika anda berkunjung dibawah agensi pelancongan, kemungkinan besar anda tidak perlu membeli simcard dan boleh mengakses internet di hotel. Cuma kadang-kala hotel atau rumah bot mempunyai gangguan bekalan elektrik pada waktu-waktu tertentu.

5. Lapangan terbang Kashmir ialah lapangan terbang tentera.

Fotografi tidak dibenarkan disini. Ramai tentera bersenjata mengawal kawasan lapangan terbang dengan ketat. Bermula dari Lapangan terbang New Delhi ke Srinagar, terdapat puluhan ‘check point’ yang harus ditempuhi sehinggakan di pintu kapal terbang juga wajib menjalankan pemeriksaan badan.

6. Tidak perlu risau tentang makanan kerana kebanyakan penduduknya ialah Muslim.

Yang penting, cari restoran yang kelihatan sesuai dan bersih. 

“Time ini lah boleh check-in sekali tandas dan buang hajat apa yang patut. Kalau tandas bersih, kita anggap bersih la tempat makan tu. Tour guide kami tak recommend makan street food , takut perut tak tahan. Lagi satu bila dah travel jauh-jauh, takkan nak kena masak pulak kan? Mesti kena rasa nasi briyani, pulao, mutton curry, naan tandoori, lamb/chicken bbq kat sini. Serius, padu yang amat!”

7. Pahalgam

Perjalanan mengambil masa selama 3 jam dari Srinagar. Horse Riding adalah aktiviti yang paling popular di sini. Pengalaman pertama saya dapat menunggang kuda menyusuri perkampungan dan pergunungan di Pahalgam sambil menikmati pemandangan yang cukup indah. Horse Ride dikenakan 1500Rp setiap seorang. Pony Man (budak lelaki yang ditugaskan untuk mengawal kuda) pula harus diberikan tip (seikhlas mungkin). Saya beri 500Rp sepadan dengan perkhidmatan beliau termasuklah melayan karenah mengambil video dan gambar. Tambahan pula, beliau berjalan kaki lebih dari 1 jam demi mengawal kuda yang ditunggang oleh kami. 

Perjalanan mengambil masa selama 2 jam dari Srinagar. Tempat ini paling dikenali dengan aktiviti musim sejuk seperti Ski, Sledge, Snow Mobile dan lain-lain. Di sini kami terpaksa mengupah pemandu pelancong yang lain untuk membawa kami dari tempat parkir ke stesen gondola untuk kereta kabel dan semestinya untuk aktiviti di atas gunung yang bersalji. Perjalanan menapak ke stesen gondola agak jauh sekitar 1km. Namun jangan risau, ada Service Sledge Man yang akan tarik kita untuk ke stesen atau anda boleh menyewa Jeep. Sediakan wang yang mencukupi.

9. Sonamarg

Perjalanan mengambil masa selama 30 minit dari hotel kami di Rose Inn Heritage, Srinagar. Anda akan disajikan dengan pemandangan mempesona ladang Bunga Canola yang mekar kekuningan, indah sekali! Maklumlah, saya tidak dapat melihat pemandangan seperti ini di negara sendiri jadi saya menjadi amat kagum. Apa lagi, masing-masing berangan menunjukkan tarian Bollywood di kebun orang.

Di Sonamarg, antara aktiviti menarik pada musim salji ialah mengambil gambar dan video, horse riding dan slege riding . Sledge Man akan tarik kita naik ke puncak gunung tapi anda juga boleh berjalan kaki. 

“Jauh ok nak daki gunung salji tebal tu. Harga untuk sledge ride 1500Rp seorang. Diorang akan minta tips, saya bagi lagi 500Rp untuk pakcik yang tarik sledge saya tu. Kesian. Penat kerja dia”.

10. Dal Lake

Anda boleh memilih untuk menginap 1 malam di sini untuk merasai pengalaman di rumah bot (house boat) . Ramai pemuda tempatan akan datang ke house boat untuk menjual barang seperti cenderahati dan kain sari. 

“Yang kelakarnya, kami belum sempat nak check-in lagi tapi diorang dah standby awal-awal kat depan pintu house boat pada malam tu. Kain sari ada, baju punjabi ada, souvenir dan macam-macam lagi. Kita ni jenis mudah kesian, beli jugak lah satu dua barang buat kenangan. Dah alang-alang stay kat Dal Lake, jangan lepaskan peluang untuk ambil shikara ride pusing-pusing tasik ok. Bayaran bermula dari 700Rp setiap jam.”

Akhir sekali, jika anda tanya adakah saya akan pergi ke Kashmir lagi jika ada peluang, jawapan saya adalah semestinya YES. 

“Definitely I will say yes sambil tutup mata dan telinga takmau ingat pasal bunyi hon non-stop kat jalan. Hehe! But overall, it was a great and unique experience in Kashmir. Just pergi dan alami sendiri. Kotor and banyak sampah tu biasa lah. It is better to see something once than to hear about it a hundred times!”

Arrive at Srinagar

Arrive at Srinagar before 8 AM. Make sure to shoot some amazing visuals of the Himalayas before your flight lands. Left-side seats are better for this.

Have breakfast and do a city tour, covering the following places. You can hire a cab or an auto for this.

You can spend around 30 - 45 minutes in each of these places.

Post the city tour, you can proceed for lunch. You can try out some of the following restaurants.

Post lunch, proceed towards Dal lake and check into your hotel. You can also stay in one of the houseboats in Dal lake. Listing down some recommendations for your stay:

After you checkin, rest till evening. In the evening, proceed towards Dal Lake for an amazing sunset boat ride. The ride typically lasts for 1 - 1.5 hours and shall cost you about INR 500 - 800 per person. Make sure that you bargain. During the ride, you will come across people in boats selling snacks, kahwa (traditional Kashmiri tea), artifacts, etc. You will also pass by the floating market. The prices here can be a tad bit more expensive compared to land costs.

Post the boat ride, you can have dinner and call it a day. 

On day 2, finish your breakfast early and proceed towards Pahalgam. You can hire a cab for this. The journey from Srinagar to Pahalgam should take about 2 - 3 hours. En route, you will pass by saffron fields, apple orchards and cricket bat factory. You may also purchase dry fruits and saffron from any of the shops on the way.

On arrival at Pahalgam, check into your hotel. The following are our recommendations:

Post lunch, proceed towards Pahalgam taxi stand. You can hire a pony here to visit places such as mini Switzerland, Kashmir valley, Pahalgam valley, etc. The cost of pony will depend upon the places that you want to visit and should range from INR 4000 - 5000 per person. Again, make sure to bargain. This should take about 4 - 5 hours to complete.

P.S. Even though this experience is slightly expensive, we strongly recommend it. The views are to die for, and movies such as Bajrangi Bhaijan were shot in these places. 

Post this trip, return to your hotel for dinner and call it a day.

Pahalgam and return to Srinagar

Post breakfast, proceed to Pahalgam taxi stand. Please note that the cabs you hired from Srinagar are not allowed here, and you need to hire local union cabs from the taxi stand to visit Aru Valley, Betab Valley, and Chandanwari. During winter months, you may hire a sled in these valleys since walking can be a bit taxing in the cold weather. Gumboots will be available for rent in front of the entrance of these places. You can spend 1 - 1.5 hours in each of these places.

Once you cover these places, you can return to Srinagar. En-route, visit Avantipur ruins.

In the evening, you may visit Lal Chowk market or take a stroll along the banks of Dal Lake.

On day 4, finish your breakfast early and proceed towards Gulmarg. You can hire a cab for this. The journey from Srinagar to Gulmarg should take about 1.5 - 2 hours. Please note that during winter months, depending on road conditions, your vehicle may not be allowed in Gulmarg and you may have to hire a local union cab. Here also, on the top, you may hire a sled during the winter months. You can also rent jackets, gumboots, etc. here. The main attraction in Gulmarg is the Gondola ride. The queue for getting the tickets can sometimes be very long, so plan on reaching Gulmarg early. It is also possible to book these tickets online. Gondola has two phases. The ticket price will depend upon the phase that you want to visit.

You can also try out activities such as skiing and snowboarding here. You may spend 4 - 5 hours here, depending upon the crowd and number of activities that you want to do.

Post this, definitely visit Drung waterfall, especially if you are visiting during the winter months. The frozen waterfall is one of the best natural sights that you will see in your life!

You may choose to spend the day in Gulmarg, or return to Srinagar in the evening.

The following are some of our recommendations for stays in Gulmarg:

The journey from Gulmarg to Sonmarg can take 3 - 3.5 hours. If you are traveling from Srinagar, it will take 2 - 2.5 hours. 

The biggest attraction of this place is the Thajiwas Glacier. You can hire a pony similar to Pahalgam here also.

Return to Srinagar in the evening.

Departure from Srinagar

Check out from your hotel post breakfast and proceed towards with lots of memories to be cherished for a lifetime!

1. The land cost in Kashmir is expensive compared to other destinations (for hiring pony, local cabs, renting winter wear, etc.). Make sure that you bargain for a fair price and also carry sufficient amount of cash with you. While ATMs are available in Srinagar, they are sparsely available in other locations and online payment is not always an option.

2. If you are traveling during winter, make sure to carry sufficient amount of winter wear such as thermals, jackets, sweaters, etc. While gumboots are available for rent in places with heavy snow, you must carry woollen socks and a good pair of shoes.

3. Make sure to carry your essential medicines with you since medical shops may not be accessible everywhere.

4. While aerial shots of Kashmir are beautiful, make sure that you ask around for local regulations related to flying a drone. 

5. Please leave for airport early on your departure day since there is security checking before entering the airport. Please make sure to factor in atleast 30 - 45 minutes for this, based on the crowd at the airport.

I have done single-handed cart wheel at 4000 meters above sea level at Kashmiri Himalayas. Have you done this before? Many asked me about Kashmir. It is certainly not a place for shopping, it is a place to appreciate cultures, colors, people, natures. Please come to Kashmir while you are still young, it is NOT expensive. Why young? The physiological compensation mechanism of high altitude is better in younger people compared to older ones with heart problems for example. You will breathe rapidly and your heart beats 20-30% more than your usual resting heart rate. Bumbung dunia kot!

Ladakh Kashmir is awesome for those who are looking for adventure, culture and nature on top of the “Roof of the World” (Bumbung Dunia). Saya nak kongsikan 11 tip untuk mereka yang plan nak ke sini.

1. Perjalanannya mencabar, tak sesuai untuk kanak-kanak atau warga emas ikut, mereka akan kerap dapat motion sickness . Naik turun gunung, selekoh merbahaya, jarang tidak rata, gaung curam dan menggerunkan.

2. Boleh jadi tempat honeymoon yang menarik jika pasangan anda sehati-sejiwa dengan anda. Pemandangannya sangat indah dan romantik guling-guling hindustan pun boleh.

3. Perlu ketahanan fizikal yang kuat: susah bernafas setelah 3000m. Bak kata pepatah, NYHA 1 pun boleh jadi NYHA 3-4 atas gunung (orang perubatan paham kot).

4. Sanggup makan vegetarian seminggu. Mungkin boleh dapat ayam halal sikit tapi kena tahan mual. Susah cari ikan atau seafood kat sini.

5. Kena ada life dan travel insurans. Dengan perjalanan bahaya yang penuh ketidak pastian, pastikan ada travel insuran dan jangan susahkan hati orang tersayang di rumah.

Kami mengalami kelewatan bagasi selama 3-4 hari di Kashmir. Terasa annoying jugalah, namun sebab ada travel insurance, kuranglah kerisauan perjalanan.

6. Ambil travel agent tak mahal kalau dalam kumpulan dan masa travel yang singkat dan terhad. Mereka uruskan apa yang patut seperti permit masuk tempat yang sangat menarik, pendaftaran dengan pihak authoriti, cari hotel yang sesuai , dan tempat makan yang sesuai.

7. Bawa stok ubat demam (awak akan demam), ubat tahan muntah (tahan motion sickness ), lip balm (bibir akan kering), vitamin C chewable atau multivit (makanan di Kashmir kurang seimbang). Untuk ubat mountain sickness (diamox) lebih senang dapat di Kashmir dari Malaysia.

8. Bawa kamera yang baik! Anda akan ambil beribu-ribu gambar. Siapa nak kejar milky way , bawa DSLR atau sewaktu dengannya.

9. Cuba cara hidup nomad satu atau dua malam. Anda akan bersyukur dengan apa yang anda ada di Malaysia seperti sumber air yg baik, tandas yang indah, bilik tidur yang selesa, wifi dan sebagainya.

10. Hormat budaya dan agama orang. Menarik sebenarnya memerhati cara kehidupan mereka, lantas membuatkan kita rasa bersyukur ada nikmat iman dan Islam yang kita ada.

11. Guna travel agent jika tempoh pergembaraan anda singkat. Kasmir sebuah daerah yang besar. Menggunakan travel agent bukan saja menjimatkan masa tapi mereka boleh uruskan perkara penting seperti pengangkutan dan kenderaan terutama sewaktu merentasi gunung dengan laluan berbahaya.

PANDUAN KE KASHMIR

Kashmir sangat tourist friendly sebab ekonomi penduduk tempatan bergantung dengan tourism. Kebanyakannya fasih berbahasa inggeris. Kami pergi masa low season (winter) jadi kos keseluruhan agak murah. Kalau datang masa peak season (Julai – Ogos) mungkin kos lebih mahal.

Day 1 – Delhi – Srinagar Day 2 – Pahalgam (mini Swiss) Day 3 – Sonamarg (Glacier) Day 4 – Srinagar – Delhi Biasanya orang lain 5 hari 4 malam, ada sehari lagi ke Gulmarg (ski & gondola). Kami 4 hari je sebab 4 hari sebelum tu kami ke Delhi & Agra.

FLIGHT & VISA

KL – Delhi kami naik Malindo (RM 600 seorang/return). Kemudian ke Kashmir (Srinagar) dengan Indigo (RM 400 seorang/return). Kami pilih Indigo sebab dah include luggage 15kg tapi kena tukar terminal. Boleh tengok jugak Air India, ada luggage & tak perlu tukar terminal. Kalau sampai Delhi malam & flight ke Srinagar pagi seterusnya boleh stay kat airport je. Ada banyak kerusi nak tidur (tak boleh baring) & tempat nak charge phone pun ada. Sebaiknya biar ada gap yang lama untuk flight seterusnya. Flight kami Srinagar – Delhi delay dalam 2 jam jugak tanpa notis. Nasib baik flight ke KL tu malam. Jangan lupa buat visa India RM 180. Details kat sini

Kalau nak ke Kashmir je tak perlu beli simkad bila sampai Delhi sebab sampai Kashmir simkad tu tak boleh guna pun. Cari accommodation yang ada wifi. Jangan lupa bawa adapter & extension untuk charging. Bawa extension sebab senang nak charge semua sekali.

ACCOMMODATION

Boathouse sangat terkenal di Kashmir. Nak yang murah kat area Dal Lake. Nak fancy kat Negin Lake. Kami dapat harga 1200 rupees (RM 75) 3 malam untuk triple room & private bathroom. Untuk ke boathouse tu kena naik shikara (boat).Boleh book kat booking.com. Kekurangan boathouse yang kami stay ni limited electricity & hot water. On pada masa tertentu je. Menggigil jugak bila suhu negatif. Kalau nak merasa duduk boathouse boleh la untuk 1 malam saja. Lepas tu boleh duduk kat area bandar je. Senang nak jalan-jalan kat bandar. Lagipun bila dah malam susah nak dapat boat/shikara nak balik boathouse.

• Airport transfer Dari airport ke hotel boleh arrange siap-siap dengan pihak accommodation. Mereka akan tunggu dengan nama kat arrival. Kami kena charge 1200 rupees (RM 75) return. Airport ke bandar dalam 40 minit. Masa nak balik tu pergi ke airport awal. Airport kecik tapi banyak check point & queue panjang.
• Sekitar bandar Untuk di sekitar bandar boleh naik tuk-tuk, 50 rupees (RM 3) per trip. Kalau jauh sikit dalam 10 km, 100 rupees (RM 6)
• Sekitar Dal Lake Untuk ulang-alik bandar ke boathouse naik shikara 50 rupees (RM 3) per trip. Untuk pusing Dal Lake semasa sunset, kami dapat harga 150 rupees (RM 9) untuk 2 jam.
• Pahalgam & Sonamarg Untuk ke tempat yang jauh boleh ambik teksi kat Tourist Taxi Stand (depan Dal Lake). Mereka dah letak harga tapi boleh runding lagi. Harga yg kami dapat hari tu 1800 rupees (RM 110) per trip. Driver teksi ni merangkap tour guide sekali. Jadi banyak info pasal Kashmir dia cerita. Kat Pahalgam & Sonamarg ni kena naik kuda. Harga dalam 850 – 1200 rupees (RM 52 – RM 75) seorang, tak termasuk tips.

Hari ahad kedai banyak tutup. Pada hari-hari biasa, kedai mula buka pukul 10 am, tutup seawal 7 pm. Ada juga peniaga & kedai tepi jalan yang buka sampai 9 pm. Biasanya boleh bargain sampai half price dari harga asal tapi kalau kedai wholesale, memang dah fixed price. Ada local market (paling murah), tourist market & floating market. Benda yang famous & murah kat Kashmir ni saffron, shawl pashmina, kehwa tea, “papier mache” & khasmiri embroidery. 4 Musim di Kashmir

• Musim Salji di Kashmir biasanya pada bulan Disember sehingga Mac. Pakaian tebal diperlukan memandangkan salji yang tebal.
• Musim Bunga pula sekitar bulan April hingga Mei.
• Musim Panas pula sekitar akhir Mei hingga Ogos. Musim panas merupakan waktu paling ramai pelancong. Perbelanjaan sedikit mahal.
• Musim luruh pula sekitar September hingga awal Disember. cuaca ketika ini agak tidak menentu, Hujan di sesetengah tempat dan dingin.

8 Tips ke Kashmir

Kami pergi masa low season (winter) jadi kos keseluruhan agak murah. Kalau datang masa peak season (Julai – Ogos) mungkin kos lebih mahal.

1. Tentatif kami ke Kashmir

Day 1 – Delhi – Srinagar Day 2 – Pahalgam (mini Swiss) Day 3 – Sonamarg (Glacier) Day 4 – Srinagar – Delhi

Biasanya orang lain 5 hari 4 malam, ada sehari lagi ke Gulmarg (ski & gondola). Kami 4 hari je sebab 4 hari sebelum tu kami ke Delhi & Agra.

2. Flight & Visa

KL – Delhi kami naik Malindo (RM 600 seorang/return). Kemudian dari Delhi ke Kashmir (Srinagar) dengan Indigo (RM 400 seorang/return).

Kami pilih Indigo sebab dah include luggage 15kg tapi kena tukar terminal. Boleh tengok juga Air India , ada luggage & tak perlu tukar terminal.

Kalau sampai Delhi malam & flight ke Srinagar pagi seterusnya boleh stay kat airport je. Ada banyak kerusi nak tidur (tak boleh baring) & tempat nak charge phone pun ada.

Sebaiknya biar ada gap yang lama untuk flight seterusnya. Flight kami Srinagar – Delhi delay dalam 2 jam jugak tanpa notis. Nasib baik flight ke KL tu malam.

Jangan lupa buat visa India RM 180. Details kat sini: Visa India

3. Internet

Kalau nak ke Kashmir je tak perlu beli simkad bila sampai Delhi sebab sampai Kashmir, simkad tu tak boleh guna pun. Cari penginapan hotel yang ada wifi.

Jangan lupa bawa adapter & extension untuk charging . Bawa extension sebab senang nak charge semua sekali.

4. Penginapan / Accommodation

Boathouse sangat terkenal di Kashmir. Nak yang murah kat area Dal Lake. Nak mewah boleh cuba dekat Negin Lake.

Penginapan, kami dapat harga 1200 rupees (RM 75) 3 malam untuk triple room & private bathroom. Untuk ke boathouse tu kena naik shikara (boat).

Boleh tempah kat booking.com. Kekurangan boathouse yang kami stay ni adalah limited electricity & hot water . On pada masa tertentu je. Menggigil jugak bila suhu negatif.

Kalau nak merasa duduk boathouse boleh la untuk 1 malam saja. Lepas tu boleh duduk kat area bandar je. Senang nak jalan-jalan kat bandar. Lagipun bila dah malam susah nak dapat boat/shikara nak balik boathouse.

5. Transport

Airport transfer Dari airport ke hotel boleh la tentukan masa siap-siap dengan pihak accommodation . Mereka akan tunggu dengan nama kat arrival . Kami kena charge 1200 rupees (RM 75) return. Airport ke bandar dalam 40 minit.

Masa nak balik tu pergi ke airport awal. Airport kecik tapi banyak check point & queue panjang.

Sekitar Bandar Untuk di sekitar bandar boleh naik tuk-tuk, 50 rupees (RM 3) per trip. Kalau jauh sikit dalam 10 km, 100 rupees (RM 6)

Sekitar Dal Lake Untuk ulang-alik bandar ke boathouse naik shikara 50 rupees (RM 3) per trip. Untuk pusing Dal Lake semasa sunset, kami dapat harga 150 rupees (RM 9) untuk 2 jam.

Pahalgam & Sonamarg Untuk ke tempat yang jauh boleh ambik teksi kat Tourist Taxi Stand (depan Dal Lake).

Mereka dah letak harga tapi boleh runding lagi. Harga yg kami dapat hari tu 1800 rupees (RM 110) per trip.

Driver teksi ni merangkap tour guide sekali. Jadi banyak info pasal Kashmir dia cerita.

Kat Pahalgam & Sonamarg ni kena naik kuda. Harga dalam 850 – 1200 rupees (RM 52 – RM 75) seorang, tak termasuk tips.

6. Cenderamata / Souvenirs

Hari ahad kedai banyak tutup. Pada hari-hari biasa, kedai mula buka pukul 10 am, tutup seawal 7 pm. Ada juga peniaga & kedai tepi jalan yang buka sampai 9 pm.

Biasanya boleh tawar menawar sampai separuh harga dari harga asal tapi kalau kedai wholesale , memang harga dah tetap.

Benda yang famous & murah kat Kashmir ni Saffron, Shawl Pashmina, Kehwa Tea, “Papier Mache” & Khasmiri Embroidery.

Day 1 – Delhi – Srinagar Day 2 – Pahalgam (mini Swiss) Day 3 – Sonamarg (Glacier) Day 4 – Srinagar – Delhi

Spring is believed to be the most beautiful season to see Kashmir in. Kashmir blooms with beauty beyond belief during the months from April to June, during which even the weather Gods are kind and the temperature is pleasant and enjoyable. April is also a great month if you wish to see blooming tulips all over the valley.

How to get there and how to get around?

The Srinagar domestic airport (Sheikh-ul-Alam Airport) is well connected to all major cities in India. There is no railway connectivity in Srinagar, but it is 290 kilometres away from Jammu which is well connected to the Indian Railways network.

To travel within Kashmir, you could take the JKSRTC deluxe buses from Srinagar, though luxury coaches and tourist taxis are easily available for local sightseeing as well as trips and excursions out of Srinagar. If you are a little tight on budget, mini buses and auto rickshaws are the ideal choice for commuting.

When it comes to gardens, Srinagar has quite literally knocked it out of the park with Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh, Chashm-e-Shahi, Naseem Bagh and Chinar Bagh which blanket the city with their refreshing greenery.

When here, do experience the spiritual serenity of the Shankaracharya temple and the Hazratbal Mosque while you are out exploring the city.

‘Gulmarg’ literally translates to the ‘meadow of flowers’ and is rightly named so with its breathtaking views. This small town tucked in beautiful green meadows is a sight to behold during spring time. But the best time to visit it is during the winters, when the land is covered in an ocean of fluffy snow!

You can take a bus or a cab to Gulmarg from Srinagar. But it is advised not to take your private vehicles, since roads to Gulmarg tend to be a little risky in winters. The two biggest attractions that Gulmarg has to offer are the Gondola ride and trekking. A short and fun trek to Alpather lake from Gondola Phase 2 station is an excellent option for those who are up for the challenge of trekking in the cold.

Gulmarg Golf Course with its asymmetrical contours is counted amongst the largest 18-hole golf courses in the country and is one of the most popular golfing destinations in India.

A quick bus ride is all it takes to get to this golden meadow. The biggest attraction of Sonmarg is the Thajjwas glacier, where you can indulge in activities like sledding and trekking!

Zojila Pass and Zero Points are high altitude spots in Sonmarg which offer mesmerising scenic views. If you want to trek further up, you can check out Table Top in Sonmarg which offers a view of the entire valley.

A word of caution for travellers visiting Sonmarg during the winter months- this area tends to shut down for tourists due to heavy snowfall and high likelihood of avalanches. We highly recommend checking with the locals before booking your trip here.

The picturesque beauty of Pahalgam has been a silver screen favourite since the inception of Indian cinema aka Bollywood!. With the backdrop of deodar and pine trees and several valleys, you will certainly feel like the main character of your own story.

Pahalgam provides an ideal setting for an array of adventure sports like hiking, trekking, and fishing and is also a starting point of the Amarnath yatra.

The town is famous for its scenic beauty and is the jewel of the stunning Liddar valley.

Baisaran, famously known as "Mini Switzerland '' is a short pony ride away from Pahalgam. It makes for an excellent picnic spot and has multiple food stalls and tapris to enjoy with your vacation gang.

Things to eat

Kashmiri cuisine is characterised by its soothing yet zesty flavours that stay with you long after you’ve devoured the dishes prepared for you.

‘Wazwan’ is a multi-course meal. It is a staple of Kashmiri culture and identity. Most dishes in Wazwan are meat-based and use lamb or chicken. Rogan josh is the signature dish of a Wazwan. This spicy red lamb-based curry is ideally eaten with saffron rice.

For yet another gastronomic adventure, you can try Yakhni. Yakhni refers to the stock or broth of beef, chicken, lamb or mutton. It is touted for its health benefits and is often the base for many foods including pulao and other shorbas (soups). Yakhni is usually prepared with a curd based gravy which renders the delicious creamy texture to it.

Whilst in Kashmir don’t forget to sip on the locally prepared Kahwa or Kashmiri chai. This water based hot drink prepared with a generous helping of saffron and dry fruits is known for its digestive properties. With its warm and soothing taste, Kahwa makes the perfect accompaniment to enjoy the ambience and the weather of Kashmir.

Things to shop

Kashmir is famed for its legendary handlooms and handicrafts! The shawls and the textiles made here, speak volumes of the land’s rich cultural past. In fact, the art of making these masterpieces is passed down generationally and the product is considered family-heirlooms by those who buy them.

Kashmir is also where a large amount of India's grapes and apples are produced. So you’re likely to find local street vendors selling the freshest fruits you’ve ever bitten into, at every corner, here!

Sungai dan Tasik

Wilayah ini dipenuhi dengan banyak sungai dan tasik. Sungai Jhelum, salah satu sungai utama di benua kecil India, mengalir melalui Lembah Kashmir. Tasik Dal di Srinagar ialah tasik altitud tinggi yang terkenal dan ciri yang menonjol di rantau ini.

 Kashmir berkongsi sempadan dengan India, Pakistan dan China. Line of Control (LoC) berfungsi sebagai sempadan de facto antara bahagian yang ditadbir oleh India dan Pakistan, manakala Line of Actual Control (LAC) menyempadankan sempadan dengan China.

  Musim sejuk di Kashmir

Musim sejuk adalah sejuk dengan suhu 2-10 darjah Celcius. Antara bulan Disember hingga Februari adalah musim sejuk.   Diikuti  dengan salji turun dengan lebat di kawasan yang lebih tinggi. Melancong ke Kashmir musim sejuk adalah paling menyeronokkan , kerana ia destinasi popular untuk sukan musim sejuk seperti sukan ski. 

Musim sejuk di Kashmir tidak sama dengan musim sejuk di Turki yang mana ia bermula pada bulan November sehingga March.

Musim Panas

Musim panas adalah sederhana dan menyenangkan. Ia bantu menarik pelancong untuk menikmati cuaca yang menenangkan dengan beriadah di Tasik-tasik dan danau. Suhu musim panas di Kashmir sekitar 20-30 darjah Celcius. 

Musim Bunga

Manakala, musim bunga pada bulan Mac hingga  April. Suhu sekitar 15 hingga 18 darjah celsius sahaja.  Musim buah di Kashmir juga pada bulan Mac hingga April. Antara  buah-buahan yang ada di Kashmir adalah Peach, Cherry dan Almond. Jika mahu feeling seperti cerita-cerita hindustan, anda boleh datang ke Kashmir pada musim bunga. Ada pelbagai jenis bunga mekar pada musim ini  seperti Bunga tulips dan lain-lain. 

Musim Luruh

Musim luruh adalah yang paling menarik sekali. Ini kerana kesemua daun-daun akan bertukar warna keemasan dan luruh ke tanah apabila tiba musimnya pada bulan September hingga November. Suhu ketika musim luruh sekitar 15 – 25 darjah celcius.

Sebuah taman yang berteres sebanyak 12 tingkat yang melambangkan 12 zodiak yang terletak di tebing Dal Lake. Dibina pada tahun 1633 oleh Maharaja Shah Jahan dengan pemandangan indah menghadap tasik dan Zabarwan Mountains.

 Setiap teres dibina dengan senibina taman yang berbeza-beza dan di sini juga terdapat makam puteri raja Mughal. Teres ke-2 merupakan teres yang paling cantik dan menjadi tumpuan pelancong. 

Shalimar Bagh

 Taman yang dibina oleh Maharaja Jahangir pada 1619 dan dianggap Mughal Garden yang tercantik di Kashmir dengan jolokan “Crown of Srinagar”. Banyak pokok dan bunga yang jarang ditemui terdapat di sini dan musim terbaik untuk ke sini adalah ketika musim bunga dan luruh di mana pelancong dapat melihat pokok-pokok Chinar bertukar warna daunnya. Di sini juga terdapat sebuah dewan kediaman yang dibina menggunakan batu marble sebagai rumah tamu bagi tetamu diraja.

Srinagar – Sonamarg

 Merupakan sebuah binaan yang dianggap sebagai antara 7 keajaiban dunia kerana seluruh kawasan kompleks ini dibina dengan simetri yang tepat. Kompleks ini dibina oleh Maharaja Shah Jahan pada 1631 sebagai makam buat isterinya Mumtaz Mahal. 

Keseluruhan kompleks ini dibina menggunakan batu marmar putih dengan 4 buah menara dan kubah bangunan utama mencapai ketinggian 73m. Tetamu pastinya akan teruja dengan keindahan monumen ini dan keseluruhan kompleks ini saat melangkah masuk pintu gerbang utamanya.

Sebuah kota pertahanan yang dibina pada 1565 oleh bapa Shah Jahan, Maharaja Akbar dan menjadi pusat pemerintahan dan kediaman utama diraja Empayar Mughal sebelum berpindah ke Delhi.

 Kota ini merupakan salah satu dari seni bina Islam yang penting dan seluas 94 ekar menempatkan sebanyak lebih 500 bangunan terdapat di dalam kota ini. Tembok kotanya sahaja sudah setinggi 70 kaki. Antara monumen penting di dalam kota ini ialah kolam mandi Jahangir’s Hauz yang setinggi 5 kaki, pintu Ghaznin Gate yang dibuat pada tahun 1030, Shish Mahal yang indah dengan ukiran mosaic kaca dan juga Musamman Burj yang merupakan sebuah ruang istirahat air pancut terletak di tingkat atas kegunaan Mumtaz Mahal.

Selepas penat seharian menggembara, anda akan dibawa  bermalam di Delhi. 

Tugu peringatan yang dibina seakan pintu gerbang bagi 84,000 tentera India yang terkorban sepanjang Perang Dunia Pertama. Delhi – Kuala Lumpur HARI 7 SP/MT/MM 

 Memorial yang dibina bagi memperingati bapa kemerdekaan India, Mahatma Gandhi dan Jawaharlal Nehru, Perdana Menteri Pertama India.

Bersolat di Jama Masjid yang dibina oleh Maharaja Shah Jahan pada tahun 1650 merupakan masjid yang terbesar di India dan menjadi simbol kekuasaan empayar Islam di India pada zaman Mughal. 

Qutub Minar

Menara yang dibina di atas runtuhan kota Lal Kot pada 1199 setinggi 72.5m dan merupakan sebahagian dari kompleks masjid Quwwatul Islam. 

 Lawatan panorama bas melepasi Red Fort yang dibina pada 1639 oleh Shah Jahan sebagai kota pemerintahan Empayar Mughal, President’s Palace, Parliament House, Birla Temple dan Lotus Temple. Menaiki penerbangan pulang ke Kuala Lumpur.
