But before that let us spare some time to know a little bit about Ramoji Film City.

Alluring Film City

Ramoji Film City is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Hyderabad. If you love movies, you will enjoy spending every moment in this sprawling film city. Spread over an area of 1666 acres, Ramoji Film City is certified by the Guinness Book of World Records as World’s largest Film City Complex. The film city is the brainchild of film producer Ramoji Rao, and the complex was designed by Nitish Roy, an art director.

Film sets, theme parks, amusement rides, hotels and restaurants are located within the extensive area of Ramoji Film City. In this article, we will give a sneak-peak of the things to do and see at Ramoji Film City.

Ramoji Film City One-Day Tour

Your private vehicle or public transport will drop you near the ticket counter of Ramoji Film City. It is from this counter that you will purchase your tickets. Parking for your vehicle is also available in this area. You can also book your tickets or tour packages from the website of the film city before your visit.

After purchasing the ticket you will be directed to be seated on one of the buses run by the film city that will drop you to the entrance gate of the film city which is at a distance of a few kilometers from the ticket counter.

At the entrance of the gate, you will find several vintage red colored that resemble the famous London Bus. Take a ride on the bus to see the charming sets and locations within the film city along with a tour guide, who will give you a detailed description and importance of each of the landmarks within this magnificent place.

Here is a list of important landmarks within the complex of Ramoji Film City that you must see:

1. Baahubali Set

The massive Baahubali set is one of the major attractions of Ramoji Film City. If you have loved watching the film, this place will make you revisit most of the scenes once again. The life-size structures of chariots, elephants and the underground prison will surely amaze you with the artistic skills of people involved in making this remarkable film.

In the vicinity of the Baahubali Set, there is also a cafe named Baahubali Cafe where you can munch on some snacks before proceeding further.

2. Bhagavatham Set

The Bhagavatham Set at the Ramoji Film City is one of the most alluring mythological film sets in the country. The intricately decorated interiors along with appropriate lighting of this set will transport you to the bygone era. The sheer magnificence of the set is sure to enthrall every visitor!

3. Princess Street

How about visiting the famous Princess Street of London for a few minutes? No, I am not joking! In Ramoji Film City you can also have a tour of the iconic Princess Street without stepping out of the country.

4. Railway Station

How many times have you almost missed your train? Well, I am sure that you have experienced such a situation at least once in your life. Luckily, the train from the Railway Station at Ramoji Film City seems to be the only train in the country that is in no hurry to leave the station anytime soon. The railway coaches of the set is a replica of the trains that we have seen in many of the famous Bollywood films.

You can book your seats online for one of the pickup bus services from different parts of the city. Bus services to the film city from Hafeezpet, Lingampally, Balanagar, Jubilee Bus Stand, Suchitra, Shapur, Gachibowli and Charminar are available.

You drive to the film city on your private vehicle or hire a private vehicle to drop you at the ticket counter of the film city.

Tips to remember while visiting Ramoji Film City

• If you want to enjoy each and every corner of the film city, try to reach the counter at around 9 o’clock in the morning.
• Wear comfortable shoes and clothes as you will spend most of the time outdoors exploring places.
• Always carry a bottle of water to keep yourself hydrated.
• Carry your shades, hats and sunscreen along with you so that you can use them as and when required.
• Rest for a while as you explore the places and eat snacks from the nearby cafes to keep you energised.

A full day trip at ramoji film city.

• Ticket booking starts at 9AM but I'd advise booking tickets online as it would save time.
• Film city opening ceremony is at 9:45 AM and the film city attractions are open till 5:30. It's advisable to reach as early as possible so that you can view all the attractions.
• Google maps may take you directly to the main entry gate. Make sure you navigate Ramoji city parking and main ticket counter.
• Get the brochure from the help desk and decide and visit the attractions you wouldn't want to miss.
• Most of the artificial attractions are avoidable and can be skipped.
• Lights Camera Action is a must watch show. Do not miss it.
• Filmmaking experience show is good for someone who doesn't know anything about filmmaking.
• Space yatra is highly avoidable. Do not waste your time on it.
• Hop on the Red bus for the guided tour first thing and then go to individual attractions.

10 Things to Do on Ramoji Film City Tour

Let us kick it off with a trivia fact – Did you know that Ramoji Film City is known to hold the Guinness World Record of being the largest film studio complex in the world. If you weren’t aware of it till now, you now are!

A tour to Ramoji Film City, in many ways, can be a fun yet liberating experience thanks to the number of attractions on offer. Spread across 1666 acres, Ramoji Film City is around 28 kilometers away from Hyderabad and has been set up by Ramoji Rao in the year 1991.

Information that is ‘Good To Know’

The entry ticket cost to the Ramoji Film City is Rs. 900 for adults and Rs. 700 for children. You can travel by car or simply take buses run by travel companies. However, do note that you are not allowed to carry outside food. There are multiple restaurants and snack counters inside for which you have to pay separately. Make sure to take a note of show timings and entry fee before your visit to Ramoji Film City tour and plan things accordingly.

To plan your tour better, you can also get a map listing all the attractions along with show timings. The trip normally starts at sharp 9 am and tickets can be booked online or bought directly at the counter.
