This ‘Offensive’ Comedian Can’t Stop Talking About His Love for Boise

If there is one thing that we all know by now, it's that the Treasure Valley is a pretty special place. Whether you're just visiting or call this area home--there is something for everyone to be a part of or to take part in. From amazing bars and restaurants to some of the world's best outdoors (literally)--we're lucky.

In a town as peaceful as Boise--one 'offensive' comedian made an awful lot of noise over the weekend.

Bert Kreischer, known for his crude sense of humor and often times labeled as an offensive guy, had a sell out crowd over at ExtraMile Arena on Saturday night. No matter how Boise might feel about the guy, he had a lot of feelings for Boise.

One would be hard pressed to find any negative feedback from Bert's visit to the Treasure Valley over the weekend:

While on stage, Bert shouted out the City of Boise and how kind folks around town were. Of course, that comes as no surprise to those of us that live here and understand that we all just operate at a "different pace" here. Bert also shared that he had an absolute blast floating the Boise River before his show--and that folks on the river were just as amazing!

We do find it funny that while he is known for taking his shirt off during his comedy routine--he left it on for the river float.

While growth here has proven that the "secret" is out--we've seen plenty of celebrities catch onto the Boise trend as well. It isn't uncommon to see folks from Hollywood wandering around our state. I suppose now, it's safe to assume we will soon be adding Bert to the list!

The Movie The Machine

23 years ago, Bert Kreischer had an infamous experience with Russian mobsters while on a booze-soaked college trip. That trip has come back to haunt him as he and his estranged father (Mark Hamill) are kidnapped back to Russia by the mob to atone for something they say he did. Bert Kreischer Enlists Tiffany Haddish and Lewis Black for ‘Fully Loaded’ Traveling Comedy Festival

It's a Lollapalooza-like tour — but for stand-up.

Comedian Bert Kreischer is ready to go back out with a blackout, pulling himself up to the bar for round two of his party-driven Fully Loaded Comedy Festival beginning June 14 and hitting 16 ballparks and arenas across the country.

The concept for the Fully Loaded Comedy Festival, promoted by Outback Presents, was conceived during Bert’s 2020 Hot Summer Nights Tour while performing outdoor shows at drive-in venues (a pandemic consideration). The idea was to create a traveling comedy festival inspired by the original Lollapalooza touring festival and encompass everything he loves: “comedy, the outdoors, good times, and drinking with friends to give fans an experience they will be talking about for years to come,” a release announcing the festival explains.

This year the festival will partner with the charity Comedy Gives Back, an organization founded as a safety net for comics by providing them with financial crisis relief, mental health support and more.

On March 14, he will release his highly anticipated fifth stand-up special,  Razzle Dazzle  on Netflix and will star in the Legendary/Sony Picture film,  The Machine , premiering May 26.

“Set 23 years after the study abroad experience he chronicled in his 2016 Showtime stand-up special, the movie follows Kreischer as the Russian mafia finally catches up with him after all these years and seeks retribution for the crimes that he committed in their country as a rowdy, drunken college student,” according to a press release. 

Kreischer is also a popular podcast host with several top comedy podcasts including  Bertcast  and  Two Bears One Cave  that he co-hosts with Tom Segura. He also hosts the popular YouTube cooking show,  Something’s Burning .

Bert Kreischer Loads Up Another Summer With Killer Lineup For Traveling Comedy Festival

It’s arguably been Bert Kreischer’s year for a few years now, but 2023 is undeniably his year. His major motion picture debut is imminent, his stand up career is unstoppable, his podcast game is ridiculous, he has a new special coming out next week on Netflix, and amidst all of that, he’s bringing back his traveling comedy tour this summer.

Bert “The Machine” Kreischer announced today he will be starting the party back up this summer with his second annual Fully Loaded Comedy Festival on June 14th at sixteen of the most iconic ballparks and arenas across the country. The biggest comedy event of the year with a “Fully Loaded” line-up that includes Bert Kreischer traveling with so many of our favorite comedians, like Mark Normand, Shane Gillis, Dave Attell, Lewis Black, Jim Norton, Big Jay Oakerson, Dan Soder, Rosebud Baker, Tammy Pescatelli and so many more. One-man comedy tornado Bert Kreischer first caught the attention of the comedy world when he was featured in a Rolling Stone article in 1997 for his student party antics. Realizing his penchant for storytelling and making people laugh as a consequence, Kreischer honed his stand-up chops and later became a regular on TV in his own shows Bert The Conquerer, Hurt Bert and The X Show, as well as stints on the Late Show with David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel and Conan.

Kreischer is perhaps best known for telling fantastical stories without a shirt on. Nicknamed 'The Machine', his wild tale about how he earned the name while entangled with the Russian Mafia is the stuff of legend and has become one of his most popular stories. Others include wrestling with a bear and swimming with sharks on national television. Really, we couldn't make this stuff up...

Renowned comedian, podcast host, actor and author Bert Kreischer is extending his Tops Off World Tour to an additional 34 cities across the U.S., kicking off in January including a stop at the Rio Rancho Events Center on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at 7:00pm.  Following an incredibly successful global stint throughout 2023, where Kreischer brought his shirtless antics everywhere from an impressive four sold out shows at the Mullett Arena in Tempe to a sold-out TD Garden in Boston, Kreischer insisted on keeping the party going. In 2024, Kreischer will take the Tops Off World Tour everywhere from the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, to the Chase Center in San Francisco, all the way to the United Center in Chicago, and closing out in his home away from home, Austin, TX in May.

Back by popular demand, Bert “The Machine” Kreischer announced today he will be starting the party back up this summer with his second annual Fully Loaded Comedy Festival at 16 of the most iconic ballparks and arenas across the country, including Parkview Field in Fort Wayne on Friday, June 23.

Regarding the upcoming festival, Kreischer said, “Fully Loaded is the best ticket you can buy in entertainment this summer. The Fully Loaded lineups are top to bottom the best talent to have ever graced stand-up stages. An absolute no-brainer for any comedy fan.”

The concept for the Fully Loaded Comedy Festival was conceived during Bert’s 2020 Hot Summer Nights Tour while performing at drive-in venues during the pandemic. He fell in love with the unconventional aspect of outdoor comedy shows, which sparked the idea to create a top tier showcase that had never been done before. Having fond memories of the original Lollapalooza, Bert founded his own comedy version that would encompass everything he loves: comedy, the outdoors, good times, and drinking with friends to give fans an experience they will be talking about for years to come.

This year the festival will partner with the charity Comedy Gives Back . They are an organization founded as a safety net for comics by providing them with financial crisis relief, mental health support and more to those that need help.

Local Man Rescues Major Celebrity’s Phone from Boise River

We’ve all been there before, right?!

Floating the Boise River is one of the most fun ways to cool off when temperatures soar into the triple digits like they’re about to. Although, a day of relaxation could soon turn to panic if you realize that the river has claimed something from your raft. Maybe it’s something that will cause you a minor inconvenience, like a pair of flip-flops you bought at Dollar Tree or gas station sunglasses. No biggie. Those can easily be replaced!

But if it’s something more valuable like your car keys, wallet, smartphone or wedding ring, you're probably bummed picturing it sitting at the bottom of the river, never to be seen again. 

Well, that’s EXACTLY happened to one of the funniest comedians in the world when he and his tourmates decided to float the river before their show at Boise State last weekend! Bert Kreischer, best known for his hysterical “The Machine” story, brought his Fully Loaded Festival to ExtraMile Arena on Friday, July 14. While the show was in Boise, the cast decided to take on one of Boise’s most iconic summer activities and shared their photos on Instagram. 

What they didn’t show you was Kreischer losing his phone during the six-mile journey from Barber to Ann Morrison Park. We found out about that from Boise’s famous “River Robin Hood,” Rocky Detwiler. If you’re not familiar with “River Robin Hood,” he’s a snorkeling enthusiast who hunts the Boise River for treasures regularly. When he comes across something valuable like a cell phone, smartwatch or wallet, he’ll try to reunite them with their owners.

Sometimes he does that by searching for the Medical ID information in a phone if it’s still working. Other times he’ll look through the wallet for an ID or credit card pointing him to the right person. When he comes up short, he’ll post big finds on his Facebook page asking the owners to contact him. People who’ve lost something in the river can contact him through that page and ask him to do a dive. 

Kreischer’s team found him there! According to a post on the River Robin Hood page, he got a text that read: 

“ Hello! We’re in town putting on our comedy festival Fully Loaded and our headliner and festival creator Bert lost his phone in the river. We got your contact as a local legend for recovering things from the venue and I was wondering if we could maybe get some help possibly finding it?”

Detwiler admits that he wasn’t familiar with the comedian before getting that text, but grabbed his gear, plunged into the river and found Kreischer’s phone! He shared these photos of the two of them meeting outside ExtraMile Arena where he returned it. 

Talk about a good news story! Great job, River Robin Hood!

Bert Kreischer’s career has evolved from being Rolling Stone’s 1997 "Number One Partier in the Nation," to one of the top grossing stand-up comics in the business, and most recently, star of a major motion picture. According to Forbes, Kreischer has been hailed as, “one of the best storytellers of his generation, seamlessly and sincerely sharing anecdotes about his family and fatherhood while proving that there’s a way to take his [party-boy] antics into middle-age.”

In March, Kreischer released his highly anticipated 5th stand-up special, Razzle Dazzle and his stand-up specials, Secret Time, The Machine, and Hey Big Boy are currently streaming on Netflix, as well. Razzle Dazzle has charted in the top 5 standup specials on Netflix and has been accompanied by at least one of his other three specials in the top 20 since its debut. Kreischer starred in and produced the film, The Machine, which premiered in the spring of 2023, based on his signature stand-up set recounting his true experience with Russian mobsters while on a booze-soaked college trip. The Machine has been in the top 10 on Netflix since its release on the platform on September 23rd.

Additionally, Kreischer wrapped the second annual Fully Loaded Comedy Festival that hit sixteen of the most iconic ballparks and arenas across the country this summer. Bert is taking Fully Loaded to sea in the fall with the Fully Loaded at Sea Cruise this October and the highly anticipated event sold out in just a few days.

Kreischer is currently on the second leg of his Tops Off World Tour ranging from the US and Canada to Europe, Australia and New Zealand. In addition to being named “one of the US’s top stand-ups over the past decade” by The Guardian, Kreischer is a world-renowned top podcaster hosting Bertcast, with over 500 episodes, and 2 Bears 1 Cave with Tom Segura, which consistently charts in the top 10 comedy podcasts worldwide. Bert also created, hosts, and produces the YouTube cooking show, Something’s Burning, which has gathered over 18.2 million views. On social media, Kreischer boasts impressive numbers, totaling 12.2M fans across all platforms, and 205.7 million total views on his YouTube channel alone.
