Capra and Sanchez 3.0 among new couples as Vienna draw made

Six new men's couples will make their respective debuts at the boss vienna padel open 2023..

Arturo Coello  and  Agustin Tapia  will be the number one seed for the tournament, winning the first seven titles in a row in the 2023 season.

Tapia is the reigning champion on Austrian soil as well, winning the inaugural event in 2022 alongside  Sanyo Gutierrez  as they beat  Juan Lebron  and  Alejandro Galan  in three sets in the final.

The same goes for  Paula Josemaria  and  Ariana Sanchez , who came back to beat  Alejandra Salazar  and  Gemma Triay  in Vienna. 

Six new couples in men's draw

There are six new couples for the Cupra Danish Padel Open on the men's side of things, chief of which  Luciano Capra  and  Maxi Sanchez , who will form the eight-seed.

Capra and Sanchez return as a duo for a third time, having played most of 2021 and 2022 together already. Another couple that returns is the one formed by  Lucas Campagnolo  and  Javi Garrido , who played for a calendar year between late 2021 and late 2022.

Gonzalo Rubio 's partner  Javi Ruiz  has suffered an injury, and the Spaniard has turned to  Alejandro Arroyo  for the Boss Vienna Padel Open.

Women's Boss Vienna Padel Open 2023 draw

The first-round match-ups in Vienna have a lot of promise, with five-seed  Aranza Osoro  and  Lucia Sainz  having to take on  Mari Carmen Villalba  and  Nuria Rodriguez .

Wild cards  Dawn Foxhall  and  Rebeca Fernandez  will make their World Padel Tour debut against six-seed  Virginia Riera  and  Tamara Icardo , while  Mapi  and  Majo Sanchez Alayeto  play  Patty Llaguno  and  Carolina Orsi .

What to expect?

The tournament will  start  on  Tuesday April 23rd  with the Round of 32 and will  end  on  Sunday April 28th with the men and women’s finals.

For the people wanting to discover the sport, the qualifications will occur on April 21st & 22nd at the Tour & Taxis Padel Club , juste next to the Gare Maritime .

There will be  2 sessions per day , one session in the morning from  10am to 4 pm  and one session in the evening from  5pm to 11pm.

6 Belgian wildcards will be played on total, 3 during qualifications and 3 during the main draw .

If your tickets give you access to the central court , there is also a part of the tournament you can access for free . Let us introduce you to the Padel Village & Court n°2 … a space for you to buy you Padel equipment , to witness great games , activations , the Tero bar and, at night, a DJ set.
