okay so i initially wanted to go to the first show at 9 pm, but it was sold out. then i found out a few days later that there was a 2nd show right after at 11 pm, so i immediately bought the tickets to that one. and i got there and it was also packed.
we went inside, there was not a lot of white people. almost none. this is not a bad thing, though. don't get me wrong here. the cool thing about the crowd was that there were a lot of pretty women (in high heels showing the hell out) that came out to the show because obviously bryson tiller is an r&b singer who talks about love and females that he has fell out of it with, so i was expecting that. however, there were also a lot of dudes there. and they were just as excited to see tiller. i cannot front. one reason can be that, obviously, wherever the girls go the guys will follow, but at the same time they really enjoyed the music. i think it was also because bryson tiller was talking from a perspective that a lot of guys find themselves in or are familiar with, which resonates with them. also, the beats are hard, to be vague about it. they just slap. i'm not going into detail on what that means. if you know you know.
anyway, yeah it was a cool show. bryson tiller was swagged out. he did his thing. he's a new artist but he didn't look nervous, but he did look like he was just a bit inexperienced in taking over a stage. i mean, i'm not mad at him. he did his thing, he played all the joints i wanted him to play, and when "don't" came on, THE WHOLE CROWD SANG ALONG. it was crazy.

Having been to nightclub "concerts" in the past, I already knew the main show wouldn't start until 2AM. That was expected, and I figured the soothing sound of Bryson Tiller's voice would make up for the sobering headache and unbearable pain of my heels. What I did not expect was for Bryson Tiller, the headliner, the main attraction, to exit the building without not only failing to perform a single song, but also without even stepping foot on the stage. The only proof that he even graced us with his presence was the MC's announcements that "Bryson Tiller is in the building" and "Bryson Tiller has left the building". If a tree falls in the woods and no ones there to hear it, does it make a sound? If Bryson Tiller shows up at a nightclub and no one even sees him, was he ever actually there? Hmm, seems suspicious to me. What also seems suspicious is the multiple announcements of celebrities that were supposedly in the building, yet were never seen. The only walk through that anyone really noticed was Wiz Khalifa. Other than that, there was a (very long and drawn out) performance by 2chainz, Bryson's co-headliner, in which many people left in the middle of. This will definitely be my last nightclub concert. The next time I go to a concert, it will be at a venue, so I know the concert is more about the actua artist and less about getting heads in the door to promote a nightclub.
I've seen him live in Amsterdam a few months ago. It was his first ever show there and the venue he performed at (Melkweg) was remotely small - he sold it out in a couple of seconds.
Me and my friend got to the venue early and managed to get to the front row! As soon as he came on stage, everyone went crazy. To sum it up for you, the show was amazing. Though there were no big screens with exciting visuals or anything like that (it was just Bryson rocking the stage), every single moment was fun to watch. You could clearly see how much Bryson enjoys performing and how passionate he is about it. All the notes were spot on, there was no lip-syncing: at some points there was a tape playing in the background, but only so he could sing harmonies over it. He nailed both the rap and the singing verses and sounds just as good live as he does on record. If you ever get the chance to attend one of his shows, you should go for it. It's definitely worth it.
AMAZING! The venue was beautiful and had great acoustics and seating. We sat in the 3rd mezzanine which i was worried about but i didn't feel like i missed anything. I could see everything. Bryson Tiller performed all the songs from TRAPSOUL and some songs from his soundcloud and mixtapes. Basically it was lit..i'm glad i went and it was worth every penny. Im looking forward to new music from this guy and possibly seeing him in concert again.
eh....Bryson sounds great but his stage presence is kind of boring. I would have enjoyed actual instruments instead of technology. I cant really pinpoint a super exciting moment throughout the entire show which is disappointing considering we waited an hour and a half for him to come on stage, only to perform for 45 minutes. overall a decent show, but def wasn't one to write home about.
It was a great concert! It was extremely crowded at the venue and the energy Tiller put out there was awesome. He's got cool stage presence as a solo act and he sounds just like his recorded songs. It was a great night besides the fact that my good friend exposed my feelings for my other friend who was there. He doesn't like me back. But wonderful concert! 10 out of 10 would go again!
Best show I've seen in years. The vibes were simply amazing. He sounds even better live in comparison to his recorded tracks, that's not often that an artist is that great. I was able to meet him after the show and I wasn't VIP. Amazing person, artist, and performer. 10/10 Would go to another Tiller concert any day.
Everything about this concert was amazing. It was everything I had hoped for. He mentioned being a little under the weather, but I didn't notice any difference at all! He had amazing energy, as did the crowd, and the venue was remarkable.. All I can think about is the next time I'll be able to see him! :)
The Bryson Tiller concert was amazing! His voice was beautiful throughout, he made good eye contact with all the audience. The opening act "They." Were brilliant too, they got that the crowd really hyped up and had great music. The whole show was amazing to be honest and if I had the chance I'd go again.
The venue was very packed, too many strobe lights and way too many drumming solos by his drummer, and he did a little bit too much talking for my liking. There was also too much coloured smoked so you couldn't see him. I love his music so I did enjoy all the songs. I think I just don't like the venue.

Bryson Tiller is coming to the Highmark Skyline Stage at the Mann on June 7!
Singer/songwriter/rapper, Bryson Tiller, has emerged from the streets of Louisville with his own brand of street soul that musically blends the urgency of trap music with the smoother sound of alternative R&B. He gained mainstream success following the release of his 2015 single "Don't," which peaked at number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and received 7x platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Its success led to a recording contract with RCA Records, who issued "Don't" as the lead single for his debut studio album Trapsoul (2015), which entered the top ten of the Billboard 200.
Trapsoul received triple platinum certification by the RIAA and spawned the follow-up singles "Exchange"—which earned him a Grammy Award nomination—and "Sorry Not Sorry." His second studio album, True to Self (2017) debuted atop the Billboard 200. That same year, he guest featured alongside Rihanna on DJ Khaled's hit single "Wild Thoughts," which peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100. His third album, Anniversary (2020) likewise peaked within the top ten of the chart. His debut extended play (EP), A Different Christmas (2021)—his first holiday album—spawned the single "Lonely Christmas" (featuring Justin Bieber and Poo Bear).
Tiller has received multiple accolades, including two BET Awards for Best New Artist and Best Male R&B/Pop Artist; and in March 2016, he received the key to the city from Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer. He received a total of three Grammy Award nominations, two of which for his work with singer H.E.R. on her 2018 single "Could've Been" and album Back of My Mind (2021).

Bryson Tiller says he 'absolutely' wants to make a rap or pop album next
22 April 2024, 09:00
By Anna Suffolk
In an exclusive chat with Capital XTRA's Manny Norte, Bryson Tiller revealed what genre he'd like his next project to be.
Listen to this article
Bryson Tiller is fresh off the release of his fifth studio album, which is a self-titled release, but has already started thinking about the project afterwards.
The 'Whatever She Wants' singer dropped by to speak to Capital XTRA, including an interview on The Norte Show, where he spoke about what is next for him.
- Watch Bryson Tiller's interview with Capital XTRA Breakfast on Global Player
Tiller had lots to share, from his love for audiences in the UK, as well as declaring his next album will stray from his typical R&B tones.
Speaking to Manny Norte, Bryson said he would "absolutely" love to do a pop or rap album next, but did say it may be a long time before a new project will be released.
He said he wants to create music "everyone can love, not just fans of R&B," and ensured that the genre is in a good state due to artists like Brent Faiyaz and PARTYNEXTDOOR.
Having spent over a decade releasing R&B music, Bryson Tiller opened up about being "a little sick of R&B."
"R&B’s in good hands, but for me personally, I don’t want to make it," he candidly explained to Manny Norte.
Bryson Tiller's most recent album 'Bryson Tiller' includes the viral track 'Whatever She Wants', and has just performed his new tracks across the UK.
He previously told PEOPLE that he has experimented with switching up his sound: "I'm barely rapping on this album at all just because I wanted to be uncomfortable."
"I think that's making some of my fans uncomfortable. Then some of my other fans, they're eating it right up, and I appreciate them for that."

Bryson Tiller's 'Experimental' Album Comes with a Message: 'Only Way You Can Grow Is by Being Uncomfortable' (Exclusive)
F rom 'GTA' influences to his eldest daughter being "tapped in" to his music now, the multi-platinum musician details his latest project to PEOPLE
Bryson Tiller needs little introduction, but allow him to make one again.
It’s been a week since the 31-year-old R&B star released his self-titled album, Bryson Tiller , or BTA for short. He’s currently on the road, promoting it in the U.K. And while he has fans to see all over the world, there’s a few locations responsible for his sound that he can’t tour — specifically the fictional cities of Liberty City, Vice City and Los Santos.
The album, Tiller says, is not only a disruption from what his listeners may be used to, but it’s also a nod to the influence of Grand Theft Auto — the video game franchise with in-game radio stations that he now credits as “the reason why I love so many different genres of music.” BTA is certainly an expression of that love.
“They only loaded up those radio stations with 10, maybe 15 songs. I'd be on the R&B station, the country music station, the hard rock station. That's what opened me up to being able to like so many different genres,” Tiller tells PEOPLE over the phone while on tour.
Like most kids in the early aughts, he “had to sneak and play” Grand Theft Auto 3 to catch a sample of the music that soundtracked the game. But those radio stations left a lasting impression on Tiller, an artist who now channels that same freedom of an open-world video game into his latest effort.

Bryson Tiller is just as much an “experimental” effort as it is a departure from his multi-platinum 2015 debut Trapsoul , Tiller says. Titled to represent his signature blend of hip-hop and R&B, Trapsoul may have been largely responsible for the formation of his fanbase, but this time around (now four albums in), Tiller wanted to “challenge myself” by focusing primarily on his singing.
“I'm barely rapping on this album at all just because I wanted to be uncomfortable,” Tiller admits. “I think that's making some of my fans uncomfortable. Then some of my other fans, they're eating it right up, and I appreciate them for that.”
“For me, just like in the gym, the only way you can grow is by being uncomfortable,” he adds.

Tiller’s push to try something new in BTA comes off in its finished product — a 19-track record that pairs him with several acclaimed producers and songwriters (Boi-1da, Leon Thomas, D’Mile, Kaytranada), treats listeners to atmospheric vocal moments in tracks such as “Waterfalls,” and reconnects him with Grammy champ Victoria Monét for their innuendo-filled bop “Persuasion.”
“I've never collaborated on anything before, I've always written every song by myself,” Tiller says of his songwriting process pre- BTA . “[For this album], we was having these kitchen sessions where we would go in there, we'd turn the microphone on, we'd play 100, 200 beats, and then we find the beat that we liked the most and we'd all write to it together and just try different melodies and have some drinks. Those studio sessions were definitely some of the best — no, not even some of — they were the best studio sessions that I've ever had.”

As for his musical connection to Monét — with whom he previously hopped on a remix last year — Tiller says it all started when he first spun her 2020 project Jaguar .
After he realized that Monét’s music was so "soothing" that it actually helped him fall asleep when he needed to, he “called her up” and they got to work. Tiller then asked Monét to send over some music — specifically stuff she's “not used to hearing me on.”
“She played [‘Persuasion’] for me, and right away I loved it just because, not even necessarily for how it sounded right away, but it was more-so the writing. Because nobody writes songs like that,” he says.
“Nobody writes anything that's that clever anymore,” Tiller adds of their collab, which playfully toys with almost using profanity throughout. “For somebody to make you think they're going to say something and they say something completely different. I mean, if there's another song like that, somebody could please just point me in that direction so I could listen to it. But I'm pretty sure that this was one of the first times it's ever been done. I was just super excited to get on it.”
A father of two, Tiller’s eldest daughter is also getting old enough to really understand her dad’s job — and she too is already a fan of the new album. As he explains, his 10-year-old Harley is already gravitating toward tracks “ Undertow ” and “ Assume the Position .”
“She has Apple Music, and yeah, she's been tapped in, tuning into my album,” he says. “And she texts me and tells me she's so excited. She watches all my performances.”
Performing around the world and recording as frequently as he has in recent years, Tiller admits that he’s still searching for a balance of family life and work. “I haven't really found a good balance for that yet, especially just because I feel like I've been trying to climb back to where I feel like I need to be,” he explains.
“So who knows, maybe it'll be different from here on out now that I have this album out. This was really important for me, because now I feel a bit more free to do whatever the hell I please," he says.
Even a decade in, Tiller is also still adjusting to the downsides that come with his line of work, particularly criticism from listeners. “We do have one life on this earth, man, and I feel like people should do what makes them happy, and music does make me happy for the most part. But I have to be honest, it is pretty draining to record music... for people just to tell me that it sucks. Regardless of whether I believe it's true or not, it's still draining,” he says.
Still, Tiller is proud of the risks he's taken on the new album, and is also eyeing a new creative outlet that channels what connected him to so many genres of music in the first place: Gaming. Just last year, the multi-hyphenate announced his company Trapsoul Games , and with his reconnected love of the medium, he promises to channel his love for story-telling into something fresh.
“I've always had several ideas for video games and, more than anything, I love to tell stories. So that's how I got into music, just because I wanted to tell stories,” he says. “So now, I was like, ‘This is going to be my new form of storytelling through video games.’ So I'm really excited.”
While Tiller didn’t reveal too much about his game design work, he also shares that he loves “the idea of the future” — something that shines through on the sounds and visuals behind his latest effort. And in Tiller's own future, he knows he'll be reflecting fondly on this new album.
“When I’m older and I look back on it, I'm going to be like, ‘Man, I was really being myself on this album, and I really did everything... It's all me,” he says. “I feel like if people don't like that, then they just don't like me, and that's OK with me because the people who do like that stuff or like me for just being myself will show themselves.”
“[When I look at the album before this] I feel like I was limping, just trying to get used to walking again. With this album, the Bryson Tiller album, I'm just full-on sprinting.”
