The Salon at PS

We live in a subscription-obsessed world and there’s a subscription for everything you can imagine, from razors to clothing and even hot sauces. Travel memberships are on the rise, providing new ways to ease some of the stress that comes with traveling these days and help make the journey more seamless.

Whether you’re willing to pay a premium for exclusive travel experiences that provide a little more privacy or you're more budget-conscious and want to find the best travel deals, there’s a membership for every type of traveler. Here are 10 travel memberships that are worth considering.

Wheels Up King Air 350i on runway

Wheels Up offers private jet charter memberships so travelers can access a fleet of aircrafts, including a King Air 350i, an 8-passenger Citation Excel/XLS, and one of the fastest aircrafts, the Citation X. Wheels Up uses a dynamic pricing model offering competitive rates, so members can book flights on-demand with the flexibility to pay as they go.

Additional m embership benefits include invites to signature events, President’s Circle status with Hertz, a complimentary trial of Inspirato Club subscription for 12 months (Core members only), certain perks at select Waldorf Astoria hotels across North America, a partnership with Delta SkyMiles, dedicated partnership rates with Porsche and more.

Membership cost: Three membership options are available – Connect, Core and Business. The Connect membership requires a one-time initiation fee of $2,995 and annual dues of $2,495 which begin on year two. The Core membership has an initiation fee of $17,500 and annual dues of $8,500 which begin on year two. The Business membership requires an initiation fee of $29,500 and $14,500 for subsequent years and includes up to six lead passengers.

A private suite at PS at LAX

Getting through airport security lines can be a drag, especially during holiday weekends and a pandemic that has increased the demand for more seclusion when traveling. PS (formerly known as Private Suite) is designed for first and business class travelers who are seeking privacy and convenience, allowing them to bypass LAX altogether.

Travelers check into a private terminal where they can relax in a fully-stocked luxury private suite that includes complimentary in-suite meals catered by h.wood Group , as well as additional services upon request such as in-suite massages, manicures and detailing services for personal cars. PS also provides a designated on-site TSA and Customs agent for expedited screening.

Upon boarding, travelers are transported across the tarmac directly to their aircraft in a BMW 7 Series sedan. Earlier this year, the Salon at PS launched, which features a new full-service lounge at the terminal for travelers who want the same benefits of PS but seek a more social experience.

Membership cost: Annual membership costs $4,500, which gives members access to a preferred rate of $3,250 for a one-way Suite experience for up to four travelers. The Salon is available to members and non-members for $695 per use per person.

Century Travel Club, the secret club for travelers

Articulo5

“All places are unexplored until one discovers them”. This is the philosophy of Century Travel Club, an exclusive club for travelers who have set foot in at least 100 countries from its list.

Bert Hemphill had the idea of founding the club in 1954. Russell Davidson, who was the Director of Tours in his travel agency in Los Angeles, California, helped him realize it.

TCC currently has 319 qualified countries you can visit to be entitled to a membership. Although there has been much discussion over the years regarding the inclusion of different geographical regions and gray areas, the club rules are simple: just a short stop by plane is enough to qualify as a visit.

The rule of “Pay Back” states that travelers can count their visit to a region recognized as a country in the past for a membership, if it’s eventually replaced by a trip to one of the countries in the current list.

At the time when this club was founded was only possible to do so by boat, now it is easier to travel anywhere in the world. The TCC is still a very exclusive club, today it has 2,000 participants worldwide of which only 14 have traveled to all destinations from the list. John Clouse of Evansville Indiana was the first man to complete the list, and was recognized in 1995 by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most traveled man.

Among the countries consider by the TCC as “qualified destinations” are the 193 entities that are part of the “Member states of the United Nations”, plus another 131 lands with permanent population, including islets as Tristan da Cunha in the Atlantic, Zil Elwannyen Sesel the archipelago in the Indian Ocean, and islands such as Lord Howe and the Marquesas islands in the Pacific. “World Travel is the passport to peace through understanding”.

The Aeroméxico round-the-world ticket is a great way to travel. It seems the more countries you visit, the more of the world you want to see. If you’ve been bitten by the travel bug and you just can’t wait to jetset around the globe, you can book a SkyTeam Go Round The World Pass with Aeroméxico Club Premier Points and see up to 15 countries on a single itinerary.

You might think that a redemption like this is reserved for the super elite of the points and miles world, similar to George Clooney’s character in the film “Up in the Air.” However, you don’t have to fly hundreds of thousands of miles per year to earn enough points for a round-the-world trip.

Let’s take a deep dive into this award redemption that can literally take you around the globe.

What Is an Aeromexico Round The World Ticket?

Aeroméxico is a Mexico-based airline, and it’s a member of the SkyTeam alliance. Airline alliances allow you to book flights on any partner’s flight with the points of another partner.

For instance, if you purchase a flight to Paris through Delta Air Lines, you might notice that the flight is operated by Air France. That is because Delta and Air France are both SkyTeam members, allowing you to book an Air France ticket with your Delta SkyMiles.

No single airline services the entire globe. However, as an alliance, SkyTeam has a worldwide reach. A round-the-world ticket allows you to book a trip visiting multiple countries all over the world on one pre-planned itinerary. Each stay in a city is known as a stopover. These aspirational trips are a bucket list for many.

Does that sound like a dream trip? Let’s look at how you can book a trip like this on your own.

aeromexico

Aeromexico SkyTeam Round The World Pass Rules

The SkyTeam Round the World Pass from Aeroméxico is a fairly straight forward ticket in comparison to those offered by competitors.

Club Premier permits up to 15 stopovers with a maximum of five stopovers on each continent. Neither the city you depart from nor the city where you end your trip count as stopovers. Although you need to arrive in the same country as you left, you don’t need to end your trip in the same city.

Travel must be around the world in a continuous direction. For instance, you could leave from San Francisco (SFO), visit five cities in Asia, five cities in Africa, five in Europe and finish your trip in New York (JFK). However, you can’t start in New York, go to Europe and then reverse direction to South America.

Because Aeroméxico is a SkyTeam partner, all flights must be on participating SkyTeam carriers. The biggest challenge to booking this trip is locating availability for each flight. Although it’s possible to buy a round-the-world ticket in business or economy class, you can’t mix and match classes of service—you have to find availability in the same class of service for the whole journey.

An Aeroméxico round-the-world ticket is good for 365 days, so you can spend an entire year traveling the globe and stay for as long as you want at any stopover destination.

Before we dive into how to plan your globetrotting trip of a lifetime, let’s dig a little deeper into some of the key rules.

Travel in the Same Direction

The general direction of your trip has to be the same. You must be moving either east or west without backtracking. There are data points that suggest that this rule has a little bit of wiggle room, especially if you’re backtracking slightly to reach a SkyTeam hub. However, backtracking between continents or regions won’t work.

Must Begin and Return in the Same Country

Your trip around the world actually has to go around the world. Although you don’t have to start and finish your trip in the same city, you must finish in the same country. Furthermore, if your trip begins with a transpacific flight, it must end with a transatlantic flight (or vice-versa).

For example, you can’t leave from San Francisco to Japan and end your trip by flying from Europe to South America to the United States. However, you can begin your trip with South America as your first destination and then fly over the Pacific Ocean to Asia afterward.

The SkyTeam Go Round The World Pass must contain at least one transpacific flight, one transatlantic flight and at least one transcontinental flight between the Middle East, Africa and Asia and contain a minimum of three stopovers.

Aeroméxico divides the world into the following regions: North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania (Australia) and Asia. You’ll want to take these regions one at a time in the direction of your choice.

Stop Requirements

Round-the-world tickets through Aeroméxico allow up to 15 stopovers. A stopover is a stay in a city longer than 24 hours. There’s an exception to this.

If your flight between stopovers is scheduled as an “immediate connection,” but the time between flights leaves you in the city longer than 24 hours, it won’t count as a stopover. If a flight delay or routing change leaves you in a city over the 24-hour mark, this won’t count against you. However, we wouldn’t recommend trying to milk an extra stopover out of this provision. Fifteen cities is plenty, right?

Aeroméxico requires that you include at least three stopovers on your round-the-world ticket, not including the departure city or the final arrival city. In general, you must progress from one stopover city to another stopover city.

Open-jaw flights are possible. An open-jaw ticket is when you arrive in one city but depart from a different one and travel between cities by land or a flight booked separately. SkyTeam refers to this as “surface sector transportation.” However, an open-jaw itinerary counts as two stopovers, so we don’t recommend it, unless you have stopovers to spare. Why drive when you can book 15 flights for the same price?

Class of Service

Aeromexico Go Round the World Passes have a set redemption rate per class of service, regardless of number of flight segments or miles flown. You may fly around the world in economy or in business class, but your entire trip must be in the same class. You can pay to upgrade an individual flight from economy to business. Prices vary and are based on availability.

It’s hard to imagine wanting to traverse the entire globe in economy. There are a few reasons you might want to do it.

Because a round-the-world ticket is good for a full year, you may spread the flights out sufficiently that each flight puts you in coach for a few hours at a time, making the potential points savings worth it and the burden of a long ride in economy lighter. Additionally, economy space is much easier to find. If your dates aren’t flexible, you may be forced to book space in coach to complete the trip.

Mileage Requirements

Economy aeromexico round the world mileage requirements.

What’s great about an Aeromexico round-the-world ticket is its simple pricing. Economy tickets require 224,000 Club Premier Points no matter how many miles flown, flights taken or countries visited.

Although this price tag may seem steep, consider that a one-way Delta flight from New York (EWR) to Paris (CDG) is 95,700 Club Premier Points. As you can see, getting up to 17 flights for 224,000 points is a much more efficient use of Club Premier Points.

Business Aeromexico Round The World Mileage Requirements

Similar to economy tickets, business round-the-world tickets from Aeroméxico also have a set rate regardless of the number of flights. A SkyTeam Go Round the World Pass in business class requires 352,000 Club Premier Points. When you consider that you are upgrading up to 17 flights from economy to business for 128,000 points, that’s a really great deal!

How to Earn Aeromexico Club Premier Points

While you probably have never earned Aeroméxico Club Premier Points, plenty of bank programs partner with Club Premier.

American Express Membership Rewards, Brex, Capital One Venture Miles, Citi ThankYou Points and Marriott Bonvoy points all transfer to Aeroméxico. Different rewards programs have different transfer ratios, so let’s dive into each program.

American Express Membership Rewards

Membership Rewards are the best points to transfer to Aeroméxico Club Premier because they convert at a ratio of 1:1.6. Because of this favorable ratio, you need just 140,000 Membership Rewards points to purchase a Go Round the World Pass in economy class and 220,000 points to purchase a Go Round the World Pass in business class.

Additionally, American Express often offers bonus transfer ratios of up to 25%, dropping the number of points needed even lower.

You can sign up for several Amex cards to earn Membership Rewards, including the American Express® Gold Card , The Platinum Card® from American Express and the Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express .

Brex is a business cash management account that comes with an associated corporate card. Although not technically a credit card, it awards points based on the spending history of the card. However, it allows you to spend the money that you have in a linked business checking account only.

Brex Rewards transfer to Aeroméxico Club Premier at a rate of 1:1. You must transfer at least 500 Brex points to complete a transfer.

Capital One

Capital One Venture Miles have added Aeroméxico to its long list of transfer partners . Venture Miles transfer at a rate of 1:1, so you’ll need 224,000 Venture Miles for a Go Round the World Pass in economy and 352,000 miles for a Go Round the World Pass in business class.

Capital One doesn’t offer transfer bonuses as often as American Express does, but it’s still a good idea to keep an eye out for any bonuses that might make your Venture Miles go further.

Citi ThankYou points also transfer to Aeroméxico at a 1:1 ratio. Economy round-the-world tickets require 224,000 ThankYou Points, and business tickets require 352,000 points.

Citi is pretty sensitive to recent inquiries, so if you’re thinking about signing up for multiple cards to complete this trip and you’re already over 5/24 with Chase, this might be the best card to start with.

Citi ThankYou Points

after making $4,000 in purchases with your card within the first 3 months of account opening. Plus, for a limited time, earn a total of 10 ThankYou® Points per $1 spent on hotel, car rentals, and attractions (excluding air travel) booked on the Citi Travel℠ portal through June 30, 2024.

Marriott Bonvoy points aren’t often thought of as a transferable point currency, and for good reason. Their paltry transfer rate of 3:1 means it’s rarely a good idea to use Bonvoy points for a flight redemption.

However, if you transfer 60,000 Bonvoy points, you’ll get a 5,000-point bonus, making the rate effectively 3:1.25. Still not great, but if you’re just a handful of miles shy of completing this bucket-list trip, you might need to make this move.

To purchase an entire economy Aeroméxico round-the-world ticket with Bonvoy points, you would have to transfer 540,000 Bonvoy points and a laughable 845,000 points for a business-class ticket. You’ll likely need multiple programs to complete this redemption, especially if you’re traveling with a family, so it’s good to know this option is available.

How to Book an Aeromexico Round The World Ticket

Once you have the requisite points to purchase an Aeroméxico round-the-world ticket, it’s time to reserve your itinerary. Let’s look at how to book the SkyTeam Go Round The World Pass step by step.

Find Your Flights

Because your flight must go around the world, and the whole point of this trip is to see as many places on one itinerary, finding your flights might be a long process. We recommend starting to think through your tentative itinerary while you earn the points you need for the trip.

Remember, Aeroméxico is a Mexican airline, so some of the most advantageous routes may connect through cities you don’t often think of as international hubs, such as Mexico City (MEX).

Delta is the go-to SkyTeam partner that shows the most accurate availability. Its user interface and a price calendar will come in handy as well.

Remember to keep the main rules in mind while making your plan. You need one transpacific flight, one transatlantic flight and a flight between the SkyTeam regions.

You might settle on something like this:

  • Atlanta (ATL) to Cancun, Mexico (CUN), on Delta
  • Cancun to Mexico City on Aeroméxico
  • Mexico City to Sydney (SYD) on Delta
  • Sydney to Seoul, South Korea (ICN), on Korean Air
  • Seoul to Bangkok (BKK) on Korean Air
  • Bangkok to Nairobi, Kenya (NBO), on Saudia
  • Nairobi to Amsterdam (AMS) on KLM
  • Amsterdam to Paris on Air France-KLM
  • Paris to Sao Paulo (GRU) on Air France
  • Sao Paulo to Atlanta on Delta

Even after all this globetrotting, we could still add five more stops! Notice that we filled all the requirements. We have a transpacific flight from Mexico City to Sydney, a transatlantic flight from Paris to Sao Paulo and a cross-regional flight from Nairobi to Amsterdam, among others.

Once you have a general idea of the cities you’d like to visit and which SkyTeam partner services the route, you’ll want to write down the exact dates and flight numbers—you’ll need them to reserve your ticket.

Remember, you must return within a year from your date of first departure. Otherwise, there’s no limit on how long you can remain in each city.

Transfer Miles

Once you have your list of flight numbers and dates, it’s time to transfer your points for your purchase. You’ll need to amass a total of 244,000 points for a round-the-world ticket in economy or 352,000 points for a business-class ticket.

If you have 140,000 Membership Rewards, we recommend moving those. If you’re short, pool any combination of the points above until you have the necessary points in your Club Premier account.

Before transferring these points, you may want to call Aeroméxico and do a dry run of the booking just to get familiar with the process and make sure you understand everything correctly.

Nobody enjoys waiting on hold twice to book the same ticket, but Aeroméxico has few lucrative points redemptions. You wouldn’t want to convert more than 200,000 flexible points into Club Premier points and end up not using them.

Call Aeromexico to Book a Round The World Ticket

Once your points are properly positioned, it’s time to book your round-the-world ticket. Unfortunately, these itineraries are too complicated to be purchased online. You’ll have to call the Aeroméxico U.S. reservation line at 855-412-2650.

While on the phone, take a breath. This is a complicated booking with a lot of moving parts, and it’s probable the agent you work with hasn’t booked a lot of round-the-world tickets. If you get an agent who doesn’t seem to know what they’re doing, hang up and call again. It may take a few tries before you complete your travel plans.

Now all you have to do is plan lodging for each city you’ll be visiting.

FAQs About Aeromexico Round The World Tickets

How many taxes and fees can i expect to pay.

Although you’ll pay for the bulk of your Aeroméxico round-the world-ticket with points, you’ll still have to pay taxes and fees. Aeroméxico does pass these on to the traveler.

These fees vary based on routes and flight operators and will likely be in thousands of dollars. For instance, the estimated fees and taxes for the itinerary in our example are $1,082.

How Does This Compare to Other Popular Round-The-World Options

There are two other airline alliances that offer round-the-world tickets.

The most popular round-the-world ticket through Star Alliance is by ANA . This ticket is often cheaper than the SkyTeam Go Round The World Pass from Aeroméxico, but it limits your stops to eight with a maximum of 12 segments. Aeroméxico’s ticket doesn’t limit segments or distance, and you’re able to visit up to 15 cities.

Additionally, while Membership Rewards transfer to Aeroméxico at a ratio of 1:1.6, they transfer to ANA at an even ratio of 1:1.

The third main airline alliance is Oneworld. Qantas is one of the best partners for purchasing these tickets, although the prices are comparable to SkyTeams Go Round the World Pass, they only allow five stopovers.

If you are looking to purchase a round-the-world ticket rather than utilize points, the Global Explorer ticket that can be purchased directly from Oneworld allows you to pick the cities on the itinerary but schedule the flights as you go, allowing for maximum flexibility or, if you are a type-A planner, maximum anxiety.

The more cities you plan to visit, the more attractive Aeroméxico’s round-the-world ticket appears. However, for such a large redemption, it would definitely make sense to price out your itinerary using each alliance’s round-the-world ticket before booking.

What Is the Cancellation Policy of Round-TheWorld Tickets Booked with Aeromexico Club Premier?

Changing or canceling the first flight of your round-the-world trip booked with Aeroméxico will result in a $200 change fee and a refund of your Club Premier Points (terms apply). However, remember that now you’re stuck with points that can’t be converted back into the transferable points currency you used to book the trip.

Once your trip begins, you’re permitted to change the dates of your flights without a fee (subject to availability). While airline policies are softening over change fees, they may very well become less flexible as global travel increases. Confirm the cancellation policy with your booking agent in case any changes have occurred since the writing of this article.

Final Thoughts

A trip around the world is the pièce de résistance of the points and miles world. There’s a reason that George Clooney’s million-mile character purchased his sister this once-in-a-lifetime trip for her honeymoon.

A round-the-world trip is not as difficult to earn as many think. If you earn enough Membership Rewards or other transferable points to purchase this ticket, you can visit up to 15 countries using the SkyTeam Go Round The World Pass. Although a trip of this length takes a lot of planning, the planning is half the fun!

What countries will you visit when you go around the globe with Aeroméxico?

Chase Sapphire Preferred

New to the world of points and miles? The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card is the best card to start with.

Review: Best Vacation & Travel Clubs In The World

Vacation and Travel Clubs are one of the big things to hit the travel market in recent years. Updating the traditional timeshare model, instead of being tied to a specific property, club members purchase points or pay a flat annual fee and this can be redeemed against different vacations each year. The huge bonus for luxury travellers is the clubs negotiate impressive discounts with hotels, resorts, attractions and excursions, so if you’d usually stay 4-star, with a Vacation Club chances are you’ll be able to afford to stay 5-star. The clubs vary hugely, read on for our tips of the Best Vacation and Travel Clubs.

1. Hotels Etc.

With a network of more than 500,000 luxury hotels, condos, and resorts in over 141 countries, Hotels Etc . are an excellent choice for frequent travellers.

Established in 1996, their dedicated team has negotiated some of the biggest travel discounts on the internet available exclusively for their members. One of their key differentiators over some of the competitors is that they do not add commissions or fees to your bookings and instead pass all the savings directly to their members. Their goal is to help you travel the world for less, perfect for us luxury travellers who have certain standards which can be costly to maintain!

Hotels Etc. don’t sell travel, instead they negotiate discounts that they pass on solely to their members. Typically, you can expect to save up to 70% – and it’s not just accommodation either; theme parks, movies, restaurants, shows, concerts, tours, kayaking and excursions are all included and all are available at those excellent discounted rates.

They are a professional business who pride themselves on offering great customer service alongside their exceptional travel discounts. Their members tend to stick around for the long term and boast of discounts of 80%, of being able to stay in hotels that appeared to be sold out and of saving hundreds of pounds over the years. They also contest that they often beat corporate rates with Hotels Etc and so work well for business trips too. Top resorts include GrandView Resort, Las Vegas, Vacation Village at Parkway, Orlando and a variety of beautiful properties in Puerto Vallarta and Cancun in Mexico.

Ritz-Carlton Destination Club

Several vacation clubs are run by a sole hotel or resort group. One of our favourites is the Ritz-Carlton Destination Club which offers privileged access to the world of The Ritz-Carlton and Marriot hotels. They run an equity-based points program and have residences in Lake Tahoe, San Francisco, Aspen, Beaver Creek, Vail, Jupiter, Hawaii, Maui, Bahamas, and St Thomas.

Marketing themselves as a luxury destination club, Inspirato offer more than 900 vacation options. Pick from residences, hotels, resorts, cruises, yachts and custom experiences. Travel designers design your vacations and choose from membership options which include Key, Family and Executive.

The Hideaways Club

The Hideaways Club have offices are in Europe but they operate worldwide, focusing on exclusive residences, so villas, chalets and apartments rather than hotels. They target high net worth individuals and operate a Concierge Service too.

Travel club Palladium is a scam

This club is a big scam. We sign up for the 10 years package and paid over $2000.00 usd in June. I tried to use the world pass to book a flight the phone number just kept on ringing without an answer all so the numbers on the travel club cards no answer. I tried emailing reservation at world pass. Still waiting for a reply. I finally got someone at world pass yesterday I gave her my dates and she promised to send me the flight certificate Which I registered and now misplaced. I'm still waiting for the email and my booking. On Sepember 4 I received another sale pitch if I pay off another 2 yrs I would receive another promotion. It appears that all they do is offer to sell you things that's not delivered and pocket your hard earned money. More

  • Room service

Background: I spent a week at the Grand Palladium with a large group of friends and family. This trip was two years in the planning and everyone was excited for the trip. Each adult paid approximately $950 - two people per room. With airfare, the trip cost us approximately $2700. We went in August, so the heat and humidity was stifling to say the least. Tip #1...Do not go during the hottest months of the year. It doesn't matter how good the package deals are...it's simply not worth the misery. Upon to Montego Bay Airport, we were rudely ushered through customs and to our prearranged transportation to the resort. Its about a 1 hour bus trip to the resort. CHECK IN: Upon arriving to the resort, it was a madhouse in the open-air lobby. There is no air conditioning and the ceiling fans do not help. We stood for over an hour waiting for one of the staff to gather our group's room keys and check us in. We were soaked from sweating by the time we got our keys and found our rooms. There doesnt seem to be a organized check-in system. It was very chaotic. The resort knew that we were traveling as a group, yet some rooms were clear on the other side of the resort- well away from the group. THE PROPERTY: The Grand Palladium is a sprawling property that is split into two resorts with the Lady Hamilton side on the left, and the GP Jamaica side on the right. In the middle are the buffets, restaurants, lobbies, entertainment areas, pools, and shops. There are 20 villas on each side of the property. Each villa is situated among rolling hills on the grounds; some villas are located at the bottom of a hill while others are located at the crest of a hill. Each villa is three-stories tall and there is NO elevator. To walk from one side of the property to the other takes about 25 minutes. My point is that you need to plan on doing a lot of walking, hill climbing, and stair climbing to navigate this resort. You need to be relatively physically fit or you'll be miserable. Because the resort forgot about us, they did not have a room for us with our group. They put us on the Lady Hamilton side of the resort in villa #40...the rest of our group were in buildings #16-19. Trying to catch up with our group and find them in the resort each morning was challenging, but we managed. I asked each day to be relocated to be with my family to no avail. SHUTTLE SERVICE: There are large golf carts that encircle the property every 15 minutes. These shuttles are to take you around the property. They are hit or miss. If you come out to catch a ride and the shuttle is nearby or just passed you, they dont stop or come back for you. You just have to wait for the next one. Sometimes a half-full shuttle would pass us walking and not even stop. That was maddening given the extreme heat and up/down terrain of the property. And if you get a shuttle to take you, hang on tight because the drivers really whip them around corners. Its not a gentle ride. THE ROOM: The room itself was gorgeous. The travertine floors were beautiful and the furnishings were a mix of modern and British Colonial. It had a king-sized bed, mini-refrigerator that is restocked daily, and a flat-screen tv. The toilet and shower were enclosed with contemporary heavy frosted glass. The room had a jetted tub and a nice balcony. Our room stewardess, Ms. James was very friendly and kept our room spotless. The room itself was A+. FOOD: The resort is an all-inclusive resort (ie, food and alcohol included.) The buffets were average at best. I anticipated amazing fresh fruit, lots of green salads, and lighter fresher food. I assumed island food would be presented beautifully. It wasnt. Although we didnt starve, the buffets were disappointing. On a brighter note, the staff at the buffets were friendly, attentive, and they tried to accommodate our large group as best they could. We appreciated that. We tried the Poseidon Seafood restaurant. The food was good, but the service was miserably slow. The service was noticeably inconsistent as some people that arrived later with larger groups were served and finished long before we got our meals -and we had ordered first. We waited 30-40 minutes between courses. The table next to us sat down just a few minutes after us. When we left, they still had not gotten their dinners. The restaurant wasnt full, so we couldnt figure out whey the service was so inconsistent. The Jerk Hut (located on Sunset Beach at the far west end of the property) was the culinary highlight of the trip. We ate at the Jerk Hut 6 out of the 7 days we were there. The chicken was perfectly spiced and cooked on the open grills, and the hot bbq sauce was amazing. The seafood paella that accompanies the jerk chicken was every bit as good as I've ever had. It had a smoked flavor through it and it was full of mussels, and shrimp. I dont think that many resort guests realize there is a jerk hut on the property...either that or its just too far to bother getting to. That is such a shame because it really is that good! The Jerk Hut is an AAA++ hidden gem. SPA: I had two massages while I was there. Both were relaxing and the staff were pleasant. They arent overly friendly nor do they smile much, but perhaps that is a cultural thing. The staff wasnt rude, but you dont get a feeling of being welcome either. The prices were a high, but I expected that given I was at a resort. The treatment rooms were beautifully decorated and the atmosphere was very tranquil. The pools, saunas, and other amenities of the spa were very nice. We saw other guest wearing white robes in the spa. We requested and were given robes, as they were not offered otherwise. ENTERTAINMENT: The casino was fun. Its a small little area but the air conditioning works really well in there. We had drinks and played the 2-cent slots. The disco was fun and the party was non-stop in there. The sports bar was a great place to watch sports and play pool. The onion rings were very good and the bartender was such a nice guy. He seemed to enjoy his job and encouraged us to try some new things each night. EXCURSIONS: We booked two excursions through the resort. The prices were good and the excursions lasted approximately 10 hours each day. It was nice to get out and see some of the island. We did Dunn River Falls one day- which is a must. It was a bit scary and exhilarating at the same time. The water was beautiful and there are guides there that will help you up the falls...every step of the way. Do it. You wont be sorry. SHOPPING: We got plenty of souvenirs at the various shops on the Grand Palladium property. There is a good variety of things offered from t-shirts to African masks. The prices were okay...just pay attention to the signs and specials. The staff in the stores hover a bit too much I think. Maybe there is a theft problem...I'm not sure. But the store clerks stay with you step for step. TRAVEL CLUB MEMBERSHIP: The Grand Palladium offers an "opportunity" to join their membership club. There is a required 90-minute presentation where they show you the various levels of rooms available, then at the very end they take you to the "Finance Area" where the cost is finally revealed to you. The membership starts at about $15K and goes up to like $70K, depending on the level and duration that you choose. Given the cost and our disappointment with the resort overall, we declined the membership. For us, it just wasnt worth it. To be fair, we did seek out guests that were already members (as identified by their blue wristbands) and asked them about their experiences. The couple I spoke to at length had been members for years and had just renewed their membership. The were very pleased and said that they were on the island for their "free" week. So it just depends on if the program makes sense for you individually or not. Overall, the Grand Palladium scored a 5 out of 10. The anticipation of the trip was truly a let down...it never lived up to the hype. The room, the swimup bar, and the Jerk Hut were the best parts. If I won a trip to the Grand Palladium and the trip were completely free, I'd go again. But if I had to pay again, I'd skip it. By the 4th day, I was ready to go home. The chaotic set up, the distance to everything, the rude and aloof staff...the disappointing food left me longing for a nice cruise ship. It's such a shame because the property and setting is gorgeous.

Had the best time staying at the grand palladium.. Food was amazing .. Hotel was clean .. Quick service .. Entertainment was fantastic. Had an amazing experience staying here. And it was made 10x better by the staff. Nabby, red stripe, Tyson, Damoy, macaroni and fluffy! Made us welcome.. Had so much fun playing the games with them, so much so .. We will be back .. :)

Dear Courtxxxxxxx, Greetings to you our valued guest. We are pleased to know that you enjoyed your vacation at our beautiful Resort. It is delightful that you felt right at home and that you loved the hospitality received from our team of ladies and gentlemen, who made your stay fabulous! We appreciate your positive comment about the staff who were mentioned. We do invite you to visit again in the near future to once more have a Grand vacation with us. It was our pleasure having you. Kind regards,

First off, the resort is absolutely beautiful and in a pretty cool location. As with any All Inclusive resort, it's your own fault if you starve. Cool Members only bar and beach area on the Lady Hamilton side but quite the hike if you are staying on the Jamaica side. They do offer shuttle service around the resort but they are not in a hurry to get to you when you call or ask for a cart. Room service is an absolute joke as it took 2 hours to get 2 appetizers. Food in buffets were the same everyday and was true "resort food". No local flair or personalization at all. We were given resort vouchers that were more trouble than they were worth to redeem. Rooms definitely need detail cleaning. Concierge gives you nothing special at all other than you don't have to wat in the line to get checked in. They book your reservations for you at the a large carte restaraunts. We did an exchange through RCI and we're put into the Travel Club but this was royally screwed up and it left the travel club personnel and us with trying to sort it out. Bottom line, I have stayed in numerous all inclusive resorts in many locations and while I really enjoyed Jamaica and the area we were in, I probably would not do this particular resort again. Ricardo the the Travel Club bar and Jonathon at the pool bar were awesome and made the stay better every day.

Dear RandyH1012, Greetings to you our valued guest. We are pleased to know that you enjoyed your vacation at our beautiful Resort. It is delightful that you felt right at home and that you loved the hospitality received from our team of ladies and gentlemen, who made your stay fabulous! It was our pleasure hosting you and we would love the opportunity of hosting you in the near future, so you may once more have a vacation nothing short of Grand! Please feel free to contact us if there is anything that we can do to assist from this end. Kind regards,

The resort is beautiful, just like the pictures. The food was okay but not really Jamaica, they seem to cater more for the American visitors, American style food. Corn dogs extra... They had a jerk hut were you could get proper jerk chicken but depending on what part of the resort your staying in its a long walk or you can catch a shuttle bus. The room service was terrible and staff attitude could be better towards complaints. The kids club was great, my son loved it and the staff were great with him. Definitely entertaining for children. The kids pool is really nice and spacious.

I just got back from 5 nights honeymoon. I met great people and had a lot of fun JUST BECAUSE OF THE PEOPLE my husband and I met!!! Although I read a lot of bad reviews about this property I still went on with a positive mind so here is my review! The grounds of the resorts are great, they keep it very clean and my rooms was clean on time every single day! We got there and got greeted and welcomed with some fruit punch drinks, the check in process was quick and easy, we arrived there around 3:15pm or so...please be aware THIS RESORT IS NOT IN MONTEGO BAY!! SO IT IS FAR FROM EVERYTHING!!!! We got our keys, but the front desk agent just gave us a bunch of papers and didm;t explain anything to us as of what's on the resort, she didn't mention the ''coupon book either'' she only gave us our keys and asked us if we were celebrating anything(which we had email the resort ahead to let them know if was our honeymoon) she gave us our keys and sent us our ways. I was happy we were in villa 12, which is close to the main pools, restaurants and buffets. I was so happy about that since the shuttle don't past as often and you will be walking ALOT!!! you will call them on the phone and it will literally take up to 30 minutes to an hour for them to pick you up!! The room was nice and I was happy we were on the first floor, we didn't have to be going up and down the stairs as there's no elevators. We had a partial ocean view room with a private patio which was cool. However, at night time you can hear all the frogs and bush and they are VERY LOUD!!! The property itself it's BEAUTIFUL!! the staff...RUDE! some of them are nice I must say and do things without expecting anything from you but some look like they do not want to be bothered by you at all!! I am not sure if is a cultural thing but it's pretty bad!!!Alot of us spend a lot of money going on this vacation and we want to receive nothing but great service!! I have stayed in different properties in different countries and this is by far, the worst service I have ever experience!!!! Housekeeping: Whoever was cleaning my room was AMAZING!! extra towels everyday!! she even organized my shoes...I left tips because she did some an amazing job. We noticed people don't really tip, remember folks, this is a foreign country and this people don't get pay much! Whenever we had somebody giving us a good service we tipped!! Food: If you love food like me(although I get full pretty fast) this property isn't for you!! the food is horrible!!!!!! on the first night we went to the steak house.. My husband ordered a steak and it was COLD!! it tasted really bad. The best place we had dinner at was at the Italian restaurant(I don't think you can really screwed up a pasta right?) we had dinner there with a couple we met and it was really good. On the second night, we went to have breakfast at the buffet again COLD!! we went there right at 8:00!! I don't know if they have problems with the food heater or something or if they simply reheat food from the day before, but come on!! I have never eaten a fried egg COLD!! They do not change the breakfast menu at all!! EVERYDAY is the same exact food and for the most part they have way to much sweet stuff(Pancakes, churros, donuts, crepes, cake). On the 3rd night, we went to the Jamaican restaurant, my husband ordered the curry goat and I ordered a pasta(I really thought no one could screwed up a pasta)WELL..i was wrong!!!! it was literally a boil pasta with a bunch of vegetables on top, no flavors not nothing!! My husbands food..COLD again!! They really need to step up their game with the food!!! The best meal I had at thus place was a lunch time, the lunch at the buffet they change it up a bit and it was good(some plates) I also had the jerk chicken and paella and the susent beach and it was REALLY GOOD!! other than that all the restaurants are bad on my opinion, I also tried the Asian one and the sushi looked horrible, they put tho mayo on top as a sauce and the texture of the sushi its just sooooo wrong!! I ordered the japans rice and it wasn't bad.,...but guess what? COLD!! I don't know if its that the waiter forgets about picking up the food and bringing it to the table right away or what. There was not wait time at all, the most we waited was probably 5 minutes in all the restaurants we tried. The other couple we met tried the Mexican restaurant as well and it was SUPER BAD!! Drinks: The drinks are really good!!!I don't think they water down the drinks at all, they are pretty strong and trust me!! it will hit you!! They had a foam party while we were there and we had a lot of fun!! my only problem is, they do not advertise or tell customers about the activities going on, we just found out about it because we were in the pool already, same thing with the beach party!! We did 2 excursion and it was so much fun!! we booked thru the same agency we booked our transfer and it was fantastic!! The only down fall, the hotel is really far and it took us 2 hours to get to our excursions!! The entertainment team is great!!The shows at night were amazing!! They have great dancers we even got to participate in one of the games hosted by the entertainment team and it was so much fun!!! We really enjoyed it I didn't like the photographers wanting to take pictures of you all the time!! and if they show you the pictures and you don't want to buy it they get rude!!! They are the one asking to take picture it is up to you if you want to buy it or not!! PLUS 16 dollars for 1 picture??? really?? NO THANKS Please note people ALWAYS ask for tips, on the bus ride from the airport, on the tour bus, on the catamaran cruise, on the duns fall, the person who was service the food at the excursion site!! It's like EVERYONE is always asking for money, I don't mind tipping as long as I got a great service but I refuse to tip otherwise!! Bottom line is, would I go back to Jamaica? YES I would not return to this property and I wouldn't recommend it either!!! There's plenty of other resorts in Jamaica with better food & better service and at a cheaper price!! This resort its too far from EVERYTHING!! and it gets boring at night

Thanks to World Traveler Club

Thanks to World Traveler Club and their deal alerts, I found an airline sale and I could catch a good price for flights from Germany to USA. It was about 30% cheaper as usually. I can recommend a membership. :-)

I use WTC for now more than 4 years

I use WTC for now more than 4 years. The side is getting better from month to month. I made cool trips with business class for about 50% of the regular price. I just copy the deal I found on the WTC side and give it to my local travel agent that’s all

I had a great experience with my WorldTravelerClub subscription

I had a great experience with WorldTravelerClub. I was hesitant at first because it was subscription based but it turned out to be totally worth it! The subscription is affordable and, with one booking, you'll save exponentially more than the cost of the subscription. If you're someone like me who enjoys flying in business class for economy class fares, this site is 100% for you!

It's definitely worth it!

I recently joined WTC. It was one of my best decisions! New Deals are appearing non-stop, + you can find all kinds of good deals there. Cheap economy flights, business class, first class deals, hotels, etc. Also, their forum is great! You can learn new stuff or discuss some topics all the time! Great team and support! This site is for everyone regardless of their location! It's definitely worth it!

Best deals ever!!

This is appreciation post for one of the moderators of the website @Solidgold Remington for helping this clueless girls from third-world country (Myanmar) to travel to Italy with amazing deals for business class! I subscribed as gold member first using promo code Solidgold and now I upgraded to platinum ! I wish I did it earlier! He personally helped me find THE BEST DEALS and point out which is bad & which is good on my own finds. Now I paid only $1625 return flight for business class with Oman Air (from RGN-MXP)! This is the same price I paid for Emirates economy (from RGN-CDG) last August! Of coz pls dun compare Oman and emirates A380 business class. I am comparing economy & business class here. Coz of unfortunate events in my poor country, it’s been a while that we have to travel to Bkk first to take long hauls flight. (Going to immigration in and out, claiming baggages only to go sleep at airport hotels just to check in another flight next day) were NOT comfortable at all. Time & energy consuming and more expensive. That’s why I appreciate his help more! Soo happy I am platinum member of worldtravelerclub.com 💕 if I could I would pay 10 stars!!! #ThankYou
