There are some flaws in having a new guide in each city because the quality of them is not consistent. One or two are well below par. However, the itinerary covers the big hitters in China of the Great Wall (and camping there!), Pandas, terracotta, shanghai and Beijing. For the full 25 tour I really felt I had seen so much of China and its culture. Not every place is worth a visit, such as moganshan (pointless) and for some Shaolin (though I enjoyed it). The appalling WiFi, toilets and spitting in China are the real downers of this wonderful country but the rest was a pure joy to me. The food was amazing and I much preferred it to the awful seafood I endured in Japan. The people who organise the camping at the Great Wall need to be told how to run a campsite. There was no firewood, the rain we were told is that it was raining (tarpaulin maybe!), filth and rubbish everywhere. Poor quality tents and sleeping bags. To make things easier for them they made us carry half of the sleeping bags up the steep slope during a downpour and put the waterproofed tents in the back of a mule, covered from the elements. The result was that the sleeping bags were all sodden and 18 people abandoned the campsite to go a guesthouse. Some of the crappy tents blew over in the wind at night. Not good. For those that braved the elements the walk on the wall next morning was spectacular. Great value trip though. I spent about another £1000 on top in food and trips.

Real China Highlights

This trip is listed as a fairly comprehensive look at China today and doesn't disappoint. From Beijing to Hong Kong and everything in between. Staying in Hotels and sleeping on trains makes this a real adventure. The trip visits all the expected features as well as many that are less well known, but equally wonderful (I know, too many words. edit as you see fit)

We were so fortunate to have Qin as our guide on this tour. She took us to so many places, that we would likely not have found on our own. I was particularly impressed by the fact she was able to order us the local delicacies of every place we visited - I have never eaten so much delicious food. Qin's hometown of Yangshuo was the highlight for me, as not only was it absolutely beautiful, but her personal connections with the city and it's people, made it an extra special experience. As a group, we concluded that the bike ride Qin took us on along the river, should be included in the cost, rather than as an additional activity, as it was truly one of the most breathtaking rides we'd ever been on. Qin was very accomodating, even organising a private bus on our day trip to the Terracotta Warriors, to ensure we would have the best experience by maximising our time there. Plus if we ever had any free time, she always had suggestions or recommendations of things we could do (in addition to what was listed). It is worth pointing out that the trip does include extensive travelling, both at night and during the day, and it would be worth including the approximate travel times for each trip for the purposes of transparency. While the trip says 12 days, the first and the last are not counted, and it would be fair to say we lost an additional two days with travelling. Given the amount of ground we covered, this is to be expected, but the details of this travel could be included more clearly in the trip summary (prior to attending the trip). Although it is covered in the notes received once you have booked the trip, it is certainly worth making note (perhaps like the fitness rating) that the trip, given China's air quality, may provided difficult for certain people, such as asthmatics, including myself. While I had medication with me which I was taking regularly, I still found the air pollution caused significant challenges and it was something I could not quite comprehend until having to breathe through it. Overall, a great trip, and one that I am glad I got to experience with the absolutely wonderful Qin as my guide.

This tour gave me the opportunity to really see a lot of China in a relatively short time. Yangshuo was beautiful and all the activities there were breathtaking. I was traveling during the national holidays, so it was really crowded everywhere, but everything still went well. It was also good to always have a guide with you, as otherwise you really had difficulties with communication. The guide in each city changed and some were less motivated than others. There were also days that were a bit stressful. My highlights definitely included Yangshuo, Beijing and Xi'an. The time in Shanghai could have been shortened, in my opinion there wasn't that much to see there.

One of the best holidays I have been on. I have enjoyed all the information our guide have given us on China.

Day 02 : HONGKONG (B (Dimsum) /L)

City Tour setengah hari (mulai jam ±07.30), mengunjungi : Bauhinia Square, Victoria Peak (Top Level) by coach, Repulse Bay, Aberdeen Fishing Village, Jewel Shop, Chinese Herb Shop. Tour akan berakhir di area Tsim Sha Tsui East, anda dapat bebas berbelanja atau berkeliling Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade. Dan peserta kembali ke Hotel dengan pengaturan masing-masing.

Setelah sarapan pagi, anda akan diajak city tour dengan mengunjungi Victoria Peak dengan menggunakan Tram . Dari Victoria Peak , anda bisa melihat pemandangan kota dan pelabuhan secara jelas.
