Whiskey Myers Expand Tour Ahead of July 29 TORNILLO Release
Whiskey Myers Add Fall Dates to Tornillo Tour
With anticipation growing around their sixth studio album Tornillo , set for release July 29 via the band’s own Wiggy Thump Records with distribution by Thirty Tigers, genre-bending band Whiskey Myers continue to build upon the growing success of consistently sold-out shows, including their upcoming sold-out Red Rocks Amphitheatre debut, adding over 15 additional dates to the Tornillo Tour this fall.
Tickets for the new dates are on sale to the general public Friday, May 6 at 10 a.m. local time via WhiskeyMyers.com , with presale access available for members of the “ Official Whiskey Myers Fans ” Facebook page beginning Tuesday, May 3 at 12 p.m. local time. Additionally, Spotify will give the band’s biggest fans on the platform early access beginning Thursday, May 5 at 10 a.m. local time.
Last week, Whiskey Myers offered a further glimpse at full-length Tornillo with the release of “ Whole World Gone Crazy ,” with American Songwriter declaring in an exclusive premiere, “the bluesy-southern rock blending tune places Whiskey Myers in a league of their own with their signature hard-rocking sound on full display… Saddle up and settle in because Whiskey Myers is ready to take listeners on a country, rock, and blues-infused wild ride.”
“I wrote ‘Whole World Gone Crazy’ back in April of 2020. There was so much hysteria going on in the world before and around that time that this song just sort of came out of me,” lead guitarist John Jeffers shared with the outlet. “Between COVID and everything else, everyone seemed to be going a little nuts. I felt like during all of that, most people were, and still are, just normal people trying to make it another day. Trying to keep their job, praying to the big guy upstairs and working on getting through some crazy times.”
Written solo by Jeffers, who also sings lead vocals on the track, the song’s timely lyrics and sauntering rhythm build over three minutes into a blazing instrumental breakdown showcasing the band’s signature style, described by Esquire as “straight-up, booze-swilling, highway-driving, heart-on-your-sleeve, blood-on-your-knuckles country music.”
“Whole World Gone Crazy” follows prior Tornillo early releases “Antioch” and lead single “John Wayne,” both of which earned praise as part of Billboard ’s “First Country” celebrating the best new songs each week, with the outlet celebrating the former as “a biting track” with “horns, grinding guitars and a solid background vocal chorus” and “meaty Southern rock and blues” and the latter as “nearly five minutes of righteous southern rock, which arrives via a swampy mesh of soul and funk,” continuing, “Cody Cannon’s raspy growl leads a flurry of sizzling guitar, thumping bass, swirling harmonica and flashes of horns, as this group continues pushing its boundaries.”
Tornillo offers the next chapter for the six-piece band that Cowboys & Indians declares is “on a course toward massive success” with Rolling Stone praising Whiskey Myers’ signature ability to “successfully blend hard rock and country twang” in a way that makes them “just as compelling, hard-rocking, and genre-crossing on record as they are onstage” as Billboard proclaims that the new music “is a worthy addition to the group’s already electrifying, rowdy live shows.”
Among the new dates on the fall leg, Whiskey Myers recently announced that their personally curated Firewater Music Festival will return for a second year, taking place Sept. 29 – Oct. 1, 2022, just outside Kansas City. Whiskey myers expands 2024 tour through fall.
Posted by Buddy Iahn | Apr 15, 2024
The group adds 12 more dates through fall of 2024
Having kicked off a year of heavy touring with a headlining RodeoHouston stadium appearance and a run of electric arena shows, multi-platinum band Whiskey Myers now extends their in-demand run through the fall with 12 additional shows. Tickets to all previously announced shows are on sale now, with the new run of shows on Friday, March 1st at 10 am local time.
Joining the genre-bending band across the new October dates are JJ Grey & Mofro and Colby Acuff. Southall and Cam Allen serve as support on November 1st with 49 Winchester and Angel White joining on November 2nd. Previously announced dates feature a rotating cast of support with The Red Clay Strays, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Southall, Whitey Morgan and the 78’s, Anderson East, Blackberry Smoke, Reid Haughton, Treaty Oak Revival, Vincent Neil Emerson and Eddie Flint.
In addition to their headlining dates, Whiskey Myers tops several festival lineups and will serve as direct support to Hank Williams, Jr. for four shows. Their own Wiggy Thump Festival also returns to their hometown of Palestine, Texas for the sixth year on April 20th, with Jason Boland & The Stragglers, Brent Cobb, and Joey Greer joining the event benefitting the local Anderson County Youth Livestock Association.
The group will also return to Red Rocks Amphitheatre for back-to-back nights on June 12th with support by Black Pistol Fire and Jason Boland and the Stragglers plus June 13th with support by Anderson East and Vincent Neil Emerson. This follows the group’s 2022 Red Rocks debut that sold out in a single day, prompting a two-night stand in 2023.
In a special initiative to reward their most devoted fans, the band has also launched the Whiskey Myers App to serve as the ultimate hub for fans, providing early access to tickets, exclusive merchandise, interactive message boards, and more. The app will also play a role in the band’s proactive efforts to combat scalpers and ensure genuine fans can access tickets at face-value pricing.

Whiskey Myers Add New Dates To 2024 Tour
Whiskey Myers has another year jam-packed with shows across the country.
They already announced a slew of tour dates for the first half of 2024 , and they just put even more that now run through November. In addition to their own headlining dates, the Texas boys will also open a few shows for the great Hank Williams, Jr. this year too.
Whiskey Myers has an absolutely stacked group of openers who will rotate on different dates, with The Red Clay Strays and Lukas Nelson & POTR opening the first leg of the tour, and SOUTHALL, Whitey Morgan and the 78’s, Anderson East, Blackberry Smoke, Reid Haughton, Treaty Oak Revival, Vincent Neil Emerson and Eddie Flint taking turns on the rest of the shows.
They’ve added 49 Winchester, Colby Acuff, Angel White, Cam Allen, J.J, Grey and Mofro as rotating openers to these new dates as well.
And as a band who prides themselves on their grueling tour scheduling and pretty much staying on the road all year long (as you can probably tell), you can bet that they truly have one of the best live shows in the business, and if they’ll be anywhere near you this year, and they probably will be by the time it’s over, get yourself to a show.
I promise, you will not be disappointed:
“We can’t wait to see y’all out on the road this year if we haven’t already! We’ve added a few more dates and presale starts tomorrow morning.”
Tickets for the new dates go on sale tomorrow, and tickets for all previously-announced dates are already on available.
